Rocky says that he will get his revenge, but he’s a fair man. Name your price. Paul Jones steps in and says II will accept the challenge, if Rocky puts his wrestling career on the line. 12. I agree with this. Everyone has great ideas, and great talent, but some mix better than others. That's why I love the open trading option we have. After we have used some talent for a bit, we can exchange them with another territory and freshen up rosters, ideas and angles. But still keep some of our main players that we really like and build our companies around. Also, I love the TV format here. It flows perfectly, it really fits the mid 80s era, but the main events are just through the roof. The talent here, and some of these main events are incredible. I echo the statements of seeing Hogan wrestle on the syndicated shows. You got to hear him every week, but to see him wrestling, that was a very rare piece of business. Love it, great stuff...as always. I think this happens to most of us. I had the same problem with Bob Backlund with Lutte Internationale. Despite knowing I had a great talent in my hands, I just couldn't figure out what to do with him and then I sent him to Mid-Atlantic and Patrick is booking a fantastic feud between he and Ric Flair. I think we all stumble through that kind of stuff in which we're comfortable to find stuff for some guys but not for others. Ultimately, I think that the strength of our project is that we seemingly always find someone who'll make things work for a wrestler that we can't seem to find something good to write about.
  13. Love the Midnight's angle. Parking lot beat down, suspension. Attacking from all angles, and when they do show up for a house show, it's a street fight. Fun angle for me. So many moving parts with this territory, you never know what is coming next, and that makes for an even better read. Love the work.
  14. Fun tournament. Stacked lineup, each of the main matches could have been main events ANYWHERE. Love tag team wrestling, and this seemed like a lot of fun. The major titles matches in between the tournament rolled real nicely through as well. Super fun show.

  18. NWA: Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling News and Notes: The next big hyped show for MACW is out of Atlanta and the Omni. This will be taped for a VHS release later in the year. This is why we are seeing the main programs climax inside a Steel Cage. Bob Backlund and Ric Flair was a program we were going to see going into Starrcade, but it was decided to finish it here, at least for now. Tully Blanchard and "Superstar" Graham will also be decided at the Omni inside a cage. This was set up at Fall Brawl and a special attraction during a Lutte International show. More on the relationship with Lutte in a few. There maybe one more announced cage match for this show, but nothing is official at this time. Mid Atlantic and Lutte International have always had a good working relationship in the past. Recently, it has started to grow. We have seen a non-title brawl to help set up the cage match for Tully and Superstar. There is talk of an invitation into the NWA for Lutte, and details and contracts are still being discussed. MACW is hoping to get Lutte to participate in this year's Starrcade, on Christmas night from Greensboro, NC. A small roster change took place after Fall Brawl, which usually does after big closed circuit event for MACW. A trade with USWA took place, and saw Rocky Johnson and Mr. Wrestling II enter the territory. Some concern about losing younger talents and bringing in some older talents, but the idea will be to let the younger talents work with the older veterans in the coming weeks to give them better experience. The first round of house shows will just to get them over with the audience. With a lot of the major territories expanding all over the country this year, and MACW only growing into Georgia, some are feeling the pressure to expand further. However, MACW is comfortable in their area right now. The NWA would like to grow, and become more of an international presence, but nothing has been said as to how they'd like to go about that. That's all the news for this round. Good day everyone!
  19. Just as a note: I in error had a match originally listed on 10/7 with Tully Blanchard. But I had him with Lutte Wrestling that day. That was my mistake in trying to catch up, I remembered to keep Superstar Graham off the show, but I put Tully on it.. I have since changed it to with an replacement announced. Sorry for the screw up, and thanks for pointing it out to me.

Time: 13:33 Decision: NEW NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Hart Brothers David and Johnny discuss the new champions winning the titles. NWA Television Championship, Lumberjack Match One-Fall, with a special 30-Minute Time Limit Challenger “Superstar” Billy Graham vs Champion Tully Blanchard (w/ JJ Dillon) Everyone from the previous matches are are ringside as the lumberjacks. They get a few cheap shots in before sending the challenger back in. “Superstar” battles back in, sending Tully to the floor, but it’s on the side of Tully’s friends. They let him rest, as the other wrestlers come over to try to get him back in. A brawl starts on the floor, as Tully is brought back in. The referee is trying to restore order, as JJ is able to pass some brass knuckles to Tully in the confusion. Graham grabs Tully to drop him, but Tully is able to knockout the challenger with the knuckles. Tommy Young counts the three-count and Tully retains the championship. Fuji’s clan get the younger Kendall in their corner and work him over for the majority of the match. Kendall is able to capitalize on a mistake by Pogo, and tag in his brother Barry. Barry is a house of fire, and eventually it breaks down into a pier-six brawl. All ten men brawl, as Andre and Kokina meet in the center of the ring and begin to battle back and forth. Kokina gets a cheap shot to the throat, and attempts to slam Andre, but Andre is able to block the body slam, and execute one of his own. Time: 18:59 Decision: Still NWA World Tag Team Champions The Fantastics One last time we see David and Johnny discuss the upcoming match. The main event of Fall Brawl, a NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match. The All-American wrestler, Bob Backlund against the World champion, Ric Flair. NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match One-Fall, 60-Minute Time Limit Challenger Bob Backlund vs Champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair Technical match for the ages. The powerful, but quick challenger against the witty, “dirtiest player in the game” technical champion. They battle back and forth. Going blow to blow, hold for hold for the first 20 minutes. Flair finally reaches into his bag of tricks to gain the advantage. He grabs a leg and starts to work on it, but he has to fight for it. Backlund is so strong, he’s able to work a great defense. Even though Flair is the aggressor and working the holds, Backlund doesn’t let Flair have anything too long, and looks to be in great condition, even though he’s still on defense. Flair tries for the Figure-Four, but is cradled up for a two-count. Flair is a little frustrated at this point, but Backlund gets to his feet and turns the momentum into his favor. He start to deliver some heavy, powerful shot and grapples to the champion. Flair is on the defensive badly, and rolls to the floor to try and break it up. Backlund follows, and Flair gets him tricked and pushes him into the ring post. Flair rolls him back into the ring for a two-count. Flair feels confident again, working on the leg and knee of the challenger. Backlund is more hurt, and is getting more of the punishment now. But a small mistake by Flair sends him crashing into the turnbuckles after a Backlund push off. Backlund almost gets the win with a rolling cradle. Flair bails to the floor, grabs the title belt and walks around the ring. It looks like he’s trying to leave the ringside. Bob follows him out, and grabs Flair by the hair and tosses him back into the ring. As Backlund returns to the ring, Flair uses the belt against Backlund head to cause the DQ. Bob is bleeding now, Flair just poses in the ring, but as Backlund seems to shake it off and rise up, Flair bails with his title belt and runs toward the locker room. The crowd is hot at the finish, and applaud Backlund for his performance. Time: 43:01 Decision: Bob Backlund, via DQ, Ric Flair retains the NWA World Championship
