Since I finally have been able to keep a podcast going regularly (check out Who Booked This? on the PWO Podcast Network), I think it's time to get back into some armchair booking. What better place to start then WCW in 2000? Souled Out 2000 is a few days away and it's now come out that WCW World Champion Bret Hart is injured and may have to retire, and WCW United States Champion Jeff Jarrett is injured and can not compete. The main event and semi-main event are now cancelled. Head booker, Vince Russo's plan to fix this is to give the title to Tank Abbott. He is fired on the spot. This is when Steven Graham comes in to take over the head booking position, while Kevin Sullivan will be his assistant. Rumours are talents like Chris Benoit and Shane Douglas are unhappy with this decision and may walk out after the ppv. January 16, 2000 Live from the Firstar Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on PPV! Souled Out The original line up was: WCW World Champion Bret Hart vs Sid Vicious WCW US Champion Jeff Jarrett vs Chris Benoit (Triple Threat Theater Series) Terry Funk vs Kevin Nash (Hardcore Match, winner becomes Commissioner of WCW) Buff Bagwell vs Diamond Dallas Page (Last Man Standing) WCW Tag Team Champions David Flair & Crowbar vs Vampiro and a Dream Tag Partner Big Vito & Johnny the Bull w/ Disco Inferno vs The Harris Brothers WCW Cruiserweight Champion Madusa vs Oklahoma WCW Hardcore Champion Brian Knobbs vs Fit Finlay vs Norman Smiley vs Meng Booker T w/ Midnight vs Stevie Ray Tank Abbott vs Jerry Flynn This card will obviously change come Sunday's Souled Out as the new booker is now in place, but how. Will Benoit and company walk? How will they handle the top two matches?

We are open to anything, I think. As long as there is enough to talk about for 30ish minutes. I'll put that angle on the list.

LA Park in CMLL is the best thing ever, here hope it lasts long enough to get a few matches in or longer. Park is the fucking best.

Amazing. I could try to get Leafs season tickets, but sadly I am not rich enough and also there is a 100 year waiting list, so I'd be dead. You can pay monthly here and full tickets are like $160 a month for nosebleeds. They have half season or quarters that are less. The Leafs I hear take first born children. That would be an amazing price... Recent aritcle, from March: The team is telling season ticket holders this week that renewals for next fall will cost roughly an extra 10 to 15 percent, on average. It comes on the heels of a similar increase after last season. On a per-ticket basis, the price of an average seat in the lower bowl is heading up $24, to $270. In the upper bowl, prices are going up $12 per ticket to an average of $94 each. This season, the average re-sale price of a ticket in the nose-bleed sections sells on re-sale websites for close to $150 dollars. so $3,854 to $11,070 for season tickets. That is single tickets. Also waiting list is only about 20 years, so I exaggerated.

Posted this on twitter, but... So... are these deals fool proof or do they have to deliver certain ratings? Are special events dead and the care for the network less important, because TV is now their biggest revenue? Is everything staying the same or will there be massive changes?

Hockey fans? What's your team? What do you think of Vegas making it to the Stanley Cup Finals? If there is enough of us, would love to start a fantasy hockey league next season. I've been a Leafs fan as long as I've been a wrestling fan (1988) and Vegas making the finals is the greatest thing ever (well, next to the Leafs making it).

Finally I got Matt D, which means....... well, no idea what it means, except here is a match filled with character work and the world's greatest babyface in Mayu, the awesome Toni Storm against character heel and bad ass Hana Kimura and Kris Wolf (a wolf trapped in a american girls' body, living in Japan). and I get a Super Porky match, Matt D is the best!

https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/wbt07 The Golden Grahams return to cover the WON Worst Match of the Year from 2012, it's Johnny Ace vs Johnny Cena. Seriously what was Johnny Ace's plan here? Who gave them this match time? Why was this Vince McMahon's favourite match of all time? Put your requests for what you want to watch in this thread, we're only doing requested matches going forward!

Thanks Victator, Brad Armstrong vs Jushin Liger was a match I never saw before, but it was essentially the perfect babyface TV match. Some good matwork for the first half that lead to an exciting finishing stretch with dives and quick pin attempts. Nobody lost their cool, just having a match to try to win. Really fun contest!

This board may be an exception, where we really value footage and dissect, but there seem's to be a lot of people who care more about the business end of things. I've completely given up on back stage shenanigans, stock prices, tv ratings, all of that. Do I like the product or not, determines what I watch. Has there been a shift towards more business caring than product caring? Has Metlzer influenced this change? Am I out to lunch thinking this is happening at all?

I haven't watched a lot of Portland, but HUGE Rick Martel fan and I don't really like Race too much. Race, to me, is 70s/80s Kurt Angle. Big spots for sake of big spots. Let's brainbuster people pon the floor as a transition spot? Fall 1) With that said, Harley not on offense is a joy to watch and his bumping for Martel is pretty awesome early on. The first fall is kind of odd, as Martel essentially controls it mostly with an armbar. Harley would get some hope spots and there would be some nice flurries, but we'd go right back to Martel grinding on Race's arm. Race gains control and works over Martel's neck, including a piledriver. Brainbuster finishes it off. Long fall, about 15 minutes. Fall 2) Martel back on top in this fall. Martel gets even, hitting his own piledriver, but Race gets the foot on the rope. Martel's fire is the fucking best in wrestling history. HIm working over Race in the corner is a thing of beauty. Another beautiful Martel moment, countering the suplex into the sleeperhold to win the second fall. They do the old school, you have to wake up the guy after putting him to sleep. Martel refuses, because he wants to win, but is forced. I never know what to think of this having to wake the guy up, like wouldn't they be dead? Fall 3) Early sleeper, but they roll to the floor. Harley goes for the stupid piledriver on the floor, but luckily it was countered. This third fall is pretty quick paced. Time runs out though and we get a draw. There was a definite sense of build here and a lot of good stuff. Martel is the BEST. Kind of an odd structure though with him dominating the first 15 minutes. I'll go *** 1/2. A good way to start the set.

WWE CAN NOT book babyface well at all.

I judge every wrestler's attractiveness compared to Volk Han, to be honest.

I LOVE the Canadian Rules Hardcore match. I watched it sometime this year and it still holds up (in my view anyways). Heels being heels and ensuring the hometown guy wins because of obscure pro wrestling rules. Much like the Duchess of Queensbury match in WWE. I love it! You better not add this to the show Steven!! Just because most of the stuff we watch for the show sucks, doesn't mean it all has to suck!

Wow. That's insanity if true. Title shot already? This is why I am not watching, that's so fucking stupid.
