Since so much of it has been dropped on the WWE Network lately, decided to do a show on Mid Atlantic Wrestling from November 1981, with the exact date being up in the air. (Even WWE Network has two different dates) Sandy Scott awkwardly offers up a Cadillac as some sort of undetermined prize, defending Bob Caudle, Piper feuding with Steamboat, Sgt. Slaughter as an all time great, trying to figure out what Jimmy Valiant is, and more. https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/greetings-from-allentown-72-mid-atlantic-wrestling-november-1981
  4. Woof, this one was a slog. Now I read somewhere that they used Flair vs Vader from Starrcade 93 as a template because of it being Shane's hometown. However that really didn't work until the very end as I dont think the crowd was into it until the finish because it was a very slow, methodical match for ECW. Mitigating circumstance: Douglas got hurt at some point. Even still, this should have been 10 minutes shorter but the times on some of these early ECW were very screwy.

    World Cast: A WCCW Review

Please tell me you will keep up the snarkiness once the Freebirds show up. Episode 31 was the snarkiest on record and I want more of it!

    World Cast: A WCCW Review

My Wednesday routine that I like is to watch the WCCW show being covered that week. Most of the time I will read the World Cast show description first, but i didnt this week. 1. I laughed my ass off when I saw Pro Wrestling Illustrated subscriber Jay Saldi at the top. 2. I laughed more when Brian Adidas was announced for the opening match. All that was missing for the triple play was a David Manning 7 minute promo at ringside....too bad he's suspended.
  11. I have to defend the DiBiase theme on these grounds: the "vibe" of the song with "money money money" is a direct lift of "Louie, Louie"....they kind of sound alike. Also Hogan had "Hulk Hogan's Theme" for a hot second between Eye of the Tiger and Real American....and I liked that one quite a bit and so did the guy who composed it since it got reused in "Ravishing" by Bonnie Tyler. Still love Hogan in WCW with "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" and playing the belt like a guitar. Really enjoyed this show.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone

Every wrestling podcast has a "run", and this one seemed to go longer than I anticipated after the run of "Tony can't remember anything" shows. Ending up at 60 or so isn't so bad. With that said, I listened to the Halloween Havoc 95 show the other day while on a run and I laughed so damn hard at Tony working blue that I had to stop because I couldn't breathe so well. At the end of the day, it was at least nice to hear from Tony again after his long self-imposed exile from wrestling.

This week was totally an example of me thinking the show was crappy and then listening thru and realizing "hey...this isn't so bad for a review of a wrestling show watched on a turboprop airplane!" What I enjoyed the most: - my "apology" to Meltzer - finding out about the "WCW Executive committee" guy but unfortunately finding out he's dead (didn't enjoy the last part) - figuring out a proper wrestling Village People lineup. Strongbow has to be the Native American because the Village People version probably wasn't a real Native American either - Watching Regal walk to the ring: seriously, he's the best of all time at that https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/greetings-from-allentown-55-wcw-saturday-night-05-25-1996

    Place to Be Podcast Thread

Is Scott going to do a pop culture corner for Monday, Thursday and Saturday of that one week? One of my favorite movies of all time came out that week.... Probably never going to have a situation again with three shows this close together.

Pete is Blanche kind of by default because you have to be wise-cracking Sophia. What would be even better IMO is a reboot of the show Maude with Parv in the starring role.
