AWA All-Star Wrestling on ESPN/TSN for December 14th The Can-Am Express vs. The PYT Express After walking out on Playboy After Dark last week, it looks like Koko Ware has found a new partner in the newly arriving Brickhouse Brown. Both men came to the ring wearing shades and red leather jackets. While they came off as extremely arrogant, the PYT Express were extremely polished in the first match, finishing Zenk off with a spike brainbuster. Badd Company vs. Buzz Sawyer & Dave Schultz While Badd Company gave a very good accounting of themselves, in the end they were overwhelmed by Col. Buck Robley's Army, with Tanaka being pinned after a huge double lariat. Wahoo McDaniel vs. Al Perez After Wahoo's partner, Ron Garvin, pretty much ran Ricky Santana out of the AWA last week, it looked like McDaniel would do the same to Al Perez this time out. Perez was very wary of locking up with Wahoo, who came after him with massive chops and finally got him down in the Indian Deathlock. It seemed like that would be it for Perez, but help came from an unexpected source when "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo charged into the ring and attacked Wahoo, ultimately hitting an over-the-shoulder neckbreaker on the Chief. He and Perez then put the boots to Wahoo until Garvin charged the ring and ran them off. Eddie Gilbert vs. Curt Hennig After a lengthy, back and forth battle, Gilbert had gotten the advantage with a nasty low blow, but was unable to capitalize as Buddy Rose came out of nowhere to enter the ring and started savagely pummeling him. Gilbert was given the victory by DQ and Hennig had to pull the Playboy off Hot Stuff before he took it too far. Paul Orndorff vs. Bob Roop After a match where Roop spent much of his offense working over Orndorff's right arm to set him up for the Shoulder Breaker, Orndorff was able to pick up Roop with his left arm and hit a one armed power slam for the win. After the match, Orndorff was bellowing, "Where's Patera? I want Patera!"

Apart from helping with the introduction of new wrestlers, squash matches really don't help with my TV format. I prefer to use it to set up angles and matches (like the Roadies vs. Sawyer and Shultz) or have their own little storylines (like Regal and Rotunda taking on Lord Humongous). Koko had been a member of the First Family in Memphis as a heel. I have huge love for Koko but he has been kind of spinning his wheels lately. I've come up with a fun angle for him that I think folks will find interesting.

OK, guys, at 4 weeks behind and little time to get caught up, I've had to throw in the towel and point form my shows. I'd prefer to put more detail into my TV shows, but this is the only way I am going to get caught up. I've had several whammies thrown at me this month but I assure you that I will be back on track with some great things planned for the new year. I appreciate the patience and support you guys have given me.

Sorry to hear that, LBP, take care and come back when you are ready.

AWA Show at the Met Center, Bloomington, December 7th (As shown on ESPN/TSN Super Cards) Mike Rotunda & Steven Regal vs. Lord Humongous & Sheikh Adnan Kaissie Rotunda won with a crucifix on Kaissie Ed Wiskowski & Koko Ware vs. Rip Oliver & Bob Sweetan Once again, Ware abandoned Wiskowski when he was going for a hot tag, leading to the Polish Prince losing to a Spike Piledriver by the Bad News Breakers Bad News Allen vs. Greg Gagne Bad News won with the Bad News Blaster Bob Roop vs. Master Gee Roop won with the Shoulder Breaker AWA Southern Title match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Al Perez Steamboat got the win by countering a German Suplex attempt with an inside cradle AWA Southern Tag Title match : Ron Garvin & Wahoo McDaniel © vs. The Cuban Commandos Wahoo forced Gerry Morrow to give up to an Indian Deathlock to get the victory AWA World Tag Title match : The Road Warriors © vs. Buzz Sawyer & Dave Schultz Both teams went to a double DQ when they both started using Sawyer's chain Paul Orndorff vs. Mr. Olympia Orndorff got the victory with a Piledriver

AWA All-Star Wrestling on ESPN/TSN for December 7th Lord Humongous vs. Mike Rotunda Rotunda won by countout when he clotheslined Humongous over the top rope. Sheikh Kaissie tried to interfere but was stopped cold when the returning Steven Regal hit him with the Iron Fist Buddy Rose, Ed Wiskowski & Koko Ware vs. Eddie Gilbert, Rip Oliver & Bob Sweetan Strangely, Ware seemed entirely disinterested in the match and spent it on the ring apron. When Rose was going for the hot tag, Ware jumped off the ring apron and slowly walked to the back, leading to Rose getting blindsided by Gilbert and losing by pinfall. Ron Garvin vs. Ricky Santana Hot off winning the AWA Southern Tag Titles, Garvin destroyed the former champ, Ricky Santana, with the Hands Of Stone punch after a particularly vicious Garvin Stomp. Al Perez was nowhere to be seen in this match. Road Warrior Animal vs. David Schultz Animal won by DQ when Buzz Sawyer attacked him with a chain. Sawyer and Schultz beat down Animal with the chain until Hawk rushed in and cleared the ring. Mr. Olympia vs. Paul Orndorff Orndorff won with a sunset flip out of the corner

Did Thornley ever work outside of the UK?
-
One AWA change that was missed, Sunshine is now on the AWA roster, Ricky Santana is out.
-
In the process of getting caught up, would the members of the project object be all right if the AWA maintained open communication and individual working relationships with both New Japan and All Japan (whoever ends up taking over)? I know this isn't, strictly speaking, realistic, but it works with how I try to run my territory as a major independent.
-
Guys, I have been incredibly sick for the past week and it has knocked me flat on my back, so it has been a struggle to get caught up. I am definitely still in the game but I am behind on both posting and replying to people, and I apologize for that.
-
Is that "Mr Electricity" Steve Regal whom, last I checked, was a free agent, or the young Darren Matthews, British wrestler currently on my roster as Steven Regal?
-
The AWA welcomes back "The Polish Hammer" Ivan Putski and releases The Great Gama Singh.
-
The AWA adds Brickhouse Brown and drops Gerry Morrow.
-
The AWA adds some much needed Sunshine to their roster, dropping Ricky Santana to make way for her.
-
Joel Deaton seems to be another double entry.
-
Just the way we run the Fresh Face draft. Last person out of the draft gets the most picks, first person out of it gets the first pick in the next year's draft.
-
Ninja Warrior (Mr. Pogo) Mr. Pogo is showing on the MACW roster.
-
47? Given that most people drafted won't be starting until January 1st or later.
-
Tina Ferrari is Ivory, correct? If so, great choice to start the division.
-
George "Master Gee" Wells will be leaving the AWA to make way for their final draft selection.
-
Thought that's where Memphis would go. AWA takes Jack Victory and steps out of the draft.
