I think it is all but settled that Lawler and the Rock N Roll will go to the draft unless anyone has a big opposition to it. Post it here and we can hash it out but we can plan on them being a part of the 1986 fresh face draft. We will keep it at 3 rounds at this point then... I don't see the need to jump it up to 4. Plus remember that your roster cap is 49 right now... it will jump to 50 with this draft but not get any higher. We could maybe jump to 51 or 55 in January of 1987 if we make it that far but we have more than enough space with the talent that is available.

I kind of like the idea of putting the rock and roll Express into the draft and keeping lawlor a freelancer. With no clear Memphis territory even though Kevin is running there with the uswa he could be a good freelancer to move around and work in various promotions. However I am good with whatever we decide to do.
-
So at this point the lot of us seem to want to keep the system but Rain brings up a great point... How do we feel about either Keeping Lawler and Rock N Roll as freelancers? or Putting Lawler and Rock N Roll into the draft?

I will add him.

JWA July 1985 - JWA Japanese Championship Tournament
LowBlowPodcast replied to gordi's topic in Promotions
Gosh man, I am sorry I missed all of this. I recently had some issues come up as well so I have been away from things. I hope all is well and we can get you back asap. You are a vital piece to the game and really make us better. In regards to the Japan/WWF stuff, I will cross that bridge when we come to it. Best of luck. -
Since we have got about 4 months until we do the 1986 fresh face... I wanted to put a topic out there that we always find a way to discuss... freelancers. Right now we've got Bruiser Brody Stan Hansen Jerry Lawler The Rock N Roll Express Abdullah the Butcher Mil Mascaras I would like to have some discussion on if we should continue to have freelancers or include these names into the 1986 fresh face draft to do away with the freelance idea. Looking for feedback from all those involved. I am personally on the fence as I see the benefit for all those who use them but also know that these are some big time names that could really take a promotion up a level. Just for arguments sake... the Rock N Roll would have to be drafted with two separate picks... not just using your first and second round... you could pick Robert Gibson but then have to hope Ricky Morton makes it back around... that is unless you trade for two picks in a row. What do you guys think at this point?

El Dragon has shown some interest in joining us. Free agency is slim pickings but he is going to look through and also look through individuals we have in jobber roles. We will have an update soon.

I agree with the sentiment of Hercules, he was with me early on but didn't fit for the time, now is different and I plan on using him better and perhaps getting him to challenge Hogan down the line.

WWF Superstars Vince McMahon & Jesse the Body Ventura Matches from Hamburg, PA – The Fieldhouse -Jesse and Vince are getting things going in a big way talking about the big six-man tonight along with the announcement of All-American Wrestling! They put over the return of Tito Santana and the big tag team championship match tonight. Plus a big time opener with Billy Jack Haynes taking on the Super Invader!!! Billy Jack Haynes vs Super Invader -An interesting opener as we get the Super Invader in action and he hasn’t been introduced on television but he is out tonight against Billy Jack and Invader looks huge. They have a pretty basic contest and the strength of both men is showcased throughout the contest but the real moment happens when Bobby Heenan walks down to the ring. Jesse and Vince are going nuts putting it over and don’t know what he’s doing. Jesse says maybe he is here to recruit Billy Jack but when he comes down he gets up on the apron and Billy Jack comes over but this gives Invader a chance to break free… then he takes off his mask… IT IS HERCULES HERNANDEZ! Hercules is back in the WWF and he comes and NAILS Billy Jack from behind and Haynes is down in a bad way! Heenan reaches under the ring and pulls out the big CHAIN and tosses it inside to Hercules who stars to hammer away at Haynes! The crowd is going nuts as Billy Jack is busted wide open! We get the Hart Foundation out here with Jimmy Hart early on and officials are backing them off. The match itself goes about 15-minutes with some fun action as these guys are a pretty darn good match up of styles. The Fantastics are pushing and pulling with every single maneuver of the Duo. Adams and Hernandez double up and pull out all the dirty tricks before the Fantastics start to make a run. They are hitting some double dropkicks and double armdrags and they are looking to finish! Here comes the new and improved Hercules Hernandez, with the blood of Billy Jack Haynes still on his hands. Hercules trips Tommy Rogers but then brings Bobby Fulton running off the apron and tackles him outside the ring. This one is breaking loose as the referee is looking outside the ring, the Dynamic Duo grab Tommy Rogers and Gino holds him while Chris Adams comes and CRESCENT KICK right to the jaw following by a bridging German Suplex from Gino for the 3-count and this one is dirty. Hercules is pounding away at Fulton outside the ring as this one is breaking loose. PRESS RELEASE Join the WWF for All-American Wrestling starting on August 4, 1985! All-American will air on Sunday mornings at 9:00am ET with Superstars moving to the 11:00am ET time slot. Many markets will show both shows but there are still many that will carry one. With All-American, Superstars, and Wrestling Challenge... the WWF is cornering the major market with the utilization of the USA Network while some of the shows are also syndicated throughout the major markets of the country. With these shows and the addition of Saturday Night's Main Event on NBC and the Madison Square Garden shows on the MSG Network, the visibility of the WWF is bigger now more than ever. All-American is slated to be hosted by Gene Okerlund and Lord Alfred Hayes at this point. Gorilla Monsoon and Hillbilly Jim are also said to be involved in some of the post-production with announcing of the matches. The WWF currently has a job opening for an announcer and would like to fill this spot with someone with Lord Alfred Hayes. Expect the show to be very basic with lower tier talent and some interviews as it is a way to get the show established following the basic formula that the WWF has developed over the past couple of years with their programing.

JWA July 1985 - JWA Japanese Championship Tournament
LowBlowPodcast replied to gordi's topic in Promotions
Jumbo and Brody still doing work as is Fujinami.... JWA Tournament Match: Tatsumi Fujinami vs Adrian Adonis -Fujinami goes on here. JWA Tournament Match: Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs Akira Maeda -I think Maeda is a dark horse here. JWA Tournament Match: Bruiser Brody vs Tiger Mask Sayama -Still thinking Brody is the man JWA Tournament Match: Riki Choshu vs Jumbo Tsuruta -Jumbo's coming out party... he is the man to beat the man who bet Inoki. -
I love the pure unpredictability from Lutte. I would have never bet on Mando Guerrero beating Larry Z... but the Machine upset over Rick Martel. Just pure fun to sit and read about what could happen in a promotion that is totally unpredictable.
-
I enjoy the stuff you've got here. I can see the Colon win and being a big deal. We have discussed some of the plans with outside talent coming in and I think that will prove to be a way to really put over these home grown talents you are building up.
-
I love the Bash concept and the original big bash show of 85. With Piper coming in, it takes the Bash to the next level and MACW is really putting together a roster to be reckoned with. I dare say that things are now more even that ever with WWF, AWA, MACW, and UWF/SA.
-
Small little note that Cornette is with an E. I am sure it is an auto correct thing but just wanted to pay it forward. Like I stated with MACW, this roster is coming together. With the changes in the wind and some pieces moving... I hope that it brings that solid foundation that you have been looking for to have things settle enough to get in your rhythm for the long run heading into 86.

WWF releases Skip Young, Bart Sawyer, Terry Daniels, Lt. James Wright, Rick Gibson, & Frankie DeFalco after "Tuesday." I have already written up the television, if you really want them let me know, if not, they will be good to go after the tv tapings. Some may go into business for themselves!
-
That will be up to you. If they are still going to primarily lose with no chance of winning then they should stay in a pack like originally developed however if you have an enhancement talent that maybe we'll become a jobber to the Stars I would suggest that they have their own spot. I'm going to do some roster moves of my own that will put SD Jones in a regular spot by himself while all the Rivera's will all stay in a pack because they will be losing under multiple different gimmicks
-
The randomly created jobbers would not count against your roster cap at all. In reality I would drop some of my guys and move them into roster spots say I would drop a job or pack with guys that I'm not using as just jobbers and then I would move a Barry Horowitz to a raw sore spot I move in SD Jones to a roster spot so that I could have them win on a dark match or a small match on a television and then they would be enhancement talents. Now I would still keep some job or packs for guys who are more than likely going to lose all the time but they would be used as enhancement packs much like a conquistadors pack like I have or something along those lines
-
Hey guys, and looking at the rosters I had sort of a thought that I wanted to throw out there and see what people thought. Right now we have the jobber / enhancement packs and I wanted to see if we could possibly toy with the idea of making those packs purely enhancement Talent which means there's a chance that they could win but more less they are just there as enhancement people. To add on to that we could use randomly-generated jobbers that don't have real names rather they are just randomly thought up or generated on your own opinion to use for squash matches. As I'm watching 1985 and 1986 WWF and NWA programming I'm seeing a lot of guys who are Star Wars but I'm also seeing a lot of guys were random as hell just coming in and out. I was going to see what you guys thought about utilizing that and then also having those guys who are enhancements possibly be there for better matches and the ever so opportunity to maybe get a win. I think of like an SD Jones who right now is completely regulated to jobber matches and getting squashed when I could use him as an enhancement on a lower level opportunity to get over a little bit and then when he loses to Greg Valentine on Superstars that means a little bit more rather than him just getting his ass beat every week. What do you guys think of this? Is this something we could try? It isn't really a big change it is rather just you now have the opportunity to use random names as jobbers and you can use some of those enhancement talents to put them over. I know for me I would probably get rid of couple of those guys that I have on my roster and utilize them in different ways since I could use them as enhancements rather than just using them to get squashed.
