  2. http://culturecrossfire.com/wrestling/kayf...8-nwa-timeline/ J.J. Dillon tells us his observations on the last year of Jim Crockett Promotions.
  3. I think in wrestling lore more than anything else. Was it a big deal the next year when Dick the Bruiser and Dick Murdoch traded it back and forth? Or the main belt for a small territory that happened to be run by the President of the NWA? It was a big deal because it was Sam's title and he pushed it as the #2 title in the world. Now was it a big deal everywhere else in the public's eyes absolutely not but with the power of St. Louis it was a big deal with the promoters because if Sam was high on you then you were just about a made man in most places. For what it's worth, the Apter mags had a article in the late 80's reminiscing about how the Missouri title was a "stepping stone" to the NWA World Strap.

This seems to be a unique perspective from what I saw around the net.

I had a choice between recording RAW or Little House on the Prairie, I picked LHP. After reading the Raw results, I do not regret the decision. Little House built up 3 awesome heels - new comers to Walnut Grove, 2 older brothers and a teenage kid. The older 2 set off ripping off Olsen's Mercantile, the local lumberyard, lying to the Priest and eventually smashing the Ingalls eggs and sexually harassing Charles' wife. By this point these men are the best heels ever. Meanwhile their teen bro is stealing toys from little kids, tricking kids out of their candy and knocking kids off the teeter totter. Mary Ingalls has enough of this shithead and gets all up in his face so he CRACKS her and bruises up her eye. HEEL HEAT! Anyway - once Charles gets wind of his wife being sexually harassed, he's the best babyface ever and charges over to their house - not fearing the 2 on one situation. He wisely smashes one with a chair and kicks the others ass until his brother recovers and they do a big beat down like they're the Honky Tonk Man and Hart Foundation and Charles is the most macho of fictional Randy Savage's. Only Hulk Hogan doesn't save Charles ...his best friend, the burly Mr. Edwards finds him bloodied and broken. So now Charles is all Bruce Wayne like after Bane whips his ass. Forced to recover while the tyrants roam the land. Charles being all man, refuses to have anyone else do his dirty work. So finally all the kids at school get sick of the teen kid and he gets his comeuppance in a 12 on 1 nWo style beatdown that leaves him a battered mess. His brothers meanwhile are convinced to go to Church, and the Priest is all Brother Love on them, until the big Vince Russo swerve where the Priest locks one of the men in a hammerlock and tosses him into the church wall! The other is surrounded by towns folk and the trio is chased out of town. One hour of greatness. I'm ready to see the PPV match between the thugs vs Charles and Mr. Edwards now! I hope Little House beat Raw in the ratings.
  16. Pillman did the entrance way plunge vs Cactus Jack as well.
  17. My neighbor taped this off WGN when it 1st aired. Thus it has a great sentimental value as I've watched it dozens of times after I got my copy.
  18. http://culturecrossfire.com/wrestling/kayf...ibis-jj-dillon/ I offer up a quick bio of Dillon and then I cover an interview Dillon did regarding how to book wrestling tv. Feedback is welcomed!
  19. http://culturecrossfire.com/wrestling/kayf...view-reviews-2/ I review an awesome 2 1/2 hour Bill Watts shoot interview - conducted by Jim Cornette, but before hand I offer an overview of Watts career and some key Mid South angles (with Youtube linked goodness!) If nothing else the Bill Watts promo is worth your time!
  20. I made an error in the Brunzell shoot, I labeled the team of BJ Lanza and Duncum as the "Black and Blue Express" when that was actually Patera and Duncum.
  21. I avoid HTM shoots now because I just think he's a total scumbag. I'm not into shoots for that whole "hear him SHOOT on X" gimmick. That's a pathetic scene and HTM epitomises it. The best shoots by far I've seen or heard have been the ones with Bill Watts. You'd probably like Jim Brunzell's shoot. Ironically that was my first review this week: http://culturecrossfire.com/wrestling/shoo...ed-jim-brunzel/ Jim Brunzell shoots on the Gagne's, Why Vince hated him from day one and more!

  24. How did he get into wrestling....?
  25. You mention in the shoot Barry talks about Vince's love of Mike Rotundo, does he mention why? Has anyone every heard stories of why Vince really like Rotundo? I'd really like to know more about this, it just seems really odd. IIRC Barry doesn't elaborate. Vince did hire Mike like 4 or 5 times so there must be something there Vince likes.
