  1. Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, May 22nd Cactus Jack vs. Eddie Guerrero Eddie has had a grueling weekend, first with a intense battle with Steven Regal yesterday, and now he has to face his rival Art Barr's best friend Cactus Jack. To his credit, Eddie gave the man from Truth Or Consequences a determined fight before going down to the side Russian Legsweep. Brett & Owen Hart vs. John Tatum & Jack Victory Both of these teams are really coming into their own of late, resulting in a tense and highly competitive bout that wound up going to a 20 minute time limit draw Leo Burke vs. Curtis Hughes The veteran Burke really took it to Ronnie P. Gossett's Big Cat, pushing him to the limit before Hughes was finally able to hit the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee) for the win Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red & Fit Finlay vs. The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) & Gary Young Once again, Billy Jack, this time with his good friends teaming with him, did battle with the Knight's Templar, with both sides coming close to taking the match before Finlay was able to pin Snow after the Tombstone Piledriver Tabarnak De Tam (Big Jos Leduc & Pierre Carl Ouellet) & John Tenta vs. Badd Company & Mr. Hito Another exciting six man tag match, with TDT hitting the Clear Cut (Leduc put Tanaka over his knee while Ouellet came off the top with a flying elbow smash) to score a major victory for their team California Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Brian Pillman Backlund has faced some tough challenges in his time as California champ, but the former Cincinnati Bengal gave him is greatest test yet. Flyin' Brian ferociously fought his way out of any attempt to put him in the Cross Face Chicken Wing and laid into Backlund with blistering chops, along with his trademark high flying moves. Backlund kept his cool, but you could tell he was trying to figure out how to get the best of his young challenger. It wound up coming down to a battle of rollups, and Backlund came out on top with his namesake Backlund Bridge. After the match , Backlund held out his hand to Pillman. Pillman was wary before cautiously offering his own hand, but Backlund was offering a sincere show of respect and shook his hand before leaving the ring.
  2. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, May 21st Art Barr vs. Sabu A ferocious battle between two young light heavyweights that ended when Barr hit the Frog Splash for the win Steven Regal vs. Eddie Guerrero Regal has been increasingly frayed with the current losing streak of British Steel and was looking to take his frustrations out on his opponent. But Eddie Guerrero is nobody's punching bag and threw down just as hard against the young Englishman. The result was a fierce and chaotic battle that wound up being declared a no contest by the ref when the two would not stop brawling. Ron Garvin vs. Buddy Rose The Playboy was just barely able to duck the Hands Of Stone Punch, and countered with a roll up assisted by a fistful of trunks to score the pinfall Ron Simmons & Dingo Warrior vs. Chavo & Mando Guerrero A classic duel of power vs skill, the Guerreros running Simmons and Dingo ragged but the two powerhouses making every shot they landed count with devastating effect. Simmons was finally able to catch Chavo in the Spinebuster Slam, getting an incredibly hard fought win Curt Hennig vs. Nick Bockwinkel This would be the second go round for these two, with Hennig drawing a line in the sand and doing everything he could to keep Bockwinkel for getting a shot against his good friend Barry Windham. Bockwinkel threw everything he had at Hennig, but the young Minnesotan refused to go down. The match took a turn when Hennig went for the Ax Lariat, only for Bock to duck and Hennig hit the ref instead. With the ref down, Bockwinkel made the desperation move of tossing Hennig out of the ring. That's when things got truly strange. As Hennig started to get to his feet, Gary Young of all people snuck down to ringside and ambushed him, driving him head first into the ringsteps then hitting a brutal DDT onto the concrete. He then threw the unconscious Hennig into the ring and ran back to the locker room. For the first time since his arrival in PCW, Bockwinkel seemed caught off guard, but ultimately decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth. He rolled up Hennig in a double leg cradle and the ref came to his senses and made the three count. Regardless of how it came about, Bockwinkel was going to face Barry Windham at Seattle Showdown for the Pacific Heavyweight Title. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) Another epic battle between these two teams that went to the champs when they hit the Double Goozle on Steamboat. Pacific Heavyweight Title Chain Match : Barry Windham © vs. One Man Gang A brutal, bloody battle with both men getting busted open. After taking an hellacious pounding, Windham wrapped the chain around Gang's head and hit a running bulldog headlock to finally put the big man down. Windham had defended his title, but at what cost?
  3. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, May 20th Billy Jack Haynes vs. Chris Candido Ever since his return to PCW with Sunshine by his side, Billy Jack Haynes has been a force to be reckoned with. But he still bears a grudge from losing his return match with Jack Victory. Any time he has had him in his sights, the big New Jersey native has slipped out of his grasp. Even when he has gotten wins, it has usually been over Victory's partner John Tatum. Billy Jack was looking to take out his frustrations on the first member of the Knights Templar to step in the ring with him, and it was Chris Candido who drew the short straw. The former Light Heavyweight Champ tried his best, but Billy Jack just plain overwhelmed him, pinning him after a shoulder breaker. If I were Jack Victory, I would be actively concerned. Cactus Jack & Art Barr vs. John Tatum & Jack Victory Speaking of Victory and Tatum, they certainly had a struggle on their hands with the young wild things of the Army, Cactus and Barr. In spite of the efforts of the other members of the Army to put some space between the two, they kept teaming together and encouraging each other's reckless sides. Both teams fought like wildcats, with Cactus knocking Tatum out of the ring with the Cactus Clothesline. This left Barr in the ring with Victory, and they had a crazed showdown until the Victory-Plex gave the match to the Knights Templar. In spite of the loss, Cactus had a maniacal grin on his face as he helped his partner from the ring, and even in his dazed condition, Barr had a similar grin that would give chills. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are always figures of controversy in Pacific Coast Wrestling … Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express! The crowd explodes in boos, which only provokes laughter in Cornette and the Midnights as they head to the ring. Big Bubba Rogers doesn't so much as crack a smile as he follows them out. Bonnema : Well, Jim Cornette, you certainly seem to be in an especially jovial mood. Cornette : Let me tell you, Freewheelin' Frank, I have plenty of reasons to have a smile on my face. It's clear sailing for my men. The Midnight Express are Pacific Tag Team champs, my main man Big Bubba is the TV champ, and no one is even close to taking that away from us! We are the uncontested kings of the hill! Bonnema : But you have to be at least somewhat concerned about Seattle Showdown coming up in a week. The Midnight Express will have to defend against Black Gold, and Big Bubba Rogers will have to put his title on the line against Tony St. Clair. Cornette : I don't see any cause for concern at all. We have beaten Fool's Gold with ease and Seattle Showdown will be no different. And Tony St. Clair has had his chance at Big Bubba and has proved that he just can't get the job done. Bonnema : But what about the fact that the TV title will be held inside a steel cage? At this news, Cornette explodes, and for the first time , Big Bubba has a look of consternation on his face. Cornette : WHAT? WHAT? That's not fair! This is an outrage! I am going to get my mother's lawyers right now and put a stop to this … this … this fiasco! Come along, men! And with that, Cornette and his men storm out of the ring. Leo Burke & US Steel vs. The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) These two teams have faced off before, in both tag action and singles matches, and there has been a growing sense of bad blood between the Army and Ronnie P. Gossett's team. This led to a battle between four bruisers that came close to completely breaking down on a number of occasions before Ed hit the Bull Hammer (running forearm smash to the face) on Burke. A hard fought victory, but one that left its mark on the competitors. Robbie Brookside vs. Lord Humongous Hoo , boy. Lord Humongous was in no mood to trifle as he stormed the ring and levelled Brookside with a clothesline. He then battered him with hockey mask headbutts before planting him to the mat with a chokeslam. Even then , he wasn't finished, hauling brookside to his feet and then executing a Power Bomb to get the pinfall. Not satisfied with that, he landed several running legdrops on the unconscious Brookside until the ref threatened him with suspension. A tough break for Brookside, but I think that Konnan will be a much tougher nut for Humongous to crack. Barry Windham & Curt Hennig vs. Bob Backlund & Gary Young Backlund has had some epic matches with Windham of late, but for some reason in this match he and his top lieutenant focused most of their attention on Hennig. They relentlessly worked over Curt and did all they could to keep him from tagging in Windham. Young was very close to hitting the DDT on Hennig, but Hennig blocked it, then countered with the Cradle Suplex for the pinfall. Young was quite upset after the match, but Backlund was seen whispering in his ear as they returned to the locker room.
  4. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, May 15th Cactus Jack vs. John Tatum Cactus was all over Tatum and nearly pulled out the win until he recklessly ran right into a Superkick that gave the match to Tatum Submission Title Match : Dan Severn © vs. Mando Guerrero Severn was in no mood to mess around, flattening Mando with a series of jarring suplexes before trapping him in a Boston Crab to force the submission. I'd hate to be Bob Backlund when Severn finally catches up to him. Ron Simmons & Dingo Warrior vs. Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi Dingo clotheslined Hito into a belly to back suplex by Simmons for the win Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) The Midnight Express won by DQ when Regal grabbed Jim Cornette's racquet and started whalloping Bobby Eaton with it. Brookside tried to pull him off, and the two started an argument that broke down into shoving until Tony St. Clair and Black Tiger ran out and separated the two. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Black Tiger © vs. Brian Pillman Another exciting match between the two that ended when Tiger pinned Pillman after a Victory Roll Pacific Television Title Match : Big Bubba Rogers © vs. Tony St. Clair St. Clair won by countout when he ran off the ring apron and hit a running forearm on Rogers on the floor. Big Bubba remained TV Champ.
  5. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards, May 14th Billy Jack Haynes & Texas Red vs. The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) This match between four big broncos had plenty of hard hitting, smash mouth action. Red pulled out the win with the Tombstone Piledriver on Rick Gantner. Art Barr vs. Jack Victory Victory pinned Barr with the Victory-Plex Tabarnak De Team (Big Jos Leduc & Pierre Carl Ouellet) vs. Hector & Eddie Guerrero Eddie went for a Frog Splash on Ouellet , but Ouellet rolled out of the way and Eddie went crashing into the mat. Leduc came into the ring and hit an Elbow Drop on Eddie to get the pinfall. John Tenta, Fit Finlay & Ron Garvin vs. Buddy Rose, Ed Wiskowski & Cannonball Grizzly Finlay gave a vicious low blow kick on Rose right in front of the ref, leading to a DQ decision. California Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Owen Hart Owen finally got a rematch and came very close on a number of occasions to pinning the champ, but Backlund was finally able to put his shoulders to the mat with the Backlund Bridge Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. One Man Gang This was a long, bloody brawl with both men getting busted open. The match went for a long time and ended in DQ when Gang hit Windham with his chain.
  6. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, May 13th Cactus Jack vs. Gary Young Gary Young's first run in PCW was fairly undistinguished, but ever since his return as Mr. Bob Backlund's right hand man in the Knights Templar, he has become a force to be reckoned with. While Brian Pillman has been gunning hard for a second shot at him, tonight Young would face one of the wild things of the Army, Cactus Jack. Backlund was in Young's corner providing his usual brand of solemn moral support. For the first time in a long while, Young seemed uncertain of himself, faced with the reckless and unconventional man from Truth Or Consequences. Cactus got a number of near falls on Young that got gasps from the crowd. Young was able to stay the course and keep his calm, luring Cactus into a DDT that got the three count. A hard fought victory, but one that left its mark on Young, who came away with a black eye and was bleeding from the mouth from Cactus' furious offense. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) & Art Barr vs. Chavo, Hector & Eddie Guerrero Speaking of Cactus Jack, it seems like his comrades in the Army are doing everything they can to keep him apart from Art Barr. Even Cactus' old friend Shane Douglas seems to be at a loss to try to keep Cactus and Barr from going off the page in every match where they team together. Even without Cactus in the match, Blackman and Douglas were having difficulty wrangling their junior partner. It certainly didn't help that Barr would have his personal nemesis , Eddie Guerrero, facing him across the ring. Chavo and Hector also seemed to be at their wits end trying to keep Eddie under control. Eddie kept charging into the match , heedless of the wishes of his older brothers, and wound up charging right into a bicycle kick from Blackman that gave the match to the Army. As per usual, Barr and Eddie had to be held back by their older partners from going after each other post match. These kids today, huh? John Tenta vs. Mr. Hito In his short time in PCW, big John Tenta has been a dominant force up and down the coast. Even though Tenta towered over him, Mr. Hito was not intimidated by the former Sumo wrestler. The Japanese veteran was able to dodge Tenta's attempt to grapple with him, all the while lacing into Tenta's legs with brutal kicks. Hito was able to stagger Tenta, and it looked like his tactics were paying off. But then Tenta managed the seemingly impossible feat of hitting a standing dropkick on Hito that sent him to the mat. He followed up with an elbow drop, then after a couple of side belly to belly suplexes, he hit the Big Quake for the win. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Badd Company © vs. British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) The decline in the fortunes of British Steel have had a deleterious (TM Mr. Bob Backlund) effect on the mental health of Regal and Brookside. Regal in particular has been uncharacteristically aggressive of late, and this showed in this match. He even ended up wrestling much of the match on his own, in spite of Brookside imploring him to tag out. This came to a head when Pat Tanaka ducked under an attempted running forearm by Regal, and Regal hit the ref by mistake. The ref immediately called for the DQ, further infuriating Regal. Regal wanted to keep after Badd Company, but Diamond and Tanaka wisely retreated with Gary Hart to the locker room. Brookside was still trying to calm him down as they left the ring. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest is on a campaign to take the Pacific Heavyweight Title … Nick Bockwinkel. The crowd booed loudly as Bockwinkel made his entrance, mixed with some cheers from his die hard fans. Bock's trademark smirk and strut seem a bit more restrained as he joins Bonnema in the ring. Bonnema : Nick Bockwinkel, your path to a title shot has hit something of a roadblock in your inability to get past Curt Hennig. Bockwinkel : A temporary setback, nothing more. I faced off with his father, Larry Hennig, more than once, and it is no surprise that young Curt is of a similar caliber. He is certainly a tough nut to crack, but he will crack. By Seattle Showdown, I will have earned my shot at Barry Windham. Bonnema : Speaking of Barry Windham, you recently interfered in one of his matches, but you actually cost Mr. Bob Backlund his chances of winning Barry Windham's title. Care to explain? As if on cue, any answer Bockwinkel might have given is cut off by a commotion at the back. Mr. Bob Backlund and the rest of the Knights Templar walk out to the ring. They all have the same stern expressions on their faces, except for John Tatum and Jack Victory at the back of the line, who seem to be making jokes to each other and cracking up, earning dirty looks from the rest of the Knights. Backlund : Frank Bonnema has raised a very good question, *Mister* Bockwinkel. You chose to interfere in my business, and by extension, in the business of the Knights Templar. This is not something we take lightly. So I am going to give you a chance to explain … and I strongly recommend that you choose your words quite carefully. Bockwinkel : Bob … Mr. Backlund. I'll get straight to the point. Don't you have enough on your plate as it is? You already have the California Title to defend. You have Dan Severn after your head. And you seem to have your own house to keep in order. (Bockwinkel gives John Tatum a significant look. Tatum pouts in reply.) But you are an intelligent man, and I wouldn't dream of insulting your intelligence. The reason I interfered is simple. I want the Heavyweight Title for myself, and if you win it, it will be that much more difficult for me to get another shot. I've put a lot of work and planning in getting that shot, and I am not about to let it slip away just so you can add another trophy to your case. So I took matters into my own hands. So, what do you intend to do about it? Backlund : Bockwinkel … your candor is, I must say , refreshing. I thought for a second you might try to imply you were doing some sort of favor. The fact is, Bockwinkel, that your reputation precedes you. You have a wealth of experience and skill. You have your prestige. You have considerable credentials. But you are alone. If I want to make it so, the Knights Templar could make your life very difficult. (Bockwinkel frowns and balls up his fists, ready for anything.) But I don't want to. You raise some good points. I do have more than a few plates spinning right now. So I will do you a favor. Just this once, I will let this slide … only once. There will be no retaliation. Go get your title shot with the blessings of the Knights Templar. But in exchange, I expect you to do me a favor. Should you be successful in your quest for the Pacific Heavyweight Title … you will then give me a shot at your title. Just you and me for the belt. Do we have a deal? Bockwinkel pauses, then replies. Bockwinkel : Mr. Bockwinkel … we have a deal! The two men shake hands, and the world just got a little darker. Curt Hennig, Konnan & Ron Simmons vs. Maxx Payne, Lord Humongous & Sabu It seems like the Brigade and the Crazy Gang have been at war forever, but Konnan and Lord Humongous have been taking it to a whole new dimension. Humongous is relentless in going after Konnan, tearing at his mask and bruising him with hockey mask assisted headbutts. Konnan fought back furiously , managing to take the huge Humongous down with a big clothesline. Konnan's fellow Brigade members were able to take the match when Simmons pinned Sabu with a Spinebuster Slam, but the two masked men kept at it long after the end of the match. Something needs to be done to settle things between these two once and for all.
  7. There is a typo in the name of Joe Malenko.
  8. Quick note that WCPW dropping Lanny Poffo for Kabuki is not currently reflected on the rosters.
  9. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, May 8th Shane Douglas vs. Ed Gantner The big Bull hit the Bull Hammer (running forearm smash to the face) to defeat Douglas Tony St. Clair vs. Rick Gantner "Tough" Tony hit the spinning forearm smash for the win Steve Blackman vs. Cannonball Grizzly Blackman put up a fight but went down to the Cannonball Crush (top rope splash) Ron Simmons, Konnan & Dingo Warrior vs. Maxx Payne, Lord Humongous & "Mean" Mike Miller A hard hitting battle where Humongous wound up ambushing Konnan with a hockey mask assisted headbutt to the back of the head, allowing Miller to execute an over the shoulder neckbreaker to give the win to the Crazy Gang Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Black Tiger © vs. Masanobu Fuchi A tense technical battle that ended up going to a 20 minute time limit draw Texas Red vs. John Tatum Billy Jack Haynes and Sunshine were in Red's corner for this match. Tatum had Jack Victory in his corner supporting him, but Knights Templar leader Mr. Bob Backlund was conspicuous by his absence . Coming off his challenge for the Pacific Heavyweight Title, Tatum gave Red a considerable battle, but the big Texan was finally able to pin him after a chokeslam. The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) & US Steel vs. The Midnight Express & Big Bubba Rogers After a fiercely competitive match, Steamboat had Lane in a Schoolboy Rollup, but Eaton came in and hit a kneedrop on Steamboat, then reversed the pin to give the win to the Midnight Express and Big Bubba
  10. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, May 7th Leo Burke vs. Curtis Hughes This was a knock down, drag out scrap that left both men bloody where the Big Cat was just able to put down Burke with the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee) Billy Jack Haynes vs. Mr. Hito Billy Jack withstood an initial onslaught from Hito to come back and overpower the Japanese veteran with the shoulder breaker Brian Pillman vs. Sabu An exciting match between two high flying daredevils where Pillman ultimately prevailed by hitting the Air Pillman Fit Finlay & Ron Garvin vs. Buddy Rose & Ed Wiskowski Rose hit a low blow on Garvin from behind, setting him up for a face first piledriver from Wiskowski to give the win to the Playboy Club Curt Hennig vs. Nick Bockwinkel Hennig was determined to avenge the earlier losses by his Brigade brothers and went all out against Bockwinkel. After a long battle, the action spilled to the outside of the ring, leading to a double countout result. Golden State Tag Team Titles : Badd Company © vs. Cactus Jack & Art Barr Another ferocious challenge by the wild things of the Army that ended when Tanaka was able to hit a cartwheel kick to the top of the head on Barr 2/3 Falls Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Bob Backlund First Fall : Backlund pinned Windham with the Backlund Bridge Second Fall : During the second fall, Nick Bockwinkel came out to ringside to observe the match. Windham was able to reverse a small package by Backlund to even up the falls Third Fall : While Windham was standing on the ring apron, Backlund attempted to vertical suplex him back into the ring. When he did so, Bockwinkel reached in and tripped Backlund, causing Windham to land on top of him. Bockwinkel then held down Backlund's leg, allowing Windham to get the decisive pinfall. After the match, Backlund was livid, but Bockwinkel was long gone. Final Result : Barry Windham won 2 falls to 1, successfully defending his Pacific Heavyweight Title
  11. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, May 6th Bret & Owen Hart vs. Hector & Eddie Guerrero With Jim Neidhart for the moment on the shelf, Bret Hart has formed a temporary team with his younger brother Owen that has gotten a lot of attention. They came in and faced another pair of brothers , with Hector Guerrero continuing to mentor his youngest brother Eddie. The two teams had a thrill packed match that had the fans going the whole time. As the match went on, Eddie seemed to be taking more time in the ring and more risks, in spite of his older brother calling him to tag out. This wound up costing him, as he ran straight into a boot to the midsection by Owen that was followed by a gutwrench suplex that gave the win to the Harts. Eddie was quite upset by the result, and while Hector tried to give him words of support and advice after the match, it was clear that Eddie was not listening. Art Barr vs. Masanobu Fuchi Another junior member of a team who has become something of a loose cannon, Art Barr has been very adamant about walking his own path, even as a member of the Six Man Army. Cactus Jack has certainly played a part in egging him on, but there have been traces of his headstrong attitude even when away from the man from Truth Or Consequences. Army leader Leo Burke was at ringside for this match, and unlike Eddie Guerrero , he seemed to be listening to Burke's advice as he squared off with the seasoned Japanese pro Fuchi. This was a very tight technical battle , with the rookie giving a good accounting of himself against Fuchi, but the finely honed instincts of Gary Hart's man proved to be the deciding factor as he lured Barr into a bridging backdrop that gave the match to him. Unlike Eddie Guerrero, Barr was completely stone faced as he left the ring, but still didn't seem to be paying much heed to the words of Burke as he headed towards the back. Curt Hennig vs. Mando Guerrero With Seattle Showdown less than a month away, Curt Hennig finds himself as the last line of defense between Nick Bockwinkel and a challenge to his Brigade brother Barry Windham's Pacific Heavyweight Title. Before his match tomorrow with Bockwinkel, Hennig would have to face a fellow second generation star in Mando Guerrero. Mando was definitely not going to be overlooked, and gave a ferocious match to Hennig before finally going down to the Cradle Suplex. Hennig was able to prevail, but you just know that he has got to be wondering what he can do to put the brakes on Bockwinkel. British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) One ongoing story that has saddened the fans has been the ongoing fracturing of British Steel. Regal and Brookside not only have been losing matches, but have seemed to be unable to get on the same page at all. That continued in this match, with Regal increasingly looking to cheap shots and short cuts while Brookside tried to keep him on the straight and narrow. Things came to a head when Regal held Snow up for a clothesline from Brookside, only for Snow to pull out of the way as Brookside hit Regal. As Candido rushed in to tie up Brookside, Snow executed the wheelbarrow suplex on Regal and British Steel had suffered another loss. After the match, Regal and Brookside started to argue, which broke down into a shoving match. Tony St. Clair and Black Tiger ran out and separated their young allies, but things are clearly coming to a head between these two young British stars. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. John Tatum Barry Windham is in for a tough week, not only having to have a 2/3 falls rematch with Bob Backlund tomorrow but tonight dealing with a challenge from one of Backlund's Knights Templar. Last week, Tatum's interference cost Backlund his previous shot at the belt. Both Backlund and Jack Victory were at ringside, with Victory loudly cheering on his friend, but Backlund, still displeased with Tatum, kept a stern look on his face at all times. There were times when it looked like Victory might try to put his hand in to help out Tatum, but a firm hand on his shoulder from Backlund was enough to keep him in place. This was something of a coming out party for Tatum, who gave the fight of his life to try to take the title, and Windham had to dig deep to withstand the attack. Tatum whipped Windham into the ropes to try to hit the Superkick, but Windham caught himself on the ropes to stop the momentum. Windham then came roaring out the blocks and levelled Tatum with a lariat. Windham got the three count to put an end to Tatum's challenge. Victory was very supportive of his friend as they headed to the back, but unlike most people this evening, Backlund just had his usual sourpatch expression as he led the Knights away.
  12. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, May 1st Tony St. Clair vs. Ed Wiskowski This was a grim and gritty battle between two hardened veterans that ended when "Tough" Tony hit the spinning forearm smash on Easy Ed for the win Owen Hart vs. Sabu Owen continued his return in an exciting match where he pinned the wild man of the Crazy Gang with a Northern Lights Suplex Curt Hennig & Ron Simmons vs. One Man Gang & Nick Bockwinkel Bockwinkel seemed content to let OMG do much of the heavy lifting, but chose his spots to do as much damage to Hennig as possible. Gang ended up getting the pin when he crushed Hennig in the corner with an Avalanche. Gang and Bockwinkel looked like they were set to try to continue the attack on Hennig, but Simmons stood in front of his fallen partner and gave them a menacing look and they thought better of it. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Black Tiger © vs. Art Barr Away from the influence of his friend Cactus Jack, Barr was a lot better behaved in this match. He and Black Tiger had a tightly contested technical match where it looked Barr just might take the title with a Victory Roll, but Tiger blocked it mid way through to retain. Both men shook hands after the match. Texas Red vs. Bob Orton Red came in bearing a grudge, as Orton had beaten him for the Television Title towards the end of his first PCW run. Orton was certainly no pushover, and the two had a battle for the ages, but Red came out on top after a Tombstone Piledriver. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) The Midnight Express were running scared through much of this match, and wound up going to desperate measures when Jim Cornette knocked Vic Steamboat off the top turnbuckle with his tennis racquet . The ref gave the match to the Rainbow Warriors by DQ, but the Midnights retained the titles.
  13. Wow, that headline looks like it will be war ... all Americans Duggan and Race against Khan and Kabuki is guaranteed mayhem!
  14. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , April 30th John Tenta vs. "Mean" Mike Miller Tenta won with the Big Quake Ron Garvin vs. Ed Gantner Garvin laid in plenty of heavy shots on Gantner, but the big Bull was able to hit the Bull Hammer (running forearm smash to the face) and get the win Cactus Jack vs. Maxx Payne As could be imagined, a crazy match that ended with Payne pinning Cactus following a belly to belly suplex Leo Burke & Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) vs. Chavo, Hector & Eddie Guerrero Leo Burke seemed to be relieved to not be trying to corral Art Barr and Cactus Jack and was instead teaming with his two good kids. This was a fast paced six man match that went to the army when Douglas pinned Eddie with a Sunset Flip Tabarnak De Team (Big Jos Leduc & Pierre Carl Ouellet) & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Badd Company, Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi As harmonious as things were tonight with the Army, things remained fragmented among British Steel. Suffering under the weight of a losing streak, Regal and Brookside could not get in synch with each other, and in spite of the best efforts of Leduc and Ouellet, Brookside was pinned by Masanobu Fuchi following a bridging back drop. Regal and Brookside could be seen arguing as they headed to the back of arena Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Bob Backlund After a draining one hour draw two weeks ago with Bob Backlund, followed by Backlund pinning him in a tag team match, Barry Windham was feeling the pressure from Mr. Backlund's challenge. Nonetheless, he was determined to maintain his hold on the title, and dug in to face anything Backlund could throw at him. The result was a gripping match, with Windham working hard to escape the traps that Backlund set for him. It looked like he would prevail when he had Backlund set up for the Bulldog Headlock. But Backlund had it spotted and had grabbed the ropes to block it. However, that never came into play as John Tatum rushed into the ring and Superkicked Windham. The ref spotted this flagrant interference and called for the bell to give the win to Windham by DQ. Backlund was furious with Tatum and dragged him by his ear as he scolded him all the way to the locker room.
  15. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, April 29th Vic Steamboat vs. Bobby Eaton After running roughshod over the PCW tag team ranks, the Midnight Express find themselves having to face not just one challenger but two. With Black Gold driving hard for a title shot, the Midnights have also had had the Rainbow Warriors come back to challenge them. After getting a victory over them in a six man tag last week, one half of each team square off tonight in a singles match. Steamboat and Eaton went all out, struggling to achieve supremacy, until Eaton went for a swinging neckbreaker. Steamboat blocked it and countered with a backslide that just barely kept Eaton's shoulders to the mat for the three count. The Rainbow Warriors had gotten another victory and Jim Cornette looked like he was about to have a stroke. Konnan vs. Bob Orton Konnan has pledged to rid Pacific Coast Wrestling of Lord Humongous, a pledge that has not sat well with the rest of the Crazy Gang. "Cowboy" Bob Orton presented a considerable roadblock on his campaign , using his considerable skill to inflict as much damage as he could to the masked man. Konnan proved to be quite resilient , and was able to get Orton in the Tequila Sunrise. It was then that the Crazy Gang sprung their trap. While Percy Pringle distracted the referee, Lord Humongous snuck into the ring and clobbered Konnan from behind. When the ref turned around, Lord Humongous had bailed out of the ring and Orton was covering Konnan. The ref made the count and Orton had stolen the win over Konnan. Orton and Humongous proceeded to put the boots to Konnan until the rest of the Brigade rushed out to save him. If the Crazy Gang think this is the end of it, they need to think again, as Konnan is not about to take this lying down. Pacific Submission Championship Match : Dan Severn © vs. Mando Guerrero Severn came into this match enraged at what had happened last week to his friend and partner Jeff Jarrett at the hands of Mr. Bob Backlund. Mando Guerrero is a skilled veteran and definitely no pushover, but he wasn't prepared for what came next. Severn stormed the ring and destroyed Mando with a series of suplexes. He then swiftly applied the bodyscissors sleeper, and while Mando was unable to tap out due to being unconscious, the ref declared and end to the match. A convincing victory, but you can tell the Severn won't be satisfied until he is forcing Backlund to tap out. US Steel, Cactus Jack & Art Barr vs. Curtis Hughes & The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) With Leo Burke at his wits end trying to get Cactus Jack and Art Barr to try to behave, it looks like US Steel drew the short straw to try to maintain some semblance of order on the wayward sons of the Army. Not helped by his burgeoning issue with the Wild Bulls, who have been increasingly targeting the amiable hard hat. This all made for a chaotic match, with the ref run ragged trying to keep some sort of control over the match. Ed Gantner was able to catch Art Barr coming off the ropes to get the winning pinfall, but Barr and Cactus still wanted to keep going after the end of the match, until Steel grabbed them both and led them back to the locker room. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest has been the centre of controversy ever since his arrival in Pacific Coast Wrestling … Nick Bockwinkel. The crowd gives a blend of boos and cheers as the always confident Bockwinkel suavely strides to the ring. Bonnema : Nick Bockwinkel, you certainly seem satisfied with yourself today. Bockwinkel : As usual, Frank Bonnema, my satisfaction is well deserved. I laid out my plan and it is all coming together. I promised that I would beat all of the members of the Brigade on the way to the Pacific Heavyweight Title. I have beaten Konnan and Ron Simmons. All I have to do is beat Curt Hennig, and then Barry Windham and his title will be all mine. Bonnema : But they are hardly victories to be proud of. Konnan was already injured by Lord Humongous. Bockwinkel : Well, that's hardly my fault, is it? If he wasn't fit to compete, he shouldn't have shown up for the match. If someone is going to make themselves vulnerable in a match, any intelligent wrestler is going to take advantage of it. That is pure common sense. Bonnema : Well, then you cheated to beat Ron Simmons! Bockwinkel : You say cheated, I say outsmarted. A subtle but important semantic distinction. Ron Simmons is a fine athlete, certainly with a world of potential. But I am potential realized. He tried to take me to my limits, but in the end, I was the one putting his shoulders to the mat. Bonnema : Even with these wins under your belt, you are certainly not the only contender for the title. One Man Gang certainly has a claim, and Bob Backlund has a pinfall victory over Barry Windham that would certainly establish him as a front runner. Bockwinkel's grin tightens and he gives a hard look to Frank Bonnema Bockwinkel : Mr. Backlund is a worthy gentleman with a career to his credit. But he is merely a secondary champion. Make no mistake about it. I am the genuine article and it is only a matter of time before that Pacific Heavyweight Title belt is around my trim and toned waist. Bret Hart, Owen Hart & Brian Pillman vs. Gary Young & The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) With Jim Neidhart temporarily out of commission with a shoulder injury, Bret Hart has spent his time teaming with his younger brother Owen. This six man team along with Owen's regular partner Brian Pillman was viewed as something of a dream team among the fans, and they certainly delivered. Facing an incredibly tough trio from the Knights Templar, the fan favorites worked together well and the result was a thrilling match that had the crowd hyped for the entire duration. The Knights were certainly not about to give an inch and there were many near falls on the way to the finish. While Pillman had many heated exchanges with his rival Gary Young, he was able to get the victory by hitting the Air Pillman on Al Snow. A big win closing out a great evening of wrestling.
  16. Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, April 24th Fit Finlay vs. Cannonball Grizzly This was a battle of the size and power of Grizzly and the toughness and ferocity of Finlay. While Grizzly inflicted a lot of punishment on Finlay, the Belfast Bruiser was able to wear him down enough to hit a running kneedrop for the win Leo Burke vs. Sabu The Wild Man from Bombay hit a flying legdrop on the General of the Army, giving Sabu possibly his biggest victory yet US Steel vs. Rick Gantner Bouncing back from his loss last week to Big Bubba Rogers, US Steel pulled off the impressive power move of hitting the Steel Driver (front slam) on big Rick Gantner for the win Owen & Bret Hart vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero With Jim Neidhart taking a bit of time to tend to his injured shoulder, Bret teamed with his younger brother Owen to take on the Guerrero Brothers. The result was a tag team classic where both sets of brothers thrilled the fans and went to a 30 minute time limit draw. Both teams shook hands in respect after the match, getting an ovation from the fans. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Badd Company © vs. Cactus Jack & Art Barr The unconventional duo from the Army gave a considerable challenge to the Golden State champs, getting many near falls before Diamond was finally able to catch Barr in a Sunset Flip to pull out the win. Cactus and Barr might not have taken the titles, but they had certainly gotten a lot of respect for their efforts. Texas Red & The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) vs. Big Bubba Rogers & The Midnight Express In a particularly hard fought battle, Texas Red was able to hold off Big Bubba to allow Adams to hit the spinning backbreaker on Eaton and get a big win for Texas and the Rainbow Warriors
  17. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, April 23rd Vic Steamboat vs. Curtis Hughes In spite of a game effort from Steamboat , Hughes pinned him after the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee) Brian Pillman vs. Bob Orton In a highly competitive battle, Pillman beat the Ace of the Crazy Gang with the Air Pillman. Tony St. Clair & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Jack Victory & The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) St. Clair did his best to get his young colleagues on the same page, but British Steel just couldn't seem to get it together, leading to Victory pinning Regal following the Victory-Plex Ron Garvin vs. Buddy Rose Rose pulled out a set of brass knucks and tried to slug Garvin, but Garvin ducked the punch and pulled Rose into an inside cradle for the pinfall Ron Simmons vs. Nick Bockwinkel Bockwinkel was all silky confidence as he came to the ring, but the look that Simmons gave him before the match showed he was not at all intimidated by the former World champion. Bockwinkel had scored his first win in his campaign to beat all of the members of the Brigade, working his way up to Pacific Heavyweight Champ Barry Windham, by taking advantage of Konnan who had been badly hurt in a previous match. Ron Simmons would prove to be a much tougher nut to crack. Bockwinkel tried to use his considerable skills to lure Simmons into wearing himself out. But Simmons was not to be fooled that way, keeping close with Bockwinkel and not giving him a chance to recuperate. The match went long, with Bockwinkel doing everything he could to find some sort of weakness in Simmons, and the former All American keeping the pressure on Bockwinkel. In the end, Bockwinkel dug deep into his bag of tricks and ducked under a forearm smash in the corner and catching Simmons in a roll up, putting both of his feet on the ropes for leverage. A dirty win, but a win nonetheless for Bockwinkel. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Black Tiger © vs. Paul Diamond Another exciting Light Heavyweight Title match, where Tiger countered a reverse flying cross body press by Diamond with a rollover to successfully defend his title. Barry Windham & Curt Hennig vs. Bob Backlund & Gary Young Speaking of the champ, Barry Windham has been taking a lot of damage lately, while still maintaining his hold on the title. He went to a full hour last week with California Champion Mr. Bob Backlund, and Backlund and his top lieutenant Gary Young were out for blood this week. Windham and Hennig did their best to hold off the Knights Templar in a long and intense match, but Backlund was able to pin Windham with the Backlund Bridge to pull off a considerable upset.
  18. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, April 22nd Lord Humongous vs. Jim Neidhart Lord Humongous has been enraged ever since taking the pinfall to Konan in a tag match last week. The man in the hockey mask was looking to take out his anger on the first victim to cross his path, and Jim Neidhart was unfortunate enough to end up in his crosshairs. The Anvil has struggled ever since injuring his shoulder in a match with Buddy Rose, but still put up a fight, throwing hard forearms left and right to try to hold off the Ayatollah Of Rock & Rollah. It was all for naught, as Humongous closed in and grabbed Neidhart by the throat, lifting him up and driving him to the mat with a mighty chokeslam. But that was not enough for Humongous , as he grabbed Neidhart and dragged him up from the mat and power bombed him, putting his foot on Anvil's chest as he pinned him. Konnan has best be ready for anything when they square off again. Billy Jack Haynes vs. John Tatum Billy Jack has been gunning for Jack Victory ever since Aloha Spectacular, but tonight he would have to content himself with facing off against his Knights Templar cohort John Tatum. Billy Jack certainly had anger to spare for Tatum, who attacked him at Vegas Vengeance. Tatum had both Jack Victory and Mr. Bob Backlund in his corner, but while Victory loudly cheered on his old friend, Backlund silently fixed him with a stony stare throughout. Tatum threw everything he could at Haynes, but nothing he did seemed to make a dent in the Oregon powerhouse, and when Haynes trapped him in the Full Nelson, Tatum quickly tapped out. Victory helped Tatum to the back, but unlike his treatment of other members of the Knights Templar, Backlund had no advice or comfort for Tatum. Cactus Jack vs. Ed Gantner The Wild Bull didn't seem to really know what to make of the cackling daredevil of the Army, but loomed over him before the match, trying to intimidate him. Cactus was having none of it, laughing right in the face of Gantner. With his red faced manager Ronnie P. Gossett bellowing orders from ringside, Ed unleashed his considerable power offense on Cactus. But Cactus just kept bouncing back, fighting like a wildcat every chance he got. Gantner finally landed the Bull Hammer (running forearm smash to the face), putting Cactus down for good. After the pinfall, Gossett looked like he wanted to come in and put the boots to the felled Cactus, but Gantner motioned him back by putting his hand on his chest, then helped Cactus to his feet and shook his hand. If nothing else, it looks like Cactus has gained the respect of the Wild Bull. Steve Blackman vs. Stan Lane With Black Gold hot on the heels of the Pacific Tag Team Titles, Blackman is squaring off against one half of the Midnight Express. This wound up becoming a martial arts duel between the Ultimate Weapon and the man with Educated Feet. Both men battled with takedowns and precision kicks, and the fans were at the edge of their seats throughout. It looked like Lane had it all wrapped up when he had Blackman lined up for a savate kick. But Blackman caught his kick and countered with a legsweep, then swiftly applied a Half Crab submission. With his manager Jim Cornette reduced to gibbering apoplexy at ringside, Lane struggled to escape, but ultimately tapped out. Blackman immediately released the hold, standing triumphant in the ring. This was an important victory, and you know that Black Gold will come at the Midnight Express with even more determination now. California Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Jeff Jarrett Jeff Jarrett has been a raspberry seed in the collective gumline of the Knights Templar, causing them no end of frustration. Lately, Mr. Bob Backlund has gotten directly involved, being driven to put his California Title on the line against the second generation superstar. Backlund had all of the members of the Knights at ringside to observe his title defense. Once the match got underway, Jeff continued to frustrate Backlund, connecting with rapid fire dropkicks but stymying any attempt by Backlund to grapple with him. Backlund was still able to get some jarring throws and slams in on Jarrett, but the challenger kept scrambling out of the way to keep out of range of any submission holds. Jarrett ended up getting a bit overconfident after he leapfrogged Backlund, failing to follow up and leaving Backlund the opening to hit a devastating atomic drop. Backlund quickly followed up with a belly to back suplex and then grabbed his arm and wrenched hard on it. He put Jarrett through an excruciating series of armbars before trapping him in the Cross Face Chicken Wing. Jarrett held out for as long as he could, but ultimately had to give up the match. However, that was not enough for Backlund, who refused to release the hold, trying to inflict as much damage as he could after the match. Dan Severn ran out to try to save his partner , but the rest of the Knights Templar blocked his way. Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red and Black Gold rushed out to assist him, breaking through the ranks of the Knights to allow Severn to get through and pull Backlund off Jarrett. Jarrett was in an incredible amount of pain as Severn helped him to the back, and Backlund and his men were gloating in the ring as the show ended.
  19. I am utterly loving the Nick Busick TV Title run! Nobody gets up from the Spinebuster Slam.
  20. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, April 17th Art Barr vs. Sabu Following up from their earlier six man tag match, two of the wildest wrestlers in PCW faced off in a fast paced match that ended when Barr dodged a spinning back heel kick from Sabu, then hit the Frog Splash for the victory British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) British Steel's ill fortune continued as Brookside went down to a piledriver from Candido John Tenta vs. Bob Orton Tenta crushed Orton with the Big Quake Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. Jack Victory & John Tatum Mr. Bob Backlund ambushed Jarrett from behind, setting him up for a Victory-Plex by Jack Victory that gave the win to the Knights Templar Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) vs. Chavo & Hector Guerrero Douglas pinned Chavo following a belly to belly suplex Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. One Man Gang Ouellet gave Gang quite a battle, but the Big 747 ultimately defeated him with a front layout suplex Curt Hennig & Konnan vs. Maxx Payne & Lord Humongous A ferocious bout that ended when Hennig caught Humongous by surprise with a dropkick into a Schoolboy Trip from Konnan that just barely held his shoulders to the mat for the three count. After the match, a furious Humongous ambushed Konnan and battered him with several brutal hockey mask assisted headbuts before Hennig was able to fight him off. Pacific Television Title Match : Big Bubba Rogers © vs. US Steel A titanic battle between two big men, where nothing Rogers did to US Steel seemed to be able to hold him off for long. Rogers finally was able to hit a splash from the second turnbuckle to put an end to Steel's challenge.
  21. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards, April 16th Ron Simmons & Dingo Warrior vs. Mr. Hito & Masanobu Fuchi Simmons and Warrior overpowered the Japanese duo, hitting a mammoth double running shoulder tackle for the win Billy Jack Haynes, Texas Red & Brian Pillman vs. Jack Victory, John Tatum & Gary Young This was a heated bout that ended when Pillman dodged out of the way of a Superkick from Tatum that hit Young instead. Pillman rolled up Young in a Sunset Flip for the victory. There were heated words between Young and Tatum after the match, but Victory managed to get things calmed down Fit Finlay & Ron Garvin vs. Buddy Rose & Cannonball Grizzly When Garvin had Rose trapped in the corner for a series of punches, Grizzly charged in with an Avalanche that crushed them broth. Rose then fell on top of Garvin and scored the pinfall. Rose was woozy after the finish but still celebrated the win. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Black Tiger © vs. Eddie Guerrero Eddie gave the masked man a hell of a challenge before finally going down to the Black Tiger Driver Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. The Hart Foundation Another classic tag team battle between these two teams that ended when Neidhart had Lane in a bearhug, but Eaton came off the top rope with an elbow smash onto the Anvil's still damaged shoulder to give the match to the Midnight Express Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Bob Backlund Windham was another wrestler coming in with a bandaged shoulder, which certainly presented a tempting target for the California Champion. Backlund went after it every chance he got, looking to set Windham up for the dreaded Crossface Chicken Wing. Barry fought with determination , using his long limbs for punches and kicks to keep Backlund at a distance as much as he could. The Pacific Champ wrestled the smartest match of his reign , keeping within quick reach of the ropes any time Backlund went for a submission hold and taking time out of the ring to recuperate any time he needed to gather his strength. That said, Backlund is a very difficult man to outlast , and whenever Windham got back in the ring, the leader of the Knights Templar was waiting and ready to pounce. Deep in the match, Backlund nearly got the Chicken Wing cinched in, but Windham was able to get his legs on the ropes to break it up. When he got to his feet, Windham was able to hit a lariat with his good arm that knocked Backlund to the mat. It was at that point that the bell rang, signaling a one hour time limit draw. Windham had survived the toughest test of his title reign, but it had clearly taken a lot out of him.
  22. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, April 15th Big Jos Leduc vs. Pat Tanaka TDT have been hot on the trail of Badd Company and their Golden State Tag Team titles. The burly French Canadians have scored some victories in six man matches, but as yet have been unable to wrest the belts from Gary Hart's men. Tanaka certainly didn't look keen to lock up with Big Jos Leduc, but still did what he could to wear down the powerful Quebecois. He did score some effective kicks and shots, but got in too close , and Leduc grabbed him and proceeded to toss him like a ragdoll. When he locked him into a crushing bearhug, Tanaka swiftly gave up the match. Another impressive victory, but Tabarnak De Team are hungering for that big title victory. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests have been dominating both the talk and the action here in PCW … the Knights Templar! The crowd boos as Mr. Bob Backlund, Gary Young, Al Snow, Chris Candido , Jack Victory and John Tatum head out to the ring. They all have stern scowls matching the facial expression of their leader Mr. Bob Backlund, except for John Tatum, who is laughing and cutting up on the way to the ring, getting a smirk out of Jack Victory. Bonnema : John Tatum, I was surprised to see you return to the Pacific Coast, but I was full on shocked to see you join up with the Knights Templar. I would figure to be the last person who would be a part of this, uhhh, movement. What gives? Tatum : Well, Frankie boy, I am just a surprised as you are, but here we are! I had conquered everywhere else in wrestling, but I wanted to come back here and show everyone what they had been missing. My good friend Jack here told me what a great opportunity, uhh, for personal growth it would be to accept the teachings of Mr. Bob here. So hey, I'm game! *cue an annoyed look from Mr. Bob Backlund* Bonnema : Well, I can't argue with the results. The Knights Templar have scored some truly impressive victories. And now I find out that you, Bob Backlund … *evil glare from Backlund* errr, Mr. Bob Backlund, will be challenging Barry Windham tomorrow night for the Pacific Heavyweight Title! Backlund : That's right, Bonnema. I wear this (pointing at the California Title Belt) to serve as an example to the poor and ignorant citizens of the state of California and let them know that there is a better way of life available to them. But I need the biggest possible platform to spread my word. The platform that comes with the Heavyweight Title. The Knights Templar will have all of the titles in PCW! The Submission Title will be ours. Gary here can easily take the Television Title (Young nods). The Bomb Squad will have their pick of the Pacific or Golden State Tag Team Titles. Tatum : *interjecting* And Jacko and I will take whichever set of titles is left! HAW HAW!!!! Backlund : *fixing Tatum with a death stare* You will do what I tell you to do! We will remake the Pacific Coast in my image … our image … the image of the Knights Templar! Masanobu Fuchi vs. Robbie Brookside With the flagging fortunes of British Steel, Robbie Brookside and Steven Regal have been trying their hand at singles match, albeit without much success. Brookside was hoping a victory over the experience Japanese wrestler Fuchi might put him line for a Light Heavyweight Title Match against his compatriot Black Tiger. He gave it his best shot, but the veteran instincts of Fuchi turned out to be too much to overcome. Fuchi executed a crucifix that held Brookside's shoulders to the mat, and that was that. It seems like whether it is in singles or tag matches, British Steel just can't catch a break. Interview : Frank Bonnema stands in the ring Bonnema : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests have been the target of several of the factions in PCW … the Brigade! The crowd cheers as Barry Windham, Curt Hennig, Ron Simmons and Konnan make their way to the ring, but the Brigade seem distracted. Konnan in particular seemed especially agitated. Barry Windham's shoulder is taped up following his match the previous week with Maxx Payne. Bonnema : Barry Windham, Maxx Payne sure did a number on your shoulder last week. You've got to be concerned going into your match tomorrow with Bob, err, Mr. Bob Backlund. Windham : Well, it's certainly something to worry about. But I am not one to back out of a challenge, and Bob Backlund is about to find out that even with a bum shoulder, I am not about to give up my Heavyweight Title. But there's something else we need to talk about. Konnan … clearly something is on your mind. Whatever it is, we're here for you, friend. Care to share? Konnan : Barry , I've been letting you guys down. Everybody else in the Brigade has been successful but me. I lost to Nick Bockwinkel. I lost to Lord Humongous. I can't get it done , and feel like I don't deserve my place in the Brigade. Simmons : Now you just stop that right now. We've all had losses and we've all felt our confidence slip before. (Windham and Hennig both nod in agreement) Last year, I lost to Stan Hansen, and I thought that I would never be able to come back from that. But I pulled myself together and got a rematch, and I beat Hansen. You may have lost your confidence in yourself, but we still have confidence in you. You have unlimited potential, and you are a valued member of the Brigade. Konnan : I appreciate that, Ron, but I still feel I need to prove myself. And I am going to do it. If it's the last thing I do … I am going to rid PCW of Lord Humongous! Leo Burke, Cactus Jack & Art Barr vs. "Mean" Mike Miller, Bob Orton & Sabu Lately, Cactus Jack and Art Barr have been showing increasingly wild behaviour in their matches, and the other members of the Army have been finding it difficult to keep them in line. But in this match, Percy Pringle's prediction that Sabu would bring the crazy to the Crazy Gang looked like it was coming a bit too true for his liking. No matter what orders Pringle gave from ringside, Sabu kept charging into the match, fists flying and looking to mix it up. Miller and Orton found themselves quite frustrated trying to keep their young partner heading in one direction, and Sabu ended up getting counted out while slugging it out with Cactus and Barr at ringside, completely ignoring that Leo Burke was the legal man in the ring. Pringle, Miller and Orton all chastised Sabu as they returned to the locker room. Owen Hart vs. Mando Guerrero We haven't seem much of Owen Hart since he lost the California Title to Mr. Bob Backlund at Vegas Vengeance. He had been tending to his injured shoulder, and while he had healed up in his time away, it still presented a tempting target to Mando Guerrero. Mando spent much of the time trying to get Owen set up for the Gory Special, and Owen did a fair amount of scrambling to avoid Mando's clutches. Owen was able to outlast Mando by catching him in a gutwrench suplex and following up with a Moonsault to get the pinfall. It looks like Owen is back and it is only a matter of time before he reaches the next level of the PCW rankings. Steven Regal vs. Curtis Hughes While both members of British Steel have been having a hard time of late, but Steven Regal has been the most frustrated with their decline. This has shown itself in an increased willingness to push the boundaries of the rules and resort to cheap shots. He was particularly hot headed in his match with Curtis Hughes, refusing to be intimidated in spite of the Big Cat's dominance in his past matches. Regal put in a game effort, but the power and anger of Hughes was tough to overcome. Regal wound up going to the outside, grabbing a chair from ringside and bringing it into the ring, but the ref immediately called for the DQ before he had a chance to use it. Hughes was still daring Regal to come at him, but Ronnie P. Gossett, not wanting to risk his prize prospect being injured, persuaded him to return to the locker room with him. Robbie Brookside came out and did his best to try to calm his partner down, but Regal was still boiling mad as he left the ring.
  23. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, April 7th Texas Red vs. Gary Young Young gave the big Texan a Hell of a fight, but ultimately went down to the Tombstone Piledriver British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. The Bomb Squad ( Chris Candido & Al Snow) British Steel continued their slide when they lost by DQ when Regal slugged the ref while fighting with Snow in the corner Curt Hennig vs. Sabu A crazy match where both men fought like wildcats until Hennig was finally able to put Sabu's shoulders to the mat with a Cradle Suplex Brian Adams vs. "Mean" Mike Miller Miller slipped a foreign object into his elbow pad and hit a loaded forearm smash to steal the win Tony St. Clair vs. Eddie Guerrero In what many called the most exciting match of the night, St. Clair was able to pull out the win with the floating butterfly suplex Golden State Tag Team Title Match : Badd Company © vs. Tabarnak De Team (Big Jos Leduc & Pierre Carl Ouellet) Badd Company just barely got out with their titles when Diamond was able to pull off a reverse cross body press on Ouellet Pacific Television Title Match : Big Bubba Rogers © vs. US Steel This match ended in a draw when both men were counted out while brawling outside the ring
  24. Durp, sorry, have retconned the dates to remove the conflict.
  25. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on ESPN / TSN Pacific Super Cards, April 6th Brian Pillman vs. Mr. Hito The evening kicked off with a taught duel that ended with Pillman scoring the win with the Air Pillman John Tenta vs. Cannonball Grizzly A bruising battle of super heavyweights that Tenta won after hitting the Big Quake The Hart Foundation vs. Hector & Chavo Guerrero Neidhart's shoulder was still giving him a lot of trouble from the night before, and Hector capitalized when he forced him to give up to the Gory Special Fit Finlay, Ron Garvin & Billy Jack Haynes vs. The Wild Bulls (Ed & Rick Gantner) & Curtis Hughes This was a knock down, drag out fight that ended when Garvin knocked out Rick Gantner with the Hands Of Stone Punch Vic Steamboat vs. Bob Orton A tough struggle where Steamboat was ultimately able to get Orton up in a Tiger Suplex for the victory Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Barry Windham © vs. Maxx Payne Windham won by DQ when Payne refused to release the Payne Killer when Windham reached the ropes. Payne didn't give up the hold until the ref threatened him with suspension 2/3 Falls Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Black Gold (Steve Blackman & Shane Douglas) 1st Fall : Lane pinned Douglas after he ran into a Savate Kick to the jaw 2nd Fall : Douglas pinned Eaton with a Belly To Belly Suplex 3rd Fall : Eaton pinned Blackman after the Alabama Jam Final Result : The Midnight Express won
