    Harley Race

I was sorta down on Harley and looked at him as a "fun" but ultimately disappointing wrestler, but the Houston footage really started to make me rethink that and now he's one of the bigger names I want to think about this time around and possibly dive into. It seems like his case is juicier now than it was going into the 2016 project.

    Kintaro Oki

^ Looking forward to this match. Gotta say, I've really enjoyed every single Kintaro Oki match I've watched thus far. I wasn't expecting him to be the first "unknown" (to me) guy I really explored but I've just sort of stumbled into it and keep seeing matches I like. Thanks to everyone for these recs.
  3. Lucha brawls might be the answer because the best of them are so transcendent that even people who "don't like lucha" can see what the big deal is. Something like Satanico vs Perro Aguayo is the furthest thing from choreographed that there is.
  4. Cool. I can't get into modern NJPW for the same reason. BUt that's not what this thread is about. This thread is about the stuff we think is the best.

    Ashura Hara

    Awesome! Thank you!
  6. I know this project is about Who is the Greatest Wrestler, but I was wondering What people think is the Greatest Wrestling? Is 90s AJPW Pillars the best wrestling ever got? Modern NJPW? The best Shoot Style? Is it the French stuff?90s Joshi? Lucha brawls? 80s North American Territories? What do you think is the greatest style of wrestling and why do you think that?

    Ashura Hara

Can someone recommend where to start with 70s Ashura Hara? I love him in the 80s & early 90s as an old fat tough motherfucker but I would love to check out his IWE stuff but need a push in the right direction.

    Pirata Morgan

At his best, someone who could do everything in the ring. Another one on my list, but I want to dig around more to better figure out where.
  9. I just watched Aoyagi vs Shiro Koshinaka 5/1/92, a match I completely forgot about and damn it was awesome. Some of my favorite matches like the Onita & LIger matches mentioned above, are Aoyagi matches. Is there anything else on that level?

    Riki Choshu

If your hair is in your eyes, you're leaving yourself open for Akira Maeda to waltz over and break your face. Misawa must have worked a match with Satanico when he went to Mexico in the 80s and never forgot the trauma.
  11. Hashimoto was 24th in 2006. 23rd in 2016. Can we get him to 22? I love him in every setting. Has a really impressive and eclectic list of opponents he had great matches against when you think about it: Riki Choshu, Genichiro Tenryu, Victor Zangiev, Hase, Muto, Chono, Koshinaka, Fujinami, Liger, Vader, Ogawa, Takada, Tenzan, Regal, Fujiwara, Yamazaki, etc. Underrated tag worker too.
  12. On some early match lists before he became a more established figure he was listed as "Axe Thunder Otsuka" this has to be worth moving up one spot alone. If I could only watch one match for the rest of my life, i might pick the match against Matsunaga.

    El Satanico

Ok I wanted to make sure you weren't skipping the Super Libre one. Give the 1991 match a shot as well. Its a bit of a letdown compared to the two from 1990, but on its own I recall liking it a lot.

    El Satanico

    Which one?
  15. Talk about a wrestler who could do everything. Otsuka is the guy. Ever see a violent giant swing before Otsuka? Just the man.

    Blue Panther

OMG I want that Santo bloodbath.
  17. Singles matches against Blue Panther, Psicosis (As Nicho el Millionario), Dr Cerebro. I'd have to dig around more for trios matches, but you kinda know what to expect from Santo in trios matches. He's gonna do all of his spots and nail them.

    Daniel Bryan

For the 2016 project, I watched a huge Bryan in WWE set from start to finish and I was really impressed with his first few months of WWE work where he's doing these 10-12 minute matches with a lot of mat work against guys like Cody, Dibiase Jr and Dolph and carrying them to interesting matches and getting fans to really react to some of the nasty looking submissions Bryan would whip out. I wonder if anyone's revisited that period of his career in the last few years?
  19. Great! Thanks! There appears to be an good bit of IWE stuff out there, I just haven't made that leap yet. Looks like more than enough to get a decent picture. I'm wondering if @ohtani's jacket or someone else has been through it?
  20. I first saw Hijo del Santo probably 23 years ago and I still get excited to watch him.
  21. That was beautiful!

    Kintaro Oki

^ Well hot damn I know what I'm watching next! Thanks you all rock!
  23. AWESOME! Thank you! Really excited about this.
  24. Is Rusher Kimura worth exploring? I see he's not nominated.
  25. Wow this sounds awesome! What are some matches to watch?
