  8. Adrian Street is with Miss Linda, although she doesn’t say a lot as Feinstein nearly always addresses Street. Both are great guests and the stuff about the early days of his life and career in the UK is fascinating. Street also talks about hooking, the Snake Pit and Karl Gotch. Feinstein appears fairly ill prepared when it comes to the UK stuff, only really asking about guys who made their name in the U.S. (“memories of Al Hayes,” “memories of Dynamite Kid,” “memories of Billy Robinson” etc), fortunately Street gives lengthy and detailed replies. Does claim that the Road Warriors used face paint after they saw a photo of him and Linda on the wall in Jim Barnett’s office. Recommended.
  9. RF Video Adrian Street Shoot Interview
  10. Enjoyable interview and Powers is honest throughout. Feinstein jumps around when asking questions (talks about the Ultimate Warrior, then onto Ric Flair and hasn’t mentioned the Young Stallions yet), and it is about 70 minutes before the Stallions are mentioned, and then Powers brings them up. Some interesting stories also about how he was asked to be a witness for the defense in the steroid scandal, some beef that he had with the 123 Kid and his match with Razor Ramon on Raw, and attempts he had about trying to get involved with FCW to train the young guys. No mention of his time in ECW, and RF asks his old favourite about Randy Savage’s treatment of Elizabeth.
  11. RF Video Jim Powers Shoot Interview
  12. Good looking girl who comes across well and seems like a thoroughly decent person. Not too much to the shoot (70 mins), although that is to be expected as she hasn’t achieved much in the world of wrestling. Feinstein spends a lot of time asking her about Kevin, and surpasses himself with his “the Bella Twins, they’re guys right?” line.
  13. RF Video Lacey Von Erich Shoot Interview
  14. Didn’t care for this at all. First 15 minutes are devoted to the Celebrity Apprentice (which was airing in the US at the time this interview is being filmed), and too much time is devoted to her music career. In between they talk about wrestling and she comes across as a smart, astute girl who has a good mind for wrestling. Clearly a fan and talks about lots of ideas that she would throw at creative. Watch the Kayfabe Commentaries Youshoot instead.

    1992-03-21-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired March 21, 1992 Knoxville Civic Coliseum, Knoxville, TN Robert Gibson vs Joe Cazana INT: Bob Armstrong - he runs down the teams and brackets for the tag team tournament which starts on today’s show. He’s trying to get to the bottom of Jim Cornette’s surprise team and there’s no time to start like the present. The Wild Bunch (Joel Deaton & Billy Black) music video - Steppenwolf 'Born to be Wild’ Hector Guerrero vs Keith Hart INT: The Fantastics & Brian Lee & Tim Horner INT: Jim Cornette - after insulting the crowd (it looks like a green room at an acid flashback!), he then gets them to play a video. Cornette and Phil Rainey are in the back of a limousine and Cornette promises to introduce him to the greatest tag team in the universe and is taking them to their training location, where the next SMW tag team champions are working out and planning strategy. It turns out that this ‘training location’ is a Hooters Bar and Cornette gets the limo driver (called ‘Herd’, a lousy driver!) to pull over. Cornette tells Rainey they’re going to have a quiet little interview and he’s rented out the whole place so that they won’t be disturbed. They then go into the room to see a swarm of Hooters’ girls all crowded round ‘the team’ and Cornette says that someone has clearly spilled the beans. Rainey says he can’t see anyone, isn’t risking going into that melee and they’ll have to do the interview some other time. Back in the studio Cornette says it’s so long since the women in this part of the area have seen a real man that their hormones went South. He promises to try again next week in a special location that will be a little more private, so all these women won’t be able to harass them no more. Bob Holly vs Paul Miller INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony - Ron’s a bit disheartened as the fans aren’t getting behind this poor old broken down man and the cheques aren’t coming in the mail. He’s disappointed and hurt. It makes Anthony sick to see this legend sat in the chair, says that he’ll go through everyone in the upcoming tournament and will get Wright out of the chair one war or another. If the doctors can’t, then he’ll buy him the best gold chair that there is. The Maulers (Rip Morgan & Jack Victory) vs Johnny & Davey Rich INT: The Fantastics - they introduce Tommy Rogers as their mystery partner for the six man tag match. INT: Jimmy Golden - says that he’s just got a phone call from his two partners and both their wives are having a baby and they can’t be here so there will be no match. Tommy Rogers comes out and says that he’s travelled a thousand miles and isn’t going to wrestle anyone? Golden pokes him in the chest and Rogers responds with a punch and the two start fighting, ending up in the ring. With the Fulton’s cheering on from the outside, they’re joined by the Wild Bunch and all six go at it. The Fantastics (Bobby & Jackie Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs The Wild Bunch (Billy Black & Joel Deaton) & Jimmy Golden - very good short match and would’ve been great if they’d been given longer. INT: Jimmy Golden INT: Dutch Mantel INT: Bob Armstrong - as the Koloffs run off on their match with the Fantastics, he’s fining them $500 and they won’t be allowed to wrestle in the tag team tournament until they pay it. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired March 14, 1992 Knoxville Civic Coliseum, Knoxville, TN Hector Guerrero vs T.J. Travis INT: Danny Davis INT: The Fantastics - they’re back from Japan and ready for their six-man tag match with Jimmy Golden and the Koloffs. Their six-man partner they know well, but they aren’t going to say who it is, they’ll only find out when they step in the ring with them next week. Ivan & Vladimir Koloff & Jimmy Golden vs Rocky Patterson & Reno Riggins & Ben Jordan INT: Ivan & Vladimir Koloff & Jimmy Golden Recap of Bob Armstrong banning Ron Wright from ringside from last week INT: Ron Wright - says it was a disgrace Bob Armstrong coming out here and trying to assault a crippled man, he thought that he was a better man than that. Claims that it’ll take a smarter man than Bob Armstrong to outsmart the smartest man in the wrestling business, and he’s got a man that’s coming out to wrestle under contract. He is going to accompany him to the ring and show these people what rasslin’ and managing is all about. Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) vs Rikki Nelson INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony - Wright confirms that Anthony has signed on the dotted line and will make his trips to the hospital a success. He says that he may even need open heart surgery, but with the Dirty White Boy that will all be possible. Anthony can’t believe that none of the wrestlers would step up to help such a great legend as Ron Wright, whilst Ron says he’ll be out of the wheelchair in no time after the surgery. INT: Bob Holly - wants to clear up a few rumours from the Enquirer. No he didn’t break up Julia Roberts’ wedding plans and no he isn’t flying to Hawaii to marry her, they are just good friends and you can’t believe everything you read! Killer Kyle vs Jerry Lynn Recap of Terry Gordy vs Tommy Angel from last week INT: Terry Gordy Recap of Rip Rogers’ free squat challenge from last week INT: Rip Rogers - says that Tim Horner owes him $500 because he did what he said he’d do, and that was squats for a full hour. Rip Rogers vs Tim Horner - Dutch Mantel claims that if this goes 20-25 minutes Rogers would win because of his conditioning. Caudle then says that it is TV time remaining and that they don’t have that long left. Mantel thinks that it’s a conspiracy by Bob Armstrong, putting the match on late to save his little fair haired friend. INT: Bob Armstrong - says that before Jim Cornette enters a team in this tournament, which starts next week, he wants to know who they are. Cornette joins him and again says that he is saving them for the tournament, but as he is a charitable guy, next week he’ll have a video of his new team who will be the tag team champions. 1992-03-07-SMW-TV

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired March 7, 1992 Knoxville Civic Coliseum, Knoxville, TN INT: Dutch Mantel - his friend Carl Styles is going to put an end to Brian Lee today. He’s still a little under the weather but will be in Styles’ corner nonetheless. INT: Rip Rogers - claims to be the most well-conditioned man in SMW and will do free squats for the duration of the show to prove it. Bob Holly vs Joey Maggs INT: Tim Horner - he’s interrupted immediately by Rip Rogers who says that it’s his interview time, that he’s doing free squats for an hour and that no-one wants to hear from a hillbilly. Horner then bets him that he can’t do squats for a full hour. Terry Gordy vs Tommy Angel INT: Terry Gordy INT: Danny Davis INT: Bob Armstrong INT Bob Armstrong - says that the Heavyweight title tournament is in the works and two weeks from tonight the tag team tournament will start. He’s having a problem with Ron Wright though and shows clips of Wright interfering in matches from the past few weeks. He says that Wright has a manager’s license so there is nothing he can do, but he has no right to come down to the ring when neither man is under contract to him and is therefore banning Wright from ringside unless he has a contract with someone. Wright then comes out and says that he can’t believe Armstrong is trying to mistreat a poor, crippled old man and that he’s one of the most upstanding, gentleman wrestlers ever who has never harmed anyone. Armstrong grabs the mic and says he’s not buying that garbage, others may, but he’s been around him for more than twenty years, has seen him wrestle, seen him maim and cripple guys and he has a scar on his head so he isn’t fooling him. He is standing by his decision that unless Wright gets a contract with someone he’s barred from ringside and he’s barred from this! Wright tries to argue the decision and says that if he wasn’t in this chair, but Armstrong just wheels him off the set whist Wright continues to remonstrate. Hilarious stuff from both. INT: Jerry Williams INT: Paul Orndorff - wants to know why he can’t use the piledriver whilst others can use their moves? Paul Orndorff vs Barry Horowitz - Horowitz is really good again. Rip Rogers is still doing his squats INT: Jim Cornette - Mr ‘stick his nose in everybody’s business’ Armstrong assaults a cripple and tells him it’s not fair to have a mystery team in the tournament? He says that if he revealed their identity, every man in this part of the country would hang his head in shame, move out of the area and it would create socio and economic calamity and financial upheaval. Whilst as far as the tournament goes, it would be decimated as every wrestler would be diving out they would be so scared. He does say however that his team are sexier than Madonna’s last video, more dangerous than dinner at Jeffrey Dahmer’s and that they will be the tag team champions. INT: Dutch Mantel & Carl Styles Rip Rogers is continuing to do his squats Carl Styles (w/ Dutch Mantel) vs Brian Lee INT: Jim Cornette - repeat from 2/8 INT: Terry Gordy - repeat from 2/8 INT: Jim Cornette - claims his tag team is going to reign supreme in SMW Rip Rogers is doing his squats, when Tim Horner asks Bob Caudle to see how much time he has left. Caudle turns his back to check, Horner kicks the chair away and Rogers falls to the floor. Caudle turns back round to see him down and declares that he didn’t quite make the full hour as the time was 59:30. Horner just leaves, whilst Rogers then continues to do more squats. Continental Wrestling Association TV Aired January 31, 1981 (Louisville Feed) INT: Austin Idol - says that there is a conspiracy against him and includes footage of himself vs Jerry Lawler from MSC to back up these claims where he states that referee Jerry Calhoun deliberately grabbed his arm, tripped him and fast counted him in the match. He says that Jimmy Hart was up on the ring apron when he shouldn’t have been, and that all three of them are in it together as Lawler and Calhoun are football buddies, whilst Lawler got Hart his start in the wrestling business and that his band the Gentry’s backed Lawler. He says that it’s also funny how Hart was in the corner every time that Dream Machine, Paul Ellering and he lost to Lawler. Idol then challenges him to a match, but with Hart banned from ringside and Calhoun as not the referee. INT: Jerry Lawler INT: Hector Guerrero - includes footage of last week where Jimmy Valiant defeated him for the Southern title. Valiant hits Guerrero with a foreign object before the match begins. Koko Ware and Eddie Gilbert come out to help Guerrero up and whilst Valiant is trying to signal for the bell so he can be named champion, Guerrero still wants to fight and the match begins. INT: Jimmy Valiant & Jimmy Hart Highlights of Jerry Lawler’s last three matches at the MSC against Jimmy Hart’s various henchmen (Dream Machine, Paul Ellering and Ausin Idol). INT: Jerry Lawler - after defeating Austin Idol last week he won Jimmy Hart’s Gold record, which he is going to drop it in the Mississippi river. Hart has Jos LeDuc to face Lawler this week and the stipulations are that if LeDuc loses, Hart will get lashed with a strap ten times. Hart doesn’t have to take ten as he can say "I give up" at any time, however if he says this, he is gone from wrestling. Bounty Hunters (Jerry & David Novak) (w/ Jimmy Kent) vs Koko Ware & Eddie Gilbert Clips of Jos LeDuc’s blood oath interview from years back and a clip of when LeDuc injured Jerry Lawler by throwing him over the top on to the timekeepers table.
