IWC First Strike January 19, 2019 Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, CA. Shown live on YouTube and the Lucha Libre Network. The main event of the evening will be a continuation of one of the most intense feuds from Mexico over the last few years, as LA Park will team with El Hijo del LA Park and Bandido to take on Los Ingobernables. Rush and LA Park hate each other and this should be an intense war. Two of the top tag teams in the world will square off as The Lucha Brothers will take on the team of The Boss 'n' Hug Connection. Which tag team is the best in IWC? A dream match rudo Bárbaro Cavernario and técnico Máscara Dorada will also take place, as two of the top wrestlers from Mexico will try to prove who is the best luchador. An International Incident will happen at First Strike as five competitors from all over the world will be in one elimination match. The USA will be represented by Mercedes Martinez, Mexico by Dragon Lee, Canada by "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Japan by Kairi Hojo, and New Zealand by Toni Storm. A few more matches will be added on to feature the talent of IWC.

Lucha Libre is coming to the USA! highlights from the article posted on espn.com Ron Skoler (New York City Entertainment Lawyer) is a big fan of lucha libre. After visiting Mexico many times to see lucha libre, Skoler wanted to see this form of pro wrestling in the USA. Getting together with Steven Graham (wrestling booker) and Mike Quackenbush (wrestler, promoter, booker, trainer), Skoler has opened up International Wrestling Council (IWC). Originally set to work with companies in Mexico to promote in the Los Angeles area, many of the luchadors saw this as an opportunity to work full time in the USA and has jumped ship. IWC will debut on January 19th, 2019 with their first event entitled "First Strike" from the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California. You can view this event on YouTube, but also on the brand new "Lucha Libre Network" a streaming service app that is available on all devices. The "Lucha Libre Network" will be available on January 14, 2019 launching with 100 classic lucha matches from Mexico. That back catalog will be expanded upon over time. Each major IWC event will be shown live on the Network and be available On Demand immediately following. The television show "Festival de Lucha" will be put on the Network 30 days after it airs on television. "Festival de Lucha" will be shown live every Thursday night across the USA and northern Mexico in both English and Spanish. You can come to the Globe Thetre in Los Angeles every Thursday night to see IWC's show live. IWC will be truly international, landing stars from all over the globe. Some of the name luchadors signed are LA Park, Rey Fénix, Pentagón Jr., Bárbaro Cavernario, Rush, Dragon Lee, and Máscara Dorada. From Japan Kairi Hojo and CIMA are also on board and America stars like Sasha Banks, Bayley, and The Briscoe Brothers will be appearing as well. On top of that their will be wrestlers from 5 different countries from the very beginning. Things we have learned from IWC is that wrestlers will not be separated by gender or weight, everyone will fight everyone. There will be a "Lightning" Title that will be defended on TV each week in a ten minute time limit match. The challenger will be picked at random from anyone who has won their last match in IWC. Freddie Prince Jr. will be the "Commissioner" of IWC, although he is not expected to appear in person and very rarely be seen in pre taped videos. Following lucha tradition, trios matches will be heavily featured as well as "lucha tag" rules, where you do not need to tag your partner in a tag match, but you can enter as soon as your partner leaves the ring. IWC seems like an interesting experiment with all a possibility of going mainstream, however there is a possibility it could be rejected by the wrestling audience in the States.

Kay Lee Ray is yours and I take Veda Scott to fill her spot.
-
I really hope they don't use Jim Ross as the main commentator. He's been awful for almost a decade now.
-
So far, no conflicts. Any other companies making a list of extras to gobble up?
-
Also, I'll give up Kay Lee Ray if PROGRESS wants a women's division as well and just pick someone else.
-
@El Dragon yeah, my folks will not be on TV each week, more like every third week.

Yeah, if people want to work together to share talent, they are more than free. NJPW said they would be already.
-
Thoughts would people rather see Sasha be the ace of IWC or the ace of the women of IWC? Now thinking about seeing Sasha vs Dragon Lee and Cavernario vs Karii Sane makes me think I should just have one mixed roster. I'll sleep on it, but does anyone have a preference, you will all be the ones reading it.
-
Waiver wire. We randomize a list. If you want to select someone, anyone who is higher on the list can take them instead. Once you select someone successfully you go to the back of the list. One selection per day. Following the NHL Waiver Wire system, although those are based on standings not a random list.

I think it all comes down to how you present it. Russo shit was the worst, but Chikara can fucking rule. Just keep the internal view of the promotion consistent and it's fine. Well, as long as the humour is good.
-
I'm having an internal debate on whether to make my roster completely inter-gender or separate them. If I go inter-gender, I will be dropping some folks. So, for those newbies, don't finalize your rosters just yet.
-
Nowhere near scene decimating. You didn't NXt UK the scene.
-
Yeah, have fun. Real companies aren't so rigid with roster size. ECW had 20 dudes. WCW had 120. We are using real injuries, so if somebody gets injured and is going to miss time, you have a week or so to write them off your show until they return.
-
Doesn't exist. Grab what you need, whether it's tiny or big.
-
We are now selecting two per round, you can take one more.
