  1. I think there's a better case for Choshu than for Fujinami, but I still have issues with Choshu's tendencies to go into long drawn out Scorpion Deathlock teases and his dependence on restholds in general. When Choshu brought the fire he was maybe my favorite guy on the NJPW 80s set, but when he milks a "halfway there modified Scorpion Deathlock... maybe!" segment my fast foward trigger finger gets itchy quick.
  2. He pretty much said that he could suck his dick. Not that it matters, because all that did was give Rock more ammunition. I don't why Cena keeps doing that. It makes no sense, especially for a face. He even does it in actual interviews. Yeah the implied fellatio didn't go over anyone's head, my point was that they obviously thought that mentioning a pinwheel without having a visual representation would lose people. Which it would, I haven't seen a pinwheel previous to that since I was a kid. It was a terribly contrived line.
  3. Meaning?
  4. I was looking forward to watching it after all the positive reactions and was disappointed all around as well. Not just because of the tired old gay jokes but because of the content and rhymes in general. The pin wheel line was especially bad to the point he needed a prop just so people would know what the hell he was talking about. Comparing one of his movies to Brokeback Mountain, okay so his movie was similar to a critically acclaimed hit that won multiple Oscars. The only good lines were about the Rock professing his love for the fans but leaving them high and dry. The ADD camera work or Michael Cole blowing a gasket afterward didn't help matters any. Cornette always gets a pass for his rampant gay insults and it's one of the main reasons I don't consider him one of the absolute best promos of all-time. He's still up there but to have to depend on that stuff is just lazy.
  5. Access to both forums would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance either way Loss. PM'd you. -- Loss, 11/19
  6. Which one, the match on the Philly Kobashi show or the one from earlier in the year? Both were really freakin good, I need to go back and rewatch them. I'm really looking forward to their match in this year's BOLA, I hope Sydal goes back to playing face, especially with him going to WWE and all.
  7. I haven't seen this since it originally aired but I thought it was great back then, I'm looking forward to watching it again on youtube after I get out of work. Eddie made Smackdown a can't-miss show when he was involved in any type of significant angle or feud.
  8. I really enjoyed the ROH PPV, especially Marufuji/Romero. I liked the production although the audio quality needs to be improved. I thought aside from that the commentary came off very well, especially the segment that led into the Briscoes/Steenerico brawl. That angle was really good and I went from not caring at all about catching that match on the second PPV to absolutely needing to see it. Really liked how Morishima came off throughout the PPV, they did a very good job of getting him over as the monster that the ROH roster needs to stop. On the negative side the other matches blended together a bit since everyone was trying to cram in the highspots. I can understand why they were doing that but I'm looking forward to more variety in the matches on the upcoming PPVs. The editing needs to be smoother as well, but on the visual side things weren't bad otherwise. The look was gritty which fit the feel, and the intro graphics were a pleasant surprise from a company who usually isn't very good with that sort of thing. Overall, I thought it was a very good first effort from the company, as did the group of people I watched it with.
  9. The talk about Sydal VS London earlier is interesting to me, because I've been watching a lot of London in ROH lately and I'd really forgotten how good he was. As much as I like Sydal I think I still prefer London at his best over Matt. These days though I'd probably put Sydal closer to my top 5 because of the different styles they wrestle... while I still enjoy London wrestling toned down, I do miss being able to see him going all out in ROH. My top 5 in the US, and this is just based on personal preference, would go something like Necro Butcher, Bryan Danielson, Fit Finlay, Super Dragon, and William Regal. Super Dragon I haven't seen since he's returned from injury but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. If I had to sub him out though it'd probably be between Sydal and Generico for the 5th spot.
  10. I've lurked here every now and then for a little while, but this idea is too good to pass up on, so I registered. I'll PM you my info in just a second Loss.
