  1. Being a dog is one thing. But an egg suck'n dog - now THAT'S a dog! Segment was gold. Really nice house show in Lexington. King and Welch has me really interested to see what happens in that showdown. It would be a bit easy to predict, but that's part of the reason I can't do it! I'm way in on the goings-on here!
  2. That's quite the haul on the block, there.

Dang man, I almost hate to see USWA go after seeing this show! The moment with Lawler was awesome. I could feel that pop in such a high drama cresting scenario. Awesome to see Rocky get the huge win to become the National Champ. Methinks he's gonna make for good TV and great defenses. Dusty gets a Dusty finish! At least you didn't let the people leave the building celebrating, only to stick the pin in the balloon at next week's TV. Dusty would totally gut folks like that, back in the day lol. Even when you beat Flair, you didn't, lol. That Elimination cage match was great. Was funny, as I watched the Bunkhouse Stampede from 1988 last weekend and it reminded me of how cool matches like this can be. Slater & the Fabs going over in their war of attrition just felt right and a great way to close out the night. Awesome show. Can't wait to see you steer the AWA ship. Kudos.
  4. I really dig the strategic insight given to the matches, describing the in-battle decision-making of the combatants. Man, a powerbomb outside and another inside. Misty being up to conversation in the post-match says a lot about her! Looks like Wendy is on a run that doesn't look like it'll be ending anytime soon. Cool style of writing and producing shows. And always a fun read. Kudos!
  5. WWF adds Steve Lombardi and releases Bill Irwin.
  6. You could have a year's worth of tag team-only supercards and the product would still never get stale. Curious to see how things will shake out with Orton. For a second there I thought the Guerrero's had pulled off the Tag Title win, until I saw it was by count-out. Rock-solid Oregon loop!

Freedom Hall (I'm assuming Louisville?) got one HELLUVA main event tonight! These rivalries are really cresting right now. I needed a ticket.
  8. This whole thing is a barn-burner so far. I need to go top off the butter popcorn & sit back for some more. This is a smash so far, boys!

That bottle spot... man... Dusty/Slater vs. Funk/Tully - sign me up! Way to send the crowd home happy! First, Dusty with the recent win over Funk and now Slater gets the duke on Tully. Great table-setting. Good stuff!

USWA is smoking right about now! The obvious headline out of the TV was Dusty getting the package pinfall on Funk & the classic reaction I can vividly see Funk having as a result. But the nuance winner for me in the show was in the Beauty Shop, when the Bruise Brothers were clearly focused on taking care of business & discussing it, and she chimes in "He's a liar". LMAOOO. Gold segment it was. Great stuff all around. Onwards!
  11. The Santa Barbara show looked like fun to be in the stands for, with such a heavily tag-oriented night. Windham/Rotunda vs. Iron & Steele seemed like a nice rough-n-tumble affair, with a brutal main event Tag Title match capping off the night. Fun stuff.
  12. Edger, I must say this intrigues me. I'll have the popcorn ready.
  13. The WWF releases Steve Blackman.

Oh man... Santa Mike! ...and "banana eating savage"! Now THAT'S good TV! Terry Funk is already a masterful heel Champion in this game. I had that feeling he would be, but man you haven't disappointed. Great character capture. Can't wait to see what happens next.
  15. The WWF cuts: - Johnny Ace - Barry O - Dusty Wolfe - Rene Goulet - Dan Severn - Steve Lombardi

"The Monster is coming! (maniacal laugh) The monster is coming! YES! The monster is coming!" I heard Paul Bearer's voice somewhere in there too! I'm intrigued, bring it on!

Working to get caught up on things, but I just had to chime in on Wrestlestorm! Talk about making a major organizational announcement right out of the chute! Great to see it happen as the PPV takes the air, as opposed to the tail-end of the go-home TV for example. Gives a real sense of venturing into a new world by having it lead off the big supershow. Like the hard-hitting opener with Basserab & Doring. Both guys came across strong, and neither took the fall -- although I sense neither would have been hurt badly if they had. Way to set the tone. Strong was a cool surprise addition to the match, and ended up the straw that stirred the drinks in the 8-Man. Full action right off, ending with the explosive feel-good finish. Talk about heat - in this Money vs. Leave Town affair. Kelly is a heat magnet here, then walks away like nothing happened. Miscarriage of Justice City here! Morrow continues to roll as 1 of the hotter heels in the industry right now. Gotta feel for DJ! Great sendoff ends this chapter in his career. Chain Match time! I knew this would be brutal. Right off the gun, both Ayala & Morgan are slugging it out with fists wrapped in that chain? Yeah... I'm in. The visual of Ayala flinging Morgan across the ring with the chain around his neck, and essentially whiplashing him down in mid-flight was a for-sure "Oh Snap" moment. Followed by a chain-wrapped fist-drop for a... TWO COUNT! Bruh... I did not see that finish coming. Captured the true sense of a real fight that can end at any moment, despite it following an Oh-Snap moment, just prior. Great job here. Match of the night so far, for its abruptness. Speaking of abrupt! Bruise Brothers take out The Elite in short order! Awesome moment. Liking these Central State Tag Titles on the Bruise Brothers. Loving the dominant way they snag them. Good stuff. Almost seemed like David was being sent packing... somewhere... Great TV Title match with St. Clair & Sugar here, which continued to build as time went along. Great near-falls, highlighting each man's desire to end it whenever they sensed daylight. St. Clair getting the duke, retaining the Title, and the somewhat unexpected show of sportsmanship at the end - all felt right, here. LET'S FIGHT! The Rich's vs. Borne & Oliver. Man I could just see every bit of this. It's that Down Home Cookin'-style fightin' that made southern pro wrestling in the 80's so special. Chaotic match. What a heated finish this was. Spike piledriver on the concrete is elementary! And making Borne watch it! Then adding insult with the drinks in the face afterwards, as Oliver lay broken on the arena floor. Man... that's the down home cookin'. Hell to pay, coming out of this. The PPV Intermission used to be a character unto itself! Many of us are old enough to remember that used to be a thing. George gets the poetic win. To me, that's the right finish for the right moment. Cooley & Armstrong with the great tag fluidity, acing out the Violent Gentlemen to win the Titles. Great attack by the Rich's to pour more chicken grease on an already hated duo on this night. Building blocks underway for this rivalry moving forward. Nothing like ruining a title celebration to make things more personal than they'd have otherwise been. Man, what a brutal fight with Colon & Singh! Again, the simplistic, straightforward nature of the night's most graphic fights is what makes these battles "feel" more visceral to the viewer. An art form, to be sure. The big USWA Tag Title bout! The Gunslingers have themselves one of the damndest tag wars they've had, and outlast Karachi Vice to win gold!!... Or did they!?... Somewhere, Dusty twitched with a smirk. Certainly plays on the rising and falling dynamic of an audience's emotions. Curious to see the fallout from this one. Slater with the dominating finish to win the Central States Title! See what I discussed earlier about the straightforward nature of these battles. That closing flurry from Slater were of a man desperately seeking to win a fight & put his adversary out. And that he did in grand fashion! The Moment of Truth: The war everyone's been waiting for! And man, did it ever not disappoint! The heat was palpable in the air. Both of these greats beat the literally fire out of each other. The physicality just bleeds through the screen here! Exhausted from this war of attrition, an incidental collision puts them both out... except Funk lands second & finds himself Champion 3 seconds later! What a fight! What a finish! Funker is the Champ! As much as I wouldn't have been shocked that Terry might come out on top after all that's happened prior to tonight, my gut had King prevailing. What an historic moment! Can't wait for the fallout from this one, as this rivalry has been pure gold. Wow... the vibe in that building as that show ended, as they file out to the corridor & then to the parking lot... man. Then again, look who's talking! Excellent show! Lived up to the great hype & then some. Lot of new beginnings, and the coming TV's should be top-notch as a result. Looking forward to it. Keep up the great work.

LOVE the show hitting the air with the 4-way parking lot brawl with the Rich's and Borne & Oliver. Great tone-setter. Only to be followed shortly thereafter by more bad blood with King & Funk. Strong character capture with Funk's abrupt one-word awkward insults. Great standoff with Bruise Bothers & The Elite. Good contrast drawn among the characters. Nice positioning with making Sugar the underdog who won't be disrespected going into his TV Title shot. Really makes ya wanna see him go over, the way he's being overlooked to his face. King out to further solidify the bad blood going into the big upcoming main event. A World Title steel cage main event -- that'll NEVER WORK! Good stuff here. Really looking forward to seeing how Wrestlestorm 2 unfolds! Really nice builds going in, it seems!
