This was a boatload of fun, it was like the previous trios match from Mexico, only Rambo added more to the match than Lozansky. Casas and Los Cowboys have easily been the standout workers for me on this set.

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Sting vs Lex Luger
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
The match wasn't anything special, but the reaction to Sting's win was awesome, showing that was definitely interest in seeing Sting as champion.- 16 replies

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Rick Rude vs Ricky Steamboat
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
The heat for Rude was absolutely insane. This was excellent stuff, as hate filled as you'd expect after the angle at the Clash, and their selling was great. Rude couldn't even use his arm to do his pose.- 24 replies

Count me in with those who think this is excellent, but overrated. The Dustin/Austin portion kills it for me, despite Dustin's willingness to bump like a madman for Austin's lariats, but they were both really green compared to their partners so it's not a surprise that they fall short compared to their much more experienced partners. This was exactly the sort of intense and hateful brawl needed to keep this whole feud going toward War Games.

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Jushin Liger vs Brian Pillman
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
This isn't great, but it's good. Like was already said, this was ahead of its time in the U.S. but doesn't hold a candle to what was going on in Mexico and Japan during the same time frame. Pillman's dropkick to Lyger while he was in the air was the most direct hit I've EVER seen someone make doing that spot.- 22 replies

Lawler and Jarrett's gear is hideous! This was fun, like this whole feud has been, but this is a case of less is more. Too many people involved, although it was necessary for the babyfaces to finally get one up on the Moondogs. Richard Lee's promo afterwards was good too.
-
Holy Crow, this was fun. Thanks to Embry, this feud has been almost as fun as the Moondog stuff. Too bad that Embry never made it to the big two.

Heel Jake was just so fucking great, he should have been turned back heel at least a couple of years before the WWF finally did it in '91. Jake is phenomenal here.

[1992-02-27-AJPW-Excite Series] Jumbo Tsuruta vs Kenta Kobashi
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
Considering the participants, this was actually disappointing to me, even thought it's clearly a good match. They got a little too into the bomb throwing at the end for my taste. Maybe seeing a complete version will help, I dunno.- 14 replies

[1992-02-24-WWF-Worcester, MA] Ric Flair vs Roddy Piper (Cage)
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
The footage is pretty rough, compared to the other stuff on here, but this is a fun outing. I especially liked that in addition to the typical spot where the heel is almost out and the babyface pulls him back up and in, that Flair also got to do that to Piper. The finish was fun with Flair outsmarting himself to lose. -
You can scrap that Kawada/Tenzan match, they had one in NJPW that was much better earlier in the year. Tenzan/Kojima vs. Doc/Hines from April wouldn't be a bad inclusion.

[1992-02-24-PWFG] Yoshiaki Fujiwara vs Yusuke Fuke
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
This is pretty much a clinic on the fun aspects of shoot style. The matwork is great, especially their counters, and Fujiwara's leg kicks are positively sick.- 9 replies

This was crazy amounts of fun, everything just hit on all cylinders and nobody did anything to drag it down. The more of this set I watch, specifically the Dangerous Alliance stuff, the more I think that 1992 is the year for great multiman matches.

This was a fun brawl, and a hot angle to end the TV show with. Too bad the Koloffs didn't stick around, but Fulton Bros would soon have the Bodies to feud with.

[1992-02-22-USWA-TV] Jeff Jarrett and the Moondogs
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
"It looks like Jeff bought a hardware store!" I don't know why Lee and the Moondogs took a powder, Jeff was throwing everything in the ring, they had a chance to get it and use it first. -
I can't believe I'd never heard of this match until now, this was loads of fun. It really looks like Kawada and Kikuchi are finished as soon as the match starts, and even during the final stretch, Kroffat is holding his own while he's in there with Kawada, which seems odds until you remember that Kawada was still just Misawa's #2, not anywhere close to being a top level guy.

[1992-02-21-GWF] Eddie Gilbert vs Big Bad John
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
Prichard looks like he should be a member of Dokken with that hair. This was a fun David vs. Goliath sort of match, although it was disappointing to see Gilbert adhere to the stip. If he really wanted to emulate Lawler, he'd have thrown a fireball at BBJ and hit the bricks- 9 replies

Finally, a trios match from Mexico that seems worthy of standing alongside the Dangerous Alliance and Misawa/Jumbo matches. I dug this a ton, but, then again, it's five of the best in the world along with Mike Lozansky, and it's not like Lozansky does anything to kill the flow (although he seemed to take his sweet time finishing off Hamada in the second fall).

[1992-02-15-WCW-Pro] Rick Rude vs Brian Pillman
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
This was great stuff, Rude went above and beyond to make Pillman look good, especially selling his leg, and giving Pillman a few close near falls, but manages to take the opening and eek out the win.- 15 replies

It's sad that Barry will be mostly remembered, if at all, as the jobber who patted himself on the back. He was great here, showing a bunch of personality and looking pretty good in the ring. I don't think I've seen anyone break a sleeperhold the way Barry did. Fun finish with Barry seeming to have it won, only for it to slip away. He came from ahead to lose.

This was an interesting promo. Paul E. reminds everyone that he used to sit in the booth and praise the Steiners as the best team in the world, and Anderson laments to "JR" that he thinks there's something wrong with the world when people with college degrees can't get jobs. In the story of his career, Bobby stays in the background and says nothing.

Flair and Savage are both great, Hogan and Sid, much less so. Honestly, Sid didn't even really threaten Brutus all that much, it was Flair and UT who were prepared to do some damage.

[1992-02-15-USWA-TV] The Moondogs vs Brian Collins & Ricky Hutchens
MikeCampbell replied to Loss's topic in February 1992
I wonder if any of the TV jobbers ever left when the lineup sheet was posted and they saw that they were booked against the Moondogs? These two fare just as well as everyone else has.- 10 replies
