He then joins Lance Russell at the commentary position. INT: Killer Karl Krupp & Jimmy Hart - they are not happy that Tommy Gilbert is out seconding Eddie Gilbert. Hart says that Tommy doesn’t have a manager’s license, shouldn’t be out there, and therefore Krupp refuses to wrestle. Killer Karl Krupp (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs Eddie Gilbert (w/ Tommy Gilbert) - Krupp is counted out immediately as he refused to get in the ring. INT: Killer Karl Krupp & Jimmy Hart - they are celebrating the fact that Jerry Lawler has gone, and are drinking champagne. Krupp claims he knew what he was doing in their match, and says that with his knowledge of broken bones, he knew that the longer the match went on, the more damage would occur to Lawler’s leg, and that is what happened. He then challenges Billy Robinson, but he says Krupp doesn’t deserve a title shot after just beating a man with a broken leg. Krupp then throws champagne over him, as he and Hart start laughing. Krupp’s best work so far. Tom Stanton & Frank Savage vs Carl Fergie & David McGee INT: Killer Karl Krupp & Jimmy Hart - incl clips of the post-match from the Jerry Lawler vs Jimmy Hart match that took place at the MSC, where Krupp came out to help Hart, who after being beaten up by the King, left on a stretcher. Krupp challenges Lawler to face him in a match with any stipulations that he wants. INT: Jerry Lawler - says he is not going to let Killer Karl Krupp goad him into a match as his leg hasn’t healed enough to wrestle, as he couldn’t even beat Bub Smith at the moment! Lou Thesz vs David Oswald INT: Bill Dundee - is joined by Dr Bill Irwin who says that Dundee has never beaten him and never will. Irwin then challenges Dundee, by saying if he thinks he can beat him then get in the ring now and face me. Dr Bill Irwin vs Bill Dundee - Gypsy Joe interferes and attacks Dundee for the DQ. They then double team him and bust him open, until Tojo Yamamoto complete with Hawaiian shirt and throwing deadly chops makes the save. Dr Bill Irwin vs David McGee Bill Dundee vs Kenny Shane Tommy Rich vs Paul Ellering (jip, from MSC) INT: Tommy Rich - claims that he didn’t piledrive Paul Ellering in their match at the Mid-South Coliseum, he just used his new hold ‘The Brainbuster’, that he learned on his travels. He then claims that he is the new King of Memphis, and that Jerry Lawler wont have the guts to wrestle him. Continental Wrestling Association TV Aired August 23, 1980 (Louisville Feed) INT: Jerry Lawler - he gives an update on his broken leg and the further complications he is facing, and then joins Lance Russell & Dave Brown for commentary. INT: Jimmy Valiant - he tells Jerry Lawler that it is time to let bygones be bygones, and he wishes him a quick recovery. Jimmy Valiant vs David Oswald INT: Bill Dundee, Jimmy Valiant INT: Dr Bill Irwin Dr Bill Irwin vs Tony Boyles INT: Eddie Gilbert - challenges to Killer Karl Krupp Eddie Gilbert vs Mike Meroni - match never starts as Killer Karl Krupp comes out and attacks Gilbert with a cane. Tommy Gilbert then comes out to help his son, which leads to El Mongol & Jimmy Hart getting involved. Eventually a bunch of refs and wrestlers including Jerry Bryant, Carl Fergie and Tony Boyles get them separated. INT: Killer Karl Krupp - he wants both generations of Gilberts in his Iron Claw and demands a match now. Tommy Rich vs Bill Dundee INT: Tommy Rich - says that Dundee was only playing possum in their match, like he has done in the past, and there is nothing wrong with him. Also states that he has made a name for himself fighting all over America, and is now going to win the Southern belt, and then the World title. He says that he is now doing things for himself, and calls Jerry Lawler a ‘has-been’, continues to provoke him, and then pushes him over. Good stuff. Lance Russell explains that the tape has been reviewed, and that referee Jerry Calhoun was negligent in his officiating, and that both men, not just Bill Dundee, should have been counted out. National Wrestling Alliance World Championship Wrestling Aired June 17, 1989 Civic Center, Augusta, GA Dynamic Dudes vs Snake Brown & The Raider INT: Ric Flair - sit down interview with Jim Ross. Flair is sporting a neck brace and says that he’ll make an announcement on his career on 7/1. If he’s not 100% then he wont come back and they’ll take the title from him. Terry Funk vs Cougar Jay INT: Terry Funk - tells Ric Flair to give up the belt or he’ll put his neck out one more time. Rick & Scott Steiner (w/ Missy Hyatt) vs Fred Avery & Keith Steinborn - prior to the match Rick again gives his fan his Letterman jacket. Jim Ross on commentary later mentions that he’s her boyfriend and that her name is Robin Greene. INT: Paul E. Dangerously - he declares war on the Road Warriors and Paul Ellering Samoan Swat Team (w/ Paul E. He brings in Steve Williams, Cornette saying that they all have something in common, in that no-one trusts them and they have no friends. He says that Kevin Sullivan betrayed Williams and that Terry Gordy jumped him from behind and that as tough as he is, he can’t fight three Freebirds and that they’ll be looking out for each other. Sting vs Al Greene - after the match Terry Funk comes to ringside and gets in the ring as though he is about to attack Sting, however he just gets out the other side and leaves. National Wrestling Alliance World Championship Wrestling Aired June 10, 1989 Center Stage, Atlanta, GA Ranger Ross vs Jim Bryant - Teddy Long is at ringside scouting Ross Clip of Missy Hyatt confronting Gary Hart, Great Muta and Kevin Sullivan where Muta blows the mist in her eyes. As she is on the floor screaming, Scott Steiner and Doug Gilbert come to help her. Great Muta (w/ Gary Hart) vs Ray Lloyd Dick Murdoch vs Fred Avery INT: Dick Murdoch - Jim Ross is trying to find out what is going on in Terry Funk’s mind. Midnight Express (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Lee Scott & Keith Steinborn - Teddy Long comes out to ringside to watch the Midnights. INT: Paul E. Dangerously INT: Terry Funk (from earlier this week) - he has cracked the Top 10 (at no. 10) and will face the number one ranked contender, Ricky Steamboat, at the Clash. Steamboat then comes out to confront him. Lex Luger shows up at the Center Stage commentary position asking them to cut the tape. He is irate that he isn’t on the Clash card and says that as US champion, he should be the number one contender. He says that Steamboat "snuck in" to get the gold whilst he was busy with the US title, has had his chance, and should now step aside and that he’ll be at the Clash whether the powers like it or not. After Luger leaves a Steamboat interview from earlier in the week airs and he says that Funk should be happy he is in the Top 10 and wrestling the number one contender like himself. Great stuff. INT: Kevin Sullivan Kevin Sullivan & Mike Rotunda vs Dewayne Bruce & Mark Smith - the Varsity Club continue to attack the jobbers after the match until the Steiners make the save and the two teams brawl INT: Bill Irwin Bill Irwin vs Mike Justice Dynamic Dudes vs New Zealand Militia (Rip Morgan & Jack Victory) Samoan Swat Team (w/ Paul E. Dangerously) vs Randy Rose & Bucky Siegler INT: Jim Cornette INT: Teddy Long - says that he will be unveiling two surprises at the Clash; one will be Norman, the other is no-one else's business Rick & Scott Steiner vs The Raider & Snake Brown - prior to thie match Rick gives his fan his Letterman jacket. Funk says that Flair has a bad stomach because he has lost his guts and that he has a bad back because he has a yellow streak running down it. Sting comes out to confront Funk and Funk challenges him. They have a short, hot brawl and a bunch of jobbers try to pull them apart. Another great Funk section. Kevin Sullivan vs Tom Pittner - prior to the match Sullivan gets in the face of Rick Steiner’s fan shouting at her, then ripping up her poster and leaving her in tears. Great angle and Sullivan and Nancy are excellent here. Scott Hall music video ‘James Bond' theme Great Muta (w/ Gary Hart) vs Steve Casey Midnight Express (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Butch Reed & The Raider - it was supposed to be Bob Orton Jr. teaming with Reed, but as soon as he got to ringside he was jumped by Dick Murdoch and they brawled to the back. Teddy Long then comes down and says that he’ll find a partner for Reed and gets him The Raider Bold matches are PWO recommended

Dangerously) vs Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) (from Asheville, NC) INT: Lex Luger - re. the Badstreet match he has signed on for with Michael Hayes. He says that he is sick and tired of playing by the rules and as this match has no rules it is right up his street. Scott Steiner (w/ Rick Steiner & Missy Hyatt) vs Jack Victory - prior to this match Rick’s fan gives him a teddy bear. Teddy Long joins the commentary position and says no-one is to call his friend Norman a lunatic and that no-one is to boo him. Samoan Swat Team (w/ Paul E. Dangerously) vs Ron Simmons & Ranger Ross - Teddy Long is out scouting Simmons and appears to be trying to sign him to a contract. Simmons ends up walking out on Ross leaving him to face both Samoans alone. INT: Jim Cornette - announces that he and the Midnight Express are coming back to the NWA INT: Dr Estwanik (Ric Flair’s physician) - he gives an update on Flair’s condition INT: Terry Funk - says that he spoke to Ric Flair’s attorney and offered to pay for his round trip so that he can come to the show next week and let everyone see the extent of his injuries. He said that the attorney confirmed that Flair will be here next week. Bold matches are PWO recommended
  22. Guests for the Q & A are Raven, Shane Douglas, Kid Kash and Terry Funk. Bill Apter hosts it and typically graces us with his Funk impression. Scott Hall makes a drunken cameo towards the end of the disc and Rob Feinstein (who is not hosting this) constantly pipes up from the crowd. Bad feedback with the mics means they ditch them and the audio is pretty low. Didn’t care for this myself and if you have seen the shoots that these guys did previously you will not learn much new from this one.

  24. An in depth look into ROH and what would have happened if Sapolsky had not been fired. If you are into booking, this is an excellent watch as Sapolsky explains how he would have booked everything, who would have gotten pushes, how he would have pushed them etc. Also talks about a few new ideas he had in the pipeline. At times was a bit too much for me, but all in all an enjoyable watch.
