The lights focus on the ring as the event begins.] Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Smoky Mountain Wrestling’s biggest night yet Volunteer Slam! We are coming to you from right here in the heart of East Tennessee with a full night of action, blood feuds, and championship battles. I'm Gordon Solie, and tonight... business is going to pick up." [In the ring stands John Ward, legendary Voice of the Vols, dressed sharp with a wide smile. The crowd pops when they see him.] John Ward: "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! It’s great to be here with you tonight in East Tennessee for this incredible night of professional wrestling. We’ve got a full card, titles on the line, and a crowd that’s ready to make some noise!" [Crowd cheers.] John Ward: "To officially kick off Volunteer Slam, please welcome the man behind Smoky Mountain Wrestling... Mr. Ole Anderson!" [The crowd erupts in cheers as Ole Anderson steps through the curtain no music, just loud respect. He wears a gray blazer, walks with purpose, climbs into the ring, and takes the mic.] Ole Anderson: "I'm not gonna stand here and waste time. You paid your money to see a fight, and that’s what you're gonna get tonight." [Crowd pops.] Ole Anderson: "We’ve got the SMW Heavyweight Title on the line. We’ve got tag team gold up for grabs. The TV Title will be defended. And we’ve got some scores to settle, believe me." [Ole scans the crowd.] Ole Anderson: "But let me make one thing real clear this is my promotion. And if anybody thinks they can run wild, if anybody thinks they can make a joke outta this company, you answer to me. I don’t care if it’s Ron Fuller, Don Callis, or anybody else. I will deal with it personally." [Crowd starts to chant “Ole! Ole!” and stomp their feet.] Ole Anderson: "This ain’t no circus. This is Smoky Mountain Wrestling. You came to see a fight, and you’re gonna get one. Let’s not waste another second. Let’s get to the ring and get this started!" [Ole points to the curtain and hands the mic back to John Ward as the bell rings.] Gordon Solie: "A strong message from the boss himself, Ole Anderson, and we are moments away from opening action—The Batten Twins versus the Colossal Kongs! Stay with us." _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Batten Twins vs The Colossal Kongs with Sheik Adnan The bell rings and Brad Batten starts against Kong #1. Brad tries quick moves, ducking a clothesline and throwing punches that barely faze the giant. Brad hits the ropes for a crossbody, but Kong #1 catches him mid-air and slams him down with a thunderous powerslam. Bart rushes in to help, but before he can tag in, Kong #2 storms the ring with their manager Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie close behind, shouting orders and pacing ringside. Kong #2 levels Bart with a massive avalanche splash in the corner. The referee tries to restore order, but Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie loudly distracts him, allowing the Kongs to drag both Battens into the center of the ring. Kong #1 locks Brad in a crushing bearhug as Kong #2 runs off the ropes and delivers a running splash, sandwiching Brad between them with a sickening crunch. Bart stumbles up, only to be caught with a double headbutt that sends him crashing down. The Kongs stack the Battens in the middle of the ring. Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie screams encouragement as Kong #2 climbs the second rope—causing the ring to tremble—and drops a huge splash across both men. The referee counts three with no hesitation. 1…..2…..3!!! Winners: The Colossal Kongs (via pinfall, dominant squash) After the bell, Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie enters the ring, theatrically raising both Kongs’ arms while barking orders. The crowd is buzzing as a special guest is introduced.] John Ward: “Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honor to introduce a true East Tennessee legend NBA star and Tennessee Volunteer great, Bernard King!” [Bernard King walks out to a big pop, waves to the crowd, and steps into the ring next to Ward.] Bernard King: “Thank you, John. It’s great to be here tonight at Volunteer Slam, right here in Tennessee. You know, wrestling and basketball are different worlds, but the heart and grit are the same. I’m here to support this great event and to stand behind a true champion… Bob Armstrong.” [Crowd cheers loudly.] [Suddenly, Ron Fuller’s music hits and he strides to the ring with a confident smirk.] Ron Fuller: “Hold on a second! That’s all fine and good, Bernard, but unlike you, I won’t be leaving Volunteer Slam just a guest. No, I’ll be leaving as the new SMW Heavyweight Champion.” [King steps forward, voice firm and steady.] Bernard King: “Ron, you may talk a big game, but I’m not here just to watch. I’m here in Bob Armstrong’s corner. And I’ll be making sure that Rip Morgan or anyone else doesn’t interfere. Tonight, this belt stays right here.” Ron Fuller (grinning): “We’ll see about that. But just remember everyone’s got to answer to me in that ring.” [King and Fuller lock eyes as the crowd roars, Ward steps back smiling.] John Ward: “Ladies and gentlemen, the stage is set for a night of unforgettable battles. Let’s get back to the action!” _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Vampire Warrior vs. Johnny Blaze The bell rings and Vampire Warrior immediately takes control. There’s nowhere to run. No rules, no place safe. I’m going to put you through hell.” Don Callis: “Hell’s exactly where I want to take you. You think you’re tough? Let’s see how tough you are when the fight spills outside that ring.” Rick Titan: “I’m not just tough. I’m relentless. And when I’m done with you, you’ll be crawling back to wherever you came from.” Don Callis: “Bring it on, Titan. It’s not about playing fair it’s about doing whatever it takes to win. I don’t care how many rules I break or how many people I have to step on. This title means power, and I’m the one holding it. Chris Champion? He’s just another stepping stone on my road to the top. And if anyone thinks they can take this from me… well, they’re in for a rude awakening.” (He laughs arrogantly, throwing the mic down as the crowd boos loudly.) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ [Backstage locker room area. Paul Ellering stands confidently with The Harris Brothers flanking him on either side, both looking imposing and silent as ever. Ellering holds a microphone, his voice calm but commanding.] Paul Ellering: “Tonight, at Volunteer Slam, my boys the Harris Brothers step into the ring to prove why they’re the most dominant force in tag team wrestling. Well-Dunn may have the titles now, but those belts don’t belong to them. They belong to the toughest, meanest, most disciplined team in Smoky Mountain Wrestling.” [He gestures to The Harris Brothers, who remain stoic but give a menacing nod.] Paul Ellering: “See, Well-Dunn, you’ve had your moment. But the Harris Brothers aren’t just challengers they’re a reckoning. When that bell rings, it won’t just be a fight. It’ll be a statement. Chairs, trash cans, and even a steel chain come into play as the two battle with relentless intensity. The fight spills back into the ring, where Titan gains the upper hand. He hoists Callis high, ready to deliver a crushing powerbomb that could end the match. Suddenly, a mysterious woman bursts through the crowd and leaps into the ring. Before Titan can react, she sprays a cloud of noxious spray directly into his face. Blinded and stunned, Titan staggers backward, clutching his eyes. You see, I’m not here to play by the rules or make friends. I’m here to take what’s mine. And tonight? Tonight was just the beginning. Because every winner needs an edge. Every king needs a queen. So I’m proud to introduce the one who’s gonna make sure I stay at the top, keep my enemies guessing, and keep those so-called ‘heroes’ running scared…” [Hollywood steps out with flair, strutting confidently to join Callis.] Don Callis: “Hollywood. Gorgeous. Ruthless. And believe me with her in my corner, there’s no stopping this train. Rick Titan, Bob Armstrong, whoever else wants a piece they better think twice, ‘cause this is my yard now.” Hollywood: “You heard the man. And trust me, Smoky Mountain, we’re just getting started.” Don Callis: “So remember this moment. But I’m not just gonna fight him I’m gonna drag him through the mud, through every inch of that ring, and leave no doubt who’s tougher in these mountains.” [Simpson’s expression hardens.] Steve Simpson: “This bullrope isn’t just a tool it’s a weapon. And when that bell rings, I’m going to make sure Jimmy Jack Funk remembers why they call it the Tennessee Bullrope Match.” [He looks directly into the camera, voice fierce.] Steve Simpson: “Volunteer Slam get ready. Tonight, I’ve got a legend in my corner a man who’s taught me everything about pain, punishment, and winning.” [Jimmy gestures off-camera, as if inviting someone to join.] Jimmy Jack Funk: “That man is none other than Dory Funk Jr. And with Dory by my side, Steve Simpson’s got a fight on his hands that he won’t walk away from.” [Jimmy’s grin widens.] Jimmy Jack Funk: “So bring your best, Simpson. I’ve been watching this show tonight, and I’m mighty upset. This promotion is built on tough, honest wrestling but what we’ve seen tonight? Interference after interference. That’s not how we do things here.” [The crowd murmurs, some nodding in agreement.] Ole Anderson: “From this moment on, anyone caught sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong anyone who interferes in a match will be fined one thousand dollars. No exceptions. This is my promotion, and I’m making sure things are fair and square.” [He pauses, voice dropping for emphasis.] Ole Anderson: “Now, because of all the trouble we’ve seen, especially with the main event coming up, I’m taking extra precautions. 3. Location: Knoxville, TV Studios Time: 6:30 PM Date: 05/23/1990 Gordon Solie: "Hello again, wrestling fans, and welcome to another hour of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. I'm Gordon Solie, and what a wild scene we witnessed last week Ron Fuller and Rip Morgan launching a brutal assault on the SMW Heavyweight Champion Bob Armstrong, only to be stopped by none other than Bob's son, Scott Armstrong. Tensions are rising here in East Tennessee, and tonight promises to bring even more fireworks." Ron Fuller walks out slowly to a chorus of boos, dressed in a sharp suit, with Rip Morgan looming behind him, arms folded and sneering at the crowd. Ron Fuller: "Gordon Solie, you can cut the dramatics. You act like what happened last week wasn’t deserved. Let’s get one thing straight for all these people out here and for that relic Bob Armstrong—when I make a promise, I keep it. And I promised that I’d take that SMW title from around his waist one way or another. Rip Morgan did his part last week, and Bullet Bob felt the consequences." Gordon Solie: "Well, Mr. Fuller, your ambush was repelled by young Scott Armstrong" Ron Fuller: "Don’t interrupt me, Solie! You think I didn’t expect Bob to drag his boy into this? That’s fine by me. Because I’m just getting warmed up. Bob, you better keep one eye on your title and the other on everyone around you. I’ve got more plans, more men, and more pain coming your way. Rip softened you up, and next week, I’m finshing you off one way or the other. Rip Morgan snarls and pounds his chest behind Fuller as the two slowly back away from the podium, leaving Solie looking grim. Gordon Solie: "Fans, things are getting serious here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Bob Armstrong is surrounded by enemies and Ron Fuller clearly isn't finished. Stay with us." Ole Anderson storms out from the back, microphone already in hand, his jaw clenched tight as he steps up beside Gordon at the podium. Ole Anderson: "Alright, I’ve had just about enough of this. Ron Fuller, I don't know what fantasy land you’re living in, but this isn’t your playground. You don’t run Smoky Mountain Wrestling I do. You want to play games, you want to make promises, well I’m here to make a few decisions of my own." The crowd cheers as Ron Fuller and Rip Morgan look on from the aisle, visibly irritated. Ole Anderson: "Next week, SMW is putting on its first big event Volunteer Slam. And I’m not letting it go by without settling some of this bad blood in that ring. So I’m making the main event official right now." Ole Anderson: "It’ll be Scott Armstrong and Bullet Bob Armstrong teaming up to face you, Ron Fuller, and your big bad Kiwi sidekick, Rip Morgan. That’s right a tag team showdown." The fans roar in approval. Ole Anderson: "And here’s the deal—if the Armstrongs win, then Bob gets what he wants. One-on-one with you, Fuller. No Morgan, no cheap shots. Just a straight-up fight at Volunteer Slam." Fuller shakes his head, shouting “No way!” but Ole keeps going. Ole Anderson: "But... if your team wins, Ron, then you get Bob Armstrong at Volunteer Slam in a handicap match with Rip Morgan in your corner. So you better think hard, Fuller. You’re getting what you want but you’ve gotta earn it." Gordon Solie: "There you have it, fans! The stakes couldn’t be higher family pride, revenge, and the SMW legacy all on the line. The road to Volunteer Slam is heating up!" ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Rick Titan vs Don Callis Rick Titan enters to cheers from the fans, playing to the crowd with his impressive power and confidence. Don Callis comes out in a flashy suit, smug and mocking, clearly not intending to match Titan physically but instead relying on his cunning. As the match begins, Titan uses his size and strength to dominate early—tossing Callis across the ring with powerful slams and a big back body drop. Callis bails to the outside repeatedly, trying to buy time and frustrate Titan. The crowd boos as Callis stalls and avoids contact, yelling to the referee about phantom infractions. Midway through the match, Titan goes for a big clothesline, but Callis ducks and pulls something small from his tights—just out of the referee’s line of sight. He tosses it near Titan’s feet, causing a brief distraction. While Titan argues with the referee, Callis slides to the outside, grabs Titan’s leg, and yanks him forward into the steel post. With Titan dazed, Callis scrambles back into the ring and barks at the official to start the count. Titan tries to recover, pulling himself up slowly, but it’s too late—the referee reaches the count of ten and Callis is awarded the match by count-out. Winner: Don Callis (via count-out) The crowd erupts in boos as Callis quickly grabs a microphone and shouts: Don Callis: "Brains over brawn, baby! That’s the difference between me and that overhyped gym rat!" As Rick Titan regains his senses, he storms the ring, forcing Callis to retreat. The two shout at each other as officials step in to keep them separated. Gordon Solie announces from the podium that next week at Volunteer Slam, it will be Rick Titan vs Don Callis no count-outs, no running, because it’s a Falls Count Anywhere in the building. Don Callis is throwing a fit as Rick Titan lets out a primal yell that gets the crowd hyped! __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gordon Solie: "Welcome back, fans. Right now, I’m joined by one of the most exciting new arrivals to Smoky Mountain Wrestling Steve Simpson!" Steve Simpson steps up to the podium, fired up and focused, wearing his ring gear and ready for a fight. Steve Simpson: "Jimmy Jack Funk! You been runnin’ your mouth for weeks, talkin’ about how tough you are, how wild you are, how you’re gonna run through me. Well, pal, I didn’t come to Smoky Mountain Wrestling to talk I came here to fight. And next time we get in that ring, I’m gonna show you just how ready I am!" Before Simpson can say another word, Ole Anderson walks up, clearly agitated. Ole Anderson: "Alright, alright that’s enough! Steve, I know you’re ready, but we are outta time for another match tonight. So I’m makin’ it official Steve Simpson vs. Jimmy Jack Funk happens next week at Volunteer Slam!" Suddenly, Jimmy Jack Funk storms onto the scene, livid and red-faced, wearing his tattered chaps and swinging a bullrope over his shoulder. Jimmy Jack Funk: "That ain’t good enough, Ole! I want Simpson now! I came here to fight, not to wait like some dog on a leash!" Steve Simpson doesn’t hesitate he lunges at Funk, and the two start trading wild punches as the fans roar. The fight spills near the podium until Ole Anderson throws down his headset and storms in with security. Officials rush to separate the two men. Ole Anderson: (yelling) "I’m TIRED of this damn chaos! I run this place not you, not Funk, not anybody else! You boys want to tear each other apart? Fine! But we’re gonna do it MY way!" Ole glares at both men as the security holds them apart. He picks up the bullrope that fell to the ground during the brawl and raises it. Ole Anderson: "Next week at Volunteer Slam, it’s Steve Simpson vs. Jimmy Jack Funk in a Texas Bullrope Match—but not the kind you’re used to. No touchin’ corners like a coward. The only way to win is to keep your opponent down for the ten count. I want a fight, and I’m gonna get one!" The crowd explodes as Funk snarls and Simpson nods, both men locked in a fiery stare, the bullrope swinging between them. The challenge is set. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Vampire Warrior with Great Kabuki vs Tony Anthony Tony Anthony comes to the ring with a determined look, but the atmosphere changes quickly as the lights dim and eerie music hits. The Vampire Warrior makes his entrance, flanked by the haunting presence of the Great Kabuki. Kabuki’s painted face and cold stare send shivers through the crowd, while the Warrior stalks toward the ring like a predator. As the bell rings, Vampire Warrior immediately takes control. He cuts off Anthony's offense with a stiff clothesline and a series of brutal stomps in the corner. Warrior tosses Anthony around the ring with raw power, all while Kabuki watches in eerie silence, occasionally raising his hands in slow, deliberate motions that unsettle the fans at ringside. Anthony tries to mount a small comeback with a flurry of punches, but Vampire Warrior absorbs them and drops him with a devastating side slam. With Anthony groggy, Warrior plants him with the Impaler DDT and hooks the leg. 1… 2… 3. Winner: Vampire Warrior Vampire Warrior stands tall, arms raised, as Kabuki slides into the ring and kneels behind him, mist slowly rising from his mouth without being sprayed. The two look like a force of darkness, sending a clear message to the rest of Smoky Mountain Wrestling—this alliance is just beginning, and destruction is on the horizon. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gordon Solie: "Fans, joining me at this time are the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Tag Team Champions—Well-Dunn. Gentlemen, two weeks ago you were viciously attacked by the Harris Brothers. I understand you’ve got something to say." Timothy Well: "You’re right, Gordon. We’ve been sitting at home, healing up, watching those two gorillas run around here like they own the place. Jumpin’ people from behind, struttin’ around like they’re big bad men." Steven Dunn: "But what they forget is this—we’re the SMW Tag Team Champions for a reason. We didn’t get these belts by hiding in parking lots. We got them by fighting in that ring, week after week, and proving we’re the best tag team in East Tennessee!" Well: "So next week, at Volunteer Slam, we're throwin’ it out there Harris Brothers, we want you in the ring, for these titles! But tonight, before you answer, we want you to see something." Dunn: "That’s right. Our opponents tonight? Nothing personal. But you’re about to be made an example of. So don’t take this ass-whipping too seriously—it’s not about you. This one’s for the Harris Brothers." [Cut to the ring] Well-Dunn vs Local Enhancement Team (Joe Reynolds & Danny James) As soon as the bell rings, Well-Dunn take complete control. Timothy Well opens up with hard forearms and a stiff dropkick on Joe Reynolds. Quick tags keep the action fluid as they work over the smaller Reynolds with double-team offense in their corner. Steven Dunn tags in and delivers a swinging neckbreaker, then taunts the camera, shouting, “You watching, Harris boys?!” Reynolds finally gets a desperate tag to Danny James, who charges in with fire—but Dunn cuts him off immediately with a spinebuster. Well tags in and connects with a flying forearm off the second rope. They finish the match with their signature double-team flapjack. Dunn covers. 1… 2… 3. Your Winners: Well-Dunn Well-Dunn stand over their fallen opponents, holding up the SMW Tag Team Titles, staring straight into the hard cam. Well: "Next week, Harris Brothers—you’re gonna find out what happens when you mess with champions." Dunn: "We don’t run. We don’t hide. And at Volunteer Slam… we fight!" As Well-Dunn celebrate their dominant win, posing in the ring and jawing into the cameras, Gordon Solie approaches the podium. Gordon Solie: “Well-Dunn, the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Tag Team Champions, have made it clear they want The Harris Brothers at Volunteer Slam, and they’re prepared to prove why they wear the gold.” Suddenly, the crowd begins to boo as Paul Ellering emerges from the curtain, flanked by the stone-faced, menacing Harris Brothers. The trio strides with purpose to the podium. Ellering is dressed sharply, carrying his trademark leather dossier. Don and Ron Harris stand behind him like silent enforcers. Paul Ellering (smiling coldly): “Well-Dunn… you boys seem real proud of yourselves. Running your mouths, picking fights you can’t finish. But now you’ve invited something you don’t understand.” He pauses, then turns and gestures to the silent twins behind him. Paul Ellering: “These two men aren’t looking for titles. They’re looking for destruction. You want them at Volunteer Slam? Fine. You’ve got them. And when that bell rings, it won’t be a wrestling match—it’ll be a reckoning.” Ellering steps closer to the camera. Paul Ellering: “This is your warning. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is about to change forever. Courtesy of the Harris Brothers.” He drops the mic on the podium. The Harris Brothers don’t speak they just glare at the ring with cold fury. In the ring, Well-Dunn shout back and hold their belts high, showing no fear. The two teams stare each other down as the crowd buzzes in anticipation. Gordon Solie (voiceover): “The Tag Titles are on the line at Volunteer Slam! Well-Dunn versus The Harris Brothers—it’s going to be a war!” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Gordon Solie: "Fans, with me now are Bart and Brad—the Batten Brothers. Gentlemen, you've been making waves in the world of wrestling and I understand you’ve got something to get off your chest." Bart Batten: "That's right, Gordon. We’ve been watching what’s going on around here, especially with those two monsters the Colossal Kongs. Everyone’s been running from them. But not us." Brad Batten: "We’re here to fight, Gordon. And we’re not looking for easy wins. We want the biggest, baddest team out there. And that’s the Colossal Kongs. So we’re throwing down the challenge next week at Volunteer Slam, you bring the Kongs, and we’ll bring the fight." Bart: "We know what they’ve done to other teams. We’ve seen the destruction. But we’re not scared we’re ready." [Suddenly, the ominous sound of Middle Eastern music blares as Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie storms out to the podium, flanked by the towering Colossal Kongs.] Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie: "You two little fools want to challenge my Kongs? You have no idea what you're asking for! The Colossal Kongs are not wrestlers they are wrecking machines! They destroy, they maim, they end careers!" Brad Batten: "Then we’ll see you next week, Sheik. You bring your monsters we’ll be ready." Sheik Adnan (sneering): "Next week, your dreams die in that ring. The Kongs accept. But you will regret this challenge." Gordon Solie: "There you have it, fans! The challenge has been made and accepted next week at Volunteer Slam, it’ll be the Batten Brothers versus the Colossal Kongs in what promises to be a truly volatile showdown!" ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Chris Champion vs Frankie Lancaster Chris Champion puts on a crisp, athletic performance against journeyman Frankie Lancaster. Champion controls the tempo early with technical grappling, grounding Lancaster with armdrags and keeping him off balance with quick dropkicks. Lancaster gets a short burst of offense, landing a back elbow and a swinging neckbreaker, but Champion regains momentum with a running knee lift followed by a flying forearm smash. Champion finishes things with a diving elbow off the top rope for the clean pinfall victory. Winner: Chris Champion After the match, Champion nods to the fans and steps over to Gordon Solie at the podium. Gordon Solie: “Chris Champion looking strong heading into this big weekend, and standing by with me now is the man who’s had quite a bit to say lately Doug Gilbert.” Doug Gilbert walks out slowly, smirking, clearly enjoying the attention. He adjusts his leather jacket and glares at Champion, who’s still catching his breath near the podium. Doug Gilbert: “You see that, Champion? I told everybody I was gonna make this TV Title mine, and now it's official. This weekend, Volunteer Slam, it’s me and you one on one for the Smoky Mountain Television Championship. I hope you enjoyed tonight, because it’s the last time anybody sees you with your hand raised.” Gordon Solie: “A bold statement, Doug, and quite a match the fans can look forward to.” Champion steps forward slightly, pointing at Gilbert. Chris Champion: “You’ve done a lot of talking, Gilbert. But come Volunteer Slam, let’s see if you can back it up.” The two stare each other down as Solie wraps the segment. Gordon Solie: “That match is set Doug Gilbert vs. Chris Champion for the Television Title. The action is heating up as we roll into Volunteer Slam!” Fade to black as the tension crackles at the podium. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The camera cuts to a simple backdrop with the Smoky Mountain Wrestling logo. Gordon Solie stands at center, flanked by “Bullet” Bob Armstrong and his son Scott Armstrong, both in gear, both looking intense but focused. Gordon Solie: “Fans, we are moments away from tonight’s Main Event — a high-stakes tag team match that could determine the fate of the SMW Heavyweight Championship at Volunteer Slam. With me now, the Armstrongs. Bob, last week you took a rough beating at the hands of Rip Morgan and Ron Fuller, but your son was there to make the save.” Bob Armstrong: “That’s right, Gordon. Last week was a reminder of what kind of man Ron Fuller really is. He doesn’t fight fair. He hides behind men like Rip Morgan, throws punches after the bell, and thinks that makes him dangerous. But I’ve been fighting bullies like Ron Fuller my whole life.” Bob puts a hand on Scott’s shoulder. Bob Armstrong: “This young man right here, my son, he didn’t hesitate. He saw his father getting beat down and he ran out there and stood tall. And tonight, the Armstrongs are standing together ready to fight.” Scott Armstrong: “Ron Fuller made a big mistake putting his hands on my dad. Tonight, he and that big goon Rip Morgan are gonna find out the Armstrongs don’t break easy. We’ve been through wars. We’re not scared of tricks, sneak attacks, or threats. We’re here to earn our shot, and that’s exactly what we’re gonna do.” Bob Armstrong: “Ron Fuller wants to manipulate the system, stack the deck, and call the shots. But if we win tonight and believe me, we will then at Volunteer Slam, he’s got no more places to hide. He’s gonna be locked in the ring with me, one-on-one. And when that happens... I finish this.” Gordon Solie: “Strong words from the Armstrongs. The stakes are sky-high tonight, fans if the Armstrongs win, Bob gets Fuller in a fair fight at Volunteer Slam. But if Fuller and Morgan win, then Bob will have to face them both in a handicap match. Stay with us that explosive main event is coming up next!” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bob and Scott Armstrong vs Ron Fuller and Rip Morgan Scott Armstrong starts off with Rip Morgan, using quickness and technique to evade the bigger man. Scott scores with a dropkick, then a series of arm drags that send Morgan reeling. The crowd pops for Scott’s fiery offense, and Bob applauds his son from the apron. Morgan regains control with a crushing clothesline and drags Scott into the corner, tagging in Fuller. Ron works Scott over with boots and elbows, shouting insults at Bob the entire time. The crowd chants for Scott, willing him to fight back. Scott slips under a clothesline and dives for the hot tag! Bob Armstrong explodes into the ring and goes right at Fuller with fists of fury. Left! Right! Left! Right! Fuller bumps hard and rolls to the outside, stunned. Rip Morgan charges in, but Bob cuts him off and knocks him to the mat with a big elbow. The fans are on their feet. The match breaks down with all four men in the ring. The referee struggles to maintain order. Bob and Fuller brawl on the outside, throwing fists by the guardrail as Scott and Morgan go back and forth inside the ring. Morgan catches Scott with a big boot and lifts him for a slam, but Scott counters with a sunset flip out of nowhere — one, two, three! Winners: Bob & Scott Armstrong (via pinfall) The crowd explodes as the bell rings. Bob slides into the ring and lifts Scott’s hand high. The Armstrongs have done it — Bob is getting Ron Fuller at Volunteer Slam! Ron Fuller loses his mind at ringside, yelling at the referee, throwing his jacket, and shoving a steel chair. Rip Morgan looks stunned, slamming the mat in frustration. Bob Armstrong (from the ring, pointing at Fuller): “No more runnin’, Fuller! You and me, next week — one-on-one! Bring everything you got, because I’m bringin’ East Tennessee with me!” Fuller backs up the aisle, still jawing at Bob, but now visibly shaken. Gordon Solie’s voice closes the show as the Armstrongs celebrate: Gordon Solie: “What a night! Bob Armstrong has earned his shot — next week at Volunteer Slam, it’s Bullet Bob versus Ron Fuller! Don’t miss it, fans, it’s going to be one for the ages!” Fade out on Bob and Scott celebrating with the roaring crowd behind them. ***END*** Volunteer Slam SMW Heavyweight Championship Bob Armstrong vs Ron Fuller SMW Tag Team Championships Well-Dunn vs The Harris Brothers with Paul Ellering SMW Television Championship Doug Gilbert vs Chris Champion Falls Count Anywhere Rick Titan vs Don Callis Tennesssee Bullrope Match Steve Simpson vs Jimmy Jack Funk The Batten Twins vs The Collosal Kongs Vampire Warrior will be in action Plus a special apparence by Tennessee Volunteer Great and NBA Star Bernard King!
  4. Location: Knoxville, TV Studios Time: 6:30 PM Date: 05/19/1990 Gordon Solie: “Wrestling fans, welcome once again to Smoky Mountain Wrestling! I’m Gordon Solie, and we are coming to you from beautiful East Tennessee with a jam-packed program tonight. Last week ended in controversy and chaos, and now the man behind SMW is here to address it all — Ole Anderson!” [Ole Anderson steps onto the studio set to a mix of cheers and murmurs. He’s all business, hands on hips, scowling at the camera.] Ole Anderson: "Let me tell you something right now. I don't care who you are, how big you are, or how many people you jump in a parking lot. You don’t run things around here like I do." "Last week, the Harris Boys made a lot of noise backstage. Thought they’d make a name for themselves by attacking our Tag Team Champions Well-Dunn. Real tough, huh? Two-on-two, after the show, when nobody’s looking." "Well, guess what? I heard from Well-Dunn that they want revenge. But the doc says they’re not cleared to wrestle till next week. That’s fine. Because I’ve got two men who are cleared, and they’re not afraid of a fight." "So tonight, Don and Ron Harris, you're gonna step in that ring against two men who love nothing more than smashing big mouths into the mat." "And those men… are Bill Kazmaier and Tommy Cairo!" [Crowd reacts loudly!] Ole Anderson: "You want to fight? You're gonna get one. And you keep pushing your luck around here, boys, I might just take you behind the barn myself." Gordon Solie: "There you have it, Ole Anderson making it plain: there will be order in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and the Harris Boys are in for a battle tonight!" —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Harris Brothers vs. Bill Kazmaier & Tommy Cairo In a hard-hitting opening contest, the powerhouse team of Bill Kazmaier and Tommy Cairo put up a strong fight against the twin wrecking crew, Don and Ron Harris. Kazmaier used his incredible strength early, tossing both Harris Brothers around with gutwrench suplexes and bearhugs. Cairo followed up with stiff strikes and a diving shoulder tackle that had the crowd rallying behind the babyface duo. But just as Cairo looked to finish things off with a powerslam on Ron Harris, Paul Ellering appeared at ringside. The distraction was enough. As Cairo stood on the second rope, pointing at Ellering and shouting him down, the Harris Twins took advantage. Behind the referee’s back, the fresh twin quickly slid into the ring and switched places, the classic “Twin Magic” routine. When Cairo turned around, he was met with a brutal big boot, followed by a devastating double spinebuster. 1... 2... 3. Your Winners: The Harris Brothers —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, that was a hard-fought bout, but controversy continues to swirl here in SMW—now joined by Paul Ellering and the Harris Brothers..." Paul Ellering: "Did you see that? That's dominance. That's inevitability. These are not just two angry men, these are my soldiers, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling is about to become a battlefield." "Ole Anderson... you're clinging to the past. You're trying to prop up a system that’s crumbling. These two men, the Harris Brothers, are the future. And starting tonight SMW is going to be rebuilt in our image." Don Harris: "No more rules. No more legends living off their names. We’re taking over." Ron Harris: "And Ole... if you’ve got a problem with that, come try and stop us." Gordon Solie (with concern): "Powerful words from Paul Ellering and his monstrous duo. The tension continues to rise here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling!" —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Camera cuts to the studio podium where Gordon Solie stands. The crowd buzzes with anticipation as “The Tennessee Stud” Ron Fuller confidently strides out in a tailored suit, his long frame towering over the fans near the barricade. He’s grinning, swaggering, and holding a microphone like he owns the place.] Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, I’m joined now by a man who’s been causing quite a stir since arriving in Smoky Mountain Wrestling… Ron Fuller. Ron, last week you made a promise, and I understand you’ve brought someone here to help you keep it." Ron Fuller (with a smirk): "That’s right, Gordon. Last week, I told the whole world that I was coming for Bob Armstrong and that precious Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Championship he’s been clutchin’ onto like it’s his baby blanket. Now Bob and I? We go back a long way. We’ve fought, we’ve bled, we’ve hated and now, I’ve come back to put an end to his little fairytale." [Crowd boos loudly.] Ron Fuller: "But I told ya I wouldn’t come alone. I told you I had men lined up, men ready to do damage. And tonight, you get to meet the first wave of what I call the end of the ‘Bullet’ era." [He points toward the entrance curtain.] Ron Fuller: "Let me introduce you all to a man who has crushed competition across the globe. He’s rough, he’s violent, and he doesn't give a damn about Bob Armstrong’s legacy. He’s the New Zealand mauler himself, Rip Morgan!" [The crowd erupts in boos as Rip Morgan storms out, swinging a chain, wild-eyed and yelling. He’s in full savage brawler mode, stomping to the podium beside Fuller.] Ron Fuller: "You see this man? This is who’s steppin’ in the ring with Bob Armstrong in the main event tonight. And Bob, I want you to remember something when you’re laying flat on your back, breathin’ heavy and lookin’ up at those lights: this is just the beginning. Tonight, I got something even meaner waitin’. You’re not just defendin’ a title, you’re fightin’ off extinction." Gordon Solie: "Well fans, this situation is escalating by the minute. Rip Morgan is here, and in the main event, he’ll go one-on-one with the SMW Champion, Bullet Bob Armstrong. Will Bob be able to survive the storm, or is Ron Fuller’s plan coming to fruition?" [Camera fades out on Morgan snarling into the lens, shaking the chain, while Fuller laughs over his shoulder.] —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doug Gilbert vs. Barry Horowitz As the crowd settles in, Chris Champion joins Gordon Solie at the ringside podium, arms crossed, eyeing the ring with a scowl. His presence draws a pop from the crowd but it’s clear he’s not here to smile. Meanwhile, Doug Gilbert makes his entrance, sneering toward Champion as he struts to the ring. He points at Champion and mouths, “Watch this close, champ!” The bell rings. Gilbert circles cautiously with Barry Horowitz, who plays to the crowd briefly before they lock up. Horowitz takes the early lead, surprising Doug with a quick armdrag and then a hip toss. Gilbert rolls to his feet, embarrassed, and slaps the mat in frustration. He glares at Champion, who smirks and shakes his head. Gilbert returns with more aggression knee to the gut, forearm to the back, and he takes over. He whips Horowitz hard into the corner and follows with a running clothesline. A snap suplex earns him a two-count. Doug glares over at Champion and shouts, “That the kind of fire you're bringing next week?” Champion simply folds his arms and keeps watching. Horowitz mounts a brief comeback, ducking a clothesline and scoring a sunset flip for two. He fires up, landing a dropkick and going for a backslide but Gilbert blocks it and spins out into a neckbreaker. Gilbert then signals for the end, climbing to the second rope and hitting a picture-perfect elbow drop. 1... 2... 3. Your Winner: Doug Gilbert Gilbert immediately rolls out of the ring and storms toward Champion, jawing at him the whole way. Doug Gilbert (pointing): “You see that? That’s how you handle business. You better enjoy watchin’ from that chair, Chris, ‘cause that’s the closest you’re ever gettin’ to bein’ the best in SMW.” Champion stands up now, chest to chest with Gilbert. Tension boils, but before it turns into a fight, Solie steps in to separate them. Gordon Solie: “Gentlemen, we’ll settle this another day, this is a broadcast!” The two men stare each other down as we fade out. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gordon Solie stands at the classic SMW podium, microphone in hand. The crowd buzzes as “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, the reigning SMW Heavyweight Champion, steps into frame wearing the title proudly around his waist. He adjusts his jacket, nods to the fans, and looks square into the camera with intensity in his eyes. Gordon Solie: “Joining me now, the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong. Bob, it seems every week now Ron Fuller is sending someone new to try and take you out.” Bob Armstrong (fired up): “That’s right, Gordon! Ron Fuller’s been diggin’ into every dark alley he can find, diggin’ up anybody mean enough or mad enough to try and do the job he’s never been man enough to do himself and that’s put me down!” Crowd pops loudly. Bob slaps the title belt proudly. Bob Armstrong: “First it was Jimmy Jack Funk. Tough boy, sure, but not tough enough. And now tonight, it’s Rip Morgan. Big man, wild man, I ain’t takin’ him lightly. I know what he’s capable of. But I didn’t win this belt to hide behind it. I won it to defend East Tennessee Wrestling against anybody who steps through that curtain!” Bob Armstrong (pointing to the camera): “Rip Morgan, you better bring everything you got because tonight, I’m bringin’ everything I’ve got in return. And when I knock you down, Ron Fuller, I want YOU to be next! You keep hiding behind everybody else, but sooner or later, you’re gonna have to face me yourself. And when that time comes, you better be ready, because the Bullet don’t miss!” The crowd erupts in cheers as Bob adjusts his title and stares down the lens, determined and unshaken. Gordon Solie: “The champion stands tall and folks, Rip Morgan has a storm coming his way later tonight!” —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Simpson vs. Tony Falk The fans in the SMW studio come alive as Steve Simpson makes his debut, looking fired up and focused. Across the ring, Tony Falk grins arrogantly, brushing off the crowd’s jeers. Falk tries to outsmart Simpson early with headlocks and cheap tricks, but Simpson’s athleticism is too much. He fires off crisp armdrags and dropkicks, stringing together quick offense that leaves Falk scrambling. After a near fall off a flying forearm, Simpson lands a running powerslam and heads to the top rope. He flies off with a high crossbody, landing flush and scoring the 1-2-3! Winner: Steve Simpson As Simpson celebrates, the cheers quickly turn to boos as Jimmy Jack Funk storms the ring from the back rope in hand, wild-eyed and unhinged. He ambushes Simpson, clubbing him in the back of the head with the rope and laying into him with stomps and fists. The crowd erupts in outrage as Funk ties the rope around Simpson’s neck and drags him around the ring like a trophy. Officials rush in to pull Funk off, but not before he plants Simpson with a piledriver in the center of the ring. Gordon Solie (at the podium): "This is absolutely disgusting behavior! Jimmy Jack Funk has crossed a line here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling!" Funk storms over to the podium, grabs Solie's mic, and snarls: Jimmy Jack Funk: "You bring in some pretty boy from Africa and expect him to steal the spotlight from a real man? That don't sit right with Jimmy Jack Funk! Simpson next week, I'm gonna show you what it's like to step into the ring with a real outlaw!" Medical personnel check on Simpson as the segment closes with Funk being dragged away, still shouting and swinging the rope. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The lights in the SMW studio dim as an eerie, slow, ominous music creeps through the speakers. A purple strobe effect flickers as Vampire Warrior steps into the spotlight at the podium with Gordon Solie. Dressed in black leather, face painted in blood-like streaks, he carries an unsettling aura. The crowd quiets in unease. Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, joining me now is... the Vampire Warrior, and I’m told he’s not alone tonight." Vampire Warrior: "The time has come for Smoky Mountain Wrestling to embrace the darkness. I've watched from the shadows... and I see the greed, the pride, the weak souls clinging to light and honor." "But I bring something older. Something powerful. Something feared." He gestures to the curtain as a haunting flute-like sound begins playing. Out steps The Great Kabuki, shrouded in a flowing robe, face painted in his iconic misted kabuki makeup, carrying a wooden staff. The crowd gasps at the visual. Vampire Warrior: "This… is The Great Kabuki. He is not a man. He is a spirit of vengeance ancient, silent, and deadly. He walks with me now. He answers to me now." "Next week... we step into your ring, and the rituals begin. The bloodletting begins." Gordon Solie: "I… I can only imagine what the fans and the SMW locker room must be thinking right now. That man Kabuki is a legend. And with you guiding him, I dare say this could be a dangerous development." Vampire Warrior (smirking): "They should be afraid, Solie. Because the darkness isn't coming. It's already here." He throws his arms out, laughing coldly as Kabuki stands behind him, motionless and menacing. The lights flicker and fade to black. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick Titan vs. Ricky Lane The crowd at the studio taping erupts as Rick Titan makes his way to the ring for his SMW debut. Clad in bright tights and full of energy, Titan slaps hands with fans on his way down the aisle, flashing a confident smile. Gordon Solie notes that this powerhouse from Calgary is looking to make an impression. As the bell rings, Ricky Lane circles cautiously, but Titan explodes out of the corner with a thunderous shoulder block that sends Lane sprawling. The crowd roars in approval. Titan plays to the audience, pumping his fists and shouting, “Let’s go, Smoky Mountain!” before scooping Lane up and delivering a massive bodyslam that shakes the ring. Lane staggers to his feet only to be launched across the ring with a powerful overhead belly-to-belly suplex. The fans are on their feet as Titan points to the turnbuckle, climbs to the second rope, and drops a huge elbow across Lane’s chest. With the crowd chanting, “Titan! Titan!”, he pulls Lane up and finishes him off with a running powerslam, planting him squarely in the center of the ring. 1... 2... 3! The bell rings and Rick Titan stands tall, flexing for the crowd and beating his chest. He climbs the ropes and points to the fans, shouting, “I’m here to fight for you!” The East Tennessee crowd eats it up, giving Bognar a warm and rowdy welcome to SMW. [Rick Titan finishes celebrating in the ring and steps down to the SMW podium, where Gordon Solie stands with microphone in hand. The crowd is still buzzing.] Gordon Solie: “Ladies and gentlemen, a most impressive debut here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling Rick Titan!” [Titan steps up, still fired up, nodding to the fans.] Rick Titan: “This is what I came here for, Gordon to fight, to prove myself, and to stand tall for the fans of East Tennessee! I’ve been around the world, but there’s nothing like the energy right here in SMW. I want the best this company has to offer bring them on!” [Suddenly, the studio crowd turns with a mix of jeers and curiosity as a smug, sharply dressed figure walks onto the set Don Callis, microphone in hand, sunglasses on, and a self-satisfied grin.] Don Callis: “Wow, wow, wow. That was really cute, Rick. Big body slams, flexing, ‘fighting for the people’ all very noble.” “But you see, Smoky Mountain Wrestling isn’t a gym class, and it’s not a bodybuilding expo. This is professional wrestling, and what the people actually need... is someone intelligent, someone tactical. Someone like me.” [Bognar steps forward, jaw clenched.] Rick Titan: “You got something to say, say it to my face, Callis.” Don Callis: “I already did, dummy. I’m saying next week you and me, one-on-one. Let’s see how much that power helps you when you’re in the ring with someone who actually uses their brain. Let’s see if you’re ready to swim in deeper waters, big man.” [Callis smirks, adjusts his sunglasses, and backs away slowly as Titan stares him down.] Rick Titan: “He wants a fight? He’s got it. Next week Callis gets a crash course in what power really looks like.” [The crowd pops as Titan raises his fist and the segment closes.] —-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main Event – Non-Title Match “Bullet” Bob Armstrong vs. Rip Morgan (with Ron Fuller) The crowd is buzzing as SMW Heavyweight Champion “Bullet” Bob Armstrong makes his entrance to loud cheers, the pride of East Tennessee and a fighting champion through and through. He stares down the ramp, knowing Ron Fuller has sent another challenger to try and wear him down. Rip Morgan, wild-eyed and aggressive, storms out next with Ron Fuller right behind him, shouting insults and riling up the studio crowd. Morgan storms into the ring, wasting no time as he jumps Bob before the bell even rings. The two veterans brawl with stiff fists, with Morgan using his size and brutality to batter Bob early. But Bullet Bob fires up and takes control with his signature right hands, a flying elbow, and a big back body drop. He keeps the crowd hot, rallying with fists to the air, but Fuller shouts to Rip to stay on him. Morgan turns the tide with a knee to the gut and a big clothesline, pounding Bob down with clubbing forearms and choking him on the mat. He slams Bob hard and drops a leg for a two-count. The match builds into a slugfest, but Bob catches Rip with a running knee lift and a swinging neckbreaker! Bob covers 1… 2… 3! Winner: “Bullet” Bob Armstrong The crowd explodes but there’s no time to celebrate. Ron Fuller storms the ring and attacks Bob from behind! Rip Morgan quickly joins in. The two beat down the exhausted champion, stomping and hammering him as boos rain down. Suddenly, a figure sprints from the back Scott Armstrong! The young Armstrong charges the ring and tackles Rip Morgan, throwing wild punches and fighting both men off. He blasts Fuller with a dropkick and sends Morgan over the top rope with a running clothesline! Scott checks on his father, who’s trying to sit up. Bob looks up at his son with pride as Scott helps him to his feet. Together, they stand tall as the studio crowd roars. Gordon Solie: GORDON SOLIE: "Ladies and gentlemen, the Armstrong family is standing strong but so is the threat of Ron Fuller. What will he bring next week?!" *************END********** Next Week on SMW Television The SMW Tag Team Champions Well-Dunn will be in action The Vampire Warrior makes his in-ring debut Rick Titan vs "The Natural" Don Callis Jimmy Jack Funk vs Steve Simpson Ron Fuller and Rip Morgan will be in action We will hear from Bob and Scott Armstrong Ole Anderson will announce plans for the SMW Television Championship PLUS MUCH MORE!!!!!
  5. What a HOT finish that would be! Ric Flair/Hulk Hogan in this timeline....YES! YES! YES! It doesn't get much bigger than that one. I like how that one was booked. Hogan going over Stan then leading to Flair with The Enforcers that's a huge angle and very excited to see where that one goes. Fun Fact my buddy is being trained by Austin Idol in Greeneville and Idol is obsessed with making his finisher "The Heart Punch" my buddy wants to do the World's Strongest Slam since he is a bigger but Austin Idol is still his old school self and wants him using The Heart Punch and gave him the name "Bulldog Brauer" and keeps saying it's all about "Brauer Power" That has nothing to do with your show but when I see Austin Idol get booked it reminds of me of the story my buddy is telling me.
  6. That was a very fun SNME! I like that you made sure it took almost the whole field to take out Vader who is a complete monster and I am totally alright with you pushing him to the moon because I sure would! Awesome show though, very good booking, I am enjoying seeing Haku be treated like a big deal here in the WWF. Very excited for King of The Ring one of my favorite events cause who doesn't love a good tournament. Keep it coming my guy! You are doing a great job with the WWF.
  7. That is going to be one hot card coming up. I am enjoying this Jerry "The King" Lawler story that you have going on. That 6 Man Tag Match is huge and the stakes for the match are even higher. I am very excited to see what happens there.
  8. A solid group of shows. Some very entertaining match ups for sure. I am in the process of catching up to what you have going on, but some solid stuff to see. Interesting to see The Thrillseekers against Midnight Express. That would be a killer match. I am a diehard Shane Douglas fan so seeing him take Condrey to the limit was awesome. Keep up the great work and I will be sure to keep tuning in.
  9. A very solid event in Captial Combat. I always liked that name for a PPV. I enjoy the angles you have going. Everything intertwines and works together perfectly. I am enjoying seeing Owen get some shine in 1990 and the pairing with Bulldog helps make it work. I think something that I am enjoyng that you are doing is calling stuff crap when it would be. Which is pretty much anything that El Gigante would be doing. I am digging that just for the simple fact that the stuff we write won't always be hits and calling a spade a spade is pretty cool to see. Cause even being a talent writer trying to get El Gigante over would be a task that is super hard to believe. I didn't expect to see Robocop but you did it perfectly and I enjoy the figure you made of him. Maybe I should book Robocop to help Bob Armstrong with Ron Fuller but then again with my budget I can't afford that booking so it would be a direct to VHS rip off of Robocop. lol Awesome show like always LowBlow!
  10. Thanks I appreciate it. Yeah I wanted this show to sorta establish a local tv show that is just doing its own thing. I use Google sheets to write cause I can resize images to any size I want and it’s easier to format but when I paste it here it just makes all writing bold and that’s a pain to fix it all before posting here on the board sometimes cause it changes the format a lot but I’ll get it figured out as the time marches on. thanks for accepting me and I’ll do my part the best I can.
  11. Location: Knoxville, TV Studios Time: 6:30 PM Date: 05/12/1990 Gordon Solie: Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the debut broadcast of Smokey Mountain Wrestling! I’m Gordon Solie, and tonight we begin a new chapter in professional wrestling, right here in the heart of East Tennessee. And to kick things off, please welcome a man who represents the strength and spirit of this region the SMW Heavyweight Champion, 'Bullet' Bob Armstrong! [Crowd erupts as Bob Armstrong enters, belt over his shoulder, shaking hands with fans and stepping up beside Solie.] Bob Armstrong: "Thank you, Gordon. Folks, it’s a proud day to be standing here as your SMW Heavyweight Champion. But this ain’t a trophy it’s a target. And I’m not about to sit on it and wait. I'm here to defend it against anybody, anytime, anywhere. If you think you’re tough enough, if you think you’ve got what it takes step through them ropes and prove it to me and these fine fans!" [Crowd cheers loudly, stomping the bleachers.] Gordon Solie: "Strong words from a fighting champion… but it looks like someone’s taking notice!" [The crowd turns as a tall, suited figure walks into frame — it’s Ron Fuller, smug and slow-moving, microphone already in hand.] Ron Fuller "Well, well, well… Bullet Bob Armstrong. I’ve watched you run your mouth all over this territory for years. But now that Smoky Mountain Wrestling is open for business, it’s time for men of means to take over You see, Bob, you might hold that title, but I’ve got something you don’t resources. Connections. And tonight, I’ve brought one with me… a man who’s gonna start collecting debts in this company starting with you." [From behind Fuller steps a rugged, scowling figure: Jimmy Jack Funk long hair, bullrope, and a wild look in his eye. He spits on the floor and glares at Armstrong.] Ron Fuller: "Meet Jimmy Jack Funk and he’s here to break your so-called fighting spirit." [The crowd boos as Bob Armstrong takes a step forward, fists clenched, eyes narrowed.] Bob Armstrong: "You wanna come to my backyard and send a lunatic to do your dirty work? Well alright, big man. I’m not hard to find. Jimmy Jack let’s see what you’ve got. Right here, right now!" Gordon Solie: "We’ve got a match, fans! The SMW Heavyweight Champion Bob Armstrong versus Jimmy Jack Funk up next!" __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bob Armstrong vs. Jimmy Jack Funk (with Ron Fuller) SMW Heavyweight Championship The bell rings, and Jimmy Jack Funk charges at Bob Armstrong like a wild bull, swinging the bullrope wildly before discarding it. Bob ducks a clothesline, fires back with stiff jabs, and floors Funk with a big right hand that sends him staggering into the corner. The crowd is fully behind the “Bullet” as he lays in punches to the count of ten on the turnbuckles. Ron Fuller yells instructions from ringside, slamming the mat with his hand, urging Funk to brawl dirty. Funk rakes the eyes and lands a cheap shot, slowing Armstrong’s momentum. He begins pounding away with clubbing forearms, choking Bob across the second rope while the referee counts to four. Funk tries to keep Bob grounded with a chinlock, but Armstrong feeds off the crowd and powers out, elbowing his way to his feet. He hits the ropes shoulder block! Bob hits a second, then a flying clothesline, popping the studio audience to their feet. Bob calls for the finish. Funk staggers up Armstrong ducks a swing, and THE SMOKY JAWBREAKER! 1… 2… 3! Winner: Bob Armstrong As the bell rings and Bob gets his hand raised, Ron Fuller suddenly slides into the ring, clutching that Bull Rope and before Bob can react CRACK! Fuller lays Armstrong out from behind with the bell part of the rope to the back of the head! The crowd erupts in boos as Fuller stands over the fallen champion, red-faced and smug. Ron Fuller: "You think this is over, Armstrong? This was just a taste! Next week, I’m bringing someone meaner… someone nastier! You think you’re a fighting champion? You better be ready to fight for your life!" [Fade to commercial as Bob Armstrong writhes in pain and officials rush to the ring.] ____________________________________________________________________________________ Bad Crew #1 & #2 vs. Local Jobbers The bell rings, and immediately Bad Crew #1 & #2 charge at their opponents, two local jobbers. The crowd boos as Bad Crew #1 and Bad Crew #2 dominate from the start, showing no mercy. Bad Crew #1 takes the lead, whipping one of the jobbers into the corner and following up with a brutal running clothesline. The impact echoes through the arena as the jobber crumples to the mat. Bad Crew #2 enters the ring and lifts the other jobber into a vicious backbreaker, causing the crowd to jeer even more. The jobbers are clearly outmatched. Bad Crew continues their attack with ruthless precision, alternating between double-team maneuvers and quick tags to maintain the assault. Bad Crew #1 hits a huge suplex on one jobber while Bad Crew #2 throws the other out of the ring, following him outside to deliver a savage clothesline. The jobbers have no chance to mount any offense. Bad Crew #2 slides back into the ring, grabs the jobber by the throat, and lifts him into a massive chokeslam. The crowd boos even louder as Bad Crew #1 quickly tags back in and the duo sets up for their finisher. They deliver a double-team powerbomb to one of the jobbers, leaving him motionless on the mat. Bad Crew #1 covers the pinned jobber for the three-count, while Bad Crew #2 stands guard, glaring at the other jobber who’s still struggling to get back to his feet. The referee calls for the bell, and the match is over. Bad Crew #1 & #2 stand tall in the ring, arms raised in dominance, while the crowd reacts with boos. The two jobbers slowly roll out of the ring, clearly outmatched and humiliated. Winners: The Bad Crew Bad Crew continues to taunt the crowd, soaking in the negative reaction as they leave the ring, having sent a message of absolute dominance. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The lights in the arena dim as the camera cuts to a backstage area where Gordon Solie stands, microphone in hand. He looks into the camera with a serious expression. Gordon Solie: "Fans of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, we are about to witness a very important moment in the history of this promotion. As we’ve seen in recent weeks, Smoky Mountain Wrestling has been gaining momentum, and it is with great pride that we now bring to you the man responsible for its creation and future direction." (He pauses for a moment, his tone becoming more authoritative) "Please join me in welcoming the owner, promoter, and booker of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the man who will lead this promotion into the next chapter, the legendary Ole Anderson." The camera cuts to a shot of Ole Anderson, dressed in a sharp suit, stepping out from behind the curtain and walking towards the podium. The crowd’s reaction is a mixture of curiosity and applause as Ole enters the ring. He nods at the crowd before taking the microphone from Gordon Solie. Ole Anderson: "Thank you, Gordon. First off, let me make one thing clear: Smoky Mountain Wrestling is here to stay. We’re not some fly-by-night operation. We’ve got the talent, we’ve got the vision, and most importantly, we’ve got the passion to bring you the very best wrestling this region has ever seen." (Ole pauses for a moment, allowing the crowd to react.) Ole Anderson "Some of you might be wondering why I’m the man in charge here. Well, I’ve been in this business for a long time, and I’ve seen all the highs, the lows, the politics, the real fighting that happens inside and outside the ring. I’m here because I know what this business needs. What Smoky Mountain Wrestling needs is a promoter who’s willing to take risks, who’s not afraid to put on a product that’ll make you stand up and pay attention." (The crowd responds with cheers and applause.) Ole Anderson "Now, I know there are a lot of big names in this promotion. But let me tell you something, it's not about any one person. It’s about what we can do together. We’re going to put on matches that you’ll remember, build rivalries that’ll keep you coming back, and showcase the true heart of professional wrestling right here in the Smoky Mountains." (He adjusts the microphone, his tone becoming more intense.) Ole Anderson "We’ve got a lot of work to do, but trust me when I say, this is only the beginning. So sit back, enjoy the ride, and don’t blink, because we’re just getting started." (He drops the mic, nodding at Gordon Solie, and exits the ring with the crowd continuing to cheer. Solie watches him leave before addressing the audience.) Gordon Solie: "Well, there you have it, folks. Ole Anderson, the man behind Smoky Mountain Wrestling. It looks like we are in for an exciting, unpredictable future in the Smoky Mountains, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what’s next." The camera cuts to a commercial break —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Champion vs. Mike Davis Chris Champion makes his way to the ring, strutting with confidence as the crowd reacts. He’s followed by Mike Davis, who enters to a more modest reception. The bell rings, and both men lock up in the center of the ring. Champion immediately takes control, backing Davis into the corner and delivering a clean break before taunting the crowd. Davis, not backing down, charges at Champion and connects with a series of right hands, but Champion quickly counters with a knee to the midsection. Champion throws Davis into the ropes and hits a big back elbow, sending Davis crashing to the mat. Champion follows up with a knee drop and goes for the early pin, but Davis kicks out at two. Champion continues his assault, slowing the pace and working over Davis with methodical strikes and a chin lock. Davis manages to fight back with a series of elbows and a dropkick that sends Champion to the outside. Davis attempts a dive over the top rope, but Champion moves just in time, sending Davis crashing to the floor. Champion taunts the crowd again before tossing Davis back into the ring. Back inside, Champion hits a Russian leg sweep into a bridge for another two-count. Frustrated, Champion picks Davis up and delivers a superkick to the chin, knocking Davis to the canvas. He covers Davis and gets the three-count. Winner: Chris Champion —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Champion steps off the apron after his win, catching his breath as he heads toward the interview podium. As he approaches, Doug Gilbert is already nearby with Gordon Solie, leaning casually with a cocky grin. Doug Gilbert: "Well, that was... something. If I had a nickel for every soft win like that, I’d have my name on the building by now." Champion hears the remark and turns immediately, stepping toward Gilbert. Chris Champion: "You talking about me?" Doug Gilbert: "You’re the only one who just squeaked by out there. I’ve seen more fire from a wet matchstick." Chris Champion: "You got a lot to say standing behind a microphone. Why don’t you step in the ring and show us all how it's done?" Doug Gilbert: "Oh, don’t worry—I’ll be out there next week. And since you’re so interested, why don’t you pull up a seat next to Solie and watch how a real professional gets it done." Chris Champion: "You bet I will. And if you stumble for a second, I’ll be right there to remind everyone who the real star is." The two stare each other down as Gordon Solie calmly moves them apart. Gordon Solie: "Well, it seems tempers are flaring here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. We'll see what happens next week when Doug Gilbert steps into the ring. It looks like Chris Champion will be keeping a close eye." —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Akio Sato vs. JT Smith Akio Sato enters the ring with a calm, focused demeanor, offering a respectful bow before turning ice cold as JT Smith makes his entrance, hyping up the crowd with his energy. The bell rings, and the two men circle before locking up. Sato immediately takes Smith down with a quick armdrag and smirks, showing his technical precision. Smith responds with a dropkick and a hip toss, getting the crowd behind him. Sato bails to the outside, slowing the pace, before reentering with a more aggressive approach. He catches Smith with a hard chop, then snaps him over with a suplex and follows with a knee across the throat. Smith fires back with a flying headscissors and a roll-up for a close two-count. As Smith goes for a springboard move, Sato ducks and the referee gets slightly bumped in the confusion. Sato seizes the moment to pull a small pouch of powder from his tights and throws it into Smith’s eyes. Blinded, Smith stumbles right into a SPINNING WHEEL KICK! Sato quickly hooks the leg for the pin as the referee recovers and counts the three. Winner: Akio Sato Sato bows again after the match, grinning slyly as the crowd boos. Smith is left coughing and wiping at his eyes, furious about what just happen. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The camera cuts to a dimly lit corner of the SMW studio backstage area. A red-tinted spotlight barely lights the scene. Gordon Solie stands stiffly, microphone in hand. Next to him is a haunting presence: The Vampire Warrior face painted pale, eyes dark, and fangs bared in a silent grin. Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, joining me now is a man who has sent quite a chill through the SMW locker room the Vampire Warrior. You've just arrived in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. What should fans expect from you?" The Vampire Warrior leans in slowly, staring through Solie with unsettling intensity before speaking in a cold, low rasp. Vampire Warrior: "Fear... fear is the first thing they'll feel when the lights go out. Then comes the pain. In this world of fighters and heroes... I'm the shadow that follows them. I'm not here to win their belts... I'm here to drink their souls." Solie raises an eyebrow, clearly unsettled. Gordon Solie: "That’s a rather ominous message. Is there anyone in particular you’re targeting in SMW?" Vampire Warrior: "Anyone with a pulse. Anyone who thinks they’re safe when the bell rings. I don't care if it's Bob Armstrong, Doug Gilbert, or anyone else waving a banner for East Tennessee. I'll be waiting... in the dark." He lets out a chilling, hollow laugh before walking off into the shadows as the camera slowly fades to black. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main Event: The Colossal Kongs with Adnan Al Kassie vs. The Batten Twins (Bart & Brad Batten) The Batten Twins enter to a strong reaction from the East Tennessee crowd, slapping hands and rallying support. Moments later, the entire atmosphere shifts as the massive Colossal Kongs—Awesome Kong and Krusher Kong lumber down the small aisle, flanked by the ominous presence of their handler Adnan Al Kassie, their sheer size dwarfing everyone in the studio. The bell rings, and Bart Batten starts off with Krusher Kong. Bart uses his speed to duck a big clothesline and delivers several quick forearms. Krusher stumbles, but it’s not enough to topple the giant. Bart hits the ropes only to be flattened by a huge body block from Krusher. Brad tags in and tries a flying axe handle from the top, but is caught mid-air and slammed hard to the mat. The Kongs proceed to take turns demolishing both Batten brothers, using crushing corner avalanches, massive elbow drops, and punishing double-team moves. After several minutes of relentless punishment, the Kongs deliver their finishing sequence: Krusher hits a powerslam on Bart, and Awesome Kong follows with a massive splash. 1-2-3. Winners: The Colossal Kongs After the bell, the destruction continues. The Kongs toss Brad through the ropes and hit Bart with another devastating splash. Studio personnel rush in, but the Kong's roar and swing wildly, clearing the ring. The Batten Twins are left laid out as medics check on them, and the Kongs stand tall dominant and unchallenged. —---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the Colossal Kongs exit the studio arena, triumphant and snarling, the feed suddenly cuts to a shaky handheld camera shot backstage. Panic is unfolding. We see referees and backstage crew rushing down a hallway. A camera follows then captures the mayhem. Timothy Well and Steven Dunn are being brutally assaulted, and tossed into equipment crates, stomped and clubbed with steel chairs by two massive, identical men in black jeans and combat boots. Don and Ron Harris, grim and expressionless, are methodically dismantling the popular tag team. One twin hoists Doll and powerbombs him onto a stack of wooden pallets. The other slams King against a cinderblock wall and drags him across the floor. Gordon Solie’s voice crackles in from the studio. Gordon Solie: "Ladies and gentlemen, we’re witnessing a savage, unprovoked attack here in the SMW locker room—those men are twins, and from the look of it… they’ve come with a message!" Suddenly, Ole Anderson storms into the scene, pushing past staff and security, his voice booming. Ole Anderson: "Hey! Break it up! You wanna make a name, boys? You don’t jump contracts in the hallway like a couple of punks you do it in the ring! But you made your bed now!" Don Harris sneers, brushing off an official. Ron squares up, but Ole doesn’t back down. Ole Anderson: "You want a fight in Smoky Mountain Wrestling? Next week, you’ll be in that ring. And I don’t care who signs the paycheck you lay your hands on my crew again backstage, and you’ll wish you hadn’t signed at all!" The Harris Brothers back off slowly, smirking coldly as medics rush in to check on Doll and King, both groaning and clutching ribs and limbs. As Ole Anderson stands over the wreckage backstage, fuming with authority, Paul Ellering steps into frame, dressed sharply in a dark trench coat and tinted glasses, his expression unreadable until it curls into a knowing, mocking grin. Paul Ellering: "Well, well... Ole Anderson barking orders like it’s still 1985. You’re still trying to hold this house together with duct tape and tough talk." Ole glares, clearly not in the mood. Ole Anderson: "You got something to say, say it." Paul Ellering: "Oh, I’ve got plenty to say. But it looks like the Harris Brothers already did the talking for me, didn’t they?" Ellering glances toward the damage, the battered Well Dunn being checked on by medical staff. Paul Ellering: "You think Smoky Mountain Wrestling is yours to control? You’re looking at a new chapter, old man. Chaos isn’t coming. It’s already here." He gives a parting smirk and walks off calmly down the hall. Ole watches him go, eyes narrowed, fists clenched. The tension hangs thick as the camera zooms in on Ole’s scowl before fading to black. OOC: I do all my writing on google sheets. It seems this site isn't so nice about copying and pasting from Google Sheets to here. Oh well, I will format the show better next week but that is a taste of SMW debut!
  12. Smoky Mountain Wrestling Headquarters: Knoxville, Tennessee Promotor/Owner/Booker: Ole Anderson Commentary: "The Golden Voice" Gordon Solie Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Champion: "Bullet" Bob Armstrong Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions: Well Dunn (Timothy Well and Steven Dunn) Smoky Mountain Television Champion: *Vacant* OOC: Hey everyone, I’ll be running this independent promotion for the next four months as I build out a full roster. Depending on how things go, I may either continue this story or launch a brand new promotion it just depends on how the cards fall. I’m fully aware that any of the wrestlers I’m using could be signed elsewhere at any time, and that’s totally fine. That’s just the nature of the indie scene, and I’ll adjust accordingly just like a real promotion would. This first post is mostly housekeeping to help me stay organized with what I have in motion. My first show will go up tonight, and I’m really excited to join everyone on this journey. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out!
  13. This whole topic should be about wrestling. If you want to be a martyr so bad why don’t you go into target and protest them. Tell all the workers to quit their jobs. Why don’t you actually make change within the world instead of preaching at me on a wrestling message board. I don’t know you man. You just want everyone to think and believe like you. How is you preaching on here going to make anyone want to communicate with you. I’m open to discussion but this is bullying and bashing others. I am not even MAGA or support, I worked within community to help the Harris campaign. What exactly did you do? Just sit online and bitch and whine. I hate to tell you this but I’m not the only that feels this way. Why do you think participation is down on this site. Cause idiots like you want to preach to everyone that your ideas and morals are above everyone else’s. That everyone should automatically assume if you like WWE you are a racist, sexist and January 6ther. Just read the posts here and realize that you are the problem. maybe take your own advice and grow some thicker skin my guy. What you are doing is no better than MAGA. Go instill actual change instead of begging others like CM Punk and wrestlers to do it for you.
  14. I know you are trolling but you want thousands of innocent people to die who had nothing to do with this? I just wanted to point this out as going to a major extreme that is just stupid and needless. Where are the mods and admins to warn about posts like this?
  15. Can we now go back to talking about wrestling only. This whole political discussion is annoying AF and just turning people off from wanting to post here cause they are afraid they will be bashed and called names for enjoying the product that brought us all here.

    AEW TV Megathread

I totally called Elite Deathriders. I wish I didn’t but it was pretty obvious that was way the way it was going. As for the rest of the show. Just meh. Nothing important happen and just a show that was there. The 8 man tag for 400,000 dollars was just random. It was a solid match but just seemed they booked to kill time. 2025 and using the phrase dookie all over the floor is something for sure. We all know Kenny is the worst on the microphone but at least he tries I guess.
  17. Somehow people will still complain about it but all three are worthy and glad to see it happen.

    AEW Dynasty 2025

Cause it sounds like something AEW would do. Especially with Double or Nothing coming up and Anarchy in the Arena match.
  19. That’s a great question. I honestly don’t think she has or at least if she wasn’t it wasn’t anything memorable. I enjoyed the back and forth but it also brings an issue to why face to face promos are a sorta stupid thing logically. In real life if you are face to face to someone and you just keep taking shots at each other it will blow up and won’t just end with people walking away for the most part. Tiffany actually looked good and the crowd ate it up. Flair went to weird mode and when she made fun of her voice that’s when I was checked out. My biggest peeve of the whole is thing is I view Flair in the same boat as The Bucks both are talented performers but what do you do with them exactly. The matches are all the same, the promos aren’t different. So what’s their value. You can’t let them go cause the other side will hire them. It’s just they tread water and make fat checks and accomplish nothing. Nobody gets over and they just waste space. I was enjoying the division without Flair but her name will give her a job for life, hall of fame induction and treated like the greatest ever. I will say that ending segment with Punk/Seth/Roman/Heyman was amazing though and deserves to be talked about. That match didn’t have me sold till that segment. I actually love they told the story from 12 years ago with Heyman saying he would accompany Punk when he main events WM. To see long term storytelling on a WWE show is wild. Punk cashed in his favor and having Roman get pissed about it when Heyman basically refuses to tell Punk that’s not happening to having Seth just laugh in the background. That was really well executed and done. Kudos to whoever is writing that story cause they nailed it.

    AEW Dynasty 2025

They why book it? if the object is to get talent over but then decide to feed that talent to two guys that everyone knows isn’t losing for a while. Why do that match. We know Cage got hurt and made them have to shift but they could have chosen at least someone else. I think something needs to be asked who in the tag division has even been built up enough to beat the Hurt Business or whatever they call themselves now. Say what you want but this tag division is in shambles compared to previous years. yeah that’s what I was getting at. They didn’t just leave they ran away and said why they were leaving. So to just randomly show back up and cost Swerve the title and give Moxley the win is absolutely stupid logic. WWE gets flak for writing teams but it looks like TK needs some help cause his stories are dogshit. We don’t think The Bucks join the Deathriders in some hybrid Elite Deathrider thing do we? God, that would be the worst ever.
  21. KingBoggs33

    AEW Dynasty 2025

lo fuckin l TK is going to be TK. That’s for sure. I can’t wait to see people try and bend to make this any sense. Cause even storyline wise it makes none. The way the bucks left made absolutely no sense they would return and help Mox or have any reason to screw Swerve people online are saying it’s setting up swerve and hangman vs bucks but who wants that match? We’ve already seen bucks vs hangman and Kenny and no way anything can top that match involving the three. Am I like missing something with Mox? Why is he treated like an unbeatable machine and an Ace for? His work has nosedived off a cliff from when he first joined the company. Everyone in the death riders angle hasn’t improved any of their stock Another PPV ruined due to a shitty ending in my own opinion
  22. Yeah I have noticed the same issue and it's pretty annoying honestly. It's kinda why I quit visiting here as much as I used to.
  23. That’s wild but I will say WWE 2k25 knocked it out the park this year. I guess that’s also cause I went in with extremely low expectations but I absolutely love it. I haven’t touched myrise yet but I plan on it but I love that the stories aren’t just weird made up ones that were strange like Edge and Candice Michelle having magical powers. To get back on topic. I watched the old PPVs and boy was it HORRIBLE idea to let Cody never challenge for the AEW Title I know it’s cause he put the stipulation on himself, but it Might just be one of the all time fumbles. Also rewatching. I can’t believe the company invested time and resources into Jake Hager. lol The announce team has always been bad in AEW. Ross never wanted to be there. He just didn’t like being told to retire. TS has and always will be horrible, Excalibur is annoying AF and Taz is just there. Nigel is by far the best though and I enjoyed Kevin Kelly and I love Ian. Ian and Nigel should be the main pBp guys and throw in Caprice who is good as well.
  24. I just wish that a steel cage match would actually be respected as such. Meaning it’s dumb as hell to have someone just randomly bring in bolt cutters and come into the match for no reason whatsoever. Nobody wants to see Mark Davis get involved. It did nothing to the story and to make it worse. He decided to blade as well. Which was absolutely pointless. That was my main issue to many people bled and for no reason. Someone made a comment about WWE turning into Starrcade 85. So what do you call this? It’s obvious the producers for the matches don’t go over things to make sure things are being saved to be special. I thought that the woman’s match was good but it didn’t need that much blood or really any blood for that matter. Call me whatever you want but I felt uncomfortable watching women bleed in a wrestling match. I was not a fan of that and it ruined the whole experience for me and the glass on the gloves made it really uncomfortable for me and I just went back to playing 2K25 and quit watching. I know I’m not the market for that match but I don’t really know who is honestly. I guess it’s for the sickos. The main event was about as piss poor booking as you could get. Why they decided to fuck over the Christian angle and make that contract be pointless is very stupid. I read Fightful said that the decision was made a week going into the PPV. Which just means TK never had direction for it and was just throwing shit at a wall and hoping it stuck. So congrats TK you managed to make all three men look like goobers. That was a good PPV though. I also found it funny they signed The Costco Guys to a contract when they are about to use up their 15 minutes of fame. I say a solid 7/10.
