  1. The Nastys didn't last too long with Sherri as she sent them on their way. I think she's better off with just Bigelow anyway who will go farther in the long run. Speaking of Ho's, Duggan has his sights set on Sherri and Bam Bam. That might be a tall order but it would certainly be a signature feud to put the rest of WCW on notice. While there are a couple of promotions that could probably make a similar claim about being THE top promotion, I think WCW has the feet to fill those shows. You have some of the top guys in the business, good tag teams, international stars that get regular work as Gary Hart hustles them in and so on. I don't think I have seen too many claims as to being the top dog or even having that as their goal but WCW may the one guy to back it up. Impressive debut win for Koko Ware not only Uncle Ivan but also having to deal with the rest of the corner.
  2. Did not see the twist of Idol and Mantell as the Assassins. Really thought Dundee and Keirn had it all wrapped up. Well played. Gordy with a title is a good thing. Pretty sure Landel won't take lying down.
  3. Ray Odyssey still didn't make it to IPW.. He must be taking the long route from the east coast.
  4. IPW drops: Bart Sawyer Mountain Lou Peggy Lee Leather IPW adds: Sylvia (Robert Fuller's ex-wife) Referee Jerry Calhoun Ray Odyssey never made it to my roster. He sort of did under Peggy Lee Odyssey.
  5. Pre-taping Match Ken Jugan and Johnny Weiss battle to a time limit draw. International Pro Wrestling Excited Voiceover: You are watching International Pro Wrestling from the KAIT Channel 8 television studios! Wrestling action whizzes by quickly over music, showing the stars of International Pro Wresting. Drop kick here, monkey flip there, big swinging neck breaker there. When the music comes to a stop, the camera pans the studio and the loud studio audience ready for some wrestling action! Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice welcome everyone to International Pro Wrestling's exciting "Power Half Hour. They are joined by the team of Jamie Dundee and Bruno Spazzinsky. The pair talk about last week's match against the Arkansas Terrors and their battles over the past few months that has now come to an end. They ask if anyone knows if Dark Journey is backstage which both Buddy Lee and Bert acknowledge that she is. Jamie and Bruno ask her to come out and join them. The beauty comes out and the talk turns to Dark Journey's past few weeks with the Terrors losing both her and her services for the last year, the two masked men attacking her and client Brian Knighton leaving for Bill Ash. She says it has not been a good year. Jamie and Bruno understand which is why they asked her out here today. Before going to air, the two of them had a little chat with Commissioner Rip Tyler as Jamie produces the contract turning over her services to Dundee and Bruno. They talked it over and came to a mutual decision as Jamie tears up the contract! Despite the terms being extended for the rest of the year, they want to "Do the right thing" and release her from all obligations. Throwing it in the air like confetti, Jamie and Bruno walk off, leaving Dark Journey speechless! Buddy Lee throws it to a commercial! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We come back from the break with our hosts having been joined by Tom Renesto Jr. who is back on last week's kick about him and his brother being the rightful heirs to the #1 Contenders. He continues on about the front office holding them back in favor of a guy who first, lost to the Tag Team Champions AND no longer has a tag team partner who was injured by said Champions ... WAIT A SECOND! HERE COMES RENO RIGGINS AND HE DOESN'T LOOK ALL THAT HAPPY! HE GOES RIGHT FOR RENESTO AND WE HAVE A BRAWL! The two start battling their way towards the ring and Renesto wants the bell! Match #1 Tom Renesto Jr. versus Reno Riggins The two fight tooth and nail around the ring with very little by way of actual wrestling moves making it tough on the referee. They go back and forth without trying to pin the other. They continue this way for some five or so minutes before Tim Renesto makes his way out from the back and gets into the ring, stepping between the two and trying to get them to stop. They try to go through Tim Renesto as the referee calls for the bell, bringing this one to an end. The two keep talking as Tim pulls Tom away while the referee and Bert Prentice pull Reno Riggins away. Jackie Fargo comes out all smiles and greets Buddy Lee. He talks about all the talent here from the great State of Tennessee. Buddy Lee acknowledges that alot of the wrestlers here have wrestled in Tennessee before as Tennessee isn't all that far away. He asks the real reason why Fargo is here? He says it is to make them an offer they can't refuse ... HOLD ON! HERE COMES BILL ASH AND BRIAN KNIGHTON! Ash says Fargo can come out here and trash Arkansas and all these toothless hillbillies all he wants but no way no how is anyone from Tennessee gonna come out here and put down Arkansas wrestling! This is his Arkansas and these are his toothless hillbillies! Fargo says he never said anything about bad wrestling ... HERE COMES THE AMERICAN AND CODY MICHAELS! After squaring off, Bert Prentice returns to the fray and tells the masked man and Michaels to take Fargo back as Buddy Lee sends us to a commercial break! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We return to the program with Bert and Buddy talking about what went on before the break. Bert thinks Jackie Fargo is up to something but doesn't know what just yet. Buddy Lee sends us to the ring. Match #2 Tag Team Title Match: Tojo Yamamoto & the New Guinea Head Hunter (C) versus The Shadows. Slow beginning to things as Tojo throws salt into the ring to purify it and Buddy Lee explains. The referee does his best to speed things along but backs quickly away when the Head Hunter makes a move towards him. When they are good and ready, they jump their opponents and mop up the ring with them. It is all Tojo and the Head Hunter as they take turns beating up one man then the other. Punishment is the word of the day as neither man tries to pin an opponent, drawing the boobirds. Finally, Tojo with a throat strike and the Head Hunter's nerve hold has one of the Shadows surrendering. A few extra stomps before they head to the back to the loudest booing of the evening. Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice with a big thank you and a reminder to join us next week for more International Pro Wrestling action!
  6. As someone who loved ECW because it was different, I agree with you on the Nasty Boys. It was a disappoint that they were Sherri's news. Now, they will probably thrive under her because that is what she does, I just don't think they are all that deserving of her talent.
  7. Oh I agree with you on the heel issue rather than as a face. I was thinking a heel turn for the Rockers. Maybe not so much as the "Shit Heels" but more as Cocky Heels. Sherri's still a looker in '88 which plays into the looks department which was the huge appeal of the Rockers. Have no fear, I am along for the ride.
  8. Not bad for a last second replacement. Scott Steiner is starting to make a name for himself. Not good for Manny however. Tatum was all those things and more! Seeing him him drunkenly cry to the police while fighting with girlfriend Missy in the parking lot of his apartment complex. Oh was that fun. Big differences between Murdoch and Ladd. That pointy hatted Halloween ghost costume of Dick's was the hit of the party or at least for the ones he attended. Funny, that everyone wore the same costume. Say bye bye to the Big Guy Vader! Won't be missed as there are lots of others who fill the same role with similar styles. Butch Reed turns on Dusty ... Dusty needs to screen his friends better in the future! Big Dust chasing Butch can be fun though he may have to even up the odds some. Good stuff for the 4th.
  9. Big show coming and if I wasn't getting married on Saturday, I'd love to boo REO Speedwagon.
  10. Nice win for Chip and Champion over a young but pretty good team in Champion and Royal to win the US title I was surprised by the finish of the Garvin Garvin match. JYD was a pleasant surprise and gets right into a big program with DeBeers. Should be a good one. Terry Taylor with a big win and Bruiser Brody with a last hurrah but falling short against Tully Blanchard.
  11. That was an action packed episode of TV. Dirty Dutch with a upgrade in bodyguard in Mr. Hughes. Douglas is going to have some big paybacks coming his way one of these days. Leduc coming in to aid Slater makes for a scary duo. Would not want to be in the receiving end of these two.
  12. Big win for Brian Christopher. A few more like that under his belt and he is a shoo-in for a title shot. With the division as loaded as it is, Cheetah Kid and Brian Christopher would be low on my list as to who I thought would be top guys but they keep winning.
  13. IPW drops Al Farat Debbie T. Wild Pat Rose Prissie Purcell Trudy Adams Ursula Hayden IPW signs Peggy Lee Leather Ray Odyssey
  14. Pre-taping Match Lock with a little help from Luna pins Brandy Mae x-x-x-x-x ROLL THE TAPE! x-x-x-x-x Taped ending from the 4th of July as Pat Rose reaches the locked cage door first and the referee moves to open the door from the outside. Brian Knighton comes out of nowhere and gets into a verbal altercation with the referee, delaying him just enough for Bill Ash to escape the cage over the top and hit the floor before Pat Rose is out the door once Knighton is run off by Rip Tyler. x-x-x-x-x END THE TAPE! x-x-x-x-x International Pro Wrestling Excited Voiceover: You are watching International Pro Wrestling from the KAIT Channel 8 television studios! Lots to get to today in the aftermath of the 4th of July in Paragould! They are joined by Pat Rose who shakes hands with both. He says he's a little disappointed by the outcome of the match but had Bill Ash where he wanted him and still came up short. He could have escaped the cage earlier in the match but decided to stay a little longer to take out a little bit of that frustration for all the months of shenanigans from the IPW Champion. While it felt good to bloody Ash, winning the match would have been the smarter way to go. When asked what's next for him, it is Bill Ash who answers ... Ash says the only thing for Pat Rose has left to do here is say good bye and get to steppin'! He promised all these "wonderful people" a win or he'd leave Arkansas and guess what? That didn't happen. Hit the road Jack and don't look back! Boos turn to cheers as they are joined by Commissioner Rip Tyler. Rip does not look too happy. Rip waits for the noise to die down before speaking. He agrees with what Pat Rose said ... Bill Ash and his shenanigans for the past several months. He also agrees that Pat Rose COULD have won that match earlier had he left the cage but chose instead to beat Bill Ash black and blue and while he is of the mind to throw out the decision in the match because of Brian Knighton's verbal interference ... he isn't going to do that and the match stands as is. Bill Ash won the match and is still the IPW Heavyweight Champion ... NOW, as for what he is going to do ... he is going to fine Brian Knighton $100 for interference in the match ... AND ... for his part behind this, he is going to fine Bill Ash $500! Ash goes ballistic! As for Pat Rose, well ... that is up to him. The fans don't want Rose to leave. He says he has always been a man of his word and that is never going to change. If the decision was reversed or had Knighton physically restrained the referee from opening the door, he might change his mind but as it is ... PAT ROSE IS GOOD TO HIS WORD AND IS LEAVING IPW ... THE ONLY THING HE ASKS ... BEFORE HE GOES, HE WANTS ONE LAST CHANCE TO DELIVER SOME PAYBACKS TO BRIAN KNIGHTON TODAY! The fans don't like it as the Rose shakes hands and Buddy Lee throws it to a commercial! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x An unhappy Dark Journey comes out alone to some cheers and jeers from the fans as well as a few snide comments from Bert Prentice who she tells to shut his mouth. When asked what she's doing out here, she says she wants the Terrors to come on out. The two masked men come out to a heavy dose of booing. She wants to know what these two IDIOTS were thinking when they made the match with Dundee and Spazzinsky? She already knows the answer ... they weren't thinking because they are IDIOTS! She's the brains behind the operation, not them. Bert interjects the way things stand now, it won't be until next year when she can be the brains behind these two. Her answer is to slap both of the masked men in the face. They look at each other before grabbing her and dragging her off towards the ring. Both Buddy Lee and Bert, taken by surprise try to talk the Terrors out of what they are doing then calling for some help from the back ... Getting her in the ring, they set her up for a PILEDRIVER! HERE SOMES THE CAVALRY! JAMIE DUNDEE AND BRUNO SPAZZINSKY HIT THE RING AND COME UP SWINGING! THEY DROP DJ WHO SCURRIES OUT OF THE RING! Match #1 Jamie Dundee & Bruno Spazzinsky versus the Arkansas Terrors. We have a brawl in the ring which leads to a double back body drop before the Terrors hightail it to the outside. Jamie wipes them both out as he dives to the outside and brings the fans to their feet. Rolling them back into the ring, the good guys work some double team moves and don't allow their opponents to get back into the match. Jamie with the Bomb's Away puts one of the Terrors down before launching Bruno from the top for the pinfall. The defeated Terrors slink away as Jamie and Bruno celebrate with the fans and Bert Prentice as Dark Journey watches on. Jamie Dundee: We've beaten the Arkansas Terrors up one side of the state and down the other! We've taken their manager away from them for the rest of the year! If that doesn't say we're done with you, I don't know what does! Bruno: YEAH! Buddy Lee sends us to a commercial break! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We return to the program with Bert and Buddy having been joined by Reno Riggins. They talk about the disappointing loss to Tojo Yamamoto and the New Guinea Headhunter and more importantly, Riggins' partner Dancing Wolf who was taken away by ambulance following their match in Paragould. Riggins talks about the Headhunter's nerve hold that has done damage to Dancing Wolf who is going to be out of action for the foreseeable future. How bad the damage is and for how long he is going to be on the shelf is anyone's guess at this point while we wait to hear from the doctors running tests. In the mean time, he is going to find someone to ... Tom Renesto Jr. makes his way out and interrupts. While it is unfortunate what happened to his partner, it is time for Reno Riggins to step aside and let someone else to have a crack at the IPW Champions. They had their chance and quite a few of them as a matter of fact while the Renestos were pushed to the side. It is time for the BEST tag team in IPW to get their chance ... Riggins takes exception and goes nose to nose with Renesto until brother Tim Renesto comes out and pulls his brother away. Buddy Lee sends us to the ring. Match #2 Brian Knighton versus Pat Rose Knighton jumps Rose before the bell and rattles him. He batters Rose in the corner before moving him along the ropes and shooting him off. On the return, Rose goes down from a stiff clothesline. Knighton struts his stuff before going for the lazy cover that nets a one count. A suplex and Knighton is strutting around the ring again to a chorus of boos. Buddy Lee thinks it is a mistake to toy with an opponent, especially one with nothing to lose. Knighton pulls Rose up by the hair and slaps him in the face before hooking him up for another suplex. Rose blocks it, turns the big guy, laying him out with a snap suplex of his own. A second and a third one follow before Rose hooks a leg but Knighton is able to get a shoulder up. Pulled to his feet, Knighton is put into an abdominal stretch but is able to hip toss Rose off of him. A boot stomping follows and a cover for a two count. Irish whip is followed by a shoulder tackle that puts Rose down. Leg drop misses as Rose rolls out of the way. Pulled to his feet, Rose nails Knighton with elbows to the midsection. Irish whip and Rose catches Knighton on the return ... SLEEPER HOLD! Knighton flails his arms looking for an escape but the ring vet locks it in. The referee checks ... arm falls ... second time, the arm falls ... third time, the arm falls! The referee calls for the bell as Pat Rose has put Brian Knighton to sleep! At the urging of the referee, a sharp strike to the back of Knighton brings him to as he flops on the mat for a minute before remembering what just happened to him. Rose leaves the ring as the fans cheer one last time for him. Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice with a big thank you and a reminder to join us next week for more International Pro Wrestling action!
  15. From the Wednesday edition of The Paragould Daily Press ... International Pro Wrestling 7-4-1988 Greene County Fairgrounds Paragould, Arkansas
  16. Glad to see Sherri and was pumped for her big news but was kind of let down by it being the Nasties. I think the Rockers would have been better off with her to offset Slick in their battles with the Towers. The '88 Up-and-comers would have been a bigger signing than the Not-Going-Anywhere Nasties ... but that is just me.
  17. ... and Last Stop Tour's favorite band, REO Speedwagon give WrestleRock promos. You know I had to laugh at that! This TV did everything it needed to do and more. You sold WrestleRock to anyone sitting on the fence about it. You also put some doubt out there about Nikita's ability to come in and challenge Bad News Brown for the title. Really good stuff ... MINUS REO Speedwagon.
  18. Pre-taping Match Pat Rose totally dominates the White Shadow International Pro Wrestling Excited Voiceover: You are watching International Pro Wrestling from the KAIT Channel 8 television studios! Wrestling action whizzes by quickly over music, showing the stars of International Pro Wresting. Drop kick here, monkey flip there, big swinging neck breaker there. When the music comes to a stop, the camera pans the studio and the loud studio audience ready for some wrestling action! Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice welcome everyone to International Pro Wrestling's exciting "Power Half Hour before being joined by #1 Contender Pat Rose following his match before going to air ... They talk about the upcoming 4th of July show from the Greene County Fair Grounds in Paragould! Bill Ash defends the IPW Heavyweight Title against #1 Contender, Pat Rose! They talk about the previous matches and how Bill Ash has either cheated his way to a victory or has disqualified himself time and time again ... this time however, Pat Rose promises a victory! They are joined by Commissioner Rip Tyler who comes out to a cheer. Tyler doesn't want to waste anytime and gets right to it. He agrees with Pat Rose's assessment of his previous matches against Bill Ash and any lack of a clean finish of any kind. What he wants and what the fans want is to see who is the better wrestler ... which of these two men can come out on top in a wrestling match? In order to facilitate that, Rip is ordering this match be in ... A CAGE! There will be no running, no hiding! Finish your opponent inside the cage ... pin him ... submit him ... or escape the cage! We will have a winner once and for all! The fans cheer and Pat Rose is one happy fellow ... he says that if he can't beat Bill Ash, then he doesn't deserve to wrestle in Arkansas and will leave IPW! Two shake on it as Buddy Lee throws it to a commercial! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We go to the ring for our first match ... Match #1 Johnny Weiss versus Oliver Humperdink w/Lock & Luna Humperdink with a little help from his girls is able to put Weiss away in a tune up match. Humperdink has a few words with the fans on his way out as the girls bark and growl. Once they leave, the IPW Heavyweight Champion is out. Drawing boos from the fans, Bill Ash says he agrees with them and they should be booing ... against RIP TYLER! Once again, Tyler has worked to stack the deck against YOUR IPW Champion, the best wrestler in the territory! Now, he must defend the title inside a cage where Pat Rose will be allowed to cheat and use foreign objects to his heart's content! How is that fair or sporting? Bert Prentice jumps in and the two go back and forth as Ash is called delusional ... Brian Knighton has come out for a third straight week and Ash groans when he sees him. What now? Knighton apologizes but thinks the two of them have gotten off on the wrong foot and just needs a minute to hear him out ... Ash tells him he's got 60 seconds ... GO! Knighton says that Ash is right, he wants something from the Champ but where he's wrong ... Brian Knighton wants no sympathy ... Brian Knighton wants no charity ... he's not here for a handout and the keys to the kingdom ... no, this not that at all ... 20 seconds ... Knighton reaches into his pocket and pulls out an envelope, handing it over to Ash ... this is TOTALLY A BUSINESS PROPOSITION! Ash's eyes light up when he opens the envelope. Nodding his head, Ash tells the youngster to come with him ... Buddy Lee wants to know what that was all about as Bert says NO GOOD most likely before he sends us to a commercial break! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We return to the program with Bert and Buddy hyping the 4th of July show in Paragould at the Greene County Fair Grounds. Bill Ash defends the IPW Heavyweight Title against #1 Contender, Pat Rose IN A CAGE! The Best of Seven Series continues for the Tag Team Titles! Jamie Dundee and Bruno Spazzinsky square off against the Arkansas Terrors, Brian Knighton squares off against Cody Michaels, ... and much, much more! Pleasant surprise as IPW is visited by Memphis Legend Jackie Fargo! Warmly greeted, Fargo sits in on commentary for the next match as Buddy Lee sends it to the ring! Match #2 The American & Cody Michaels versus Black Ninja & The Cuban Assassin. The masked man is joined by the flag waving Cody Michaels and salutes the fans who cheer him on and chant "USA! USA!" as they enter the ring. Their opponents jump them before the bell and get right to business. Fargo talks about the number of Memphis talent here in Arkansas and wants to extend an open invitation to the likes of Jamie Dundee, Plowboy Frazier, Bruno, Cowboy Tony and the rest which gets Bert a little hot under the collar who tells him there is a reason why they, including him left the Memphis area. Regardless, Jerry Jarrett would love to have them back which is why he's here ... Inside the ring, it is a barnburner with the American and Cody finally isolating the Ninja and finishing him off to pick up the win. After the match, the Cuban Assassin gets a chair but when the good guys bail the ring, CA uses it on his partner. The fans cheer as Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice with a big thank you and a reminder to join us next week for more International Pro Wrestling action! One last plug hyping the 4th of July show in Paragould at the Greene County Fair Grounds!
  19. Archie Andrews wasn't seconded by Betty and Veronica? At least he can say he had a shot at the title. I'm betting the match against the Carolina Reapers was a hot one? Or maybe not. With Michael Hayes as the referee, I think Jimmy's stock rose quite a bit in a match against Ronnie Garvin.
  20. Tommy Rich being on the payroll does change up things a little bit though I doubt it will keep him from interfering and attacking Dirty Dick. Looking forward to the tag match in two weeks. Should be a real slobberknocker. Rogers/Street continues on it's path. With Teri in Rip's corner, it is hard to see Street as the face here. Just throwing this out there ... IF ... you need additional teams for the tag tournament, "the other" promotion in our neck of the woods would be more than happy to send their champions.
  21. The Cheetah Kid lost the title?!?!? Say it isn't so and to Brookside of all people? With a light heavy line-up like you have and Brookside wins? NO!!!!! As soon as I read "Neighborhood of Evil", Mr. Rogers theme music started to play in my head.
  22. All you have to do is sell the big show. Not much thinking to be done at that point as all the work has already been put in. All the celebrities look MINUS REO Speedwagon. UGH! Not the best choice of musical talent. The show itself is going to be a good one. Would not be surprised if one or more title changes hands.
  23. Pre-taping Match The Cuban Assassin defeats Ken Jugan. Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice welcome everyone to International Pro Wrestling's exciting "Power Half Hour before being joined by commissioner Rip Tyler ... Rip talks about the upcoming 4th of July holiday and in Arkansas, that means wrestling! From the Greene County Fair Grounds, IPW returns to Paragould! Big show means big matches! Bill Ash defends the IPW Heavyweight Title against #1 Contender, Pat Rose! The Best of Seven Series continues for the Tag Team Titles! Jamie Dundee and Bruno Spazzinsky square off against the Arkansas Terrors ... and much, much more! FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW, THE HOUSE OF HUMPERDINK IS IN THE STUDIO! Humperdink wants a match added to the card! He wants that low life Sean David Baxter in the ring again! This time, to make sure there is no cheating like the last match, he wants it 2 out of 3 falls! This way, the TRUE wrestling professional will not be cheated out of a victory as he was! Bert argues that Humperdink is delusional and last week, the better man won! Like his father, the Wrestling Pro, Sean David Baxter is not one to back down from a fight, Bert is sure, he will be happy to accept the terms! The ladies growl and snap at Bert to make him back away. Buddy Lee diffuses the situation as he throws it to a commercial! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We go to the ring for our first match ... Match #1 The Intern #3 versus Brian Knighton. Masked man takes a beating from the youngster who seems to relish the beating. Toys with he Intern before finally putting him away. After the match, Champion Bill Ash makes his way out to a chorus of boos and joins our hosts. He complains about having to ONCE AGAIN put his title on the line against the biggest cheat in the territory, Pat Rose. Bert argues with Ash about him being the cheat and not the other way around! In any case, he's not doing it! They are joined by Brian Knighton which seems to anger the Champ. Knighton is very polite as he talks about the Piledriver in Memphis as well as the DDT both moves that have been labeled as lethal and banned in some territories ... what isn't talked about is the Arkansas Whiplash which Bert goes on to explain is Bill Ash's Rear Flying Chinlock ... He is cut off by Ash who tells him that he doesn't know what he's asking for ... the most lethal move in all of professional wrestling before storming off! The fans cheer as Buddy Lee sends us to a commercial break! x-x-x-x-x COMMERCIAL BREAK x-x-x-x-x We return to the program with Bert and Buddy joined by Jamie Dundee, Bruno Spazzinsky and Dark Journey. Dundee is carrying a gift wrapped box which Bert asks about. Jamie and Bruno talk about "the gift" that is a long time coming as they have been kind of hard on the refined lady that Dark Journey is. She is surprised by the gift but is hesitant to open it for fear of it blowing up or something. Both men swear on thier lives that it is all on the up and up. She opens it and pulls out a new pair of overalls. They laugh along with the fans until the Arkansas Terrors come out. Dundee and Bruno are ready for a fight but the Terrors are here only to talk. They are ready to end this once and for all so they have a proposal ... since they have a match for the 4th of July, if the Terrors win, they get Dark Journey back early. All bets are off on the 3 month stipulation. And if Jamie and Bruno win? The Terrors say they can KEEP HER FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! The fans howl as it sinks in with Dark Journey and she goes ballistic! A laughing Buddy Lee sends it to the ring! Match #2 The American versus Johnny Weiss. The flag waving masked man is the favorite as he salutes the fans and they cheer him on and chant "USA! USA!" as he enters the ring. Weiss attacks from behind to get things started and puts the boots to the man which draws the ire of the fans. Bert is beside himself on commentary as The American fights his way back into the match before taking over. He gets the pinfall with the flying crossbody and gets a standing ovation ... IT'S THE CUBAN ASSASSIN AND HE ATTACKS THE AMERICAN FROM BEHIND! THE CUBAN MADMAN PUTS THE BOOTS TO THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE ... IT'S CODY MICHAELS TO THE RESCUE! HE CHASES OFF THE CUBAN ASSASSIN BEFORE HELPING THE AMERICAN TO HIS FEET! The fans cheer as Buddy Lee and Bert Prentice with a big thank you and a reminder to join us next week for more International Pro Wrestling action!
  24. International Pro Wrestling 6-17-1988 ASU Armory Jonesboro, Arkansas The Jonesboro Armory played host to a heated evening of professional wrestling , both figuratively and literally. The ladies kicked off the action as Oliver Humperdink's Lock and Luna were victorious over Debbie T. Wild and Brandy Mae. Sean David Baxter rolled up Oliver Humperdink, Cody Michaels outwrestled Brian Knighton, Jamie Dundee and Bruno Spazzinsky won over the Arkansas Terrors in a Scaffold Match, Tojo Yamamoto and the New Guinea Head Hunter took the Best of Seven Series to three matches over two against Reno Riggins and Dancing Wolf and Bill Ash successfully defended his title against Pat Rose by disqualification. 1. Lock and Luna were a sight to see, unlike anything seen in these (or most parts for that matter). Savage animals were controlled by a shrewd Oliver Humperdink. 2. Youngster Baxter showed he could actually wrestle taking the match totally by surprise when he rolled up Humperdink. 3. Thoroughly outwrestled, Knighton beaned Cody Michaels with a chair afterwards. 4. An entertaining match, Dundee and Spazzinsky saw their value rise with another victory over their nemesis. Several attempts but no real success to speak of, Dark Journey was kepy in check by being left on the "ground floor". 5. The Best of Seven Series saw Tojo Yamamoto and the New Guinea Headhunter move forward to the win and break the 2-2 tie that was in place before the match. When the smoke cleared, Dancing Wolf needed help to get to the back. 6. In a reversal of things, Champion Bill Ash retained his title by Disqualification of all things when the ref called the match after seeing the challenger, Pat Rose standing over a prone Ash, holding a chain.
