  1. Hi, did you just awaken from a coma? Would you like some sports betting results from 2012?
  2. I feel like there's rarely been a more annoying time to be a wrestling fan than in the last 24 hours?

  4. Apparently, it's 2.5 years ago I liked better! https://forums.prowrestlingonly.com/topic/32062-blessed-times/
  5. Lagana can be messsged on Twitter but it likely won't go well. They're focused on the brand.
  6. Fakeism that looks real is always better than realism that looks fake.
  7. There's a stacked CMLL card tonight, including LA Park/Phoenix/Penta vs Rush/Briscoes. I've got kids to juggle and what not, but I'll be at least 2/3rds watching once it gets going. Anyone else want to try out the chatbox while it's on as a group watching experiment?
  8. Melina pointing out that Stacey has a "strong understanding of ring psychology" is my favorite bit of wrestling social media this year.

    WWE Hidden Gems

It's from PWUSA TV. There's a version on dotdotkins channel with both pre and post match promos too. Looks like what we have here is a slight upgrade of VQ as you'd expect. It does have an all time moonsault "knees-up" sell that feels like it's in slow motion.

    WWE Hidden Gems

Taking full credit for this because when cancelling my sub last week, I noted that I was cancelling because I thought we'd be getting more arena footage hidden gems. You're welcome. (I'm only half kidding). So if I'm not mistaken this is from the Thanksgiving Tag Team Tournament ($50k) at the Omni in 83. Teams: Butch Reed & Pez Whatley Randy Savage & Magnum T.A. Jim Neidhart & King Kong Bundy Tommy Rogers & Joe Lightfoot Randy Rose & Jimmy Randolph the Bruise Brothers (Troy Graham and Porkchop Cash, managed by Jimmy Hart) the Russians (Nikolai Volkoff and Korstia Korchenko) Ron Garvin & Jim Duggan Bob Brown & Chick Donovan the Mad Mongolians (Newt Tattrie & Gene Lewis). Main event: Tommy Rich & Buzz Sawyer defeated the Road Warriors (there was also Debbie Combs vs Donna Day, Dibiase vs Brett Sawyer, and Jake vs Wrestling II) I'm not sure Savage/Magnum vs Mad Mongolians would be the match I would pick from that show (it'd either be Reed/Whatley vs Savage/TA or Bruise Brothers vs Garvin/Duggan or Savage/TA) but whatever.
  11. We are here for you, Beast.
  12. I don't at all disagree with your last point.
  13. Los Ingobernables exist, in good part, to the Arena México crowd rejecting all the tecnicos after Mistico left.
  14. Is NXT drawing more than the WWF did in 95?
  15. I'd probably be as angry at my supervisor for putting me in that situation?
  16. I'm at the supermarket. You guys are on your own.

Now they're just screwing with us.

    Rick Martel

That's actually what Loss and I came up with too. It seemed so outlandish that I bumped this.
  19. If it helps, you're always going to be close to baba to me, big guy.

    Rick Martel

I'm bumping this to pose the question again: what is the best heel WWF Martel match? The ones that might come to mind first are underwhelming, sometimes damningly so (like the 20 minute broadway vs Bret and the Michaels match). He had a long run with Santana but it feels like a lot of those didn't actually make tape just because they were on the wrong loop at the wrong time. Any thoughts?
  22. That'd send me to therapy.
  23. I feel bad doing this as someone (especially someone who generally has a lot of valuable things to say about wrestling) wants to jump on, but I'm pretty sure we've run our course with this iteration of the experiment. We made it six months and a lot of reviews, but attrition is a powerful force. If you guys want to keep throwing matches at each other in this thread, great. If someone else wants to randomly generate the draws for the people that are left and have been active, that's great too. Otherwise, my plans are to let this sit for a while and to come back after Thanksgiving with Secret Santo II on the idea that we get a couple of months out of a refreshed community over the holidays. I'll still hit my last two matches and write them up. It might just be another week or so. Thanks for everyone who participated. I think we all had a lot of fun with this.
  24. I don't think that's true at all. I haven't seen the Harper match from last night yet, just the aftermath, but he's had a slew of fun TV matches so far. Styles, Rusev, the Gauntlet (Big E/Samoa Joe), Benjamin. If you look at the WWE over the last ten years or so, the TV matches have always been the real strength. You have ECW and/or a bunch of other C-show stuff in 2008-2009, the shield six-mans in 2013, maybe Cena's open challenges depending on how you feel about those. How many feuds does WWE actually nail?
