  1. Will try to get the table updated today. Going to grab Andre for myself for the 13th , if it is alright with everyone.
  2. AWA show at the Met Center, Bloomington, April 6th The Latin Lovers & Tom Zenk vs. Badd Company & Chick Donovan Badd Company won when Donovan hit a lariat on Zenk into a German Suplex by Diamond Phil Lafon vs. Gama Singh Singh won when Lafon submitted to a Camel Clutch The Garvin Brothers & ? vs. The Wild Bills & Super Destroyer The Army and the fans were both wondering who would be the mystery partner of the Garvins in their six man tag match. So it came as a big surprise when the introduction was made, from the Royal Forest of Dean … “Exotic” Adrian Street? Jaws dropped all around as he made his way to the ring with his valet Miss Linda, with his makeup and bleached blonde pigtails. But when he started to skip and prance around the ring, the Army started to laugh out loud in disbelief that this was the man that the Garvins had brought in as an equalizer. Clearly not taking him seriously as any kind of a threat, the members of the Army shoved him around the ring, laughing as they did so. Bill Irwin got him in the corner and thought it would be a good idea to mockingly yank on one of his pigtails. Big mistake. A livid Street responded to this by blasting Irwin with a flurry of blistering punches to the face. Now it was the Garvins’ turn to laugh as they patted each other on the back as Street wrenched Irwins limbs with a series of brutal arm and leglocks. This set the pace for an intense match as Street and the Garvins battled furiously and the Army used their size and power to battle back. In the end, a series of hard punches from Ron Garvin and Street knocked Irwin to the match, and Street then came off the ropes with a running splash for the pin. Manny Fernandez vs. Samu A rumor that had spread among the crowd before the match was confirmed in the ring introduction that this would be the last match in the AWA for Samu. This made this a bittersweet moment for the many fans of “Samoan Dynamite” as he had an exciting match with the Ragin’ Bull that it looked like he would take the win at any point. In the end, Fernandez came back to hit him with the Flying Burrito forearm to win the match. The crowd gave Samu a standing ovation as he left the ring, and he took the time to give hugs to many of the fans on his way out. AWA Southern Title match : Buddy Rose © vs. Greg Gagne After a back and forth match, the action spilled outside the ring and , when Gagne, tried to get back in the ring, Rose grabbed him by the legs to force a double count out. A spiteful move by Rose, just to keep Gagne from getting a win that wouldn’t even have won Greg the title. AWA World Tag Title match : The Road Warriors © vs. One Man Gang & “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell In an battle of giants, Kaissie’s Krew worked to crush the Roadies with their incredible size, while the Warriors fought back with their spectacular strength. The end came when Animal got Gang in a waistlock and, assisted by Hawk coming with a flying top rope clothesline, hoisted the Big 747 back in a belly to back suplex in an impressive display of power. Animal was able to get the pinfall before Blackwell was able to come in and break up the pin. AWA American Title match : Tito Santana vs. “The Tank” Mike Shaw In perhaps his toughest challenge yet, Santana went to a 20 minute time limit draw with the massive Tank. Hulk Hogan & Mr. Olympia vs. Ken Patera & Paul Orndorff In a reversal of their usual tactics, the members of the Sinister Syndicate instead trapped Hogan in their end of the ring, cutting the ring in half and battering Hogan as they prevented Olympia from tagging in. They seemed particularly focused on Hogan’s injured neck as they wrenched it and hit it with a lot of lariats and suplexes. Patera even got Hogan in a Full Nelson but Hogan was able to get to the ropes before he was forced to give up. Hogan was able to rally and knock Patera and Orndorff over with a big double clothesline, but in falling Patera bowled over the ref. Hogan was able to dive to his corner and tag in Olympia, and the fans hopes rose but then fell when they realized that the ref hadn’t seen it and would inevitably send Olympia back out of the ring. But their disappointment turned to horror when Olympia then proceeded to grab Hogan and hit him with a belly to belly piledriver! The masked man then dashed out of the ring as Patera covered the champ and the ref recovered enough to make the three count that stunned the fans. What could Olympia possibly have been thinking?
  3. AWA All-Star Wrestling for April 6th Chick Donovan vs. Vinnie Valentino Much like the Cuban Commandos last week with the Great Gama Singh , Badd Company came out to accompany their new partner and mentor (who, like Gama, had interfered in their matches the week before) “Golden” Chick Donovan. For all that Valentino looked to get revenge on Donovan for the Latin Lovers defeat, he showed his weakness for getting distracted, first by getting drawn into a posedown with Donovan which opened him up for a cheap shot by his opponent, and then having his attention drawn by the members of Badd Company at ringside, which allowed Donovan to ambush him by brutally clipping his leg from behind with a shoulder block. Donovan then put Valentino in the Figure Four and forced him to submit. The Can-Am Express vs. The Heavenly Bodies As though the Can-Am Express hadn’t had enough trouble with Badd Company and the Cuban Commandos, they now had to deal with the return of the Heavenly Bodies and their pernicious manager, the flamboyant James E. Cornette. The Bodies had appeared in the AWA before (just barely losing a very close match with Tito Santana and Rick Martel) but they were now looking to have a more extended stay, bedeviling the Express in a particularly crazy match. Cornette especially seemed to take glee in annoying the Express, which proved costly to them as Zenk’s distraction allowed him to be taken down with a Prichard lariat, which set him up for the Alabama Jam by Bobby Eaton to get the victory for the Bodies. Who know what sort of trouble they will cause next. Samu vs. Mike Shaw The Tank of Col. Robley’s army has been unstoppable as of late, and he proceeded to just roll right over the always popular Samoan Dynamite. Nothing Samu did could halt Shaw’s momentum, who ultimately flattened him with a clothesline before squashing him with a running sit-splash. Whoever the Colonel decides to target with the tank, they had best be prepared. Jimmy Garvin vs. Billy Jack Haynes Once again, both men had their partners at ringside, and while the battle raged in the ring , a second battle looked like it could explode at ringside at any time. Tensions reached ahead when Haynes got Garvin in a mighty bearhug and looked like he would crush all resistance out of the Gorgeous One, but Garvin rallied and started raining punches down on the face of Billy Jack. It seemed like he might just force Haynes to let go of the hold, but Bill Irwin took that as his cue to jump up on the ring apron. Ron Garvin immediately rushed over and pulled him down to prevent him from interfering, but while the ref was distracted by this, the Super Destroyer (who had snuck down to ringside) got up on the ring apron and grabbed him by the hair, driving him down throat first onto the ring apron. When the ref turned around, he only saw Haynes covering Jimmy and counted the victory for the member of the Wild Bills. The Army celebrated but Ron pulled his brother from the ring and was just heard to say to him, “I have a plan” before they left the ring. The Mothership Connection & Greg Gagne vs. The Playboy Club (Buddy Rose, Rip Oliver & Ed Wiskowski) The Playboy Club seemed especially full of themselves of late, having successfully (by hook or by crook) fended off Mr. Olympia’s challenge to Buddy Rose’s Southern Title and didn’t seem to be taking the match with Gagne and the Connection too seriously. This proved to be a big mistake, as all three of their opponents showed why they are considered among the most skilled competitors in the AWA. Any time Oliver and Wiskowski tried to push the Connection around, they would completely outclass the Club with their double team moves and rapid tags. Gagne put on a technical wrestling clinic that left Rose befuddled. Rose thought he had gotten the advantage on Gagne as he had him trapped in the corner with a bunch of wild, swinging punches. But when he charged in with an elbow smash, Gagne ducked out of the last second and Rose went crashing into the turnbuckle. Gagne then took him down and followed up with a top rope kneedrop for the pin, while the Connection tied up the other members of the Club. After the match, Gagne got on the mic and challenged Rose for the Southern Title. Mr. Olympia vs. Paul Orndorff Speaking of Mr. Olympia …. The popular masked man was dealing with a lot of frustration of late due to his failed attempts to break through the Playboy Club and take the Southern Title from Buddy Rose. For his part, Paul Orndorff had plenty of frustrations of his own as his own challenge to the World title fell short due to the interference of his allies in the Sinister Six. This volatile mix led to an intense match, that swung from displays of technical excellence and flurries of brawling. At one point, Olympia got Orndorff in the Sleeper, but after a tense period it looked like Mr. Wonderful might just work his way out of the hold. We would never find out if he could pull it off, as Ken Patera entered the ring and attacked Olympia, leading to the DQ. Orndorff did nothing but stare as Patera brutally beat down Olympia, and after the AWA officials demanded they leave the ring, the two parted together in stony silence.
  4. Sorry, I know I am behind on updating but all of those last dates for USWA are good.
  5. AWA show at the Winnipeg Arena, Winnipeg, March 29th Mothership Connection vs. Badd Company In a shocking upset, after the blonde man in the suit hit Master Gee with a set of brass knucks, Badd Company got the win following a somersault splash by Diamond Cuban Commandos & Gama Singh vs. Can-Am Express & Samu Commandos & Singh won when Great Gama made Samu submit to the Camel Clutch Road Warriors & “Wild Man” Jack Armstrong vs. Ken Patera, One Man Gang & “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell The Roadies’ partner was originally supposed to be Moose Cholak, but after his retirement at the hands of Kaissie’s Krew, Armstrong was brought in as a replacement. Kaissie’s Krew won when Blackwell hit a running splash on Armstrong. AWA American Title Match : Tito Santana © vs. Super Destroyer After a hard fought match that looked like it might go to a time limit draw, Santana won when he hit the Mexican Hammer out of nowhere for the pin. The Garvin Brothers vs. The Wild Bills In a crazy brawl, this match went to a double DQ when everything broke down and both teams were fighting in the ring at the same time. AWA Southern Title match : Buddy Rose © vs. Mr. Olympia Olympia looked like he would finally get the title when he got the Sleeper hold on Rose, but Rose was able to get a hold of the ropes and pull both men out of the ring. Olympia would not let go of the hold on the outside and , as a result, both men were counted out. After the match, Rose got on the ringside mic and declared that Olympia had just had his last shot at the title. AWA Canadian Title match : Rick Martel © vs. Bob Sweetan In possibly his toughest title defense yet, Martel was able to hold onto the title after a slingshot splash. AWA World Title match : Hulk Hogan © vs. Paul Orndorff Orndorff came out accompanied by Sheikh Kaissie and the rest of Kaissie’s Krew. Hogan came out wearing both a neck collar and bandages on his ribs, and both were clearly targeted by Orndorff throughout the match. Orndorff attacked him like a wild dog, pounding his ribs with punches and wrenching the champ’s neck every chance he could get. Hogan kept fighting back and kept escaping Orndorff’s attempts to get him in the piledriver, but it looked like time was running out for the Hulkster. He was able to rally with some big power moves, but made the mistake of ducking his head too soon for a back body drop attempt, and Orndorff hit him with a nasty elbow smash on the back of his head that clearly hurt Hogan’s already damaged neck. Although exhausted, Orndorff was finally able to get the Piledriver on Hogan that seemed to knock the champ out, before Orndorff staggered back, drained from the effort. At this point the match took a strange turn, as One Man Gang immediately rushed into the ring and hit the running splash right in front of the ref, leading to the immediate call for Orndorff to lose the match by DQ. Orndorff was furious with Gang, Patera and the rest of the Krew, but Kaissie’s Krew didn’t seem to care.
  6. AWA All-Star Wrestling for March 29th Gama Singh vs. Samu It is revealed that the mystery man who interfered in the Cuban Commanos’ matches last week is the Great Gama Singh. Singh was accompanied to the ring by the Commandos as he squared off against the always popular “Samoan Dynamite”, Samu. Singh proceeded to bully Samu all over the ring and, although Samu kept firing back with flurries of offense, Singh was always able to bring the match back under his control before locking him in the Cobra Clutch and getting the win in his AWA in-ring debut. Badd Company vs. The Latin Lovers While these teams have been very familiar with each other of late, for this match Badd Companied were joined at ringside by a blonde haired man wearing a suit. While he never made direct contact with the Lovers, he constantly provided a distraction to Perez and Valentino, hurling insults and seeming on the verge of taking a swing at the popular tag team . This proved too much for the normally amiable Valentino, who started shouting back at the blonde man. This was a big mistake, as when he turned his attention back to the match, he was met with a thrust kick to the jaw by Tanaka that got the quick pin. It looks like more than one tag team is bringing in a new ally to give them an edge. Perhaps the other teams need to catch up. Paul Orndorff vs. “Wild Man” Jack Armstrong This was Armstrong’s second go around with Mr. Wonderful and he was very determined to not have a repeat of his previous match, which was a quick loss for him. He was extremely aggressive from the get go, blasting Orndorff with huge shoulder blocks and slams. Orndorff, for his part, was equally determined to have an impressive showing before his world title shot in Winnipeg, and swiftly rallied to get in his own impressive moves on the Wild Man. The two went at it fist and fire in a match that went back and forth with both men going all out until Armstrong tried to take out Orndorff with the running clothesline. Orndorff ducked at the last second and caught Armstrong coming the other way with a powerslam. He then picked up Armstrong and dropped him on his head with a brutal piledriver. This, however, was not enough for Orndorff, who the lifted up Armstrong and hit a second piledriver before finally going for and getting the pin. Champion Hulk Hogan had best watch out, as Orndorff quite clearly means business. Road Warrior Animal vs. “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell After surviving the challenges of the Wild Samoans and the Assassins, the Road Warriors were staring down the barrel of possibly their toughest challenge yet in Kaissie’s Krew. In this match, Animal and Crusher Blackwell were facing off in a solo match up of power vs. bulk, and it looked like it could have gone either way. Blackwell proved resistant to any attempt to slam him and seemed to do a lot of damage with his own offense. Animal went to blasting Blackwell with clotheslines and, while he was not able to get Crusher off his feet, he did seem to be gradually wearing him down. He finally nailed a mighty shoulder block that sent Blackwell crashing out of the ring and Blackwell was unable to make it back in by the bell, resulting in a countout victory for Animal. That didn’t stop Blackwell from grabbing Animal after the bell and hitting a powerslam on the big Road Warrior. This prompted both Hawk and One Man Gang to rush to the ring and, while the two teams looked set to throw down, the AWA officials interceded and told them to keep it for the next tag match. Ron Garvin vs. “Wild” Bill Irwin This was another matchup of members of feuding tag teams, with Irwin and his partner in the Wild Bills Billy Jack Haynes returning from their extended tour of Europe to plunge headlong in Col. Robley’s Army’s war against the Garvins. Seemingly learning from the previous match on the card, both men had their partners out and in their corner from the get go. There was no finesse in this match with these two tough customers brawling inside and outside the ring until Irwin just said to hell with it and grabbed his bullrope, nailing Garvin in the head with the cowbell and drawing the DQ. This generated the predictable response from Gorgeous Jimmy and Billy Jack and the two teams proceeded to tear up the ringside area, requiring a whole squad of AWA refs to try and cool the situation down. Mr. Olympia & Rick Martel vs. Buddy Rose & Bob Sweetan In the latest match in Mr. Olympia’s ongoing issues with the Playboy Club, he brought in the always popular Canadian champ Rick Martel. The two fan favorites worked like a well oiled machine as they were able to keep the Playboy Club from ever getting their offense coordinated, befuddling them with an array of quick tags and double team moves. For a short while, Rose was able to rally against Olympia but the masked man came back with a precision dropkick assisted by a schoolboy trip by Martel. Sweetan came in to break it up but Martel blocked him while Olympia got the pinfall. He had managed to get a victory over the Southern champ, but would he be able to get it done when the title was on the line?
  7. Small correction, shuffling things around ... will be using Gama Singh and possibly Chick Donovan on my remaining March shows as neither Cholak nor Lefebvre will be active on my roster in that time. Javier Cruz will not come back in until the April shows, so he will be my +1. Sorry for the confusion.
  8. The second AWA wrestler released is "Mad Dog" Pierre Lefebvre.
  9. AWA show Night Of The Cage in the Mecca, Milwaukee, March 22nd Elimination match : The Latin Lovers & The Can-Am Express vs. The Cuban Commandos & Badd Company The Cuban Commandos were accompanied by the same man who interfered in their TV match. Both Cuban Commandos were the sole survivors when Phil Lafon (the last survivor of his team) came off the ropes but was tripped by the mystery man, leading to him staggering and getting hit with a DDT by Angel Acevedo. Samu & “Wildman” Jack Armstrong vs. One Man Gang & “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell Kaissie’s Krew won when Gang landed on Samu with the 747 Splash . Greg Gagne & The Mothership Connection vs. Ed Wiskowski, Rip Oliver & Bob Sweetan The Playboy Club won when “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan hit the Piledriver on Iceman Parsons Tito Santana & The Garvin Brothers vs. Manny Fernandez, “The Tank” Mike Shaw & Super Destroyer In a lengthy and chaotic brawl, Fernandez ducked the Hands Of Stone punch from Ron Garvin only to run right into the Mexican Hammer. Santana and the Garvins were triumphant but didn’t get long to savor their victory as they were immediately jumped by “Wild” Bill Irwin and Billy Jack Haynes. The Wild Bills are back and the entire Army beat down the fan favorites until the AWA officials cleared them from the ring. AWA Southern Title Cage match : Buddy Rose © vs. Mr. Olympia Olympia has been worn down by his dual wars with the Sinister Six and the Playboy Club, but really put it to the Southern Champ, battering and bouncing him around the cage. Buddy Rose showed why he is the Southern champ as he got out of a number of close calls, but it looked like it was all over for him when Olympia got the Sleeper hold on him. In desperation, Rose was able to make it to the corner and kick back, forcing Olympia down onto the match with all of Rose’s weight on his chest and letting go of the hold. Rose was able to drape an arm over the exhausted Olympia to get the pinfall. Loser Leaves Town Cage Match : Da Crusher vs. “Mad Dog” Pierre Lefebvre These two unloaded their full hatred on each other in a bloody brawl which saw Lefebvre’s axe handle be used by both men in the match. In the end, it came down two the two men exchanging lefts and rights in the middle of the cage. Crusher was able to uncork one massive running Bolo Punch that knocked Lefebvre off his feet and get the win to send the Mad Dog out of the AWA. AWA World Tag Title Cage Match : The Road Warriors © vs. The Assassins After a number of brutally intense matches, The Assassins were going all out in trying to wrest the belts from the Road Warriors. The Assassins came incredibly close on several occasions to winning the belts as they trapped Animal in their end of the cage and hit a massive double back suplex on him. Animal was able to gut it out and press slammed Assassin # 2 over his head before throwing him into the cage and tagging in Hawk. The two Road Warriors double teamed Assassin # 1, finding every way they could to ram him into the cage before hitting a big spike piledriver on him for the hard fought victory. AWA World Title Cage Match : Hulk Hogan © vs. Ted Dibiase Hogan had faced Dibiase on two prior occasions and , while Dibiase had not gotten the title, Hogan had failed to get a decisive victory over his wily rival. Both men seemed equally determined that tonight would be the night that the balance would tip in their favor. In a ferocious match that went back and forth, Dibiase took full advantage of the No DQ conditions of the cage match to pound him with the loaded glove, jackhammering Hogan’s bandaged ribs as well as busting open his forehead. When he got the figure four on Hogan and the champ made it to the ropes, Dibiase refused to let go of the hold and looked like he was going to full on break Hogan’s leg. Hogan was able to fight his way out of the hold but the damage had been done. Dibiase had Hogan on his knees in the corner and was just raining down punches on his battered face until, out of nowhere, Hogan caught his fist and looked up at him through his bloodied face with rage in his eyes. Hogan dragged himself up to his feet and fired back at Dibiase before he was able to wrest the glove from his hand and then paid back some dues with loaded punches of his own. He was then able to level him with an Axe Bomber before dropping the Big Leg on Dibiase to get the hard earned one-two-three. Hogan had held onto the belt, but at what cost?
  10. AWA All-Star Wrestling for March 22nd The Assassins vs. The Latin Lovers The Assassins were gearing up for their big cage match for the AWA World Tag titles in Milwaukee but the Latin Lovers were determined not to be overlooked, giving as good as they got in every exchange with the bigger team. They did their best to not be distracted by Col. Buck Robley attempting to interfere from ringside, but in the end it was a mistimed attempt at a back body drop with Vinnie Valentino ducking his head too soon led to Assassin # 1 catching Valentino with a nasty elbow smash to the back of the head that led to a win for the masked men. AWA American Title match : Tito Santana © vs. Manny Fernandez These two men are quite familiar with each other, having squared off numerous times with usually Santana coming out the victor. Fernandez , however, was incredibly aggressive and it was all the champion could do to keep control of the match. Tito was just barely able to duck out of the way of the Flying Burrito forearm at one point in the match, but later on missed his own attempt at the Mexican Hammer. The two fierce competitors were still slugging it out as the bell rang to signal a 15 minute time limit draw. Samu vs. “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell The big Crusher has just been rolling over the competition of late, including doing a lot of damage to Hulk Hogan in his recent title shot, and just seemed to overwhelm the always popular “Samoan Dynamite”. No matter what Samu tried to do on offence, he was unable to knock Blackwell down and his increasingly reckless attempts to get him off his feet led to Samu getting caught in mid-air and being crushed by a powerslam that got the pin for the Mountain From Stone Mountain. AWA Southern Tag Titles match : The Cuban Commandos © vs. The Can-Am Express The young team of the new Can-Am Express put in their best effort yet against the Commandos, keeping them off balance with their fast paced, high flying moves, and looking on a number of occasions like they would take the titles. It seemed like they just might pull it off as Tom Zenk went up top to hit a flying splash on Morrow but, while the ref was separating Lafon and Acevedo, a mysterious man appeared at ringside, knocked Zenk off the top to send him plummeting to the floor and then dashed back to the locker room. Zenk was unable to recover in time and the Commandos won by count out. It seems that the Cuban Commandos now have a sinister new ally watching their backs. Greg Gagne vs. Ed Wiskowski In this match between the surly enforcer of the Playboy Club and the long time AWA fan favorite, Wiskowski looked to be trying to take out his frustration for his earlier loss to Mr. Olympia on the second generation superstar. Gagne kept his head and gradually let the Polish Prince tire himself out until he was able to draw Wiskowski into trying to lariat him in the corner only to duck out of the way at the last moment. When Wiskowski staggered back, Gagne took him down with a dropkick and followed up with a second rope kneedrop before putting him in the Gagne Leglock. This was the cue for Wiskowski’s Playboy Club partners, Bob Sweetan and Rip Oliver, to come out but they found their way to the ring blocked by the Mothership Connection, Iceman Parsons and Master Gee. With no rescue forthcoming, Wiskowski had no choice but to give up the match. Mr. Olympia vs. The Masked Superstar Olympia has been fighting a war on two fronts of late, both helping out his good friend Hulk Hogan in his battles with the Sinister Six while dealing with his own issues with the Playboy Club at the same time, and it definitely seems to have taken a toll on the masked fan favorite. Masked Superstar came to the ring with his partner, Ted Dibiase, who proved to be a thorn in Olympia’s side throughout the match. Despite all of this, Olympia managed to stay competitive throughout the match and looked like he would get the win when he got the Sleeper hold on Superstar. It was at this point that Dibiase came in the ring and slugged Olympia with the loaded glove, leading to the DQ loss for Superstar. The two men proceeded to beat down Olympia until the AWA officials ran them off.
  11. Definitely kicking things off with a bang, looking forward to where you go with this.
  12. After the repeated incidences of interference in the last several matches between AWA champion Hulk Hogan and the members of the Sinister Six, AWA officials were in a quandary as to what measures to take. Their first planned response to threaten fines and suspension for future interference wound up getting tied up by Sheikh Adnan Kaissie's team of high powered lawyers. At least as far as the next show in Milwaukee goes, they have managed to come up with a short term measure to at least curb some interference by Kaissie's men. The theme of the show will be Night Of The Cage. On a major card on March 22nd, there will be 4 big cage matches, including : AWA World Title match AWA World Tag Titles match AWA Southern Titles match And a loser leaves town match. There will also be several other major matches announced, including a 6 man tag featuring AWA American Champion Tito Santana and the Garvin Brothers facing Col. Robley's Army.
  13. When writing my TV, I tend to start by seeing what the card will be for the weekend house show and then come up with TV matches that will set things up for that card, or otherwise further existing feuds. I actually moved up the Santana tag match ahead in the card because I didn't want to end with a string of heel beatdowns.
  14. AWA show at the Salt Palace, Salt Lake City, March 15th , 1984 Can-Am Express & The Latin Lovers vs. Badd Company & the Cuban Commandos Badd Company and the Commandos won when Gerry Morrow reversed a Tom Zenk cross body press into a power slam Mothership Connection vs. Bob Sweetan & Rip Oliver Mothership Connection won when Parsons hit the Rumper Stumper on Oliver Samu vs. Manny Fernandez Fernandez won when he got the Flying Burrito Forearm on Samu AWA Southern Title match : Buddy Rose © vs. Mr. Olympia Olympia won by DQ but did not win the title when he was attacked by the rest of the Playboy Club AWA Tag Titles match : The Road Warriors © vs. One Man Gang & Jerry Blackwell The Warriors were looking to get revenge for Kaissie’s Krew’s attack on their good friend Moose Cholak, who it was just announced had to retire due to his injuries at the hands of Crusher and Gang . A lengthy brawl ensued with all four men being busted open and the ref finally having to throw out the match with Hawk and Gang both slugged him for trying to separate the two teams. Tito Santana & Greg Gagne vs. Ken Patera & Paul Orndorff After a long back and forth match, an attempted double team by Patera went awry when Gagne ducked out of the way at the last moment and Patera hit Orndorff instead. Tito quickly hit the Mexican Hammer on Orndoff and got the crowd pleasing victory. Orndorff was clearly unhappy with Patera afterwards. AWA World Title match : Hulk Hogan © vs. Masked Superstar Hogan has been showing signs of the increasing damage done to him by the Sinister Six and has had a lot of difficulty getting a clean victory over the members of the villainous syndicate. It looked like he might finally get one when, after a particularly brutal bout, he just barely managed to duck the flying clothesline from Superstar and came back to hit the Axe Bomber on the masked man. No sooner had he knocked him down, though, than Ted Dibiase stormed the ring and started pummeling him with the loaded glove. Superstar then hit the Corkscrew Neckbreaker that clearly hurt Hogan’s already damaged neck. After the ref called for the DQ, the AWA officials were seen conferring about what to do about this situation.
  15. For the AWA's +1, we are picking up "Golden" Chick Donovan. We are also adding to the roster Gama Singh and welcoming back Javier Cruz. To make way for them on the roster, we are releasing "Golden" Moose Cholak (can only have on "Golden" on the roster, after all) and another wrestler who will be revealed after the next set of shows (March 22nd) get posted. (Not trying to be coy, just don't want to reveal my booking until it gets posted. The new wrestlers will not appear on AWA shows until I start posting April shows.)
  16. AWA All-Star Wrestling for March 15th Mr. Olympia vs. Ed Wiskowski Olympia has been deep in an ongoing war with the Playboy Club and this time was taking on the powerhouse “Polish Prince”. Wiskowski opened a barrage of devastating offense on Olympia, looking to do as much damage as he could before the masked man took on Buddy Rose for the Southern Title. Olympia weathered the storm, however, and battled back until he ultimately got the Powerlock (Figure Four) on the Prince, forcing him to give up the match. But that was not enough for Olympia, who refused to let go of the hold after the bell until Rose and the rest of the Playboy Club came into the ring and attacked them. Even after that, the didn’t get him down for long as he proceeded to dropkick all of the Club members out of the ring, and the last thing they saw as they fled was Olympia standing tall in the ring. AWA Southern Title match : “Playboy” Buddy Rose © vs. Tom Zenk Say what you will about Buddy Rose and his tactics, he has ducked no one in defending his newly won AWA Southern title. This time out, he was taking on the fiery young newcomer, Tom Zenk of the Can-Am Express. For his part, Zenk gave a very good accounting of himself , looking at a few points like he just might pull off the upset and win the Southern title. In the end, however, it was his impetuousness that would prove his downfall, as he went up top to finish Rose off with the flying dropkick far too soon. Rose dodged the move and Zenk landed hard on the mat. One Inside Out Backbreaker later, and it was another successful title defense for the Playboy. Tito Santana & the Latin Lovers vs. “Mad Dog” Pierre Lefebvre & Badd Company Throughout the match, Lefebvre was clearly distracted, constantly looking back to the locker room. His paranoia would prove justified as his nemesis, Da Crusher , would come out to the ring and make his presence felt. Lebfebvre would head immediately to the ring aisle and start brawling with Crusher while, in the ring, Santana took advantage of the distraction to hit Tanaka with the Mexican Hammer into a Perez German Suplex for the victory. Badd Company were distinctly displeased with this result but, seeing they were outnumbered, decided not to push the point. Bob Sweetan vs. Master Gee In a match pitting the tough “Bruiser” Bob against the quick Master Gee, Sweetan was able to grind down Master Gee until he was able to hit the Piledriver to get the win. This was not enough for Sweetan, however, who tried to set up Master Gee for a second piledriver after the match. Iceman Parsons immediately came to his partner’s rescue and broke that up, provoking Rip Oliver to come to the ring to take the side of his fellow Playboy Club member and the two sides brawled until the AWA officials split them up. “Crusher” Jerry Blackwell vs. Moose Cholak In a battle of two huge veterans, Blackwell was accompanied at ringside by his Sinister Six/Kaissie’s Krew partner, One Man Gang. This match looked like it could have gone either way, but when Cholak was trying to take down Blackwell with lariats, the Mountain From Stone Mountain caught him with a massive power slam to get the win. The moment after the victory was announced, One Man Gang ran into the ring and hit Cholak with a running splash before he and Blackwell proceeded to beat down the big Moose with the chain, clearly looking to put Cholak out of wrestling for good. “Wildman” Jack Armstrong rushed out to put a halt to this, but got a chain to the face for his troubles. The Road Warriors then came out swinging chairs to run them off but Cholak had clearly been very badly hurt. Hulk Hogan & Jack Armstrong vs. Ted Disbiase & Masked Superstar Armstrong was still hurt from the previous match, so Hogan brought out his good friend, Mr. Olympia , to partner him for his match with two members of the Sinister Six. Dibiase and Superstar took advantage of Olympia still being tired from his earlier match by cutting the ring in half and preventing him from tagging out to Hogan as they beat him down. Olympia was able to rally and dropkick both his opponents before making the hot tag out to Hogan. Unfortunately for him, the ref did not see the tag and, as he was ushering Hogan out of the ring, Dibiase took advantage of the distraction to clobber Olympia with the loaded glove, setting him up to be pinned by Superstar. Superstar then looked to hit the Corkscrew Neckbreaker on Olympia post match, but Hogan charged in to his friend’s rescue and put a stop to that.
  17. Great first show in Texas, excellent use of Baby Doll.
  18. I'm good with that.
  19. Am I the only one who is especially psyched to see Landell in Stampede?
  20. I can give Adrian Street a home , if nobody objects. I have a few things I can do with him.
  21. I think we can probably figure it out among us without going to a draft. If someone else wants the RnR, I would gladly take the Bodies.
  22. I'd be interested in either of the tag teams.
  23. I believe, in our universe at least, Maple Leaf put out a tape before they folded.
  24. I like to steal from a variety of sources, and I am shamelessly ripping of a classic comic book storyline with the Hogan angle. Stay tuned! I tend to stack the San Francisco shows since they are so far from home base, they would do every thing they can to draw in the big houses. I also have Buddy Rose with a history in the bay area, so I put him in a title defense rather than a tag match. Orndorff and Tito are two guys who are going to be very much front and center this year.
