Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the year 1981. The NWA was still working in many areas in the country. Some of the top stars in the business were just beginning to make their mark throughout the country. There are some promotions who have settled in with some great stars who are continuing to build their reputation on a regional level. Television isn't anywhere near a national level and stars who are big in one area may be completely unknown in another. Wrestlers sometimes work for two promotions to make ends meat but usually call one their home. There are special attractions like Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, Abdullah the Butcher, The Sheik, and three young guys from Texas named David, Kerry, and Kevin Von Erich. The NWA World Champion Harley Race is making the rounds defending his title along with the tag team champions Paul Jones and the Masked Superstar. They will come and go as long as they are champions but those titles can be hot commodities and who knows who will be next in line for the titles. These are the days before Starrcade and WrestleMania. The live events that happen night in and night out along with the big shows throughout the country are the main way for people to see these top stars. Some promotions have a stronghold on live events while others focus on television to move their product. The time is now and the future of these stars is in your hands... welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Big Boom of pro wrestling... who will reign supreme?

3 Way Dance - 1981 plus more if interested....
LowBlowPodcast replied to LowBlowPodcast's topic in Armchair Booking
Here is an idea of what the rosters would look like for the big three. I would say that Mid South & Georgia would also have pretty strong starting 15 with the rest draft able. I looked into World Class but outside of the Von Erichs and Kabuki, their 15 wouldn't be too strong but then again, the draft could completely change that landscape. If another NWA promotion wanted to join - I would then free up Harley, Paul Jones, & Masked Superstar to make them special attractions as the champions and replace them with other MACW mainstays. -
Myself and @SirEdger are going to fine tune the 1981 project and looking for a 3rd and/or possibly 4th member to do some fantasy booking starting in the year 1981. I have already gone through and put together 3-15 man rosters from that time period for the WWF, AWA, and MACW. I'd be open to looking at a promotion like Georgia, Florida, Mid South, or World Class if someone was interested. You'd take the 15 people who are already in your crew and then draft out the rest of the roster to 40. We'd then open free agency so if you really wanted you could have 50 but that is for each person's choice. Once the draft is complete, trades can be made and everyone will be available who was active during this time in wrestling. We'd be looking for someone who would like to write a weekly/bi weekly tv show and/or focus on house shows (as they did in that time). We've generally had a great time with these projects and love to write and give feedback. Let me know if you have more questions or interest!

3/20- Sat - Mid South Wrestling Television - Irish McNeil Boy’s Club in Shreveport, Louisiana {The Mid South video slams onto the screen with quick clips of all the top stars. We then cut to the ringside area where Boyd Pierce is standing by at the announcer’s booth!} BP: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Mid South Wrestling Network! I am Boyd Pierce and joining me in just a little while will be Cowboy Bill Watts. We are just a week away from the Showdown at the Superdome… all the Mid South Titles on the line… it is going to be an amazing event. Tonight we will see the Semi-Finals of the Tag Team Title tournament, plus the return of Andre the Giant! Right now it is time to head to the ring for the Mississippi State Champion… Bullet Bob Armstrong! Bob Armstrong vs Fidel Sierra -A great showing for Bullet Bob against Fidel Sierra playing off the Cuban Communist gimmick. The crowd is eating him up and the heat gets cranked when the Incredible Hulk Hogan walks out with Freddie Blassie. Blassie jumps on commentary and runs Armstrong down in a big way but inside the ring, the bullet is firing on all cylinders and finishes things off with a big Georgia Jawbreaker for the 1...2...3!! The crowd pops for the MS State champ as he walks over to Hogan… Hogan towers over Bob Armstrong who isn’t afraid of anything… Blassie and Armstrong have words with one another but Armstrong gets in the final word saying “I don’t care how big he is or how strong he is… with the power of myself and every single fan, he is going to fall like a Redwood!!” The crowd pops as Armstrong walks off and Hogan looks pissed! *COMMERCIAL* MSW is back and Boyd Pierce is running through the tag title tournament when all of a sudden The Samoans are in the ring with Ernie Ladd and Bill Watts comes out disheveled. Tommy Rich is now out with Watts and the crowd is wondering what’s going on. Watts announces that the JYD isn’t in the building. He arrived earlier but no one can find him. Ernie Ladd walks over and he’s laughing up a storm. Watts says they may hold the match off until next week but Ladd is calling foul and says Rich either wrestles the two of them or he forfeits! Rich then gets in Ladd’s face and accepts the challenge! He runs into the ring! Tommy Rich vs the Samoans -The Wildfire runs into the ring and he is throwing rights and lefts and then some big dropkicks! He gets the Samoans reeling as they go out of the ring and the crowd is going wild! Ladd then gets up on the apron and Tommy Rich with a big dropkick and Ladd goes flying to the floor! This gives Afa and Sika a chance to get in behind Rich and they double team him. We get a decent little 6-minute affair with the Samoans doubling up on Rich but he looks like he’s going to make a big comeback but it is cut off when Ernie Ladd pulls the rope down and Rich goes flying over the ropes and lands on the floor. The referee begins the count but Afa stops him only for Ladd to run over and kick Rich right in the guts and he goes down… the referee turns around and finishes the 10-count and the Samoans have won it! Bill Watts is going nuts on commentary with Boyd Pierce but now Ladd throws Rich in the ring and he and the Samoans are doing a number on him! Wait a second… here comes Kevin Sullivan! He has got Khan and Roop with him and now they are working over Tommy Rich! The crowd can’t believe it but then the fans POP when Andre the Giant leads Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch out to the ring and we’ve got a brawl but the fans EXPLODE when the JYD comes out with a bandage on his head and the babyface clear the ring! *COMMERCIAL* We’re back after the chaos… inside the ring Andre the Giant is there for a handicap match... Andre the Giant vs Ashura Hara & Terry Lathan -A fun little handicap match with Andre taking on Lathan and Hara but they can’t get anything going. Andre makes short work on them and slams them in the corner with the butt bump and then it leads to him hitting a double body slam and splash for the 3-count… he then walks to the booth and he’s joined by JYD and Tommy Rich! Bill Watts is there and he asks JYD exactly what happened… JYD: Well Bill… I got to the arena early and someone came to get me to sign some autographs for some kids. I went into this room and next thing I know I see Kevin Sullivan and then I got jumped by Khan and Roop! Well boys I am standing here right now ready for a fight if you want one come and get it! BW: Well JYD… I can’t believe this happened… I think I have got two decisions that need to be made… so first things first… next week in the Superdome… it is going to be Roop and Khan versus… the JYD and ANDRE THE GIANT! The crowd pops huge for that announcement as JYD and Andre shake hands… BW: But that’s not it… I am also announcing that Ernie Ladd is going to defend the Louisiana Championship against… THE WILDFIRE TOMMY RICH! The crowd pops huge and Tommy Rich looks pumped… it looks like the Showdown at the Superdome is coming together in a big way! *COMMERCIAL* MSW is back and Wrestling II is joining Boyd Pierce as they discuss the North American Title match coming up next week with the Grappler. Right now he is in action… let’s go to the ring! Mike George vs the Grappler -A good showing for George but it is the Grappler who looks very strong in the ring. He has got some good momentum and good head from the crowd. George gets in some offense but it doesn’t last long before George hits a big jawbreaker and that leads to a nasty Lariat for the 3-count! Grappler goes over to Wrestling II and they have some choice words or one another. Next week it is all on the line with the North American title to be decided between these two top stars! *COMMERCIAL* Boyd Pierce welcomes us back to Mid South and runs through all the big happening from the night. He then builds up the big tag team match coming up… who will face the Samoans for the tag titles… let’s find out! Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch vs The Super Destroyers -A great tag team match with the Destroyers getting in a lot of good offense and some serious heat on Rhodes before Murdoch comes in to even the odds. The crowd is solidly behind the Dream and Capt Redneck and they give them exactly what they want. We see a couple of huge elbows from Rhodes leading to a nasty brainbuster for the 3-count! Rhodes and Murdoch get the victory and will be heading to the Superdome to face the Samoans! SHOWDOWN @ THE SUPERDOME March the 27th Ron & Jim Garvin vs Ivan Koloff & Nikolai Volkoff Mississippi Championship Bullet Bob Armstrong © vs Hulk Hogan w/ Freddie Blassie NO DQ MATCH Jerry & Jack Brisco vs Dr. D Dave Schultz & Bob Orton Jr The JYD & Andre the Giant vs Killer Khan & Bob Roop w/ Kevin Sullivan Mid South North American Championship Wrestling II vs The Grappler Mid South Tag Team Championship Dick Murdoch & Dusty Rhodes vs The Samoans Louisiana Championship Tommy Rich vs Ernie Ladd ©

3/13 - Sat - Mid South Wrestling Television - Irish McNeil Boy’s Club in Shreveport, Louisiana {The Mid South video slams onto the screen with quick clips of all the top stars. We then cut to the ringside area where Boyd Pierce is standing by at the announcer’s booth!} BP: Boyd Pierce here fans on the Mid South Wrestling Network with Mid South Wrestling and what a night we’ve got in store for you this evening. Cowboy Bill Watts is currently meeting with the championship committee and finalizing matches for the Superdome on March the 27th. Tonight we’ve got two big tournament matches as we head into the semi-finals next week where we already know that The JYD and Tommy Rich will be taking on The Samoans! Right now it is time to head to the ring for our opening contest… Wrestling II defeated Carl Fergie via the high knee for the 3-count! Wrestling II heads over to Boyd Pierce… Wrestling II: Listen up and listen good Boyd Pierce… I sat out here last week and watched that good for nothing Grappler hit Mike George out of nowhere… well Grappler you won’t be sneaking up on me in the Superdome! I have held that North American title before and I will hold it again. Grappler… you came about the title in an underhanded way but I am ready for your underhanded tactics...but with all the fans behind me… 20,000 strong in the Superdome… I am bringing that title right back where it belongs! *COMMERCIAL* Mid South returns with footage from last week with the Briscos and the team of Orton and Schultz. We hear Boyd Pierce talk about the possible bounty on this match… we then cut to the ring. The Briscos vs Bob Orton & Dave Schultz -A pretty great tag team contest with these four men showing off their skills. Boyd really puts over the history of Jack and Jerry and going against the two bounty hunters. The tale of the match is how Orton and Schultz are trying to break every single rule in the book while Randy Anderson is quickly losing control of the contest. We even see Schultz go into his tights and bull out some kind of knucks that nails Jerry Brisco so hard it busts him wide open as he falls out of the ring to the floor. Orton goes down and he is hammering away at him with blood all over his hands. This brings Jack down and now he is going tooth and nail with Orton until Schultz comes from behind with a chair! The Briscos are laid out but winners via DQ as officials run down to back off Orton and Schultz! This is chaos! *COMMERCIAL* Mid South is back with BP putting over the big issue between the Briscos and the Bounty Hunters. He says that both Jerry and Jack are receiving medical attention in the back and we hope to hear more on that issue in the coming moments. Right now it is time for our next Tag Team Tournament match… let’s head to the ring! Mike George & Jose Lothario vs The Super Destroyers -Another good tag team match but Jose and George can’t seem to get on the same page. The Destroyers are double teaming at every turn to gain and keep control of the match. The crowd is trying to get Jose and Geroge into it and when they mount a big comeback, it is confusion on the side of the referee that leads to a blind switch between the Destroyers and then a quick roll up on Jose Lothario for the 3-count! The Super Destroyers move on and they join the Grappler at the booth! The Grappler and Destroyers are gloating in a big way. They talk about the tag titles and the North American title. Grappler says the Mississippi title was stolen from him by Bob Armstrong but this time he has an insurance policy (puts his arms around the Destroyers) to make sure that the North American title stays right where it belongs! *COMMERCIAL* We’re back on Mid South with the Russians, Koloff and Volkoff putting over their issue with the Garvins and talking about shutting them up for good but here comes Ron and Jim Garvin who ask why they haven’t signed the contracts yet! The crowd starts a USA chant that causes the Russians to retreat to the back! Hulk Hogan w/ Freddie Blassie defeated Rick McGraw via the Bear Hug and Slam! Blassie and Hogan come over to the booth and they are just going off on Bill Watts and the rest of Mid South hiding and ducking from Hulk Hogan. They say he is the strongest man in wrestling… he is the most vicious man in wrestling… and soon he will be the champion of champions and no one… no one will be able to stop him! *COMMERCIAL* Mid South is back and here comes Bill Watts… he grabs a piece of paper. Bill Watts then announces the following matches for the Superdome on the 27th… North American Title… The Grappler defends against Wrestling II! Finals of the Tag Team Title Tournament! Ernie Ladd will defend the Louisiana Championship! Mississippi Title… Bullet Bob Armstrong defends against the Incredible Hulk Hogan! Plus… The Briscos against Orton and Schultz in a NO DQ match… and The Garvins take on the Russians… plus the return of ANDRE THE GIANT to Mid South Wrestling!! The crowd pops huge as we see the JYD and Tommy Rich come out and cut promos putting over their match with the Samoans next week. They talk about how nothing can stop them from getting those titles and they don’t care who is in their path! The crowd pops as we see Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch come out to shake their hands as they are in our main event! *COMMERCIAL* Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch vs Randy Rose & Dennis Condrey -Big time main event with the American Dream and Captain Redneck! Rose and Condrey are definitely seasoned vets and get some good heat on Dick Murdoch but it doesn’t last long before the Dream gets the big tag and it is all over but the crying! We see Dream and Tricky Dick get the upperhand and put the finishing touches on these two with no questions asked. The Big Bionic Elbow is all she wrote for the 3-count as Rhodes and Murdoch move on! Rhodes and Murdoch come over and cut a big promo on the Superdome and taking on the Destroyers next week. They say they can’t wait for Andre to come back and they hope to see JYD and Tommy Rich in the finals! Boyd Pierce then sends us off with hype for next week! NEXT WEEK on Mid South Wrestling…. Junkyard Dog & Tommy Rich vs the Samoans & Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch vs The Super Destroyers… The Winners will meet in the Superdome! Plus Andre the Giant will be here… and we’ll see Mike George taking on The Grappler… plus Bob Armstrong in action! Tune in next week for Mid South Wrestling!

Google docs my friend... life saver. Sorry for the shitty situation.

Could I have Masked Superstar & Paul Jones from 4/17 through 4/24?
-
I am interested in the long term plans for Dynamite. There's a couple of light heavyweights out there in free agency who could suit his style well and he could be utilized as the top guy in that division in the world if used right. I like the reveal of Bad News who was a legit contender in Stampede and he's got a lot of heat to get things going!
-
You are seriously churning out some quality stuff day in and day out. I have said it before that I am big on Sweet Daddy Siki... I liked his style. I am doing a Greatest SNME match ever tournament and the absolute hate for Dino Bravo from 88-91 is on full effect... here though... he's a star in the making and someone I like to see utilized in that way!
-
Once again... some serious star power on both shows. I have to ask... is Heenan with Bock and Duncum? I know they were part of his stable in the past... I just know he is such a major part of a promoton that he can make everyone that much better. I also like seeing Valentine pull double duty here... he is a workhorse for sure and I know he could pull it off and not lose a step.

3/6 - Sat - Mid South Wrestling Television - Irish McNeil Boy’s Club in Shreveport, Louisiana {The Mid South video slams onto the screen with quick clips of all the top stars. We then cut to the ringside area where Boyd Pierce is standing by at the announcer’s booth!} BP: Welcome everyone to Mid South Wrestling! I am Boyd Pierce here on the Mid South Wrestling Network and fans. We've got tag team tournament action for you tonight along with the return of Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch to Mid South Wrestling! Plus we’ll see a special six-man tag team match… the Grappler teams with the Super Destroyers to take on Mike George, Bob Armstrong, and Mr. Wrestling II! It is time to head to the ring for our opening contest! The Brisco Brothers defeated Carl Fergie & Rick McGraw via the Figure Four Leg Lock! The Briscos walk over to the booth and let it be known that they are here in the Mid South for more than just the Mid South tag titles but they have their sights set on the NWA tag team champions the Masked Superstar and Paul Jones! They talk about getting word that a bounty has been sent over on them to make sure they can’t challenge the tag team champions… then we see two men walk over… wait a second… That’s Bob Orton Jr. & Dave Schultz! They announce their presence in the Mid South and say they have come for a single purpose and that is to cash in on the $10,000 put on each of the Brisco’s heads… Jack and Jerry smile and say anytime… anywhere… but Orton and Schultz say that that they’ll have no clue when or how it is going to happen… but it will! *COMMERCIAL* Mid South is back with Boyd Pierce putting over the tag title tournament and we have our first match coming up in mere moments. Bill Watts joins him for commentary and puts over how there will be no bounties here in Mid South… he says there won’t be any sneak attacks or blind sides… so next week he’s booking the Briscos to take on Orton and Schultz! If they want a match… they got it! He says that the Superdome Card is coming together already with the finals of the tag title tournament plus we’ll see Ernie Ladd defend the Louisiana title, Bullet Bob will defend the Mississippi title, and the big North American title match with Wrestling II taking on The Grappler! They cut back to the tournament as we head to the ring... Junkyard Dog & Tommy Rich vs Ivan Koloff & Nikolai Volkoff -A really fun tag match with all four men getting some shine. Ivan can still go in there but he is a great heatseeker. We see him really get some hate from the crowd while Nikolai is all power. That power is matched though by the JYD but it is Tommy Rich who is the wild card and he turns it up like the Wildfire that he is! JYD with a big clothesline taking Ivan out of the ring before Tommy Rich hits the ropes and nails Nikolai with the Thesz Press for the 3-count and Rich and JYD are moving on! Watts and Pierce are putting over that big win for JYD and Tommy Rich before the Russians come over and scream foul but the crowd pops a little bit when Jim Garvin walks out… with Ron Garvin! Ron takes the microphone… Ron: Listen up and listen good boys… I’ve seen it the last couple of weeks… first Nikolai and then Ivan… you two wants to team up on Jimmy… well fellas two on one isn’t going to happen anymore. I called Jimmy after it happened once and he said he didn’t need any help… then I saw it last week and I said I couldn’t take it anymore… well you want a fight… you got the two of us… so just name the time and place! *COMMERCIAL* Watts and Pierce are back putting over Ron Garvin coming to Mid South and saying he’ll do whatever it takes to get that match booked. He puts over Bullet Bobs title win last week as we cut to our next matchup... Scott Casey vs the Incredible Hulk Hogan w/ Freddie Blassie -Hogan once against looks to be in amazing shape and Blassie is getting some great heat outside the ring. Hogan destroys Casey’s back before picking him up for the bear hug and shakes him around before SLAMMING HIM into the mat for the 3-count! Watts and Pierce continue to chat about the Superdome before Blassie and Hogan walk over and put themselves over. Blassie says that Hogan is the number one contender for every title in Mid South and could win the tag titles by himself if he had to! Watts laughs and says that he is good but he isn’t there yet before Hogan gets in his face and says he is putting the notice out… to all comers… to just try and stop him! Watts says we’ll see exactly what Hogan is made of soon enough! *COMMERCIAL* Watts and Pierce are back here on MSW as they put over the tag title tournament. They put over the win for JYD and Tommy Rich earlier in the night. That leads to Ernie Ladd coming out with the Samoans. He puts them over and says that anyone Watts puts in their way is going to go down and even Bill Watts himself needs to take notice! Ricky & Robert Gibson vs The Samoans -A solid showing for Ricky and Robert who throw a lot of speed at Afa and Sika but they just don’t have enough power to match them. Afa and Sika are pros out there and bide their time before taking the match over and using some double teaming to take these guys out. Robert gets kicked in the throat and goes down to the floor while Sika powerslams Ricky before Afa comes off the middle ropes with a big diving headbutt for the 3-count! The Samoans move on! Ladd is all smiles as he and Watts continue to have words before Bill Watts exclaims that in two weeks the Samoans have to face off against the JYD and Tommy Rich for a chance to go to the Superdome for the titles! Ladd goes quiet and just smiles before he takes his men to the back! *COMMERCIAL* Watts and Pierce continue to put over the Superdome show as they welcome in none other than Dirty Dick Murdoch and the American Dream Dusty Rhodes! Rhodes and Murdoch put over Mid South Wrestling as the top tier of professional wrestling. They talk about the tag titles being the premiere tag titles in wrestling and they plan on winning and defending those titles against any and all comers! They continue to chat as we cut to our next match... Dennis Stamp vs Bob Roop w/ Killer Khan & Kevin Sullivan -A solid contest for Bob Roop while Sullivan and Khan get some nice heat outside the ring. Rhodes and Murdoch run down Sullivan and his exiles while Roop gets the victory following a nasty shoulder breaker for the 3-count! Sullivan and his crew walk over to Rhodes and Murdoch and talk about how they are what is wrong with Mid South… and they will be just more pawns in the game of chess and when they fall so will the entire kingdom of Mid South Wrestling. Dusty and Dicky want to get in the ring and do it right now but Sullivan and his men back off… *COMMERCIAL* We’re back with MSW as Watts and Pierce put over all the big announcements from tonight’s card as we get ready for our main event. They welcome in Jose Lothario who will be teaming with Mike George next week in the tag title tournament. He says he is happy to be back in the Mid South and looks forward to challenging for the tag titles. It is time for our big six-man tag team main event... Mike George, Bob Armstrong & Wrestling II vs The Super Destroyers & The Grappler -What a way to cap off a great night of action. We get all six-men involved in this 15-minute main event. The Grappler is made to look very strong here and he shows off some skills. The Super Destroyers are also in pretty good shape but don’t slouch on George, Armstrong, and Wrestling II who build up a big course of momentum. As we approach the finish of the match we see the Destroyers take Wrestling II and Armstrong out of the ring but the Bullet isn’t done with them. Mike George then comes with a big dropkick sending Destroyer II out of the ring but when he turns around it is The Grappler with a NASTY LARIAT for the knock down and then 3-count to finish things off! The Grappler sneaks out with the Destroyers… they work the fans and Wrestling II takes notice... Next week on Mid South Wrestling! The Briscos vs Bob Orton & Dave Schultz Dusty Rhodes & Dick Murdoch vs Randy Rose & Dennis Condrey Mike George & Jose Lothario vs The Super Destroyers Plus Bill Watts will let everyone know what is in store for the Superdome on March the 27th!

How far can we book out?
-
I would love to see 1980 Tenryu and Savage go 20 minutes... then Ole and Curt Hennig. I love Ken Patera and how you're using him. Piper vs Patera is a good feud and one I can get behind. Lasn't... Dick Slater continues to rule... lots of great cards here and fun matchups.

Here's what I found... Sept 1972 Stampede Dan Kroffat Tor Kamata 1st ladder match 07/01/1979 Stampede Big Daddy Ritter Jake Roberts N American title July 1983 Stampede Bret Hart Bad News

I agree with Dunk, that tag team angle and mix-match was fun to read. There's a lot going on and this seems like a promotion who can get away with some of these ideas and captivate the ideas of the fans. It was funny, I was thinking of a super gimmicky match last night but then stopped myself because I didn't think Watts would do it lol. Maybe with Dusty there he could get away with it. Am I right in thinking that the first ladder match was up in Stampede? This is an innovative promotion that is on the threshold of future styles. I love it.

I've always wanted to see a little more from Dewey Robertson before he was the Missing Link. You've got a really good loop here with some top tier talent. I love John Studd and he's my guy for you from my point of view. I feel like he's going to be the top tier guy for this promotion and perhaps the game when he compares to other.
