Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, June 8th Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) vs. Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) Iron & Steel overpowered the former champs when Atlas took Tatum down with a Piledriver. Shane Douglas vs. Eddie Guerrero Douglas was able to hit the Belly To Belly suplex to beat Guerrero The Eagle vs. Gary Albright The Eagle did his best but Albright pinned him with a Dragon Suplex. Mike Awesome vs. Lance Storm Awesome was another wrestler looking to regain his dominance after Seattle Showdown, and crushed poor Storm with the Awesome Bomb. The Patriot vs. David Young The masked hero fought hard and was able to defeat the Golden State Tag Champ with the Patriot Missile. California Title Match : Dennis Condrey © vs. Chris Jericho The Thrillseeker gave it an enthusiastic effort, but Loverboy Dennis continued his impressive title reign with an inverted DDT.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , June 7th Al Snow vs. Sabu A bit of a rivalry has sparked between the Snowman and the Bombay Madman, leading to a fast paced and frantic match that went to a double countout. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Genichiro Tenryu One of the biggest wins of Bam Bam's career was over the Japanese legend, and despite a ferocious effort from Tenryu, the Beast From The East was able to repeat with a top rope flying headbutt. Jerry Lynn vs. Brian Lee Lee was looking to reassert himself after his loss to Barry Windham at Seattle Showdown, and crushed Lynn with the Prime Time Slam. Dan Severn vs. Steve Williams The Beast and Dr. Death had a bruising battle that shook the ring with big slams and suplexes. Williams was ready to put Severn away with the Oklahoma Stampede, but Severn shut that down with a slidedown from his back. He then trapped Williams in an Oklahoma Roll to get the one two three in a major upset. Pacific Television Title Match : Big Bully Busick © vs. Scotty The Body The normally cool Scotty was livid after losing the TV title at Seattle Showdown. Combine that with Tina Ferrari's anger at getting shown up by the SOBs the night before. The two unleashed a series of underhanded tactics at the Big Bully in an attempt to regain the title. The Man From Powerhouse Hill kept a steady course and hit the Bully Breaker (hangman neckbreaker) to remain TV champ. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ted Dibiase © vs. Rick Martel Coming after a near escape with his title at Seattle Showdown, Dibiase would tonight be facing a Canadian legend in front of his countrymen. The Vancouver fans were solidly behind Martel as he challenged for the biggest prize. Martel clearly knew he would be in for a long battle, pacing himself early in the match and holding back on his flashier moves to focus on wearing down Dibiase. Dibiase had a wealth of experience himself, and did all he could to shut down Martel's challenge. It looked like the title would go to Martel when he trapped the champ in the middle of the ring in the Quebec Crab, but Dibiase was able to fight his way to the ropes. The two continued their struggle, until Martel sent Dibiase to the mat with a dropkick, the followed up with a Slingshot Splash. One … two … the bell rang. Martel and the fans were ecstatic, thinking he had won the title, but the ref said that the match went to a 60 minute time limit draw. Martel and the fans were disappointed, but it had been an epic match.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, June 6th Too Cold Scorpio vs. Dan Kay After the huge success of Seattle Showdown, PCW comes back with the return of a past favorite. Scorpio, a previous Light Heavyweight and Golden State Tag champ, was a much loved wrestler who is now back from great success in other promotions. The fans were ecstatic as he high fived them on the way to the ring, but were in for a surprise. While he was certainly an exciting in ring performer in his first run, his years away from the West Coast have taken his offense to the next level. The fans were agog at his spectacular high flying moves, finishing off Kay with a breathtaking 450 Splash. With the return of Scorpio and arrival of Jushin Liger, the Light Heavyweight division looks ready to go to the next level. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, at Seattle Showdown, my next guest went the distance with Big Vito Lograsso … "Gentleman" Chris Adams! Adams has his usual sour look on his face as he headed out to the ring. He was joined by Mike Awesome and Harlem Heat. Conspicuous by his absence is Diamond Dallas Page, but Adams has the other wrestlers gathered behind him as he speaks with Coss. Coss : Well, Chris Adams, I couldn't help noticing that someone is missing … Adams : No! Do not say that name! Our former supposed leader couldn't handle a tiny little piledriver on the concrete, so he is trying his luck elsewhere. What you are looking at right here is the League Of Gentlemen! (The other wrestlers nod in agreement, with Harlem Heat high fiving each other.) It's a new day and a fresh start, and we will accomplish what the other bloke couldn't do. We are ready for war, and we now have the unbeatable weapon in our arsenal … Dangerous K! The fans are stunned as Toshiaki Kawada, with a face as sour as Adams', stalks out to the ring. Coss : Toshiaki Kawada? What on earth …? Adams : I will speak for my friend here. Kawada has for a long time been fed up with Hashimoto and Sasaki holding him back, keeping with some idiotic code of supposed honor. I met with him in secret and we agreed that our philosophies are much the same. Coss : Wait, you speak Japanese? Adams : What, you don't? I have made many tours of Japan and am well versed in the Japanese language, among others. It didn't take long for us to reach an understand. We know he can be an incredible asset to the League, and the League can help him reach his true potential. What you are looking at are the five greatest wrestlers in the world today, and PCW is about to be taken over by the League Of Gentlemen! Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Fit Finlay The next match would be a duel of two rough , tough scrappers and neither of them were going easy on the others. They hit hard and often in a bruising battle, with the youth and fire of Ouellet matched by the grit and experience of Finlay. It was a close match, but it wound up going to PCO by way of a package piledriver. The crowd cheered the Canadian favorite, but he seems to be looking for new and bigger challenges. David Cash & Jason Jett vs. Harlem Heat True to his word, Chris Adams was out to back up his tag team and light a fire under them. While the Money Train duo of Cash and Jett certainly had plenty of fire to them, the power and rage of Harlem Heat were too much to overcome, and Cash wound up pinned after the Harlem Hangover. An impressive start to the new League of Gentlemen. Chris Hamrick vs. Makhan Singh While Singh was on the losing side of the big six man cage match at Seattle Showdown, the Monster still has yet to be pinned since his return to the West Coast. Despite an heroic effort from Hamrick, he was not the man to stop Singh at this time, being squashed by the Monster Mash (front slam). Makhan Singh continues to be unstoppable in PCW action. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest came out of the Seattle Showdown Night One main event victorious … Stunning Steve Austin! The crowd cheers loudly as Austin comes out, but the blonde Texan seems to be dealing with mixed emotions. Coss : Steve, that was truly an incredible victory you had, defeating the previously undefeated Mike Awesome in the cage! Austin : Thanks a bunch, Don. It took a lot, but I knew I could beat him, no matter how big he was. It was a hell of a match … and I can't think of a better note to go out on. *cue gasps from the crowd* Coss : Stunning Steve, what are you saying? Austin : Just what it sounds like, Don. When I got to PCW , I was just starting out in the business. I knew that I would only be here for a short time … but , despite my ups and downs, I came to enjoy the West Coast and its fans. We had us a good ole time … however, I knew, sooner or later, it would be time for this ole Texas boy to move on. When I finally beat the one guy I couldn't beat before, I realized it was time. Time for me to face some new challenges in a new place. Before I go, though, I want to tell you that I've had the time of my life and I will never forget you crazy knuckleheads! The crowd gives him a standing ovation as Pierre Carl Ouellet comes out and gives his friend a manly farewell hug. He raises Austin's arm in triumph as Stunning Steve goes on to fulfill his destiny. The Thunder Dragons (Jushin Liger & Dragon Azul) vs. The Suicide Blondes The new duo of the Thunder Dragons made a sensational debut at Seattle Showdown, and a lot of the fans were eager to see what they would do next. They would be facing the Suicide Blondes, themselves victorious at Seattle Showdown, and the Thunder Dragons were accompanied by the mysterious robed and cowled woman. Things took an unusual turn before the match even started, as Cannonball Grizz and the Sandman came out and interacted with the robed women. They mostly mimed their conversation, but the robed woman seemed to understand the gist of what they were trying to say. She raised her Kendo stick and gestured to the back, and Liger and Dragon dutifully returned to the locker room. Strangely, the robed woman stayed at ringside, to the clear displeasure of Tina Ferrari. The Blondes seemed confident, having defeated the Sons Of The Beach at Seattle Showdown, but the reason they won, Tina, was effectively neutralized by the presence of the robed woman. While the Blondes and the SOBs fought it out in the ring, the robed woman was always one step ahead of her. Tina eventually got fed up and attacked the robed woman , but got a shock when she pulled off the cowl, showing that the mystery woman had blue eyes and shoulder length blonde hair. The ref came over to break up the kerfuffle, and while Tina argued with the ref, the mystery woman underhanded her Kendo stick into the ring. The Sandman grabbed it and whalloped it across the back of Louie Spiccoli, who was then hit by a running cross body press from Grizz. The ref turned around and made the three count, giving the revenge victory to the Sons Of The Beach. Tina tried to go after the blonde woman again, but the mystery woman was now surrounded, not just by the SOBs but also the Thunder Dragons and Shinya Hashimoto. Tina and the Blondes beat a hasty retreat while the Sandman kissed the blonde woman and the fans wondered just what on earth was going on.

Playboy has been an interesting project with me. One of my favorite wrestlers, he has always been central to Portland wrestling and the straw that stirs the drink in the territory, my Jerry Lawler as it were. But the inevitable fact was that his physical deterioration IRL over the years would make it hard to justify him as the top man in a territory with the likes of Bret Hart, Barry Windham, Ted Dibiase , etc. (In the real timeline, this would be when he would be doing the Blow Away Diet skits, pretty much washed up in his late 30s). I did my best to keep his value up so that it could be a major win for Bret to defeat him, and not damage Rose's name because I had worked hard over the years to make Bret a top singles contender. Meanwhile, although Rose would no longer be the main guy in Portland, he still had a place in my plans as the spider in the middle of the web of the Playboy Club, still causing trouble and driving action.

Pacific Championship Wrestling Seattle Showdown from the Kingdome, Seattle, Night Two The Thrillseekers vs. Rob Zakowski & The Lightning Kid Night Two kicks off with a fast paced match between two promising young duos. Ever since their respective debuts at the start of the year, the Thrillseekers and the Hexagon have gotten a lot of good attention with their fresh and exciting style. It seemed like the tag team coordination of the Thrillseekers would carry the day. But Storm got caught flatfooted by a back heel kick from the Lightning Kid. This left him prey to a Split Legged Moonsault from Zakowski , giving the win to the Hexagon. Regardless, neither team has anything to be ashamed of with this performance, and they both continue to show considerable promise. Big Vito Lograsso vs. Chris Adams Jim Cornette's young enforcer has been gaining a reputation as a scrapper to be reckoned with. He tangled with the always dangerous Chris Adams (not surprisingly without Diamond Dallas Page in his corner) in a hard hitting bout. Vito was able to avoid the Superkick, but was not able to get Adams down enough for the Sicilian Smash (running forearm smash to the face), and the match went to a 15 minute time limit draw. A sulky Adams gave Vito a begrudging palm slap after the match, but Cornette was hyping Vito like he was king of the world. The Italian Stallion was certainly impressive in going to the limit with a contender like Adams. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) vs. Jimmy Del Ray & Billy Black Vito's Hollywood Heartbreaker comrades didn't fare quite as well, but you couldn't really hold it against them in this instance. The powerhouse duo of Atlas and Cameron have been nigh unstoppable since their return to the West Coast, and while Del Ray and Black did manage to sneak in some dirty tricks, Iron & Steel continued their roll with a spike piledriver on Del Ray. It's only a matter of time before Iron & Steel get the big prize in their sights. Texas Bullrope Match : Barry Windham vs. Brian Lee With Brian Lee betraying the Brigade and becoming the chief assassin for the Playboy Club, he and his former friend Barry Windham have been going at it, fist and fire. Their feud would climax with this match, a pinfalls based Texas Bullrope match. The bullrope accentuated the hatred in this match, with both men throttling the other with the rope and busting each other open with the cowbell in the middle. Lee showed the most furious, but just couldn't quite land the Prime Time Slam. Windham finally outlasted Lee, wrapping the rope around his arm and levelling the Bulldozer with a Western Lariat. It took a tremendous struggle, but Windham came out on top. Shinya Hashimoto vs. Genichiro Tenryu These two Japanese stars have found themselves facing each other from time to time since their arrival in PCW, but they would now get a chance to show what they can do on the big stage of a Mega Show. They put on a wrestling clinic, showing that hard hitting intensity could blend with technical mastery. Unfortunately, things took a turn due to an unexpected source. During the match, Toshiaki Kawada came down to the ring and got up on the ring apron. When Hashimoto came off the ropes, Kawada knocked him senseless with a high kick to the back of the head. Up until this point, Kawada and Hashimoto had been thought to be friends, so it was utterly shocking for Kawada to turn on him in such a fashion. Tenryu didn't see what happened and , out of sheer instinct, executed the Power Bomb on Hashimoto for the win, but seemed puzzled as to what just happened. The whole crowd were puzzled, to put it mildly , as to just what has gotten into Kawada. Bret Hart vs. Buddy Rose At the start of the year, Bret Hart declared that he would be Pacific Heavyweight champion by the end of 1990. To that end, he has been battling with a host of top contenders, and tonight would face no less than 2 time Pacific Champ Buddy Rose. Hart was fueled not just by his drive to get to the top of the West Coast, but also a thirst for vengeance for what the Playboy Club had done to his friend Roddy Piper just the week before. Perhaps Rose was rattled by what Big Bully Busick and Barry Windham had done earlier in the card to Scotty The Body and Brian Lee, respectively. He seemed to go into panic mode early, with a furious Hart blasting through any attempts at dirty tricks by the Playboy. The Hitman took rose down with a top rope bulldog, then trapped him in the Sharpshooter. Rose quickly tapped out, and while Hart seemed tempted to make him suffer more, he dropped the hold and walked away, giving Rose a disgusted look. Bret Hart had made a statement, and it is one that is certainly tough to ignore. Dragon Azul & ?? ?? vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero There has been much drama of late between Dragon Azul and Art Barr, along with the other members of the Hexagon, and much of it has come from the mysterious robed and cowled woman who has been at the side of Dragon. Perhaps they were over eager to be rid of Dragon once and for all, but Guerrero and the current Pacific Light Heavyweight champ quickly signed the match to face the masked man and his mystery partner. The two of them had the credentials to back up their confidence, with past runs as Light Heavyweight champ, Submission champ and Golden State Tag Team champs between the two of them, and they seemed certain to be more than a match for whoever the robed woman threw at them. The robed woman and the masked man came out in silence. When they got to the ring, she simply raised her Kendo stick high, then slowly pointed it to the ring entrance. Out of the ring entrance stepped … Jushin "Thunder" Liger! The crowd exploded in gasps and cheers. The young Japanese sensation has made a considerable name for himself in the past year or so in other territories, and the fans were thrilled to get to see him in person. Barr and Guerrero were not going to back down, however, and the result was a fast paced and exciting match, with the new team cranking up the intensity with seemingly every move. Liger, in particular, gained instant love from the fans, with his charisma and innovative moves reminding some of the first Light Heavyweight champ, Keiichi Yamada. It was Liger who wound up getting them the win, catching Barr coming off the ropes with a running palm strike under the chin. With her newest charge getting a pinfall over the Light Heavyweight champion, this robed woman has wasted no time in assembling a group of top contenders. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Miracle Violence Combination © vs. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle Since winning the Pacific Heavyweight Title, the MVC have just rolled over their opposition, setting a claim to be the most dominant tag champs in the history of the title. The super heroic patriots of the Force Of July were made of stern stuff, however, and Williams and Gordy seemed a bit surprised at how much of a fight they were given. No matter how much they were knocked down, the masked due kept bouncing back up. The two teams wound up battling outside the ring, and they were so fiercely slugging it out that they wound up being counted out, resulting in a draw. A disappointing result, but you can bet that the FoJ will be getting another shot before long. Pacific Trios Title Match : The Money Train (David Cash, Chris Hamrick & Jason Jett) © vs. The Midnight Express (Stan Lane, Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey) The Money Train are very early in their career, but have gained a lot of affection from the fans with their boisterous personalities and flashy moves. Being the inaugural Trios champs, they have swiftly achieved considerable prestige. This time, however, they would be facing the veteran team of the Midnight Express, with the dastardly Jim Cornette in his corner. The Midnights taught the champs the irreplaceable power of experience. While the Train got in some of their trademark moves, the Midnights were always able to shut down their momentum and put the match back into their hands. At a particularly chaotic point, Cash was up on Eaton's shoulders, attempting a Victory Roll. Condrey got up on the top turnbuckle and jacked Cash in the back of the head with Cornette's tennis racquet, letting Eaton faceplant Cash hard on the mat. Eaton then zipped up to the top rope and hit the Alabama Jam, getting the three count and the titles to Camp Cornette. A sad result, but just goes to show that, talented though they are, the Money Train have a bit to learn before they are truly on the level of the Midnight Express. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ted Dibiase © vs. Sgt. Slaughter The show closed out with the much anticipated Pacific Heavyweight Title match. This would be Dibiase's first true test of his title reign, defending against the All American Hero. A pretty stern test of the champs abilities, indeed. Dibiase had the technical expertise, but Slaughter was even more experienced. Dibiase was a capable brawler, but Slaughter could throw down with the best of them. Dibiase had considerable underhanded tactics, but Slaughter would not put up with that kind of nonsense for long. Dibiase even found himself trapped in the Cobra Clutch , a move similar to his own Million Dollar Dream, but was fortunate enough to be close to the ropes. It seemed like his time ran out when Slaughter charged at him for the Slaughter cannon, but the champ ducked at the last second, and Slaughter levelled the ref with the move. Dibiase seized the opportunity to pull out his dreaded loaded black glove. He tried to hit Slaughter with it, but Sarge caught his fist and landed several brutal rights to the face of Dibiase. He then wrapped him in the Cobra Clutch in the middle of the ring. As Dibiase waved his arms about, the ref had finally recovered and tapped Sarge on the shoulder. Slaughter dropped Dibiase to the mat and raised his arm in triumph. NO! The ref signaled to him that he had NOT won the title, and was instead disqualified for striking the referee. As Sarge argued with the ref, Dibiase grabbed his title belt and ran off into the night, laughing all the way. The Man Of Means had escaped again.

Pacific Championship Wrestling Seattle Showdown from the Kingdome, Seattle, Night One Sons Of The Beach (Cannonball Grizz & The Sandman) vs. The Suicide Blondes PCW kicks off their Pacific Northwest Megashow with a much anticipated tag team showdown. In their short time in PCW, the Sons Of The Beach have gathered quite a following but have also gained the ire of the Playboy Club. Buddy Rose clearly didn't like being rebuffed by the surfing duo and have sent his own tag team, the Suicide Blondes , to make them pay for their impertinence . The Blondes were up to their usual tricks and nonsense, but the Sons weren't going to slow down for anyone. As frequently happens with the Playboy Club, it fell to Tina Ferrari to upset the scales. She was able to trip the Sandman coming off the ropes. He was able to recover, but when he turned to face Ferrari, he was blindsided by a spinning back heel kick from Candido. This left him prey to a Samoan Drop by Spicolli, stealing the win for the Blondes. Grizz was hugely upset by the result, but it was Sandman, the one who had been pinned, who was able to calm him down. He could be heard saying the words, "Stick to the plan", and Grizz not only settled down, but started to grin. Who knows what this could mean? Shane Douglas vs. Dean Malenko When the Hexagon aligned at the beginning of the year, they made it their mission to take down the Citadel. They had considerable success early on, but with Shane, Big Bully Busick, and Jerry Lynn joining up with the Citadel, as well as the leadership of Dan Severn, the Citadel have turned the tables on the Sinister Minister's men. Malenko did everything he could to put down Douglas, using his vast arsenal of weardown holds and considerable technical expertise. Douglas just kept bouncing back, and caught Malenko in the Belly To Belly Suplex for a comeback win. No doubt about it, the Citadel are on the rise. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Sabu The New Jersey Fireball has been on an absolute roll, but he isn't looking to build up his record with wins over light competition. He is seeking out the toughest competition and he certainly found that in the Bombay Madman. Sabu's savage intensity, unorthodox style and daredevil moves kept Bigelow off balance for much of the match, and it ran through the minds of the fans that an upset might just be in the works. Sabu's recklessness wound up costing him when Bigelow caught him in an attempted spinning back heel kick and turned it around into a Powerslam. Bam Bam wasn't about to take any chances, and went up top, hitting the Nuclear Splash. The one two three was academic, and he had done it again. It took a lot, but the Beast From The East remains triumphant. Pierre Carl Ouellet & Rick Martel vs. Harlem Heat PCO has been battling with the Diamond Exchange pretty much since his return to PCW, with DDP consistently piling on the numbers to try to put down the Fighting French Canadian. In this tag match, he had the legendary Rick Martel by his side, and they did well against the towering team of Harlem Heat. They did well against the big duo, and it looked like they would carry the day when Ouellet went to the top rope for Le Cannonball on Booker T. DDP took matters into his own hands when he went up on the ring apron and shoved Ouellet hard to the mat. Stevie Ray then hit the Slapjack and pinned Ouellet. PCO was clearly fuming when he left the ring, with Martel telling him that his day would come. Billy Gunn vs. Toshiaki Kawada Since the dissolution of Phoenix Rising, Toshiaki Kawada has shown a real change of attitude, going on an absolute rampage, brutalizing his opposition every chance he got. Gunn unfortunately found himself in the path of this rampage, with Kawada blasting him with painful looking moves before taking the Texan down with a brainbuster. That was not enough for the Japanese star, who pulled up Gunn from the mat and gave him another brainbuster before pinning him. Gunn ended up having to be helped from the ring. Kawada is on a path to become the most dangerous wrestler on the Pacific Coast. Pacific Submission Title Match : Steve Blackman © vs. Fit Finlay Young Steve Blackman has kept a slow but sure progress up the ranks of PCW, to the point he is now the currently reigning Pacific Submission champ. With his mentor Dan Severn cheering him on from ringside, the Living Weapon did battle with the former champ, the always intimidating Fit Finlay. Despite a lot of big bombs and wrenching moves from Finlay, Blackman kept at it, taking the Belfast Bruiser down with a lightning quick legsweep before forcing him to tap out to an Indian Leglock. Blackman is proving that the nickname The Living Weapon was no exaggeration. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Oregon Wrecking Crew (Gary Albright & David Young) © vs. Stormfront (Al Snow & Jerry Lynn) The OWC showed considerable promise in their first year in PCW, but they have truly broken out as part of the Terror Collective. Facing a very determined duo of former Pacific Tag champs Stormfront, Albright and Young weathered out that storm and came out on top, with a ferocious Dragon Suplex by Albright on Snow putting an end to the challenge. Clearly, "The Man Of Means" Ted Dibiase invested well when he brought the Oregon Wrecking Crew into the Terror Collective. Pacific Television Title Match : Scotty The Body © vs. ?? ?? After Roddy Piper was brutally ambushed by Brian Lee and the Playboy Club last week, it was clear afterwards that he would not be able to make the challenge for the TV title. What was not clear was how the actual TV Title Match would go forward. While it was going to happen, nobody knew who the challenger would be. Scotty was clearly unconcerned, laughing with Tina Ferrari as they headed to the ring. There was a dramatic pause as the spotlight went on the ring entrance, then out of it came ….. Big Bully Busick! Busick had an all business look as he tipped his trademark derby downwards as he headed out with Shane Douglas following behind. In the ring, Scotty was panicking, but Tina tried to calm him down, saying that they could put him down like they had everyone else. No chance, as Douglas kept very close taps on Tina to make sure she kept out of the match. Scotty tried to go for his usual dirty tricks, but once again, no dice, as they just bounced off the Bully like he was Superman. Scotty foolishly ran right into Busick, who caught him in a textbook Spinebuster Slam that shook the ring. One … two … THREE!!!! The fans exploded in cheers as Busick was now TV champion. What a turn around. From one of the most hated men on the West Coast on his return, now the beloved champ, the Man From Powerhouse Hill was now the King Of The Hill as his good friend Shane Douglas proudly put the title belt around his waist. 2/3 Falls Cage Match : The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) & Steven Regal vs. Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) & Makhan Singh One of the biggest stories of the first half of 1990 has been the war between the Dreamboats and Coast 2 Coast, a war which is about to come to an end, one way or another. Before the match, Commissioner Dutch Savage declared that this would be the last time that Dreamer & Shane and Tatum & Victory would face each other , so they had best get it all out of their systems. And get it out of their systems, they did , battering each other bloody with Regal and Singh eagerly getting involved in the fray. It was Singh who got the first fall, squashing Shane against the cage with the Karachi Krunch (Avalanche). Trisa Hayes' men were behind the 8 ball, but they fought back with determination, and Regal took out Victory with a Knee Trembler to even things up. Both teams went all out to show who was boss, and Dreamer and Shane were able to prevail with a Double DDT on Tatum. The fans cheered as the Dreamboat had finally gotten their vengeance. Cage Match : Steve Austin vs. Mike Awesome The first night of Seattle Showdown came to a climax with the most anticipated match, another Final Battle. Mike Awesome had not been pinned since his arrival in PCW a year and a half before. With Diamond Dallas Page's quest for vengeance against Stunning Steve, Awesome and Austin have been tearing into each other for much of this year, with neither of them coming out on top. They would put it all on the line in the cage, with DDP in Awesome's corner and a glowering Pierre Carl Ouellet in Austin's. The two had a ferocious and blood battle in the cage, Austin fighting his way out of all attempts at the Awesome Bomb and Awesome dodging the Stun Gun. Page kept trying to climb the cage to try to interfere, but when he tried to slide his diamond headed cane into the cage, Ouellet had finally had all he could take. He slammed Page off the wall of the cage to the floor, then peeled away the floor mats. PCO then gave the Package Piledriver to Page on the concrete, and that was it for DDP for the rest of the match. Emboldened by his friend's actions, Austin whipped Awesome off the ropes and hit a Stun Gun that rammed his head into the cage. One … two … THREE!!!!!! Ouellet came into the cage and held his friend's hand up in triumphant. Austin had done it, he had beaten the unbeatable and the crowd were ecstatic. Now, on to Night Two!

Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, May 25th Tommy Dreamer vs. Makhan Singh Makhan Singh continues to be the bane of the Dreamboats, crushing Dreamer with the Monster Mash (Front Slam) Rick Martel vs. The Lightning Kid Martel continued his West Coast comeback with a spirited battle with the Lightning Kid, pulling out the win with a diving cross body. Steven Regal vs. Jack Victory A ferocious throw down between two tough customers. It looked like it might go to Victory when he went for the Victory Plex, but Regal flipped over and trapped Victory in a Schoolboy Rollup for the one two three. Dan Severn & Steve Blackman vs. The Suicide Blondes Severn and Blackman continued their push to raise the fortunes of the Citadel, bringing the fight to the Suicide Blondes and getting the win by way of a takeover suplex from Severn on Candido. The Thrillseekers vs. The Midnight Express The Thrillseekers did well in the first half of the match, but Cornette gave his men the signal and they switched into a different gear. The Midnights took control and the Thrillseekers found themselves left behind, with Jericho losing to the Rocket Launcher. California Title Match : Dennis Condrey © vs. Shane Douglas Douglas gave the champ a lot of fight, going toe to toe and almost going the distance for a 30 minute time limit draw. It was just after the 29 minute, thirty second mark that Condrey hit the Full Nelson Facebuster, just barely pulling out the victory.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, May 24th Chris Hamrick vs. Mike Awesome Gearing up for his final battle with Steve Austin, Mike Awesome squashed Hamrick with the Awesome Bomb. Big Bully Busick vs. Billy Black The Man From Powerhouse Hill beat "The Redneck Casanova" Billy Black with his trademark Spinebuster Slam. Stormfront (Al Snow & Jerry Lynn) vs. Eddie Guerrero & Dean Malenko Al Snow impressed many last week with his efforts against Sabu, and continued that momentum in this tag match with other members of the Hexagon. All four men pulled out the stops, but it was Snow who pulled out the win with a Moonsault on Malenko. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Art Barr © vs. Dragon Azul Dragon was gunning so hard to regain the Light Heavyweight Title that he seemed to catch the always fierce Art Barr off guard. Dragon came close on a number of occasions to getting the pinfall, and he evidently put a scare in the Sinister Minister, who signaled to the back and got Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko to run into the ring. The mysterious robed woman tossed her Kendo stick in to Dragon, who sent the Hexagon making a hasty retreat. A DQ win for Dragon Azul, but not the title. We will soon see what he and the robed woman have planned with their mystery partner at Seattle Showdown. Barry Windham vs. Genichiro Tenryu These two had squared off some time ago in what is considered one of the greatest matches in PCW history. The rematch lived up to the anticipation, a hard hitting technical classic which could have gone either way. After an epic war, Windham levelled Tenryu with a top rope flying lariat for a truly legendary win. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ted Dibiase © vs. The Patriot Dibiase's last defense before Seattle Showdown was against one half of the Force Of July. While Dibiase managed a clear cut win over the masked man's partner last week, but the Patriot wound up being a lot more to handle. The champ wound up taking the low road, waiting for a ref distraction to pull out his loaded glove and slugging the Patriot in the back of the head. A dirty win, but still a win. It is unlikely that Sgt. Slaughter will put up with any of this nonsense.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, May 23rd The Sons Of The Beach (Cannonball Grizz & The Sandman) vs. Joel Anderson & Chet Welch Little by little, the Sons Of The Beach have been gathering their own following with each match. The surfing superstars easily handled their opposition, with Grizz squashing Welch with the Cannonball Crush (top rope splash). Their biggest test as a team will come at Seattle Showdown as they face off with the Suicide Blondes of the Playboy Club. Jason Jett vs. Big Vito Lograsso Big Vito is another who is gaining momentum, match by match. The enforcer of Camp Cornette has gotten some beatings but dished out plenty in return. He was taking no prisoners with Jason Jett, and though the Money Train member put in a valiant effort, he would up going down to the Sicilian Smash (running forearm smash to the face). Say what you will about the Italian Stallion, he is tougher than the proverbial coffin nail. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) vs. Danny Brown & Ace Gordon Ask anyone who is the most dominant team in PCW, and most people would either answer Pacific Tag Champs the Miracle Violence Combination or Iron & Steel. Atlas and Cameron certainly showed why by overwhelming their opponents, pinning Brown following a Spike Piledriver. The question remains : when are they getting their shot at the big belts? Glamour Boy Shane vs. Brian Lee Brian Lee is facing a showdown with his former ally Barry Windham in a Texas Bullrope match at Seattle Showdown. Looking to show his strength before that match, he held nothing back against Glamour Boy Shane. Shane was not able to make a dent in the big Bulldozer, and Lee got a fairly easy victory with the Prime Time Slam. By now, Windham has to know that this will be a climactic battle with no quarter given. Sgt. Slaughter vs. David Young On the verge of his biggest PCW match yet, challenging Ted Dibiase for the Pacific Heavyweight Title, Sarge must first get past another member of the Terror Collective, David Young. Young was certainly not about to roll over for the double tough DI, and gave Slaughter an hellacious battle. Sarge pulled through and ultimately prevail , forcing Young to tap out to the Cobra Clutch. Slaughter is looking very good going into Seattle Showdown. Roddy Piper vs. Buddy Rose Ever since his return to the West Coast, Rowdy Roddy has delighted in tormenting Playboy Buddy Rose and the rest of the Playboy Club. On the verge of his challenging Scotty The Body for the Pacific Television Title, Piper couldn't resist the offer of another chance to frustrate Buddy Rose in the ring. He really should have found a way to resist, as he didn't even make it to the ring. No sooner had the Hot Scot come through the ring entrance than he was ambushed with a lariat from behind by Brian Lee. Lee proceeded to brutalize Piper, including a terrifying drop onto a ringside barricade . While Buddy Rose sat in the ring and laughed, Scotty The Body and the Suicide Blondes held off any attempt to help Piper. Lee peeled off the ringside mats and drove Piper down with a Prime Time Slam on the concrete. Bret Hart and Rick Martel finally broke through the line to protect Piper , but the damage had been done. The Playboy Club ran off, laughing all the way, while Piper had to be helped onto a stretcher. The question is now whether Rowdy Roddy will even make it to challenge for the TV title.

I actually pushed for literally *NONE* of those wrestlers to come into the game, so you haven't even gotten that right. I simply used them when they did become available, usually after another booker had used them first, and did what I thought was best with them. You have not been a participating member in this project for some time, but that hasn't stopped you from coming back, again and again, making the same comments, again and again. Never helpful, always in the same tone. Again and again. You have said your piece. We have heard what you have said, and we have made up our own minds gone our own way regardless. So there is no need for you to repeat it anymore. So , once again, your comments are neither needed nor desired. There is the door, your place is on the other side of it. And seriously ...

I may well not be the best one for claims of "realism", just my opinion (no more than that) is that he is perhaps a bit young for somebody to pick up from another country. Of course, he is American born, and I was unaware of the PWI mention, which would, as you say, put him on the radar.

My inclination would be no. Rey was 17 in 1991 and wouldn't be in AAA until 1992. I certainly have had some teenagers on my roster, but they have generally been North American, which would be at least slightly within the realm of credulity. Having a small young teenage luchador who IRL was working in Mexican indies be signed to an American circuit would push even our flexible standards of realism. I think we need to let the paint on this dry for a year or so more. Just my 2 cents.

Just found out that Gregory/Shane Helms' partner in the Serial Thrillaz, Mike Maverick, was already active a few years by now, so perhaps he could be added into this year's draft.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, May 18th Jason Jett vs. Jimmy Del Ray Jett took down the Gigolo with the Afterburner (Slingshot Somersault Suplex) Chris Hamrick vs. Toshiaki Kawada Kawada continued his reign of brutality, countering a FrankenHamrick with a Powerbomb then forcing Confederate Currency to submit to the Kawada Crab Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) vs. Harlem Heat The two tough teams fought to another draw, this time a Double Countout while brawling outside the ring. Al Snow vs. Sabu Sabu seemed like he had something to prove after losing to Big Bully Busick at Vegas Vengeance, so he went all out against the Snowman. . Snow surprised some in the crowd by drawing a line in the sand against the Bombay Madman, matching him move for move. Sabu was finally able to put down Snow with a wheel kick, following up with a Slingshot Legdrop for the win, but he certainly had to work hard for it. The Patriot vs. Stan Lane The All-American Hero defeated Sweet Stan with the Patriot Missile. California Title Match : Dennis Condrey © vs. David Cash "Loverboy" Dennis closed out the night with a down and dirty victory over the fast rising Cash, putting him down with a shoulder breaker.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Makhan Singh "The Monster" continued to be unstoppable, beating Dreamer with the Karachi Krunch (Avalanche) Steven Regal vs. John Tatum Regal was not about to brook any of Tatum's shenanigans and took him down hard, forcing him to tap out to the Regal Stretch. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Miracle Violence Combination © vs. The Thrillseekers The Thrillseekers have been having a great rookie year, but found themselves out of their depth with the bigger and more experienced champs. The MVC had another successful defense with Williams pinning Jericho following the Oklahoma Stampede. Pacific Submission Title Match : Steve Blackman © vs. Eddie Guerrero Blackman had a tense defense against a former Submission champ, forcing Guerrero to give up the match with a Cross Armbreaker. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ted Dibiase © vs. The Eagle Despite the Eagle's best efforts, Dibiase defeated the masked man with the Million Dollar Driver (Cobra Clutch into a Russian Legsweep).

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, May 16th The Sons Of The Beach (Cannonball Grizz & The Sandman) vs. Aaron Reisberger & Michael Bortone In their short time as a duo on the West Coast, the Sons Of The Beach have gained a considerable amount of fan support, and the dressing down they gave the Playboy Club last week certainly added weight to that. The crowd gave them a substantial cheer as they came out, and that seemed to punch up their energy considerably. The Sons rolled right over Reisberger and Bortone before crushing Bortone with the Hang 10 (Flying Legdrop by Sandman while Grizz held the opponent over his knee). The Sons have the momentum, but will this continue after having caught the attention of the Playboy Club? Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests have formed a new alliance on the West Coast … Rick Martel and Pierre Carl Ouellet! The crowd cheers as Martel and PCO walk out to the ring. Martel, handsome and charming as ever, embraces the fans as he walks out. Coss : Rick Martel, we sure are glad to see you return to the West Coast. What brings you back? Martel : Well, Don, I am glad you asked me. I've had a lot of success in my career and I worked hard for all of it. The last while, though, I started taking shortcuts. I got full of myself, thought I was more important than everyone. When my last run in my last promotion ended, I had to take some time to take a long hard look at myself. I went back home to Quebec to get back in touch with my roots. When I was there, I started hearing about a young Quebecois on the West Coast who was doing great things. Making a name for himself. I came out to see for myself and was very impressed with what I saw. But when I saw the Diamond Exchange gang up on him, I couldn't just stand by. I came out and stood by his side, and that was the start of a great friendship. We have each other's backs. PCO keeps my feet on the ground, and if I can do anything to help him become the superstar he is destined to be, I am here for him. PCO : That's right, Ricky! I was never going to roll over for the Diamond Exchange, so they tried to take advantage when Steve Austin was away. Well guess what? I have more friends, and one of them is one of the greatest wrestlers who ever lived! Diamond Dallas Page, you thing you are riding high, but take it from me … your days are numbered! Billy Gunn vs. Big Vito Lograsso Another wrestler who is coming into his own is "The Italian Stallion" Big Vito Lograsso. His manager, Jim Cornette, has pushed him into more and more high profile opponents, and while he hasn't won them all, he has gained a reputation as a tough customer who should not be underestimated. This week, he tangled with the genial cowboy of the Brigade, and while Gunn did his best, Lograsso just plain beat him down, finishing him off with the Sicilian Smash (running forearm smash to the face). Big Vito is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous men in PCW. Steve Austin vs. Billy Black As PCO referenced earlier, Steve Austin had been suspended for a couple of weeks, but now he is back. Knowing that he has to get ready for his big cage match with Steve Austin in a couple of weeks, Austin takes on another of Jim Cornette's rising stars, "The Redneck Casanova" Billy Black. Austin and Black were both all business, throwing fists right and left before breaking out the big offense. Black landed some big moves but ultimately Austin spotted him well enough to catch him coming off the ropes and take him down with the Stun Gun. A strong win, but the threat of Mike Awesome in the cage looms just on the horizon. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Art Barr © vs. Dragon Azul Art Barr got his first singles title in PCW with his victory over Dragon Azul for the Light Heavyweight title at Vegas Vengeance. Dragon was such a popular and successful champion that it was inevitable that the masked man would be in line for a chance to regain the title. Both men went all out, and the fans were on the edge of their seats for this match. The mysterious robed woman was at ringside for this match, which provided something of an irritating distraction for the Sinister Minister. The SinMin got sufficiently frustrated that he called in Eddie Guerrero to try to take out Dragon, leading to a DQ finish. The moment the ref called for the bell, the mystery woman slid her Kendo stick into the ring to Dragon, who sent the Hexagon scattering back to the locker room. Whoever this woman is, she has certainly proved effective in looking out for her men. Roddy Piper & Bret Hart vs. Scotty The Body & Brian Lee Piper has been messing with the Playboy Club ever since his return to Pacific Coast Wrestling, and Bret Hart seems to be watching his back. With an upcoming TV title match at Seattle Showdown, Piper got an early shot at the champ in this tag match with Scotty and the enforcer for the Club, "Bulldozer" Brian Lee. Scotty and Lee tried to dominate Rowdy Roddy with dirty tricks, keeping him in their end of the ring and cut off from his partner. There is nobody who knows more about dirty tricks than the Hot Scot, and Piper was able to lure Scotty and Lee into an in ring collision before tagging in the Hitman. From there on, the skill of Hart and the cunning of Piper kept them in control of the match, and Hart was able to dropkick Scotty into a belly to back suplex by Piper, giving Hot Rod a pinfall over the champ. Scotty was clearly not happy with this, but Lee seemed especially furious with the result. Regardless, this gives Piper a major boost on the way to his title match.
