I, for one, love this type of discussion because I love theory. Now, it seems that over a dozen people have accused Joey Ryan of some sort of sexual misconduct, ranging from "just" sending unsolicited dick picks to flirting with underage girls, to rape and sexual assault. And those are the accusations we know of. Fucking hell.

Well on the other hand they managed to save those INSANE spots for a title match, which is fine by me. I mean, Montez's agility is dope, but it feels special to preserve it to an actual big match like this one. Same goes for the powerbomb counter they just did. -

Look I just *love* how it takes Charlotte getting an arm injury for me to think "hey now she *might* lose to Asuka". -

What I got from Ospreay is that the accusations against him were of blackballing Pollyanna, because she spoke against a friend of Will's, who is accused of being a rapist. And, while he denies ever blacklisting anyone, a promotion came forward and said that yes, Will Ospreay did cause her to not get booked. And the thing is, while Ospreay is not the worst one in this story (the honour going to his friend), the reason he's on this list is not a minor one.

All those music comparisons remind me of Racionais MCs, the biggest rap group over here in Brazil. With nearly 30 years of career, they sure had their share of mysoginistic lyrics. What did they decided to do? Revisit their content, change lyrics, offer apologies and try to be better. I know sometimes that isn't enough, but it's the least one can do. On the other hand, there are apologies like Travis Banks'

Dream got a title match despite everything. Not expecting Riddle to suffer from this at all. Also, I struggle to think of any feud more unappealing to me than Braun vs Bray.

Wrestling parallels w/ wider cultural trends

Roman wasn't liked when he was talking about beanstalks and suffering succotash, son. When he was a silent, more brooding badass, he was way more accepted. And that kinda fits into the John Wick comparison, when we think about it. Creed was a hit and it spawned a sequel. The Bourne franchise also had a fairly recent movie which was profittable. Fury Road is the greatest action movie ever AND was a box office success. I guess people just don't want one-note, ultra macho characters anymore. Even the James Bond franchise, which is considerably stereotypical, had to addapt to survive. -
Something like this has happened over here in Brazil. Tons of cities made their own #ExposedCities efforts, with lists and personal stories, and from what I could see, it was more about people talking about things they were too anxious or scared or traumatized to share before. I can see why people would raise their eyebrows at how people are going on about this, but at least over here, the accused parties didn't really face much scrutiny besides the exposal.

That, too, might follow the #MeToo route and have one powerful person face consequences, but not all of them. I mean, Kevin Spacey is still basically openly mocking people, so...
