Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired September 25, 1993 Garden High School, Oakwood, VA Jim Cornette is going to pick the name of the opponent for Robert Gibson in today’s ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title match. He picks out a name but doesn’t like it so choses another. He continues to do this until he finds a name he likes, the ‘Dirty White Boy’ Tony Anthony, before having the audacity to claim it was chosen all fair and square. Bobby Blaze vs Robbie Eagle INT: Chris Candido - says that lousy, cheap hub cap that Bobby Blaze has got round his waist should not be recognized by Smoky Mountain Wrestling! It’s not a real championship like his is a real championship. He’s going to beat Bobby Blaze at the Parade of Champions within an inch of his life and then throw that belt in the river. Just as importantly he’s going to have a match on the show today and will get this bonnet off his head once and for all. Jim Cornette says to make sure that he gets a fair shake today he’s going to be the special referee and will make sure that everything is all above board. Bob Armstrong vs The Black Ninja (w/ Jim Cornette) (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - so Jim Cornette’s ‘secret weapon’ is just a generic masked man? After promising it could be anyone, including anyone from the WWF, this is an almighty anti-climax. The Bullet has the Ninja in a sleeper when Cornette gets in the ring and is about to hit him with the tennis racket, but Mark Curtis grabs it and stops him. Armstrong turns his focus to Cornette and puts him in the sleeper while the Ninja just walks round the ring and doesn’t appear to be overly concerned! Armstrong goes back to the Ninja and again puts him in the sleeper while Curtis tries to get Cornette out of the ring. A second Black Ninja shows up and comes off the top turnbuckle with a shot to Armstrong’s head. He rolls the original Ninja out the ring, makes the cover and Curtis counts the fall meaning Bullet Bob Armstrong must leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever. An interesting note here from the Observer is that the respective Ninja’s were Larry Santo and Brian Armstrong. INT: Jim Cornette - he says that when everyone saw that the Black Ninja was Bob Armstrong’s opponent they thought Jim Cornette was crazy, but he was crazy like a fox. Now Bullet Bob is back pumping gas, lubing cars, sweeping out toilets and doing manual labour instead of bothering people in Smoky Mountain. He’s gone and he’s gone for good and he can’t wait to see the look on all these redneck morons faces around the area when they realise their saviour, their idol, the great ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong isn’t coming back because Jim Cornette eliminated him from the picture. INT: Scott Armstrong & Ricky Morton INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette has finally convinced those stingy WWF officials to let him have a copy of the videotape, as they were ashamed and embarrassed and didn’t want the people round here to see how they got ripped off in Detroit at Summerslam. He plays the tape and we see the final six minutes of the match (there is a nice touch of consitency with Cornette wearing the neck brace to sell the piledrivers he received from Bob Armstrong at the K-Town Showdown). Cornette claims the Steiners cheated them in a number of ways: they had the hometown advantage, they had a referee from Detroit, they had 20,000 fans there screaming their lungs out so that the Bodies couldn’t hear his signals and finally both Steiners made the cover to pin Jimmy Del Ray and the referee counted anyway! They didn’t leave it there and just take it though, they jumped in on another WWF TV taping and gave the Steiners a taste of what the Heavenly Bodies can do. Cornette says that the Steiners were left lying face down, beaten up and broken, and now they’re coming down to Smoky Mountain Wrestling at the Parade of Champions to get some revenge. The very next match that the Steiners wrestled they lost the WWF tag team titles and that was because they took so much out of them and because the Heavenly Bodies beat them up so bad that they had their minds on them and couldn’t think about anything else. They lost their belts and they blame us! At the Parade of Champions they’re going to find out that anything can happen in Smoky Mountain, but the only thing he is upset about is that they’re bringing Arnold the pitbull down to ringside with them. Jim Cornette Guest Referee: Chris Candido vs Dark Secret - they have the lightest match you could imagine, almost a parody of a match, whilst Dutch Mantel is selling it for all he’s worth. Tim Horner joins Dutch on commentary and says that this is a travesty. Dutch tells him that he’s taking his livelihood into his own hands, he could be fined, suspended or even fired for coming out here unsolicited. Candido gets the ‘win’ and he can finally remove the baby bonnet. INT: Jim Cornette & Chris Candido & Tim Horner - Cornette says that was the toughest match of Chris Candido’s career, but he finally got that baby bonnet off his head. He tells Horner that if he touches him he’ll fine him $50,000, but Horner says he’ll gladly pay that $50,000 (not sure how Horner has that kind of money) and Cornette gets behind Candido again reiterating that was a legitimate match he just had. Les Thatcher interrupts them and he’s here on behalf of the SMW Board of Directors. The Directors have said that the TV tapings can’t continue like this and he has some special correspondence for Jim Cornette. Cornette and Candido think it’s a promotion, but he’s been impeached. “How can they impeach him, he’s the boss?” Dutch says “No, no, no,” before quickly wondering if the letter says anything about him. Dutch are Cornette are great here. Down & Dirty w/ Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Ron Wright - before Dutch brings them out we get some video comments from Sherri Martel. She says that Tammy Fytch has been known to interfere a little in Brian Lee’s matches and give him some type of glove. Well when she sees her at the Parade of Champions and shows her what wrestling is all about, the only thing she will want to do is go back to books at Wellesley College. When she gets through with her she’s not going to bother anyone in Smoky Mountain Wrestling ever again (think this was the basic gist of what she was talking about. The interview was all over the place talking about wearing gloves, the 4th of July, putting on bras and strutting around etc). Back on the set and Dutch says that he’s nervous right now (about his prospects with Cornette no longer in charge). Fytch claims that Sherri is nothing but an ex-convict and that Tracey Smothers has less hair on his legs than she does! Sherri’s like a gorilla. She’s not a lady she’s a man, like a truck driver! She hates Tracey Smothers and hopes he gets into an accident and decapitated, then his head rolls down the road and a truck flattens it out! Lee tells her not to go worrying about an accident as next time Smothers steps in the ring with him it’ll be the biggest accident of his life. Dutch asks Ron how he is doing and just as he is about to answer Tammy pipes in and says he’s just fine, he looks healthy, is getting his medicine on time and is happy. Wright says that he is, but is wondering how the Dirty White Boy is doing as he hasn’t seen him in sometime. Tammy tells him not to worry about the Dirty White Boy as he is fine and that it’s now time for them to go. INT: Tracey Smothers - says that Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch are real worried as he has Sensational Sherri in his corner, a woman who wrote the book on dirty deeds. Sherri is going to take care of Tammy Fytch and he taught Brian Lee everything he knows, but didn’t teach him everything Tracey Smothers knows. He doesn’t care about the Dirty White Boy and Ron Wright’s troubles, all he is concerned with is getting the SMW Heavyweight title back where it belongs, round his waist. Bruise Brothers vs Gator McAllister & Jason West - Les Thatcher on commentary says that Bob Caudle is currently vacationing in Europe, but he has been rehired by Smoky Mountain Wrestling and will be back in a few weeks. Dutch Mantel now claims to have missed him a lot and hated working with Jim Cornette! INT: Bruise Brothers - they say that they are the number one tag team in wrestling today. Jim Cornette was unhappy with them and didn’t like the way they were conducting themselves in the ring, well they’ve just taken care of business and should be the ones in line for the Rock & Roll Express. They’ve a point to prove and anyone who gets in the ring with them they’re going to smash 1-2-3 because no-one can do it like they can. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette Robert Gibson vs Tony Anthony - the Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette come out to ringside during the match. Cornette distracts Mark Curtis and the Bodies pull down the top rope and Gibson takes a fall over it to the floor. They roll him back into the ring and the Dirty White Boy covers him to once again be the ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title holder. Ricky Morton runs out and attacks the Bodies until he gets overwhelmed and beaten down. Scott Armstrong comes out with a chair and sees off the Bodies and goes to check on Morton. Gibson comes round, sees Scott over Ricky with a chair and shoves him, thinking that he’s the one who attacked him. Scott tells him that he didn’t do anything as the two of them continue to argue. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired December 25, 1993 Ash Central High School, Jefferson, NC As Dutch Mantel is about to draw today’s ‘Beat the Champ’ challenger, Chris Candido approaches him and says here’s that $200 back that he lent him. Dutch is not too sure what’s going on at first until the penny drops, he has a root around in his hat, and today’s challenger is….Chris Candido! “What a coincidence” says Dutch, whilst Bob Caudle smells a rat. Bobby Blaze vs Paul Lee - Dutch likes people who pay their bills especially if they owe him money. Bob can’t believe he would take money to do something like that, while Dutch maintains that it was all above board fair and square. INT: Daryl Van Horn - Bob Caudle says how Bobby Blaze has made his name with upsets and he may just pull off another against the Prince. Van Horn wants all the Smoky Mountain rednecks to come in from out of the barn, stop fondling the livestock and turn up their TV’s as he’s going to talk about how Bobby Blaze will be the next soul to fall at the hands of Prince Kharis. Bobby Blaze is from Kentucky, meaning he’s the lowest form of filth on the planet. He’s had his career being known as an underdog, the big high school star who pulled off the upset victories, well he’s not in high school anymore. All of the wishing, all of the high hopes and support from this poor white trash he calls his fan base will not prevent Prince Kharis from crushing him at Christmas Chaos. Personality Profile: Tracey Smothers INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl - the White Boy is still fuming about what happened to the Dirty White Girl last week and it’s not the first time Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch have put their hands on her, it’s time and again, “well no more.” It’s not a threat at Christmas Chaos, it’s a promise and he’s coming straight for Brian Lee. Tracey Smothers comes out here and says that he doesn’t like him, that they’re even Steven. That’s fine as he’s not concerned with that, the only thing he’s concerned with is coming out of Christmas Chaos as the new SMW Heavyweight champion. He asks the Dirty White Girl if she has anything to say and it appears her mind goes blank as she says she’s so mad she can’t think of anything. She then remembers a bit and promises Fytch that the next time she meets her, she won’t be walking out of the ring, somebody will be carrying her out. Bruise Brothers vs Larry Santo & Rock Regal Recap of The Moondogs and the Bruise Brothers from last week INT: Bruise Brothers - they say the Moondogs had their fun, but they’re going to have theirs at Christmas Chaos. Down & Dirty w/ Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Dutch opens today’s episode by recapping Lee & Fytch’s attack on the Dirty White Girl from last week and when Tracey Smothers made the save for her. Dutch speculates that the Dirty White Boy and Tracey Smothers seem more concerned with each other and that Brian Lee may very well be the forgotten man in this Triple Threat match. Lee agrees and doesn’t know if the two of them are going to kiss and make up or stab each other in the back. They are overlooking him and when they step in the ring one man’s coming out victorious, that him, and the first lady will walk back down the aisle with the champion. Tammy says that the Dirty White Girl looks so good now, she looks like the street corner slut she always said she was! She tried to help her out of the goodness of her heart, gave her some beauty and make-up tips, but she doesn’t look any better than that clown she saw at the circus last week. Lee tells Fytch that she has nothing to worry about this week as he’s walking in the champion and walking out the champion. INT: Dick Murdoch - he’s out with his lady friend looking at houses, although the woman is a bit concerned about whether they’re going to pay him enough to be able to afford one. He tells her not to worry about is as when Mama Cornette calls him she pays him, when Mama Cornette tells the big man to come there’s money on the line, and all for just going to Tennessee to whip Bob Armstrong. The only other person Mama Cornette calls to get things done is her son, but when she wants a man’s job done she calls the big man, Captain Redneck. They find a house they like and Murdoch tells Armstrong to get ready because this is their Christmas present and when Mama Cornette calls and offers him the money, he gets on Delta Airlines and goes where he is needed. Bob Armstrong may be fooling all those hillbillies in Tennessee because he’s under a mask, but when Jim Cornette called him, told him and asked him if he was interested in coming? Bingo, he’s on his way and Armstrong’s days are numbered. These have been really fun and especially like Murdoch referring to himself as ‘the big man’. INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette says that this weekend at Christmas Chaos either one of two things is going to take place. Either ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong is going to have that sock pulled off his face and have his true identity revealed, or he’s going to be balder than a cue ball. Cornette is almost in tears at the prospect as the crowd chant “baldy” at him. He doesn’t know what’s going to happen, but Dick Murdoch has a shot at The Bullet every night of the Christmas Chaos tour and he’s going to leave no stone unturned because he’s paying him real well. He’s going to get The Bullet out of his hair once and for all and Bob Armstrong’s stinking carcass won’t darken the doorsteps of Smoky Mountain ever again. As bad as Armstrong wants to humiliate him, he wants to humiliate him just as much. He wants to see all those people who love him abandon him, he wants to see him left a broken man and Dick Murdoch is the man to do it for him. Talking of broken men he wants to take a look at what they did to that dumb jock Mike Furnas last week and gets them to play the tape. Prichard tells them that they’re stepping into a different playing field altogether and while they may be really good when it comes to grass and dust, when they get them down on the mat they’ll find that they’re not so big and tough after all. Del Ray says that football is one thing, but what they do is a whole different sport. Doug may wrestle in Japan, but that’s because he is so bad that he can’t make it in the U.S. Cornette then goes off on what is a typical University of Tennessee football player - the kind of guy who stays up all night studying for a urine test, the kind of guy that wins a gold medal and gets it bronzed, the kind of guy that wins a letter in football and has to have someone read it to them - and says that all of those apply to the Mike and Doug Furnas. At the Christmas Chaos they’re going to expose the University of Tennessee for what it is. INT: Tim Horner - says that he was injured at the hands of Prince Kharis at Thanksgiving Thunder and his career is on hold for a while as he’s under doctor’s care. He hates to be out of a job and Smoky Mountain Wrestling have offered him a position working with the wrestling camp and made him event coordinator in the Cookeville area. Tracey Smothers vs Chris Candido - Bob Caudle is still casting aspersion on Dutch and how this match came about. The match goes to a time limit draw but was only five minutes in duration. I don’t think anything was cut out so it must’ve been TV time remaining. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired September 18, 1993 Garden High School, Oakwood, VA Dutch Mantel is in his tuxedo and introduces the new Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Jim Cornette. Cornette announces that ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong is unemployed, so is ‘Bullet’ Bob Caudle after all those smart alec comments he made about him, and he and Dutch will be running the show today. Bob Armstrong vs Terry Funk (w/ Jim Cornette) (jip, from Knoxville, TN) - Armstrong has the sleeper on Funk and Cornette beckons for help from the back. Out comes Tom Prichard and Armstrong lets go of the sleeper and goes after him. Scott Armstrong comes out to counter Prichard’s interference, but in turn is followed by one of the Bruise Brothers, Ricky Morton, Jimmy Del Ray, Brian Armstrong, the other Bruise Brother and finally Robert Gibson. Big stomp to the chest of Funk by The Bullet and he goes for the pin. Cornette gets involved and prepares to nail him with his tennis racket but he sees him coming and gets in first with a low blow. Armstrong pulls off Cornette’s neck brace and is about to piledrive him when Funk hits him with the branding iron (Mark Curtis is distracted by everyone fighting at ringside) and covers him for the pin and win. The match was overbooked with all those run ins (after the second you knew how it was going) which were unnecessary. Don’t know why Cornette didn’t just limit it to the Bodies interfering and the Armstrong boys saving their father, really no need to get the Bruise Brothers and the Rock & Rolls involved. The action between Bob and Funk was good, but no surprise whatsoever that this didn’t end cleanly. INT: Jim Cornette & Terry Funk - dressing room interview. Cornette can’t thank Funk enough and it was worth every penny of his mama’s money to get this Commissioner’s cap on his head. Funk is so happy that he could come up with that victory over Armstrong as he’s got the brains of a jackass, the speaking ability of stuttering Sam and it’s a wonderful thing to do all these moronic fools of Tennessee a favour by defeating that imbecile and has been Bob Armstrong. Cornette says that now he’s running things, Smoky Mountain Wrestling is going to be a little different, while Funk confirms that for the right price he would only be too willing to help out Jim Cornette again if he has any more problems that need sorting out. Back in the studio and Jim Cornette reiterates that there are going to be lots of changes in SMW. A lot of deals have already been made and contracts already signed so he can’t change everything over night, but while he’s running the show there will be change. Video of the Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette jumping Rick & Scott Steiner at a WWF TV taping - Cornette powders Scott and the three of them put a beating on the Steiners with Cornette’s racket also getting plenty of use INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - Cornette says how everyone says that the Steiners are the biggest, baddest, roughest, toughest team in all of wrestling, the big WWF superstars, and here are a couple of guys who laid them out on their faces and made them eat canvas and dirt. That’s what Rick & Scott Steiner are, that’s what the state of Michigan is, that’s what the WWF is and that’s what everyone who isn’t associated with Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies are, dirt. Prichard says that you don’t cross the Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette and walk away from it and if they had any guts they would have signed another match immediately. They never, so they took it upon themselves to show the Steiners who the real World tag team champions are and left them laying in the ring. Cornette says that the beating they took at the hands of the Bodies took so much out of them that the very next time they stepped in the ring they lost the WWF tag title belts. It’s been playing on their mind so much that they’ve even been crying on videotape and then plays an interview from them. Scott says that the Bodies and Cornette went too far by putting powder in his eyes and he still has the welts on his back from where Jim Cornette hit him with his tennis racket. Well they’re coming to Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the Heavenly Bodies back yard, and are going to do what they do best and that is beat people up. Cornette tells the Steiners that he had a few dealings with them in WCW and every time they ended up on the wrong end of the deal but now he has the greatest tag team combination he’s ever managed. They left them laying, caused them to lose their belts, caused them embarrassment and humiliation and they think that they’re going to come to their back yard and get something over on them? The Heavenly Bodies have the Steiners number and always will have. This isn’t the WWF with all those doctors at ringside, anything can happen in Smoky Mountain. Come to the Parade of Champions and see if you can handle the Heavenly Bodies, but as the tape showed earlier, they don’t think they can. INT: Tony Anthony - he’s looking for Ron Wright but he hasn’t seen him for three days and doesn’t know where he’s at. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express (jip, from Morristown, TN) - double dropkick to one of the twins and Mark Curtis tries to usher Ricky Morton back outside the ring. Cornette gets up on the apron distracting Robert Gibson and allowing the twins to switch places. Gibson is unaware and gets nailed with a big clothesline for a near fall. Cornette is back on the apron remonstrating with Curtis, another double dropkick, Curtis shoves Cornette down, counts the pin and the Rock & Rolls Express are once again the tag team champions. Huge ovation for the win and only the ending aired, but the more these two work together the better the matches are and the twins look. INT: Bruise Brothers & Jim Cornette - Cornette says how only the Rock & Roll Express could win the tag team belts in the middle of his most successful week ever. He tells the Bruise Brothers that they let him down, have been spending far too much time listening to Kevin Sullivan since he was laid up, and not enough time paying attention to what he told them. He’s sending the Heavenly Bodies after the Rock & Rolls as they are a proven commodity and the Bruise Brothers are on double secret probation. They need to get their stuff together and if there is no further action of this type, then they will be back in good standing with the organization. Chris Candido vs Robbie Eagle - Candido has the match won with the Suicideplex but then spots Tim Horner at ringside wearing his feather boa and WWA title belt. He gets out the ring and chases after him only to be counted out. As a result, he must continue to wear the baby bonnet for another week at least. INT: Chris Candido - he can’t believe what is happening to him. He asks Jim Cornette as he is Commissioner can’t he do something? Two weeks in a row this has happened to him! Cornette says that he’ll take care of it and will do everything in his power to make sure that he doesn’t have to wear it any longer than necessary. Down & Dirty w/ Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says his hat’s off to the Bruise Brothers as they are one of the toughest teams they’ve ever faced, but they have proved one more time that they are the better tag team. He does feel a little bad about something though and invites Scott Armstrong to come out as the Armstrong’s themselves had title matches scheduled against the Bruise Brothers. Scott joins them and Ricky says he knows how they had matches signed against the Bruise Brothers and after all they helped each other do, thinks it’s only fair that they should be the number one contenders and get the first shot at the belts. Scott is happy for the Rock & Rolls and if he and Steve can’t have the belts, he’d just as soon those boys had them. He appreciates them giving him the title shot and is more than happy to accept their offer. When they say that it is going to be a good, clean, scientific match Dutch doesn’t quite believe them and is maybe setting the motions for a heel turn by one of the teams. Tracey Smothers vs Gator McAllister INT: Tracey Smothers - says his knee is holding up real good and it feels great to be back in the South. His father always told him that if you want to catch a snake get a mongoose, well he’s got the biggest mongoose around; ‘Sensational’ Sherri Martel is coming to Smoky Mountain Wrestling to be in his corner and she’s forgotten more tricks than Tammy Fytch will ever know. A video interview from Sherri airs and she is excited about coming to SMW for the Parade of Champions after receiving a phone call from Smothers telling her that he was having some problems with Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch. There is not another woman in the world that loves to get in as much trouble as she does, and there is not another woman in the world that would love to stand side by side to the ‘Wild Eyed Southern Boy’ as much as she would. She tells Fytch that she can be at ringside dressed all pretty, but she invented mean and there is nothing that she won’t do to stand by her friend. Decent little promo from Sherri who looks great. Smothers has a big smile on his face in the studio and he knows that Sherri is going to protect her ‘Wild Eyed Southern Boy’. He hasn’t forgotten about the Dirty White Boy and will get to him later, but Brian Lee has that belt that he never really lost. It always took two of them to whip one of him, but by the good grace of God and with Sensational Sherri in his corner he’s going to be the SMW Heavyweight champion for a third time. INT: Bobby Blaze - he’s the new U.S. Jr. Heavyweight champion after winning a tournament that was held by Big Time Championship Wrestling in Columbus, OH. They invited talent from all over the country and he came out on top and is now going to defend the title in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. He is interrupted by Chris Candido and he’s not happy that SMW are going to recognize that piece of junk over his beautiful World title. He knows about all the people Blaze in the tournament for that belt, Bobby & Jackie Fulton, Jushin Liger, J.R. Benson, but no-one ever asks him about the people he beat for his belt. If he is such a great champion does he want a shot against the real World champion? Blaze laughs and says “No!”, but he will be defending his belt all over the U.S. and all Candido has to do is sign a contract and he’ll defend his belt against him. Candido says that he will sign that contract, not because he wants to win that piece of garbage, but so he can take it and throw it in the river where it belongs. Jimmy Del Ray (w/ Tom Prichard) vs Robert Gibson (w/ Ricky Morton) - Prichard gets up on the apron to complain about a ‘slow’ count from Mark Curtis. Distracted, Morton gets in the ring and the Rock & Rolls hit Del Ray with the double dropkick and Gibson becomes the new ‘Beat the Champ’ TV champion. Jim Cornette is fuming on commentary saying it was 2 on 1, that’s his $1,000 and has Dutch Mantel backing him up saying how they’ve robbed him. INT: Tim Horner, Ricky Morton INT: Tony Anthony - he still can’t find Ron Wright and doesn’t know where he’s at. He’s been missing for three days, he doesn’t know if he has his pills, he could be lay dead in a ditch somewhere. Dutch Mantel hasn’t seen him either, but if he does he will let him know. He always calls him every day, always makes sure he’s got his medicine and is just worried about him. Wright then shows up along with Tammy Fytch and Brian Lee. She says that she and Brian have been worried about Ronnie living all by himself so they’ve decided to let him move in with them. That way he can get his medication on time, can get his neck rubs when he needs them and they can take good care of him. Lee tells the Dirty White Boy not to worry about Ron and not to worry about the $20,000, as next time he steps in the ring with Tracey Smothers he’s taking him out once and for all and Sherri Martel won’t make any difference at all as she’ll never get to his manager. Fytch checks her watch and says it is time for Ronnie’s pill and they leave while the Dirty White Boy says that he doesn’t like this one bit. Notes: There was way too much Cornette on this show and its overkill having him as manager, Commissioner and commentator. Hopefully he brings someone in to take over commentary duties from him as this episode was a bit of a struggle towards the end. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired September 11, 1993 Clintwood Elementary School, Clintwood, VA Steve & Scott Armstrong vs Mike Sampson & Dark Secret INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong - they’ve been in the gym training harder than ever and are ready for the Bruise Brothers INT: Tim Horner, Steve & Scott Armstrong INT: Tim Horner - he asked for the ‘Country Whipping’ match and Chris Candido tried to jump the gun and get the first licks in. He guarantees that he is going to get the last and those ones are going to hurt a little more. He asks Bob Caudle who has Candido beat since he’s been in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and the pair of them can’t think of anyone. He was walking through a flea market the other day and saw something that caught his eye, a baby bonnet. He says that Chris Candido is wrestling on TV today against Robbie Eagle and if he beats him, then he will wear the bonnet on his head until he himself wins a match on TV. However if Eagle wins, then Candido has to wear it, and again until he wins another match on TV. Horner made an absolute mess of explaining this. Chris Candido vs Robbie Eagle - prior to the match beginning Candido gets on the mic and asks Eagle how many matches he has won in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. When he replies “none,” he quickly accepts Tim Horner’s challenge. Horner pulls a chair up at ringside so he can watch the match from there. Candido hits the Suicideplex but then Horner gets in the ring and drops an elbow on Eagle. Mark Curtis DQ’s Candido and Eagle is declared the winner, while Horner throws the baby bonnet to Candido who has a tantrum in the ring. Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony & Ron Wright & Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Dutch opens with some pre-recorded comments from Tracey Smothers. He is still here and still coming back on 9/12. He has lived with pain throughout his life and has always come back sooner than what the Doctors said. The Dirty White Boy is going to be in the cage at ringside and he may very well just poke him like an animal. He has already spanked Tammy Fytch’s butt and in Knoxville, a ‘September to Remember’, is going to close his fist and shove it so far down her throat it’ll come out her toes! He’s going to light her up like a Christmas tree as he no longer gives two cents about her, Wellesley College, Brian Lee or the Dirty White Boy. The light is on but there is no-one home, the elevator doesn’t go to the top and on 9/12 he will be their worst nightmare. Back on Down & Dirty and Dutch says that there has been some controversy about the $20,000 bounty. The Dirty White Boy tells Lee and Fytch that they want Ron’s money back, are tired of waiting around and are not going to wait any longer. Lee again says that the money is spent, until Tammy hits him and he corrects himself to “it’s as good as spent” and next time he faces Tracey Smothers he’ll take him out once and for all. Fytch (who has spent the duration of the interview giving Wright a shoulder massage) wants to hear what Ronnie has to say though. She tells him that she can give him his money back this week, but if she does she won’t be able to get that real nice dress she saw on Rodeo Drive, or they can wait another week, she can give him another neck rub, Brian can have another match with Tracey and if he beats him and puts him out of wrestling everything will be fine. If he doesn’t, then she’ll give him his money back, and she then kisses him on the head. Wright tells the White Boy that maybe they could wait one more week, much to Anthony’s disappointment. Jimmy Del Ray (w/ Tom Prichard) vs Jason West INT: Heavenly Bodies - Tom Prichard has never been so proud of anyone in his life, his cousin Jimmy Del Ray is now the TV champion. They’ve silenced their critics and everyone in pro wrestling by going and taking the Steiners on in their own back yard. They don’t care who it is, but they are going to be the next WWF tag team champions and if the Steiners had any guts they would come to a neutral place like Smoky Mountain Wrestling and face them here so that they can have a traditional wrestling match in the middle of the ring. Prichard promises them that they may come to the ring with the belts, but they sure won’t leave with them. Del Ray says that Jim Cornette will be back sooner than people think and his cousin has told him what a thorn in his side the Rock & Roll Express have been, this makes them a thorn in his side too and they’re going to stomp a mud hole in them. Prichard says that after Terry Funk gets through with Bob Armstrong, Jim Cornette will be the Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, they will becomes the WWF tag team champions and they will control pro wrestling as you know it. INT: Jim Cornette - he’s still in bed and the Heavenly Bodies are doing their best to entertain and look after him. He’s feeling better every day and has even got his Smoky Mountain Commissioner’s hat on ready. After Terry Funk and his ‘secret weapon’ get through with Bob Armstrong he’s going to be out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and Jim Cornette will be calling all the shots. He tells Armstrong that he knows that he’s real pleased with what he did, dropping him on his head, putting him in this neck brace and sending him to the hospital, but how pleased is he going to be when Terry Funk and his ‘secret weapon’ get through with him? How pleased will he be when he’s the Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and his sons are fired and can’t get a job anywhere? His revenge is not going to be seeing Terry Funk or the ‘secret weapon’ beat him within an inch of his life, it will be seeing him out of SMW with his head hung low and trying to explain to all his fans, friends and family that Jim Cornette got the final word. He reminds the people that if they love that old fossil, if you think that old man is John Wayne like he pretends to be, then come and see him on 9/12 or 9/17 because that’s going to be the last time you’ll ever see him. Cornette then tells Del Ray if he doesn’t have any more colouring books at least give him his Observer! INT: Terry Funk - wonders how can a dilapidated old man like Bob Armstrong stand a chance against a great athlete like himself? He needs some inspiration if he wants to be the Commissioner, which he never will be, but he wants to inspire him so that he can have a contest in the ring. “All your sons are a bunch of bastards!” No that doesn’t inspire you because all Tennessee sons are a bunch of bastards. “Your sister is a whore!” No that won’t inspire you because all Tennessee sisters are whores. “Your mother is a whore!” No that won’t work because no-one in Tennessee has any respect for their mothers. “Your wife is a whore!” No that won’t work because no-one in Tennessee respects their wives. I know, “Your mistress is a whore!” because all Tennessee men have mistresses and that will inspire Bob Armstrong to get in the ring with him and do his best. He can do his best, but when he’s through with him, he’s going to walk out the ring and Bob Armstrong is going to be carried out one piece at a time. A skull and crossbones are almost superimposed over Funk and this is another awesome crazy interview. You could possibly argue he went over long in the shock value (sons, sister, mother, wife and Mistress) but it was captivating stuff from him. INT: Bob Armstrong - he hopes that Jim Cornette has paid Terry Funk a lot of money as for the last few weeks he’s had to listen to him run him, his family and everyone in Smoky Mountain Wrestling down. Terry Funk is the only cowboy in Texas that buried his own horse and he may wish he had that horse to saddle up and ride off into the sunset on, because he’s going to come out fighting and come out fighting hard. Then, after Knoxville, even if he has to crawl, walk and hitchhike he’s going to be at Johnson City early to try and find out who this secret weapon is. Jim Cornette isn’t going to get it done, he’s got him ready, mad and now he’s in for a fight. They aren’t going to see any wrestling in Knoxville or Johnson City all they are going to see is a fight, and no matter what secret weapon he’s got, nothing can stand up to a good old American right cross! It’s becoming repetitive but another excellent interview from The Bullet, and the interviews leading up to these matches have been tremendous across the board. INT: Chris Candido, Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch Rock & Roll Express vs Kevin Sullivan & Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) - just before the match starts the Bruise Brothers come down to ringside and start throwing chairs and causing a commotion. They talk to Ron Wright and then Sullivan and the White Boy step down and the twins take their place in the match. Rock & Roll Express vs Bruise Brothers (w/ Kevin Sullivan) - double dropkick by the Rock & Rolls and then Sullivan interferes spiking Robert Gibson in the back for the title saving DQ. As Sullivan goes to spike Ricky Morton, Steve & Scott Armstrong make the save and clear the ring of the heels. Much better match than the tag title change (although sloppy in a couple of spots) and Sullivan seems a much better fit for the Bruise Brothers than Cornette was. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired September 4, 1993 Clintwood Elementary School, Clintwood, VA Bruise Brothers vs Jason West & Robbie Eagle - Kevin Sullivan joins them on commentary for this match and the twins are DQ’d for throwing West over the top rope to the floor.) INT: Kevin Sullivan & Bruise Brothers - Sullivan says that the Bruise Brothers are good men and they’re nice men. He tells Jim Cornette that he doesn’t like to ease into anything or step on anyone’s toes, but if these guys need guidance, and all these guys do need is a little guidance, he’s here for them. They’re untamed animals and have never gotten a fair shake in the justice system. When they face the Rock & Roll Express in Morristown on 9/11 and they shave their heads with a razor, they may just slip and cut their throat. The twins say that the Armstrong’s have got their daddy to lead them round and make sure they’re okay, now they have got somebody to make sure they go where they need to go, do what they need to do and take care of everything they need to take care of. INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony - Ron is almost a cured man after they put Tracey Smothers out of action and got rid of him forever. Bob Caudle has a statement though and it’s from Tracey Smothers’ doctor who says that his knee ligament is not completely torn as first thought, it’s only partially torn. He recommends that he stays out of action for six weeks and then he can return. Wright and the Dirty White Boy are not happy at all with this piece of news. Caudle then plays a taped interview from Smothers. He says that Brian Lee and the Dirty White Boy thought they’d got the job done and collected the bounty, but they didn’t and he’s coming back. It’s only a partial tear. The doctors said he would be out for six weeks, but he’ll be back in three. He has a title match set for 9/12 in Knoxville against Brian Lee, and to make sure the Dirty White Boy doesn’t interfere he’s asked the commission to have him locked in a cage at ringside. Back in the studio and Wright is even angrier than before. Brian Lee was supposed to put Smothers out of commission and he demands that they come out and give him his money back! Anthony says he told him not to give them the money and that he should’ve given it to him, but he wouldn’t listen and now they’re out $20,000. Ron Wright wants his money back! Funny stuff. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Heavenly Bodies INT: Dennis Coraluzzo - video interview. He’s totally ashamed of the way that Smoky Mountain Wrestling is treating their great champion Chris Candido. The WWA is the premiere wrestling organization in the world, but in the time Candido has been in SMW, he’s been called a crybaby and Smoky Mountain refuses to recognize his prestigious, diamond studded, gold plated championship belt. They have tried to make him drink from a baby bottle and wear a diaper, but now the worst thing imaginable, Smoky Mountain Wrestling is forcing him to get into a ‘Country Whipping’ match with Tim Horner. It’s very barbaric and uncivilized to put a man in that position and they should be like them in New Jersey, where they settle their problems in a businesslike and civilized manner. If Tim Horner and Smoky Mountain Wrestling don’t stop harassing the great Chris Candido he will be forced to take some sort of action. Coraluzzo has stopped his interview but the video continues to record. He tells the guy who is filming it to edit it, send it off and tell that (bleep) guy if he doesn’t stop bothering Chris Candido he’ll end up in a pair of cement overshoes! Tim Horner vs Mike Sampson - Chris Candido joins them on commentary. He jumps Horner after the match and starts whipping him with the belt. Horner eventually gets the belt off him and starts whipping him back before chasing him to the dressing room. Down & Dirty w/ Bob Armstrong - Dutch opens today’s show by playing some comments from Jim Cornette. Cornette is still laid up in his bead and being tended to by the Heavenly Bodies. He is trying to get hold of his mother on the phone as she is still at the diamond mine in South Africa but is having no luck. He’s feeling a little better than last week, but the only thing he has done in that time was drugged himself up and go to Summerslam to see the Bodies get ripped off at the hands of the Steiner Brothers. There are plans in the works though to try and bring the Steiners back to Smoky Mountain Wrestling and have them defend their WWF tag team titles here. Bob Armstrong claims to be Mr. Honesty, Mr. Integrity and Mr. Fair Play around here? Well he recalls when SMW started up over a year and a half ago and there was a hold he banned, a hold he said was so devastating and crippling it could never be used in a professional ring legally, and that was the piledriver. He crusaded, campaigned, fined people and did everything he could to stop the use of the piledriver, so what happens when he gets in the ring with Jim Cornette? Not one, but two piledrivers. We see that he doesn’t practice what he preaches, but Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies do practice what they preach and the preach death, destruction and dishonor to the Armstrong family. That’s what’s going to happen in these two matches that are coming up, and if Bob Armstrong ever wants to be employed and earn a living for his family again, he’ll have to face his challenge. On 9/17 at Freedom Hall in Johnson City, he has to take on his ‘secret weapon’, where either Bob Armstrong or Jim Cornette will be gone from Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever following the outcome of that match. While he won’t know the identity of this secret weapon until he gets to Johnson City that night, the one thing he does know is that he might not make it to 9/17 as on 9/12 in Knoxville, TN he’s got to take on the wildman, the mad Texan from Amarillo, Terry Funk. If he wants to talk about piledrivers, cast his mind back to a big WCW PPV three or four years ago where Terry Funk piledrove Ric Flair on a table at ringside and put him out of action for four months. So Bob Armstrong isn’t the only one who can use piledrivers, so can Terry Funk, and if he beats Bob Armstrong on 9/17, Jim Cornette will be the Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. After these two matches are over one of us is going to be running the show, while the other one will have to go. Back on Down & Dirty and Dutch is joined by Bob Armstrong and he tells him that he’s going to journey into the most dangerous five days of his life and wrestling career. Armstrong says that Jim Cornette is trying to take away his right to make a living and when someone messes with his rights, he’ll fight long and hard. In fact he will fight for anyone’s rights, and when he was a Marine he fought for all of America’s rights. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is his home, he’s been here since it started as Commissioner, he didn’t ask or want to be a wrestler. Jim Cornette messed him up and hurt him bad and the only way he could get him back was by becoming a wrestler. Now he’s spending all his mama’s money on hiring a ‘secret weapon’ for Johnson City and to bring in Terry Funk for Knoxville. If he loses this he doesn’t have any way to make a living, and when your back is against the wall you’ll fight with all you’ve got. He’s got a right to be in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, a right to make a living and he tells Terry Funk that he’s going to fight until there is no breath left in his body. Great babyface interview from The Bullet. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Bobby Blaze INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Bob Caudle tells them that Tracey Smothers says he is going to be back in three weeks. Fytch says that they crippled him and can’t believe that he is coming back. The reason he is coming back is because he loves her so much and can’t stay away from her. He can’t resist her and is coming back to try and molest her again. Lee says he makes all these excuses about wanting the belt, about wanting Brian Lee, but he is nothing but a pervert. He put Tracey Smothers out of action for $25,000, it’s his money and the Dirty White Boy is not getting a dime of it back. The White Boy comes out (followed by Ron Wright) and confronts them saying that Ron wants his money back. Lee claims that the money is spent, but Tammy interrupts and says it isn’t spent, Brian got it wrong, it’s in the bank and you don’t have to worry about it. She says that Tracey Smothers won’t be coming back, but if he does, don’t worry about it, they’ll take care of him again. Wright isn’t happy but she wheels him off saying they need to go talk somewhere. Ricky Morton vs Jimmy Del Ray - Tom Prichard comes down to ringside early and is soon followed by Robert Gibson. Prichard gets up on the apron ready to clock Morton with a chain. Ricky beats him to the punch but he still manages to throw the chain to Del Ray. Gibson goes after Prichard and Mark Curtis is distracted by them fighting at ringside. This gives Del Ray the opportunity to clobber Morton with the chain and become the new TV champion. Good match. INT: Tim Horner, Steve & Scott Armstrong INT: Heavenly Bodies - Tom Prichard says that they don’t care if it’s WCW or the WWF, they will go anywhere. They’re going to get all the titles, all the money and all the women! They went to the Steiners hometown to take them on, but are now challenging them to come down to Smoky Mountain Wrestling if they’ve got the guts and to face them here. They have just proven that the Rock & Roll Express are washed up and proven that they can beat them any day of the week. They are then jumped by the Rock & Rolls and quickly make their disappearance. INT: Rock & Roll Express - they say if Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies do win the WWF tag team titles, the only thing that they are going to do is lose them to the Rock & Roll Express. They’ve already ran one Heavenly Body out of here and it will give them no greater pleasure than to get rid of Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray too. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired January 29, 1994 Chihowie High School, Chihowie, VA INT: Louie Spicolli - says he’s come all the way from California as Chris Candido wouldn’t come out and give him a title shot, so he had to come to Smoky Mountain to get one. Chris Candido vs Louie Spicolli - Tammy Fytch again comes down to ringside once the match is underway. INT: Dennis Coraluzzo - he’s at the Hall of Records in Pennsylvania to prove that Chris Candido is correct in what he’s been saying all along, and that Tracey Smothers is really Vito Maranara from Schuylkill Haven, PA. His ‘associate,’ Vinny, shows up and hands Coraluzzo something, purportedly to be Smothers’ birth certificate to prove that he’s not from Tennessee in the slightest. Vinny asks for his payment and we bear witness to some of the worst acting you could imagine from Coraluzzo when Vinny tells him that its $50 he owes him. Coraluzzo struggles to get together $50 and tries to use his watch as collateral to help pay him. A policeman’s whistle blows, Vinny does a runner and Coraluzzo tells the officers which direction he went. This was an awful segment with dreadful acting from all involved and a terrible storyline. The Candido - Smothers feud doesn’t need this nonsense at all, especially as they have been trying to turn Candido into a more serious heel as opposed to a jokey one. INT: Jim Cornette - says he’s been waiting a long time for this Texas Death match at Sunday Bloody Sunday between Terry Funk and The Bullet, otherwise known as Bob Armstrong, and there’s a lot riding on it, but instead of him telling everyone about it he’s got some comments from Terry Funk. Funk has his brother Dory with him (and he’s wearing a rather dashing gold top hat) and says how he’s coming to Knoxville to wrestle Bob Armstrong in a Texas Death match. He asks Dory to explain the rules to everyone and he tells them that falls don’t count there could be one or one hundred, there’s no stopping the match for any reason, falls can take place anywhere, and most importantly there is no stopping the match for blood. If the people don’t like blood he suggests they don’t look towards the ring as Bob Armstrong’s blood will be splattered all over Knoxville. The last man standing will be the winner and that’s going to be his brother, the King of the Texas Death match. Dory will be at ringside for the match, not to interfere, but to protect Jim Cornette from all of Bob Armstrong’s illegitimate relatives. Terry says that he knows all about Knoxville as on a windy day he can smell it from Texas. It smells like butt crack, Tennessee and it smells like fear. What kind of fear does it smell like? It smells like death. Is it Bob Armstrong shaking under his covers because the Funks are coming? He and his brother have a date in Knoxville. Cornette is laughing and very happy in the studio, Terry Funk is the King of the Texas Death match, he’s had a million of them and knows all the ins and outs. Bob Caudle wants to hear from The Bullet though and they go to a video interview from him. The Bullet says that since he signed this contract to wrestle Terry Funk in a Texas Death match everybody has been calling him saying that he’s made a mistake, the man’s never been beaten. Although he’s beaten Bob Armstrong he’s not beaten The Bullet. Jim Cornette has bought in some big guns but somehow he’s found a way around them and he’s still here, fighting for Bob Armstrong’s spot as Commissioner. He knows he’s going to run out of body parts before Jim Cornette’s mama runs out of money, so let’s get it all done in on night, once and for all. Back in the studio and Cornette says that he’s waited a long time and is going to make the most of this. He knows he can’t hurt Bob Armstrong or injure him so bad that he won’t want to come back, he’s tried; but how do you harm a prideful man? “You hit him in his pride.” All the people who have supported him for 25 years, all his family, friends and fans will watch him kiss the feet of Jim Cornette and if he wants to get out of doing that, he must beat Terry Funk in a Texas Death match, and that’s something that no man can do. Great stuff on the mic as always when these guys are involved. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl Recap of Bruise Brothers and Moondogs backstage brawl from Christmas Chaos Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Dutch has a special interview that he wants to share from two guys who think they’re real great, who think they were great football player and who now think they’re great wrestlers, Doug & Mike Furnas. The Furnas Brothers have a University of Alabama sweater with them which they both spit on before saying there is no way they’re going to wear that come 2/13. They’re going straight after the football helmet and plan to knock some heads together with it. Back on Down & Dirty and Cornette has a very important announcement. The Rock & Roll Express are trying to kill him for no apparent reason so he has gone and got an injunction against them. If the Rock & Roll Express attack him, or even lay one finger on him outside of a sanctioned match, then they will both be suspended indefinitely. He couldn’t do anything about what happens in the course of a match, but they can’t disrupt any more of their interviews or anything that he does over at the announcing desk. Cornette then goes off on Paul Morton and Ricky Morton runs down to the ring. He is followed by Robert Gibson, Tracey Smothers and Bobby Blaze who hold him back while the Bodies and Cornette try to goad him into the ring to attack Cornette. Rock & Roll Express vs Jason Herd & Jason West INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says he doesn’t care about the injunction because they’ve already got matches signed against the Heavenly Bodies. He’s sick and tired of him putting down all these fans, putting down his family and they’re going to go through the Heavenly Bodies and get to him, he can bet on it. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy cannot believe this is happening! Not only do they have a Chain match with the Dirty White Boy, but Ron Wright is coming back and they crippled him. It’s not fair. Brian’s a wrestler, he should have a wrestling match not one of these barbaric chain matches. She’s going to get blood all over her clothes and doesn’t know what to do. Lee interrupts and wonders why she’s worried about her clothes? It’s his blood, he may get killed in this match! Fytch says it’s not her fault, Lee says its somebodies fault and he’s going to put all the blame on the Dirty White Boy. He’s going to take him out before 2/13 so he doesn’t make it to Sunday Bloody Sunday and the Chain match. Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) vs Killer Kyle - Brian Lee interferes for the DQ and Tammy Fytch takes out the Dirty White Girl with her purse. With Anthony holding his own against the two of them, Chris Candido runs out, picks up Kyle’s violin case and nails the White Boy in the back with it. Tracey Smothers makes the save but gets double teamed by Kyle and Candido for his trouble. The White Boy regains his senses, grabs his chain and the two of them quickly get out of the ring. It leaves Brian Lee all alone and Anthony chokes him with the chain before hanging him (to riotous applause from the crowd). The heels finally get Primetime free and retreat to the back. INT: Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette INT: Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl & Tracey Smothers - the White Girl warns that little street walking tramp that when she gets her hands on her there’ll be hell to pay. Smothers says that as bad as they hate each other they hate Brian Lee, Chris Candido and Tammy Fytch more, and gives the Dirty White Boy his word that he’s got a partner that he can trust and they’ll kick their butts once and for all. The White Boy says he’s looking forward to 2/13 as he’s got a Chain match and Ron Wright is going to walk down that aisle with him. Ron Wright has never lost a Chain match in his life so there is no way he’s going to lose in front of him, and what happened to Brian Lee just now is a small taste of what he can expect at Sunday Bloody Sunday. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired February 12, 1994 ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday Preview Special’ Recap of Tracey Smothers and Chris Candido from last week where Smothers cost Candido the TV title INT: Chris Candido INT: Tracey Smothers Bruise Brothers music video - George Thorogood ‘Get A Haircut and Get A Real Job’ Recap of the Moondogs destroying Jason West & Jeff Victory from last week INT: Jim Cornette, Brian Lee & Chris Candido & Tammy Fytch INT: Mike & Doug Furnas Recap of the Heavenly Bodies/Paul Morton/Rock & Roll Express angle and injunction INT: Terry & Dory Funk Jr. - Terry says the world would be much simpler if it was left to his brother Dory as he knows how to handle the tough situations that arise in an individual’s life. For instance, if he found a stray cat he didn’t want he’d put it down, if he found a mad dog he’d shoot it and if he came across a sick and hapless horse he’d put that horse down. The same holds true when you find a fossil that’s disrupting your life, like Bob Armstrong is disrupting Jim Cornette’s. Tonya Harding’s husband knew how to take care of a situation, it’s just that he didn’t go in there with the right ammunition. If they had hired him, Nancy would never do a triple axel in the Olympics again! They’re planning things with Jim Cornette and they’re planning to eliminate Bob Armstrong from wrestling because of the Texas Death match. Cue Dory to explain those rules again! INT: The Bullet - says how Jim Cornette is fond of saying how he’s never beaten Terry Funk, but that’s because he’s never really had the chance and has some film to back that up. The film is Bob Armstrong vs Terry Funk from 9/12/93, so now they’re not even pretending that Bob Armstrong isn’t The Bullet! Jeez. The Bullet says he’s been in some important matches in his career, but Sunday Bloody Sunday is the most important yet. If he doesn’t beat Terry Funk in this Texas Death match, a type of match in which he has never lost, not only does he have to unmask, but Bob Armstrong will never be the Commissioner of SMW again and he won’t get to attend the Armstrong family reunion in Marietta, GA. When the cards have all been dealt, who knows what will happen? He might come up with aces and Jim Cornette may be the joker of the bunch. He’s got his head right, his mind right and as far as never losing a Texas Death match, there’s a first time for everything. Lengthy history piece on the Brian Lee and Tony Anthony feud narrated by Jim Cornette. This is excellent. INT: Ron Wright - says he’s never been so mad and disgusted in his life as he has these past few weeks since he’s been in hospital having his hip implant surgery. Brian Lee made a terrible mistake putting his name on the dotted line to get in the ring with the Dirty White Boy in a Tennessee Chain match. He’s the master of them, he invented them and he beat everyone from A to Z in them. Come 2/13 he’s got Brian Lee’s name stamped on his oak walking stick, and after the Dirty White Boy beats him half to death and he’s lying in the ring unconscious, when they carry him out of there he’s going to wrap that walking stick around his head. Tammy Fytch will probably get her head smacked from off her shoulders and he’ll lay her on the stretcher with him and they’ll carry them both off out of there. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) (jip, from Barbourville, KY) - Fytch hands Lee her hairspray and he sprays it in the Dirty White Boy’s face but is spotted by Mark Curtis who DQ’s him. They don’t realise at first, but it soon sinks in that it means the White Girls gets five minutes with Fytch (as a result of the pre-match stipulations). The White Girl goes over to try and get the hairspray off Lee but he pushes her back and knocks her down. Fytch then decides that the match with the White Girl is underway and she just covers her as Curtis reluctantly counts the pin. INT: Tony Anthony - he’s not concerned with anything when it comes to Sunday Bloody Sunday. The Dirty White Girl wanted to be in the match but he asked her to step down, she’ll get her chance to get even. A 12ft chain strapped to each of their wrists and the only way to win the match is to touch all four corners, and to do that you have to have your opponent flat on his back. He’s ready to bleed but Brian Lee is going to bleed first, bleed last and bleed longest, and he’s walking out the SMW Heavyweight champion whether he likes it or not. Excellent interview. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy tells him to quit his whining, she doesn’t know how they got into this but he’s just going to have to go in there and win, there’s nothing she can do about it. Lee says he isn’t whining, she’s the manager, he’s the wrestler. Managers set up the matches so how did he get into this? Lee tells the Dirty White Boy not to worry about the problems that they’re having, because his problem is 6’8”, 280lbs and he’s going to find a way to take him out on the 13th. Tammy doesn’t care what he does and doesn’t care how much he bleeds, just don’t get it on her dress and don’t lose that belt, because if he does she’ll never talk to him again. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl & Tracey Smothers Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired May 28, 1994 ‘Volunteer Slam Special’ The Thrillseekers vs Well Dunn (highlights) INT: Well Dunn - say the Thrillseekers have gotten everything going their way; they’ve got the SMW Commissioners in their back pocket, they get music videos, they get it all. Dunn says that every time they get The Thrillseekers right where they want them, they start their double teaming, paying off referees, they pull some kind of stunt to come out on top. They’re going to talk to their lawyers, the officials, put their heads together and think of some way to make them follow the rules because they’re the best team and they are going to prove it. INT: The Thrillseekers - they don’t know what Well Dunn’s problem is? They haven’t cheated once to beat them and it’s not their fault that they move so fast that they can’t keep track of who the legal man is or where they’re coming from. Jericho says that Well Dunn are too concerned with what everyone else is doing and getting, and they have so many excuses running around in their heads that they can’t see The Thrillseekers come out on top just by outwrestling them. Any match that Well Dunn wants, they will give it to them. Recap of Tracey Smothers and Bruiser Bedlam from last week Randy Savage (w/ Bob Armstrong) vs Bruiser Bedlam (w/ Jim Cornette) (jip) - Savage climbs to the top turnbuckle but Cornette grabs his ankle. Armstrong comes round, slugs Cornette and starts beating on him outside the ring. Savage with the elbow off the top, but referee Mark Curtis is more concerned with Cornette and Armstrong on the outside. Dory Funk Jr. comes down to help Cornette and Armstrong gets the better of him until Cornette powders the Bullet. Savage climbs the turnbuckle for another flying elbow, but while Curtis is seeing to Armstrong, Dory pushes him off the turnbuckle to the canvas. Bedlam pulls some brass knux out of his trunks, decks the Macho man and gets the three. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam & Dory Funk Jr. - Cornette knew it was going to happen all along! Bruiser Bedlam is invincible, he’s the world’s most dangerous wrestler and just beat Randy Savage in the middle of the ring legally, morally, one by one, all by himself. He tells Bob Armstrong that he can’t stand up to a real legend in professional wrestling like Dory Funk Jr. and Cornette nominates him for the Commissionership of Smoky Mountain Wrestling as they need an honest man. Bedlam says that Tracey Smothers had no right getting in his business and he’s going to go down just like Randy Savage. Cornette warns Armstrong and Smothers that bad things are going to happen when they mess with this crew, before Dory tells Bob to ask his little girl to stay away from him and his brother. INT: Bob Armstrong & Tracey Smothers - Bob says that someone needs to do something after what just happened, he needs to do something, he’s tired of Jim Cornette and his cronies and now Dory Funk Jr. has jumped in. He needs to get in there and take care of business and is just about ready to give up the Commissionership. Smothers tells him that’s what Cornette wants and to leave it to himself, Steve and Scott Armstrong. He tells Bedlam that when he put his hands on the Bullet he made it his business, and if he gets his hands on Cornette he’ll knock him back to Louisville. Armstrong says if only he can find someone he trusts to take over this Commissionership? He knows the boys can get the job done, they always have, but he wants to get his hands on them. He’s ready to roll and make mincemeat out of them. Recap of Chris Candido vs Ricky Morton from last week INT: Tammy Fytch - says the ‘Piledriver’ match is ridiculous. Smoky Mountain Wrestling has this obsession with her where they want to make her life miserable; not only do they want Chris and Brian to lose the belts but they want them hurt. When Les Thatcher questions doesn’t she want the Rock & Roll Express hurt? She says “Yes,” but they deserve it and tells him not to interrupt her! She’s going to call her attorneys and do everything humanely possible to try and get an injunction against this match as it shouldn’t be happening. Recap of the Tony Anthony vs Jake Roberts SMW Heavyweight title change Jake Roberts vs Tony Anthony (jip) Les Thatcher tries to get a dressing room interview but the Dirty White Girl is on a stretcher and being carried out to an ambulance by Tony Anthony, Tracey Smothers, The Thrillseekers and Bobby Blaze. INT: Jake Roberts - says that in the heat of the battle men are sometimes asked to do things that they wouldn’t normally do. Sitting here reflecting on what just happened, he wonders what goes through his head as it’s not like he set out to do that. Then he remembers reading about Cain and Abel and wonders how Cain felt…because right now he feels pretty good. He taught the Dirty White Boy a lesson and showed him what he would sacrifice to get the job done. If it means picking a chair up and throwing it across the room, Jake the Snake will pick that chair up and throw it further than anybody else. If it means pushing that red button, if it means going down to the final countdown, Jake ‘the Snake’ Roberts will do that. Why? Because nobody has ever given him a damn thing his whole life, all they are interested in is what they want and that’s why Jake does the things he does. It’s not Jake’s fault, he’s a nice boy, he’s fun to play with, but he’s not playing with Tony, he’s the example. He warns the White Boy to keep the Dirty White Girl away from him and if he wants, the White Boy can keep away from him too. The run of great interviews and promos from Jake continues. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired 23 July, 1994 Northwest Ashe High School, Warrensville, NC Recap of the announcements surrounding the ‘Coward Waves the Flag’ match from last week The show opens with Jim Cornette and Bruiser Bedlam picketing at ringside Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Scott Studd INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - Cornette is not happy with the working conditions in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, having to be wrestling and associated with an attempted murderer like Road Warrior Hawk, that cantankerous Ron Wright, that goof Bob Armstrong and Tracey Smothers. He’s got a list of grievances as long as his arm that he’d like to read, however Les Thatcher says that they don’t have the time and they have to take a break. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam & Terry & Dory Funk Jr. - their prognosis for Bob Armstrong and his crew is pain, lots and lots of pain. Dory tells him that he’s been waiting 22 years to slap him in the ring, and for once why doesn’t he just put that bat away so they can see who the best wrestler is? Cornette says that when Armstrong had Road Warrior Hawk hid in the back as his mystery partner he knew something was up, that’s why he made sure the contract read that if he got his match on fifth, they got theirs on the sixth. It’s going to be “double trouble, a weekend like you’ve never seen before, and piece by piece, inch by inch, Bob Armstrong’s crew is going down” INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - Cornette says that there is no fear in hearts of the men in FITE, they are not scared of any man walking and are certainly not scared of Road Warrior Hawk. He doesn’t think it’s appropriate or good working conditions though that they should have to associate with him, or that they should be forced to get in the ring with a man like Road Warrior Hawk, not to mention a crochety, nasty, disgusting old man like Ron Wright, a man that gives managers a bad name. He’s worked long and hard to uphold the honour of professional wrestling managers and Ron Wright does them no favours at all, and it’s all because of Bob Armstrong and his surrogate son Tracey Smothers. He wouldn’t have signed the contract for the ‘Coward Waves the Flag’ match if he knew their partner was Road Warrior Hawk, however he would’ve signed the contract for the ‘Texas Death’ match even if they had King Kong or Godzilla as their third man. They may have one up on them at Night of Legends in Knoxville, but they’ve got one up on them at Fire on the Mountain in Johnson City. Cornette then says that they’ve got some more striking to do and they’re going to stay right here; that is until Bob Armstrong, Tracey Smothers and Ron Wright come out and they make a sharp exit. Bob says that no matter what Cornette says, the contracts are signed, the deals are done, Road Warrior Hawk is on his way and before he says anything else he’s got some comments from Hawk that he’d like everyone to hear. Hawk doesn’t really say anything of note, but they again replay Cornette taking the bump off the scaffold at Starcade ’86. Back in the studio and Smothers says that Cornette’s Union is busted; he and The Bullet are going to take care of the Funks and in Road Warrior Hawk they’ve got a man that can match power with Bruiser Bedlam. Wright says that it’s such an honour to be in these men’s corner, the flag won’t wave and he probably won’t even carry a flag out there with him. He tells Cornette that he better keep his nose out of the ring and out of their business, because if he gets involved he’s going to chop his head off and they won’t have to worry about him ever again. Armstrong says that they are coming like gangbusters, are going to get the job done and the “People’s Union” will prevail. The Gangstas (New Jack & Mustafa Said) vs Chris Hamrick & Anthony Michaels - The Gangstas have their own security as they don’t trust the police force INT: The Gangstas - New Jack says that 30 years ago they would’ve been strung up getting hung in somebodies tree for beating two white boys like the way they just did. They don’t like being here as he was getting out of his car, slipped and fell in some tobacco spit; there’s nothing but rednecks, geeks, coal miners, chicken farmers and Klan’s men up here and he doesn’t like anyone but his partner. He doesn’t care who they line up in front of him as he is going to show them how bad New Jack and Mustafa are. Violence to some people may be putting the Figure Four on someone, to him, violence is taking a can of gas, pouring it over them and then setting it on fire. He didn’t come up here to be liked, he came here to be paid and whoever they put in front of him he’s going to drop down. He’d like to send a special shout out to his homeboy O.J. Simpson, keep up the good work baby, two less they’ve got to worry about! Well this was something else! New Jack comes across as one seriously scary, dangerous man and you would have no trouble whatsoever believing he would pour gasoline over someone and then set them alight. Not too sure what to make about Mustafa on first viewing, it’s as though he is trying to act unhinged but it comes across a bit more comedic; not at all like the aura New Jack projects. The TV show needs a shot it the arm at the moment and all the help it can get and I think these two may very well be the men to do it. SMW Night of Legends update - Les Thatcher profiles Whitey Caldwell. And it’s outstanding. The Thrillseekers vs Brian Logan & Steve Skyfire INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette says that everyone is talking about the Heavenly Bodies coming back to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. The ban hasn’t been lifted yet, he’s still working on that, but thanks to The Thrillseekers going to all these officials and wanting their chance to get even, for one week the Heavenly Bodies are back in SMW from 8/5 to 8/13. The Thrillseekers say it was the Heavenly Bodies who attacked them in the parking lot, and for arguments sake say it was, they were only on them for about a minute and look what happened. What do you think is going to happen when you’re in a wrestling match with them for 15, 20, 30 or however many minutes it takes? The Thrillseekers have had the press, the publicity and the videos, and now they’re going to find out if they’ve got the guts, the heart and the desire to get in the ring and do what needs to be done against a couple of guys who don’t care what they’ve got to do break someone’s leg, bust someone’s head open or to end someone’s career. INT: The Thrillseekers - they say how they got beat up by the Heavenly Bodies, but have the chance to get some revenge at Night of Legends as the WWF has ordered them to return to Smoky Mountain Wrestling for one week to face them. They’ve got more guts in their little fingers than the Heavenly Bodies have in their whole body, and when the Bodies come back to the Smoky Mountain area they’re going to be there to give them a welcome home party and they’re not going to like it. INT: Terry Gordy - this appears to be two interviews spliced together; firstly with Gordy talking over some AJPW footage and then him just sat at home. Fairly non-descript promo as he just says he will get the SMW Heavyweight title and he doesn’t care who he has to go through. INT: Tony Anthony - says how he’s got some tough matches coming up, as on 8/5 in Knoxville he’ll be facing Terry Gordy and if he’s lucky enough to beat him he’ll drive straight up to Johnson City to take on Dick Slater, while Jim Cornette has formed his ‘Union’ and gone and gotten himself ‘Conan’ Chris Walker. He didn’t get the belt by laying down, he got it through blood, sweat, tears and beating people up, because that’s what the Dirty White boy does and they all better get ready to do battle with him. Never knew Walker was ever in SMW. Recap of Tracey Smothers vs Brian Lee from last week INT: Tammy Fytch & Brian Lee & Chris Candido - Tammy is not happy as the people aren’t sending in the money for her legal defence fund so that she can keep her lawyers. If she can’t keep them she’ll have to continue with these matches and neither she nor her boys want to be involved in either of them. They don’t want her to be handcuffed to Ricky Gibson because who knows what he’ll do to her, while they don’t want her to be shaved bald as life wouldn’t be worth living for them if she was. She hasn’t conditioned her hair in three days because she doesn’t want to give Ricky Morton the satisfaction of shaving a beautiful head of hair and she’s going to make it look as ugly as possible. That is until it dawns on her what might happen and she storms off the set. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 30, 1994 ‘The Night of Legends Preview Special’ Steve Williams & Terry Gordy vs Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi (clips, from AJPW) INT: Terry Gordy Recap of The Thrillseekers and Heavenly Bodies INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - Cornette is sick and tired of hearing that The Thrillseekers are ready for the Heavenly Bodies, that The Thrillseekers are going to have major win over a major team. They’re going to rue the day that they humiliated him and embarrassed him on TV. Those guys who jumped them in the parking lot got a bit of revenge, but not as much as he wants because he is greedy. He doesn’t see any reason a team like the Heavenly Bodies, who’ve been everywhere, been to the top of the mountain, dominated Smoky Mountain Wrestling, been to the World Wrestling Federation, done everything and beat everybody would roll over and play dead for a couple of stinking Canadians. Tom Prichard says that you are looking at the top tag team in all of wrestling; the Armstrong’s, the Fantastics, the Furnas’ couldn’t get the job done, while the Rock & Roll Express may have won one battle but they won the war. Cornette says that they’re going to curse the day that they came to SMW because the Heavenly Bodies are coming back. The Thrillseekers may have beaten a few teams, done a few things and impressed a couple of pre-pubescent little females, but when they get in the ring with the Heavenly Bodies they’re going to have to fight, scratch, dig, claw and do everything they can think of to keep their career, health and sanity intact. Only once it’s over are they going to find out if they’ve got the guts, the heart and the desire to be on top of the mountain, or whether they’ll just be another couple of fancy looking stepping stone. Cornette always seems much more fired up, or as if he is simply enjoying it more when he is with the Bodies as opposed to Bruiser Bedlam, Killer Kyle or whomever. INT: The Thrillseekers - they say that for ten years the Rock & Roll Express have been a thorn in Jim Cornette’s side and come the Night of Legends they’ll be the boot in his ass as there is going to be a changing of the guard. Jericho says that when the Heavenly Bodies attacked him in the parking lot it was the worst decision of their lives and come the 8/5 they get a whole week to avenge what they did to them. Recap of the contract signing for the Brian Lee & Chris Candido vs Rock & Roll Express ‘Hair vs Hair’ match INT: Tammy Fytch & Brian Lee & Chris Candido - Tammy says that it’s all coming to an end this week. At the Night of Legends she has to be handcuffed to that genetic defect Ricky Gibson and the very next night at Fire on the Mountain her hair is on the line against Ricky Morton’s in a tag team title match. She’s come to the conclusion that everyone is jealous of her because she’s at the top. Everyone wants to be where she is but they can’t, so they’re going to do everything possible to humiliate her and make her life miserable so that maybe she will step down. Well not a chance as they’re not going to win and she’s not going to lose her hair. INT: Rock & Roll Express - they say that this Friday they are coming to win the tag team titles and this Saturday they’re coming to cut some hair. SMW Night of Legends update - Les Thatcher profiles Ron Fuller, Phil Hickerson and Sam Bass. After this we get replays of previous profiles. Recap of what led to the ‘Double Trouble’ Bob Armstrong & Tracey Smothers & Road Warrior Hawk vs Terry & Dory Funk Jr. & Bruiser Bedlam six-man tag matches - incl. clips of Terry & Dory Funk Jr. (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Steve & Scott Armstrong (w/ Bob Armstrong) from the Summerblast tour which is new footage. Dory clocks Steve in the back with the tennis racket behind Mark Curtis’ back and Terry covers him for the pin. INT: Road Warrior Hawk INT: Jim Cornette & Terry & Dory Funk Jr. & Bruiser Bedlam Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired October 1, 1994 INT: Bob Armstrong - he said that he had a surprise for Jim Cornette, well he’s been in touch with the new Commissioner and he’s sick and tired of this group ganging up on people and attacking them from behind. From this point forward, Jim Cornette’s Union is now illegal, is dissolved and is busted! Cornette, Bruiser Bedlam and Killer Kyle come charging out and are irate. Cornette wants to know who the new Commissioner is and who’s making these rules as they can’t do it to him. Recap of Lance Storm vs Boo Bradley and Chris Candido’s suspension from last week Boo Bradley (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Brian Lee INT: Tammy Fytch & Boo Bradley - Tammy wants to know who the new Commissioner is as she doesn’t think it’s very fair to suspend someone without knowing who is doing the suspending. Chris Candido has got three more weeks to go and then he’ll be back better than ever. She’s happy with Boo as not only is he taking all of Chris’ matches for the next three weeks, but he’s also just got her another $1,000 cheque and has taken care of Brian Lee. She does hope that Chris will be back soon though as she needs help controlling Boo, but when he is, the team of Chris Candido and Boo Bradley will be unbeatable. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruiser Bedlam - Cornette says has it ever crossed anyone’s mind who announced Chris Candido’s suspension? Who announced the Union was busted? Who’s the only person who talks to the new Commissioner? Who’s the only person who knows who the new Commissioner is? When Bob Caudle says Bob Armstrong, he replies “exactly”. It’s a con job! Bob Armstrong is still the Commissioner and that’s why he’s involved in all these matches he doesn’t want to be in, that’s why none of his friends can get a break, it’s because Bob Armstrong has been Commissioner all along! It’s bigger than Watergate, he’s going to the newspapers, the magazines and is going to file some grievances. The straw that broke the camel’s back is this ‘Whipping’ match with the Dirty White Boy, as there is no way that a man could get a match like that signed unless the Commissioner and the man signing all the contracts was against him. The stipulations have got Bob Armstrong written all over them. When Cornette starts talking about and insulting the Dirty White Girl, the White Boy comes out and challenges Bruiser Bedlam to get in the ring with him there and then. The Bruiser is happy to accept, but it doesn’t take long for Cornette to get involved and his distraction allows Bedlam to pull some Knux out of his trunks and KO the White Boy with them. The two of them then handcuff him to the turnbuckles and start whipping him with a leather strap until Bob Armstrong and the ‘Tennessee toothpick’ make the save. INT: Ole & Bryant Anderson - a taped interview sent in from Atlanta, where Ole has Bryant running up and down a small hill before getting him to join him. What gets Ole these days is that everyone is dressed up in these fancy jackets, they’ve got all these great entrances with music, but the one thing that’s missing, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling is going to see it, is someone who wrestles and does it better than anybody else. There is one guy in particular that they are looking for, one guy that made a mistake when Bryant was in college, one guy who came down to try and show everybody how great he was, and that’s Tracey Smothers. Smothers better get ready to do a little roadwork himself because when the Anderson’s get to Smoky Mountain Wrestling, everybody is going to be in for a big surprise. Bryant can’t wait to take that amateur career that took him to the state championship, to the junior national team, to the AAU and apply all that wrestling knowledge along with the skill and knowledge that he gave him to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Bryant says that he didn’t wake up one day and just decide that he wanted to be a wrestler, he didn’t play basketball or football in college, he wrestled and does it better than anybody else today. He’s got the scientific knowledge in his head, the heart and the body for it. Four years ago Tracey Smothers said something to him and he hasn’t forgotten, he made a big mistake and it’s time for Tracey to go back to school because the Anderson’s are coming. Good debut for Bryant who seems capable on the mic and appears to have a ton of potential. Certainly plenty more than someone like Mike Furnas who also came from an athletic, wrestling family and that they previously tried to heavily push. INT: Tony Anthony - says nobody does what Jim Cornette did to him and gets away with it. He’s going to go back to the gates of hell, spit in the devil’s face, get a strap and bust his behind! Lance Storm vs Steve Skyfire INT: The Gangstas INT: Rock & Roll Express Recap of The Gangstas and Rock & Roll Express parking lot brawl from Johnson City Rock & Roll Express vs The Gangstas (lengthy highlights, from the Tennessee Valley Fair) - the match is held outdoors and there is no skirt on the ring apron so has a feel of being from a big outdoor show in Puerto Rico. Some nice double team maneuvers from the Rock & Rolls, but it does seem strange seeing The Gangstas trying to ‘wrestle’ and use moves like a bear hug. Double dropkick to Mustafa, but instead of counting the fall Mark Curtis tries to get Ricky Morton out of the ring. With Curtis distracted New Jack nails Robert Gibson in the back of the head with a blackjack and puts Mustafa on top of him. Curtis turns round, sees Mustafa on top, counts the pin and calls for the bell. Bob Armstrong comes down to ringside and tells Curtis what happened, who, after also checking with the crowd, restarts the match. Morton then immediately rolls New Jack up with an O’Connor roll for the three count and the win. A decent match that was better than the first TV match between the two teams, but not as good as the parking lot brawl. I hated the finish as they did the exact same ‘stop/start/immediate’ pin just over a month ago in The Thrillseekers vs Heavenly Bodies match at Night of Legends. Another small point is that there is also no consistency in Mark Curtis’ officiating. Here he is in this match trying to get Morton out the ring after the double dropkick, but the amount of times the Rock & Roll Express have hit that move on an opponent and then they will both cover him for the pin. I doubt many would even notice, but something that irked me about this match. INT: Rock & Roll Express & Bob Armstrong – post-match interview. Ricky wants to thank Bob Armstrong for coming out and letting them know what happened, as ever since The Gangstas have been in Smoky Mountain Wrestling they’ve tried to run over the Rock & Roll Express and use them as a stepping stone. Bob says not only was he watching because he was interested in the championship match, but the new Commissioner called him up and knowing the problems they’ve had with The Gangstas, asked him as a personal favour to watch the match and make sure nothing gets out of hand and that everyone gets a fair deal. The Rock & Roll Express didn’t get a fair deal, he saw Robert get hit in the head with a blackjack, and to him that’s not fair. They got the 1-2-3 in the end, they’re the rightful winners and they’re still the SMW tag team champions. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 5, 1994 Lance Storm & Brian Lee vs Brian Logan & The Inferno Recap of Boo Bradley attacking Cactus Jack from last week INT: Brian Lee & Cactus Jack - Lee says that he and Lance Storm had a word last week, they flipped a coin and he will be Jack’s partner against Chris Candido & Boo Bradley at Thanksgiving Thunder. Boo wanders out and he wants to apologise for what he did last week. He knows Cactus just wanted to be his friend and he only has one other friend besides Chris and Tammy. When they ask who that is, he says “Boots”. Tammy Fytch comes out carrying a cat and tells Boo what did she say would happen to his precious ‘Boots’ if he didn’t listen to her? Bradley runs off while it dawns on Les Thatcher, Cactus and Lee that ‘Boots’ is in fact the cat. Cactus then quips that he sees Boo Bradley isn’t the only man who’s fascination with a pussy has led him astray! INT: The Gangstas & D-Lo Brown - they’re in the streets and D-Lo is collection objects and weapons (pallets, fire extinguishers, metal bins etc) for the Ghetto Street Fight. New Jack says that the ‘Ghetto Street Fight’ is their kind of match and the Rock & Roll Express actually had the nerve to sign to face them in this? They’re going to use anything they can get their hands on to beat them with, and Ricky and Robert’s days are numbered. First they took their belts and now they are going to take their pride, at Thanksgiving Thunder, Rock & Roll is over. Boo Bradley (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Chad Austin INT: Tammy Fytch & Boo Bradley - Fytch says that Chris Candido will be back on TV next week and he’ll help her control this idiot, this fool, this bumbling, stupid goof! Until then if he wants his little kitten to be healthy and happy, he better do exactly what she says because he wouldn’t want anything to happen to her. Tammy is a proper bitch here, excellent in the role and you have real sympathy for Boo. Confrontation w/ Jim Cornette & Bob Armstrong - Cornette has Bruiser Bedlam with him, whilst Ron West from the Smoky Mountain Board of Director is also with them. Cornette requested this meeting as he wanted assurances, before Thanksgiving Thunder, that he’s not going to get hornswoggled again as last time Bob Armstrong lost a ‘Loser Leaves Smoky Mountain Wrestling’ match, all of a sudden a guy with the same body, the same old fossilized teeth, the same way of talking, a man named ‘The Bullet’ came to SMW. He doesn’t like cheaters and wants confirmation from Ron West that if Bob Armstrong is defeated by his man, Abdullah the Butcher at Thanksgiving Thunder, then he will be gone from Smoky Mountain Wrestling for good and will not be coming back under a mask? West confirms that everything is in place and should Bob Armstrong lose, then he will be gone. Jim Ross wants some clarity on what would happen if Armstrong wins, and West confirms that Jim Cornette will have to get on his hands and knees and crawl across the ring and kiss Armstrong’s feet. Cornette says that it will be a cold day in hell before that happens as Abdullah the Butcher has Bob Armstrong’s number and he’s going to carve him up like a Thanksgiving turkey. The Bullet says that words are cheap, but now they’ve heard from the Board of Directors that all stipulations will be followed, all he’s got to do is find some way to get round the Butcher and he can watch Cornette crawl across the ring and kiss his feet. Cornette doesn’t care if Abdullah gets locked up for the rest of his life, just as long as he does Bob Armstrong in first. Bryant Anderson (w/ Ole Anderson) vs Sean Casey INT: Bryant & Ole Anderson - Bryant’s not bothered if this no time limit match with Tracey Smothers goes all night. It was another notch on his belt tonight and Tracey’s going to be another statistic when he gets in the ring with him. Ole says that Bryant is better than he was, better than Gene was, he’s the wrestler of the future and is the man that’s going to take everything in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Jim Cornette training video - he’s on location training for this upcoming tag team match as he knows he’s got to get in shape to face Ron Wright. He is joined by Bruiser Bedlam but we sadly don’t see any training, it’s just Cornette telling a bunch of jokes about how old Wright is (I think we’ve heard them all before about Bob Armstrong). He tells the Dirty White Boy that if he cares anything about his so called ‘father figure’, he’ll send him to the Sunnydale rest home at Thanksgiving instead of sticking him in the ring with him as there’s nothing he likes more than tearing down a legend and humiliating someone in front of their home fans, crowd and family. Ron Wright was a big deal a long time ago, but now he’s just another sad, stinking old man that’s going to get hurt and going to get hurt bad. INT: Tony Anthony & Ron Wright - the Dirty White Boy says that it doesn’t look like Jim Cornette is taking it too seriously if that’s what he calls ‘training’. That’s fine with him though because at Thanksgiving Thunder he’s going to take Bruiser Bedlam and beat him unconscious and that’ll to leave Jim Cornette all for Ron Wright. Cornette might be devious, mean and a backstabber, but that’s nothing compared to Ron Wright as he wrote the book on mean, backstabbing and breaking the rules. Wright says he’s been laid up for weeks thinking and scheming with his wicked mind exactly what he’s going to do to Cornette. He’s got it all figured out and if he thinks the whipping that he gave him with the belt was bad, just wait until he gets done laying the East Tennessee dog whipping on him that he’s going to get the night of Thanksgiving Thunder. New Jack vs Ricky Morton - from last week, but the post-match brawl is shown in full INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says they are really excited about the ‘Ghetto Street Fight’ as it’s a match they asked for. The Gangstas came out and talk about being from Los Angeles and all they do is gang bang, fight and bust heads, well they’ve found out with the Rock & Roll Express to never judge a book by its cover. By the time they are through with at Thanksgiving Thunder they’ll be liable to go to jail but they don’t care, they only care about getting those Smoky Mountain Wrestling tag team titles back around their waist. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired November 12, 1994 ‘Thanksgiving Thunder Preview Special’ INT: Jim Cornette - he claims to be doing a little road work and in preparation for his match at Thanksgiving Thunder he’s going to run to Athens, GA. Later in the show however he will be back, and will have Ron Wright with him ready to be interviewed. Recap of Cactus Jack and Boo Bradley INT: Cactus Jack - says that people have always looked at Cactus Jack like he was a little bit different and he doesn’t know why. From day one he’s been persecuted, put down, been called bad names and he didn’t like it, so he did the only thing he knew to do and fought back. He is smart, but Boo Bradley may not have the mental capacity that Cactus Jack has, may not have the ability to reason. After everything that has gone down, he knows the only way to reach this man is to beat him to a pulp, and with Brian Lee as his partner they’ll make sure Boo Bradley, Chris Candido and Tammy Fytch never forget about Thanksgiving Thunder. Extensive recap about the Rock & Roll Express and The Gangstas INT: Rock & Roll Express Recap of the Bob Armstrong and Jim Cornette confrontation from last week Abdullah the Butcher music video - KISS ‘War Machine’ INT: Bob Armstrong - says it’s the final conflict at Thanksgiving Thunder and Jim Cornette has done what no-one else could do, he’s gone and gotten Abdullah the Butcher. Nobody can handle him and that’s why you don’t see him on TV in either the WWF or WCW, they won’t take the risk because he’s a complete lunatic. He’s got to put everything into this match because if he loses, he leaves. If he does win though it will be his last match as he’s going to go back to being the Commissioner. He’s had the word from the Board of Directors that Jim Cornette and his cronies can no longer mess with him and he can do his Commissioner’s job just like he’s always wanted and be fair with everyone. INT: Jim Cornette - he’s still training, doing a bit of jogging on the spot and shadow boxing but he’s clutching his chest and doubled over in pain. He’s forced Smoky Mountain Wrestling to force Bob Armstrong out on to TV next week and reveal who the new Commissioner has been. He believes it’s been Armstrong all along but The Bullet denies it. Next week he’s got to produce this Commissioner, and when he can’t because he doesn’t anyone to produce, he’ll have to admit to everyone that he’s a liar. Recap of Jim Cornette whipping Ron Wright INT: Tony Anthony & Ron Wright - Wright thought that Jim Cornette has a bit of sense in his head, but the day he beat him senseless with the strap was the day he revealed he was truly stupid. He’s got him in this tag team match at Thanksgiving Thunder and while he may not be able to wrestle with the ‘real’ wrestlers anymore, he can walk to the ring and beat him any day of the week. The Dirty White Boy says that Cornette might be able to out run Ron Wright, but he can’t out run him and if he tries to run away he’ll chase him down and hand him back to Ron Wright. INT: Jim Cornette - Jim Ross doesn’t think that Cornette is taking this situation with Ron Wright seriously, but Cornette says he is taking it seriously, as seriously as the heart attack he’s going to have when he gets in the ring. Ross says how Wright was a legend in East Tennessee, a multi-time Tennessee tag team champion, a multi-time Tennessee singles champion, was voted by the fans as the greatest wrestler in the history of Knoxville, was a great manager for twenty years, but most of all has the reputation as one of the meanest, toughest, low down athletes ever to compete. Cornette says that’s why he’s looking forward to it. If Muhammad Ali got in the ring today he could be pulverized by a guy with red hair and freckles because he is over the hill. He was a great in his day but he’s had his time and this is what Ron Wright is doing at Thanksgiving Thunder. His heart may still beat inside, barely, but his body can’t back it up anymore. He may have been the meanest main in Knoxville who beat everybody, but he retired twenty years ago with that reputation. When Ron Wright and the Dirty White Boy step in the ring with Bruiser Bedlam and himself at Thanksgiving Thunder Jim Cornette is going to have the chance of a lifetime. He’s never beaten another wrestler, another athlete, anybody, but he’s going to beat Ron Wright, a living legend, because he got back in the ring when he was 97 years old and couldn’t whip cream with an outboard motor. Bryant Anderson (w/ Ole Anderson) vs Tracey Smothers - Bryant gets the upset win and when Tracey offers him his hand Anderson cheap shots him. INT: Jim Cornette - he introduces Ron Wright, but Wright is in fact a toy skeleton. He says that this might not be Ron Wright, but it’s what the Dirty White Boy is going to look like after Bruiser Bedlam gets finished with him. Cornette says that he is going to tear Ron Wright apart and stomp him into the ground because he’s not a legend anymore, Jim Cornette is. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 13, 1994 ‘The Night of Legends Special’ Dick Slater & Bob Orton Jr. vs Ron Garvin & Mongolian Stomper (jip) INT: The Gangstas Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs The Thrillseekers - we get the complete entrances here that are missing from the commercial release Brian Lee & Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Rock & Roll Express (w/ Ricky Gibson) (jip) Hair vs Hair Match: Rock & Roll Express vs Brian Lee & Chris Candido (w/ Tammy Fytch) (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - Morton with an Oklahoma roll on Candido, but Mark Curtis is busy with Lee and Gibson in the corner. The Gangstas run out and Mustafa sneaks up behind Morton who still has the pin on Candido. New Jack is up on the apron by now and Mustafa grabs Morton and rams his head into New Jack’s. Morton falls backwards to the canvas and Candido covers him for the win to regain the tag team titles. Ricky gets on the mic, says that he is a man of his word and sits down on a chair in the middle of the ring ready to have his head shaved. Lee, Candido and Fytch all start mocking and taunting him, but when Candido slaps him across the face he fights back and Gibson goes for Lee. Double dropkick on Candido and then they turn their attention to Tammy Fytch. Primetime manages to pull her out of the ring and get her to the back, but this leaves Candido all alone and the Rock & Roll Express shave his head. INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says that he is a man of his word and was going to sit in that chair and get his head shaved, but Chris Candido just couldn’t leave it alone. He was right there, spitting in his face, slapping him upside his head and that’s the reason he fought back, got him down and then ran that razor through his hair. He turns his attention towards the Gangstas and says that they may have started it, but the Rock & Roll Express are the ones who’ll finish it. They talk about how tough and how bad they are, but they couldn’t whup half of them with the other half helping! Any time, any place, they are coming for them and they are going down. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired January 8, 1994 INT: Sandy Scott & Tracey Smothers - Scott says that as the time limit expired in the last ‘Beat the Champ’ match and it ended in a draw, he thinks that the fans deserve to see a winner, so they’ve ordered a rematch for today’s show. Smothers agrees with Scott that there should be a rematch. While he likes the money that comes your way with the TV title, he wants to prove to everyone, and himself, that he can beat Chris Candido. Rock & Roll Express vs The Hornet & Michael Collins INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says that everyone saw what happened at the Survivor Series and there are two reason why they lost the Smoky Mountain Wrestling tag team titles. First of all they didn’t know the rules of the WWF, and when Tom Prichard threw him over the top rope, Robert thought the match was over, second thing is that Jimmy Del Ray came off the top rope with a tennis racket on to Robert (clips of both instances air). They’ve got a rematch upcoming, and after which they’re not going to be five time SMW tag team champions, but six time! Mask vs Jim Cornette’s Hair: The Bullet vs Dick Murdoch (w/ Jim Cornette) (jip, from Knoxville, TN) - The Bullet with a headbutt to Murdoch and he covers him. Cornette rolls into the ring and is about to break up the pin attempt but is met with a big right from The Bullet. With him distracted, Murdoch takes a foreign object out of his trunks, puts it on his fist, drills The Bullet with it and gets the win. Cornette and Murdoch take a seat in the ring and Mark Curtis unmasks The Bullet, but he has another mask on underneath. The commentators try to paint it as The Bullet getting another one over on Cornette, but what a terrible payoff. The Bullet vs Dick Murdoch (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - Murdoch holds The Bullet and for some reason Cornette climbs to the top turnbuckle, but before he can come off, The Bullet escapes Murdoch’s grasp. He then throws Cornette off the turnbuckle on to Murdoch and cover him for the three. INT: The Bullet - dressing room interview. He says how James E. Cornette tried everything in his dirty bag of tricks to get rid of The Bullet, but he hasn’t done it. He’s fighting for a friend of his in Bob Armstrong and they both know now, more than ever, that SMW needs a Commissioner as Jim Cornette has got himself a friend on the Board of Directors and he’s heard that there are some shady dealings going on. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is not going to go down into the sewers and he doesn’t care what it takes. If Jim Cornette names the stipulations he’ll take them, as Bob Armstrong is going to be restored as the Commissioner, he needs to be if Smoky Mountain is to survive. INT: Chris Candido, Jim Cornette Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Chris Canyon & Rock Regal Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Mike & Doug Furnas (jip, from Johnson City) - all four men are in the ring when Doug and Tom Prichard head outside followed by referee Mark Curtis. Cornette sees an opportunity and is about to whack Mike with his racket but he turns round just in time. Mike turns his attention to Cornette and bodyslams him, but this allows Del Ray to get the football helmet out of the Furnas’ corner, hit Mike over the head with it and get the pin. INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - say that they will go anywhere, it doesn’t matter. So many teams come to Smoky Mountain Wrestling wanting things, the Steiner Brothers did, the Furnas brothers did and now the Rock & Roll Express do. They went to the sold out Boston Gardens and defeated the Rock & Rolls for the tag team titles in front of the largest crowd to ever witness a SMW match. Now they feel humiliated, their reputation has been ruined worldwide and they want a rematch, but they don’t care if they get a rematch. If they get back in the ring with the Heavenly Bodies again it won’t be their reputation that they ruin, but it will be their health. The only step they haven’t taken is running them completely out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and that’s what this is boiling down to. Down & Dirty w/ Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Dutch starts by airing highlights of the Brian Lee vs Tony Anthony vs Tracey Smothers triple threat match from Christmas Chaos. Lee and Smothers clash heads and Tracey ends up taking a tumble out of the ring. Lee distracts Mark Curtis and Chris Candido rushes out and gives him a brainbuster on the arena floor. He rolls him back in the ring and Lee gets the pin to eliminate Smothers from the match. It’s down to the Dirty White Boy and Brian Lee and the White Boy (who was taken out of the match early) is busted open. Fytch takes out the Dirty White Girl off camera and when Curtis sees her knocked down on the floor, he for some reason decides to forego the in ring action and go out to check on her. The White Boy with the Bucksnort Blaster, but no referee. Tammy sprays something in his eyes to break up the pin and Lee schoolboys him for the win and remains the Heavyweight champion. Curtis is such an idiot!. The White Girl goes for Lee after the match but she doesn’t fair well and he ends up holding her so that Tammy can hit her with the purse. With Anthony out of it, Smothers comes back out to save the White Girl, beats down Lee and puts him in the Figure Four. Fytch this time hits Smothers with her purse, Lee goes outside to pick up a steel chair and is about to waffle Tracey with it but the Dirty White Boy grabs it off him and nails Lee in the head with it instead. Back on Down & Dirty and Lee and Fytch have now joined Dutch. Lee says that they underestimated him, but it goes to show he can beat Smothers like a drum and beat the Dirty White Boy six days a week and twice on Sunday! He’s interrupted by Anthony and the Dirty White Girl, and the White Boy says he’s got the time, this is the place and an unscheduled match between the two just starts. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tony Anthony (w/ Dirty White Girl) - Anthony ducks a Lee clothesline and he hits Mark Curtis who gets taken out of the match (shock, horror!). Bucksnort Blaster and with no referee the Dirty White Girl gets in the ring and makes a three count. Fytch clocks the White Girl with her purse KO’ing her, and as the White Boy stalks Tammy, Lee nails him from behind. He holds him as Fytch starts to slap him, but the White Girl picks up the previously dropped purse, throws it to the White Boy and he starts hitting Primetime with it. The Moondogs vs Bruise Brothers (jip, from Johnson City) - one of the twins is covering Spot, but no referee (really!) as Mark Curtis was knocked into the ringpost on the outside. Rex nails the twin over the back with a ‘Stop’ sign and Spot rolls on top of him just as Curtis recovers to count the pin. The twins attack the Moondogs after the match and they brawl all the way to the back and beat each other with whatever weapons they can get their hands on. Very reminiscent of the Fantastics/Heavenly Bodies backstage brawl from ’92. INT: Jim Cornette - he has a letter from the SMW Board of Directors who have made a ruling on the Moondogs/Bruise Brothers situation. It was spearheaded by his good, close personal friend, Harry White of St. Louis, a Board Member who is currently on a cruise in the Bahamas on his mother’s yacht. It says that the SMW Board of Directors feel the Bruise Brothers instigated the incident in Johnson City as they followed the Moondogs to the back of the arena where all the damage was done, and therefore they have suspended them for six weeks pending further review. INT: Bruise Brothers - they say how Jim Cornette brings them up to Tennessee to take care of business but he can’t control them. They step out on their own and he can’t handle it, so he gets the Moondogs but they can’t control them either. He then gets his buddy on the Board of Directors to give them a six week suspension, but most of the time when they get in trouble they get 60-90 days so this is nothing. All it does is give them time to prepare and they’re coming back for the Moondogs. Tony Anthony music video - ZZ Top ‘Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers’ INT: Tracey Smothers, Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl Tracey Smothers vs Chris Candido - Candido takes a foreign object out of his trunks and puts it on his fist. Smothers evades a couple of punches, but when he lifts Candido up, he finally nails him and falls on top to get the win and become the new ‘Beat the Champ’ TV champion. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 28, 1993 Clintwood Elementary School, Clintwood, VA Rock & Roll Express vs Robbie Eagle & Dark Secret INT: Rock & Roll Express - they’ve a title shot against the Bruise Brothers on 9/11 in Morristown, and if they don’t win they’re going to let them shave their heads in the middle of the ring. Morton says that they’ve backed themselves up against their own wall. They’ve proven to the fans and themselves that they can beat the Bruise Brothers, but if they don’t beat them this time on 9/11 then they will shave their heads. INT: Jim Cornette - he’s at home, bandaged up, lay in his bed surrounded by all his fluffy toys and teddy bears while the Heavenly Bodies see to his every whim. He says that Bob Armstrong is a homicidal maniac who tried to mutilate him. If that isn’t bad enough, the day after the K-Town Showdown he went to the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Board of Directors and asked for his old job of Commissioner back. How can a guy like that, a pathological maniac, be making decisions on him and his men? They’d be done in Smoky Mountain. He therefore called his lawyers, had a few injunctions and grievances files and went to the Board of Directors himself. He told them that there is no way that he can ever be allowed to be in a position of authority again. He filed those injunctions and they stopped it. He still wants to get even with Bob Armstrong so made him a deal through his attorneys, and if he’ll take two matches of his choosing, then he’ll drop the injunctions and they can just see who the better man and who the Commissioner will be. The deal is that Armstrong is going to have to wrestle one match on 9/12 in Knoxville, TN and another on 9/17 in Johnson City, TN. For the match on 9/12 if Bob Armstrong wins then he becomes Commissioner, however if the man who he is bringing in wins, then he becomes Commissioner. On 9/17, if Armstrong loses that match then he has to leave Smoky Mountain Wrestling forever, but if his man loses that match, then he will leave Smoky Mountain forever; he is that confident and sure about these two men who he is bringing in. Everyone wants to know who they are, well 9/17 is going to be kept a secret and no-one is going to know. Could it be Yokozuna, Kevin Sullivan or Abdullah the Butcher? It could be anyone and Bob Armstrong won’t know until he steps in the ring at Freedom Hall that night. He can’t though resist to tell everyone about 9/12, as he’s going to be facing a man who is one of the wildest men ever in pro wrestling, a former NWA World Champion and is a homicidal maniac just like him, that man is Terry Funk. INT: Terry Funk - he says that he’s the judge, Jim Cornette is the jury and they’re trying Bob Armstrong for murder. He tried to kill the professional wrestling business and tried to kill Smoky Mountain Wrestling by putting his sons on television week after week when we all know that they are just a bunch of bastards looking for an easy buck! How could they have talent when their father has no talent? He is not going to be the Commissioner again and he is not going to defeat him. Armstrong better be ready because he is the best at what he does, is meaner than a rattlesnake, tougher than shoe leather, more dangerous than a hollow eyed scorpion and is coming for him on the 12th. Crazy interview from Funk who is sporting a rather strange bandana while the words ‘I’ll see you punks in Knoxville’ kept intermittently flashing up on the screen. INT: Bob Armstrong - says he never wanted to be a wrestler in the first place, he just wanted to get back in the ring, get even with Jim Cornette and that would be the end of it. He played a dangerous game and he lost. He has now said that he will stop his injunction if on 9/12 he wrestles a match to determine who will be the Commissioner, although Bob Caudle isn’t happy at all with the prospect of it being Cornette. The thing is he won’t be wrestling him, he’s hired the number one madman in all of wrestling Terry Funk to face him. Then five days later, he is bringing a surprise opponent for him to take on. He has called everyone he knows but Jim Cornette is keeping that person’s identity a secret and he can’t find out who it is. If he beats this person Cornette will be out of Smoky Mountain Wrestling for good, Caudle is very happy at this prospect mind, but if he loses he has to leave forever. It’s a tough road but the winnings are worth it. Those five days are the most important days of his life because he can be Commissioner once again, and get rid of Jim Cornette for good. Wonderful interview from Bob who is such a fantastic babyface. INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong, Bob Armstrong Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) vs Mike Sampson Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony & Ron Wright - Dutch congratulates the Dirty White Boy on retiring undefeated as the ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title holder and says it is a great day in Mr. Wright’s life, as today he is going to pay the bounty that he had placed on Tracey Smothers. The video from Fire on the Mountain airs and they recap the Smothers vs Brian Lee match and post-match attack on Tracey. We return to the studio and Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch have joined Wright and the Dirty White Boy on Down & Dirty. Ron has never been so happy and he’s so happy that he’s just about lost his voice. He’s taken the last $25,000 he has to get rid of Tracey Smothers and is proud to present it to the man who got rid of him, Brian Lee. The Dirty White Boy isn’t happy and says it was he who put Smothers out and not Lee. Wright says it was Lee who had the match, but Anthony again states that he was the one who took him out. Lee says that it was his match and no-one asked the Dirty White Boy to get involved. He had him in the Figure Four and could have broken his legs ten times without him. The two of them continue to argue, then Fytch says how Ronnie at first saw it like the Dirty White Boy did, but they sat him down, had a little talk about things and he now sees it the way Brian and she does (all the time while massaging his shoulders and kissing him on the head). Ron says he needs a double dose of his heart medicine and Fytch says they’re going to make their plane reservations and will send Ronnie a postcard. Fun segment. INT: Tim Horner - he’s been going round and round with Chris Candido, but it’s serious business now. He embarrassed him in front of his fans, embarrassed him in front of his family and that doesn’t cut it with him. When children are small and are being little brats, crying and whining around, you go get a belt, well that’s what he has done. He’s been to the Smoky Mountain Wrestling Board of Directors and has asked them for a ‘Country Whipping’ match which means they would be able to strap each other at any time during the match. Chris Candido vs Jason West - Candido starts to whip West after the match INT: Bruise Brothers - they say how they’ve beaten the Rock & Roll Express all across the state and now they want to put their hair up? “Well put you hair up!” They’re going to be running round Morristown bald and without the belts. After they get through with the Rock & Rolls they’re coming after the Armstrong’s and are going to take care of them too. Kevin Sullivan vs Steve Armstrong - the Bruise Brothers interfere for the DQ as we get another non-finish and they triple team Steve until Scott and Bob Armstrong make the save. Good TV match up until that point with some brawling around ringside and with Steve taking a couple of bumps into the audience. He throws a nice left and it’s another strong showing from him in Smoky Mountain. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Heavenly Bodies INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong - they would love nothing better than to have those Smoky Mountain Wrestling tag team belts around their waist if the Rock & Roll Express don’t beat them to it. Belts or no belts, they know where to kick a man to bring him to his knees, it doesn’t matter how tall he is. The Bruise Brothers may be big and bad but they can be had, and they’re going to prove that to them. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 21, 1993 ‘Fire on the Mountain ’93 Special’ Status Match: Steve Armstrong vs Jimmy Del Ray (w/ Jim Cornette) - Del Ray whips Steve into the ropes, Mark Curtis dives out the way and Cornette cracks Armstrong in the back with his tennis racket. Del Ray covers him (with his feet on the ropes for added leverage) and gives their team the advantage for Rage in the Cage. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch INT: Chris Candido - dressing room interview. Says “Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the way it used to be and the way I like it,” well it’s not the way Chris Candido likes it and sure as hell ain’t the way it used to be. Buddy Rogers would roll over in his grave if he knew they were sticking the real World champion in a match where you’ve got to drink from a baby bottle. Tonight he’s going to show everybody that he is not a crybaby, but Tim Horner is. They wouldn’t stick Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan in a match where you’ve got to drink from a baby bottle and he could beat either one of those guys. He’s the WWA World champion, he’s from Jersey and is going to show everyone why he is the real World champion and that it will be Tim Horner who will be drinking from that baby bottle. Baby Bottle Match: Chris Candido vs Tim Horner (extended highlights) - Mark Curtis is on the arena floor when Candido launches himself at Horner, who moves, and his momentum takes him flying over the top rope to the floor. Curtis assumes that Horner threw him over the top rope and DQ’s him. As they are still arguing over the decision, Candido nails Horner with his WWA belt, ties him to the ropes (but struggles to do so), then forces the baby bottle into his mouth. Lame finish aside, what aired was good. INT: Tim Horner - post-match dressing room interview. Says Chris Candido may have squirted a little milk on him, but he’s going to put something on him and it ain’t going to be milk! He’s got a lot more to worry about than that. Candido is out of here and he is the man to do it. INT: Kevin Sullivan - dressing room interview. He wonders if the Big Boss Man is the enforcer or the enforcee? What he’s going to do to him is criminal because he’s criminally insane. INT: Big Boss Man - dressing room interview. Says he was asked to come to Smoky Mountain Wrestling by Bob Armstrong to add a little law, order and justice to this situation and that starts tonight with Kevin Sullivan. He says that he’s criminally insane, well he agrees with that. He’s walking with the devil and he’s going to beat the devil out of him. Kevin Sullivan vs Big Boss Man (jip) - Jim Cornette and the Bruise Brothers come out and Cornette gets up on the ring apron wanting to talk to the Boss Man. The Boss Man snatches his racket off him and nails Sullivan with it enabling him to get the three count and the win. That’s three matches in and not one clean finish. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette - Cornette is in the backstage area at Fire on the Mountain outside the Big Boss Man’s dressing room knocking on his door trying to speak to him. Dutch disturbs him and Cornette almost has a heart attack. He asks what is going on in the life of Jim Cornette right now in Johnson City at the Rage in the Cage? Cornette says that he is trying to get hold of the Big Boss Man and just wants five minutes of his time before the Rage in the Cage. Everyone knows that they go back a long time but they haven’t spoken in years. He’s called him 35 times this week but he won’t return his phone calls, he’s sent three telegrams but he’s refused them. Maybe he thought they were bill collectors? He just wants five minutes of his time though as with the Rage in the Cage and K-Town Showdown, Bob Armstrong is trying to finish him off, right as Jim Cornette, the Heavenly Bodies and the Bruise Brothers are poised on the edge of dominating pro wrestling. Everyone saw him and the Bodies storm up to the WWF and challenge the Steiner Brothers to defend their World tag team titles against them and they have accepted that challenge. He has also aligned himself with Mr. Fuji and the WWF World Champion, Yokozuna, while the Bruise Brothers are still the Smoky Mountain Wrestling tag team champions. Jim Cornette stands poised to corner the market and have all the belts that mean anything in the world of wrestling under one umbrella, but Bob Armstrong wants to ruin those plans. He wants to hurt the Heavenly Bodies tonight so they can’t beat the Steiner Brothers for the WWF tag team titles, and he wants to get his revenge on him so that he can’t appear at Summerslam to manage them on their way to the WWF tag team titles and to prevent him from aligning himself with Yokozuna and guiding the Bruise Brothers. There is one key though, that key is who wins Rage in the Cage and that is why he’s trying to talk to the Big Boss Man. Jim Cornette is ready to dominate professional wrestling and Bob Armstrong is the only man who can pull the rug out from under him. One way or another it is going to be either him or The Bullet, this place isn’t big enough for both of them! INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - dressing room interview. Fytch can’t believe this is actually happening and they have to be associated with something that a filthy, dirty, disgusting, greasy coal miner is associated with. Even though Tracey Smothers loves her and can’t resist her, after this match he won’t be able to molest her anymore, won’t be able to try to attack her anymore and won’t even be able to walk anymore after Brian Lee gets through with him. INT: Tracey Smothers - Tammy Fytch slapped him in the face, sprayed that stuff in his eyes and forced him to lose the SMW Heavyweight title by giving that black glove to his former protégé Brian Lee. She calls him a bumpkin, a hillbilly and a redneck, well she’s right “I’m all of the above,” but he knows what a coal miner’s glove is and knows how to climb a tree. He’s going to scale that pole and knock him into the next area code and if he gets the chance, he’s going to bend Tammy Fytch over his knee and whip her like her Mama ought to have. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tracey Smothers (jip) INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong, Bob Armstrong INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch & Tony Anthony - dressing room interview. Fytch says that she knew Brian would win, there was no doubt about it, but Tracey Smothers is a woman beater. She knows he loves her, but he beat her right there and then and everyone saw it. Lee says that not only is he the SMW Heavyweight champion but he’s also just collected the $20,000 bounty that Ron Wright put up, because after what they did to Tracey Smothers tonight, he’ll never wrestle in Smoky Mountain ever again. The Dirty White Boy takes exception to this and says that he is going to collect the bounty as he is the one who did the damage. When Fytch tries to get involved the White Boy tells her to shut up before Lee tells him that no-one talks to his lady like that! Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 14, 1993 Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Larry Santo & Chris Comet - the twins are DQ’s when they throw Comet over the top rope to the floor Recap of Bruise Brothers and Rock & Roll Express from last week INT: Rock & Roll Express - say that they proved last week that the Bruise Brothers can be beat and the next step is to get those titles back around their waist and to represent all these people. They are part of Armstrong’s Army and Bruise Brothers, Heavenly Bodies and Jim Cornette, there are a lot of dues to be paid and they’re going to get paid tonight at the Rage in the Cage. Recap of Brian Lee vs Tim Horner from last week INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Fytch says that she is beginning to understand that Tracey Smothers can’t resist her and is so in love with her and she can’t blame him. What with all they women in Kentucky that hang around him and look like they do, what choice does he have? Lee says that yes Smothers does want to look like him, yes he does want his title, but the bottom line is he wants Tammy Fytch. She looks better than anything up in the hills, he’s never had anything like her and never will. He wants a ‘Coal Miner’s Glove’ match and that is fine with him as that’s exactly where he will be sending him, back to the coal mine. They’re coming in as champions and will be leaving as champions. INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong, Bob Armstrong Tony Anthony vs Joe Cazana - the Dirty White Boy is about to cut Cazana’s hair when out comes Bobby Blaze. He doesn’t fare too well and Anthony quickly gets the better of things and cuts off a bit of his mullet before Tracey Smothers (and then Tim Horner) makes the save. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette - Dutch opens by playing some pre-taped comments from the Big Boss Man filmed at the prison again. He says that big things are happening in Smoky Mountain Wrestling this week, law, order and justice are coming to town for one thing, and that’s Kevin Sullivan and he’s going to make sure he serves nothing but hard time. There is also the Rage in the Cage, ten men go in, five men come out, he’s the keeper of the key and is there to make sure law, order and justice are served and that no-one interferes. Finally, in Knoxville, TN this Friday night we’re having a Lumberjack match and may the best man win. He tells Cornette that he doesn’t want him thinking that their past dealings will have any outcome on the match. He has seen the light, and after Bob Armstrong gets through with him, he’ll be seeing nothing but light! Back in the studio and Dutch says that he is glad he isn’t Jim Cornette right now as he has to be a very troubled man at this point. Cornette says he has got hairs standing up on the back of his neck, he’s got chills going down his spine, he can’t sleep at night and the cause of all these problems is Bob Armstrong. Every top name in pro wrestling from the past ten years has tried to back him into a corner from Bill Watts to the Road Warriors to Dusty Rhodes to Jerry Lawler and no-one has ever been able to do it, then ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong comes along and thinks he’s this great Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Every time that he had the Heavenly Bodies ready to dominate he would stick his nose in and con Jim Cornette out of what he wants. Finally he’d had enough and gets him just where he wants in that Rage in the Cage as referee. His boys crucify him in the cage and he beats him half to death and enjoys every minute of it. So what does he do? He doesn’t retire like he should, but he goes back to the gym, gets in shape, gets his boys and they all come up here and start waging war on him, the Heavenly Bodies and the Bruise Brothers. Now he has gone and used his pull with the Board of Directors and got a Rage in the Cage match. He wants to get every member of his team handcuffed to the cage and leave him all on his own against all five members of Armstrong’s Army, and to make sure he gets what he wants, he’s gone and got the Big Boss Man as special referee. If it’s not bad enough that he’s putting him in a cage like some kind of animal, he gets him alone in Knoxville at the K-Town Showdown. He works it so he gets a lumberjack match with the members of Armstrong’s Army and Cornette’s Criminals all around the ring, each one carrying tennis rackets, and he gets the Big Boss Man as special referee in that one too. He’s gone even further by putting thousands of dollars on the line, and saying that if he doesn’t send Jim Cornette to that hospital, in that ambulance, just like he did him at Volunteer Slam, then he’ll refund the money of everybody that buys a ticket to the K-Town Showdown. Cornette then says it is down to all these fans who watch Smoky Mountain Wrestling that have made Bob Armstrong into a monster. The adulation, the adoration, making him a hero, that’s what has given him this big head by thinking he’s got to ride in like some white knight. He’s got to do something to get revenge, not only for himself and his family, but also these fans. Don’t they have any pity or compassion? The only thing he has ever done athletically is play tennis, Bob Armstrong has been a Marine, a fireman and a wrestler for 25 years. What do you think is going through his mind knowing he’s got to get in a cage and a Lumberjack match with a homicidal maniac? He wants the fans to ring, write, fax and get together a petition as they have to stop this before it’s too late. The only thing that sticks in his mind and makes him think that maybe he has a chance is the Big Boss Man. He’s not always been the man who keeps law and order, he used to know him when he thought about things differently. If he can get to him, if he can speak to him and get ten minutes with the Big Boss Man, then maybe the Rage in the Cage and that Lumberjack match in Knoxville are going to turn out just a little differently. Yes Bob Armstrong can kill him, but he’s just not convinced that he’s going to. Awesome interview where Cornette runs down everything and now the outcome is not quite as much of a foregone conclusion as may have been originally thought. Chris Candido vs Juicy Johnny - Candido puts a baby bottle in Johnny’s mouth after the match which brings out Tim Horner and the two of them get it on. Great over the top rope dive to the floor from Candido. They start fighting over the baby bottle and when Horner gets hold of it Candido scarpers and runs to the back with Horner in hot pursuit. Recap of when Tracey Smothers was shooting a commercial for Redman Auto Sales and Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch showed up INT: Tracey Smothers - says he was sat back and heard Tammy Fytch say that he was jealous of Brian Lee and that he is in love with her. He says that he has turned down better girls than her. She came into Smoky Mountain Wrestling and said she was suing them for sexual harassment, well he’s the one being harassed. She couldn’t get to manage him so she managed his student, a man he got started in the business. The ‘Coal Miner’s Glove’ match is coming down, the time for talking is over, he’s got everything to gain and nothing to lose and by the good grace of God, the support of these fans and a little bit of lady luck, he’ll be the SMW Heavyweight champion once again. INT: Jim Cornette INT: Brian Armstrong - Bob Caudle says that he is the youngest member of Armstrong’s Army and he is making his debut here in Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Armstrong says it is an honor to be here in Smoky Mountain and he’s just got out of the Marine Corp where he’d spent six years defending his country. He did go to Desert Storm and lived in a sand hole for 90 days of his life, so he has seen hard times and while this is a tough business he’s stepping into, he’s going to give it his all. He thinks about Jim Cornette and he is an American, he fought for America but doesn’t look at it like that. He risked his life for all these good people (the crowd) and not the likes of Cornette and his Mama. He is here to give it 110% and to support his family in any way that he can. Cornette and Killer Kyle join them and Cornette asks him did he come here to talk about his service record or professional wrestling. He starts insulting him from behind Kyle’s back saying how Armstrong has three confirmed kills but they’re probably all due to his breath. He asks him whether he has come out here to wrestle Robbie Eagle, Juicy Johnny or one of the big boys? If he wants to get his feet wet he can get in the ring with Killer Kyle and they can see what he is made of. Armstrong says that his father taught him to never back down from a challenge, so he will wrestle him and they’ll see if he has the right stuff or not. Killer Kyle (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Brian Armstrong - Cornette stays at the commentary desk and he asks if the Heavenly Bodies want to come and join him to watch this. Brian gets the pin after a Russian leg sweep but is immediately jumped by the Bodies and Kyle. Steve and Scott Armstrong run out to help their brother soon followed by Bob Armstrong and then the Bruise Brothers. The heels go to work on the Armstrong’s with Cornette’s tennis racket until the Rock & Roll Express make the save. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired August 7, 1993 Whitley County Middle School, Williamsburg, KY Steve & Scott Armstrong vs Juicy Johnny & Joe Cazana INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies - it amazes Tom Prichard that the guy who used to be Commissioner of Smoky Mountain Wrestling still has people in his pocket. You can tell that by the way they go and get some criminal like the Big Boss Man and lock him in a cage with them. No matter how you try to cut it and how you look at it, they’ve still got all the brains on their side. Bob Caudle says that the word is Jim Cornette is getting a little bit nervous. “You wouldn’t be nervous? Smoky Mountain Wrestling is sanctioning murder with a money back guarantee and you wouldn’t be nervous if this guy was coming after you? He’s a homicidal psychopath and he wants to kill me!” Cornette says he know why Armstrong knows so much about criminals as he’s done a genealogical survey of the Armstrong family. He proceeds to run down a whole host of Armstrong’s (he’s related to Buford Armstrong the first man to step inside a Georgia reformatory, his daughter was very successful in school, she was voted most likely to conceive etc.) and says that Bob is a filthy, stinking redneck. He hates his family, everything about him and they are nothing but thieves, cut throats, backstabbers, criminals and low life stinking unemployed bums! The Rage in the Cage isn’t going to go down the way he thinks and as for the K-Town Showdown, he’s working on his options. Yes he’s worried, Bob Armstrong has got a lot of money riding on hospitalizing him but he isn’t going to let it happen, neither are the Heavenly Bodies, neither are the Bruise Brothers and maybe neither will the Big Boss Man if he can just get 10 minutes with him before August 20. Good interview. INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong & Rock & Roll Express INT: Big Boss Man - from the prison exercise yard. Says that the ‘Rage in the Cage’ is coming down, five men against five men, it’s Armstrong’s Army versus Cornette’s Criminals. There has got to be a man that can handle all this madness, all this wildness and that’s the Big Boss Man. He’s going to make sure everything is fair and square in the match. All his life he has tried to walk the straight and narrow, his parents always told him to do what’s right and that way you’ll walk through life knowing what you’re doing is right. Well Kevin Sullivan has been walking, stepping on people and trying to ruin lives for long enough. Plain and simple crimes have been committed and Kevin Sullivan has got to pay by law, order and justice. Real good and intense interview from the Boss Man and can’t remember many (if any) like this in the WWF. Tony Anthony vs Chris Comet - Bobby Blaze joins them on commentary for this match INT: Chris Candido - he doesn’t like all this talks about pampers or about baby bottles, he’s the World Champion, he’s a ‘wrestler’ that’s what he does. Smoky Mountain Wrestling thinks it’s some real wrestling organization? In the WWA, a real wrestling promotion based in a real part of the country, Jersey, you never hear anything about baby bottles, pampers or anything ridiculous like that. He tells Tim Horner that he will take those matches against him because he knows there is no way he’s going to suck on a bottle or wear a diaper. He’s going to be calling his close personal friend Dennis Coraluzzo, the president of the WWA, about this and he may just come down to Smoky Mountain Wrestling himself. Down & Dirty w/ Bob Armstrong - Dutch opens by playing an Armstrong training video, purportedly taped somewhere in the jungles of South America. It shows The Bullet putting his men through their paces in the woods doing some exercises with them all wearing camouflage and face paint. Interspersed with this are clips of previous in ring action involving Armstrong’s Army and the Criminals. The Bullet says that Cornette’s reign will come to an end at Rage in the Cage. He’s got an Army behind him, they’ve been through maneuvers and are ready for any kind of warfare that Cornette wants as he has trained them hard. The keeper of the key, the Big Boss Man, is big and bad enough to see that no-one gets in the cage and when all the criminals are handcuffed he’s going to be left looking at The Bullet. He’s not going to be looking good because he’s going to be mad, is going to get even and they’ll see him in Freedom Hall. Campy in places, but tremendous whenever Bob is talking. Back on Down & Dirty and Dutch is now joined by The Bullet. Dutch says that the challenge Armstrong made for the K-Town Showdown is unheard of. If he doesn’t put Jim Cornette in hospital, the same hospital that he put Armstrong in, then he will refund everybody’s money that came to the arena that night and will also retire from wrestling. Armstrong says that is correct and he’s deadly serious. He owes him, he’s healed up and feels good. Cornette’s Mama fed him on lobster and caviar, whereas he and his boys grew up on grits and they didn’t do too bad. He says that he has been looking back through family trees and family history, well if he looks back in the archives he’ll find that Bullet Bob Armstrong was kicking butts in the Smoky Mountain area years ago, and was kicking butts while he was still sucking on his Mama’s pacifier. His word is his bond, Sandy Scott has a case full of money, it’s a lumberjack match and there is no way Cornette can get away. He belongs to him and he’ll put him down now and forever! The Bullet is so good in these segments. Excellent stuff yet again from him on the mic. Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Bobby Blaze & Larry Santo - just before the match gets going the Rock & Roll Express run down and into the ring. They have a quick word with Blaze and Santo then say that they are going to take a page out of Jim Cornette’s book. The people want to see a title match and if his team are the champions that they say they are, they will face them today. Cornette says he doesn’t care what they and these fans want to see. There isn’t going to be a match, the belts aren’t going to be on the line and there is nothing that they can do about it. The Bruise Brothers jump the Rock & Rolls and they have a very quick ‘match’. Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Rock & Roll Express - the Rock & Rolls get a quick win after hitting one of the twins with a double dropkick. Despite Cornette saying there will be no match, the referee counted the fall and the ring announcer announced the result. More an angle to prove that the Rock & Rolls are capable of pinning and defeating the Bruise Brothers. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruise Brothers - Bob Caudle says that the Rock & Roll Express proved it can be done and they can beat the Bruise Brothers. Cornette is irate. There was no match, the bell never rang, he never accepted the challenge, both of them pinned the guy, it wasn’t a legal match! One of the twins gets on the mic and says that the Rock & Rolls surprised them, but they’re still the champs and all the accomplished in the ring was to piss them off. INT: Tracey Smothers - says it’s a darn shame to see someone you helped get started in this sport turn into a no good, nothing happening, sleaze ball prima donna. He’s going to get his title back as is coming after Tammy Fytch too, promising to put her over his knee and spank her like her Mamma should have. Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Tim Horner - Horner attempts a crossbody block off the top but he ducks and hits Mark Curtis instead. The match continues without a referee and when Horner goes for his natural bridge roll up it brings out Chris Candido. The two of them start fighting and it allows Fytch the chance to pass Lee the black glove. Lee puts it on and then slugs Horner knocking him out. Curtis comes to and just as he is about to count three, Tracey Smothers slides in the ring and stops his hand from hitting the canvas. Curtis then sees the glove on Lee’s hand and DQ’s him. Lee swings at Smothers but he evades the shot and nails him with a dropkick. This gives him the chance to get the glove off Lee and put it on his own hand. Fytch sneaks into the ring and sprays something into Smothers’ face blinding him and allowing Lee to get the glove back. Just as he is about to clock Smothers with it Horner comes round and dropkicks Lee out of the ring. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Bob Caudle says that again we saw Brian Lee with the black glove and again we saw Tammy Futch spray something right into Tracey Smothers’ eyes. Fytch says “What did you expect?” Smothers is a woman beater, he tried to hit her and she has to carry protection. She can’t help it if every man in the world wants her and everyone can’t resist her. He came after her and tried to hit her, she had to protect herself. Lee says that Smothers is a woman beater, you saw him grab her. He’s just like the rest of these coal mining bumpkins, they see a real woman and they act like cavemen. They grab them by the hair, try to drag them round, they don’t know anything about a date or taking them to a movie, he’s a pervert! At this point Smothers shows up and enters the ring. He tells Lee they don’t have to wait and give him a title match right now. Lee goes to the ring at which point the show goes off the air as they have ran out of time. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 31, 1993 Whitley County Middle School, Williamsburg, KY Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Larry Santo & Chris Comet INT: Bob Armstrong - he is joined by the General Manager of Smoky Mountain Wrestling, Sandy Scott and first they replay the video from Knoxville where Jim Cornette pinned The Bullet. Armstrong says that was the most embarrassing match of his life; he’s wrestled some tough men and has been beaten by them, has beaten World champions, but that was the most embarrassing match ever. Over a quarter of a century he’s had a reputation, a reputation that he’s tried to build for him and his sons, but for this to happen in Knoxville puts a black spot on his heart and soul and it isn’t going to go unanswered. He has already run this by Sandy Scott and first of all, in Johnson City, they are going to have a ‘Rage in the Cage’. This is where this all started, it is where they beat his brains out, but this time he is going to be a participant in the match and not the referee. The referee this time will be none other than the Big Boss Man and it will be Armstrong’s Army against Cornette’s Criminals at Fire on the Mountain. Armstrong says that he wanted a personal one-on-one match with Cornette and Sandy Scott has granted him that. In Knoxville, TN he will take on Cornette in a Lumberjack match, however all the lumberjacks will be armed with tennis rackets. They are going to use the instrument that he himself has used to hurt so many people over these years on himself. He then promises that if he doesn’t beat Cornette in the match, doesn’t send him to the same hospital in the same ambulance that he sent him too, then he’s going to refund everyone in that building’s money and it will be the last match he ever wrestles. He will retire from wrestling and that’s an Armstrong guarantee. Armstrong was exceptional in explaining this, although I’m not too sure what the purpose of Sandy Scott being there was (as he just stood there like a statue), unless it was to add to the gravitas and importance of it. The refunding everyone in the building’s money does give away the result, although at least Armstrong had a case in which they claimed contained money to cover that, which Scott was looking after. INT: Jim Cornette Tim Horner vs Joe Cazana - Chris Candido joins them on commentary for this match INT: Tim Horner - he says that Chris Candido made the biggest mistake of his career last week. He has been to the Board of Directors of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and asked them for some special matches. Horner has a bag with him and pulls out a baby bottle and one of the matches is going to be a ‘Baby Bottle’ match and that means the loser is going to have to take a swig of milk from the bottle. He then pulls out some diapers and the implication is that the other match will be a ‘Diaper’ match where the loser has to wear them, although he doesn’t actually say this. As poor as ever from Horner. Down & Dirty w/ Tony Anthony - Dutch says how the Dirty White Boy has run into a situation with Bobby Blaze recently and questions whether he may have underestimated him slightly? The White Boy can’t believe that Dutch asked him that. No he didn’t underestimate anybody, he’s a thorn in his side, has whipped him all over the Smoky Mountain arena and is sick and tired of him being around. He then makes a challenge to Blaze. He will give him $100 for every minute he stays in the ring with him up to 10 minutes, if he lasts the 10 minutes he leaves $1,000 richer, he doesn’t even have to pin him. However if he beats Blaze before the 10 minutes is up, then he is going to shave his head right in the middle of the ring. They are joined by Blaze and he says that he hasn’t made a lot of money in this business, but that is too good an opportunity to turn down and accepts. Video of Tracey Smothers filming a commercial for Redman Auto Sales. Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch show up and Fytch says that when it comes to cars, Smothers is a Toyota, whilst Primetime is a Rolls Royce. Smothers responds by saying that Fytch knows plenty about cars as she’s been in the backseat of enough of them. Fytch slaps Tracey which leads to he and Lee fighting in the auto lot. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Tammy can’t believe Tracey Smothers attacked them the way that he did. She has called her lawyer and they could have him arrested for assault and battery. He’s just jealous that he doesn’t look like Brian, she isn’t his manager and he’s not the champion anymore. Lee says how Smothers has been jealous of him since day one, he sees that he now has the gold and now has the lady and wants a coal miner’s glove match. He’s going round saying that Brian Lee is using a black glove, that’s not a black glove, it’s a fist that is so quick it looks black because it’s on fire and smoking! When he hits Smothers with that black glove he’s going out 1-2-3 and Primetime will be going home with the gold as always. Really charismatic interview from Lee who shows tons of personality. No idea where this has come from? Tracey Smothers vs Juicy Johnny INT: Tracey Smothers - says it’s not hard to tell who wears the pants in the Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch relationship. Everyone knows he took that black glove, knocked him out and that is why he is the SMW Heavyweight champion. Well now the glove is up on a pole and he’s going to scale that pole and knock him into the next area code and be the Heavyweight champion once again. Tony Anthony vs Steve Armstrong - Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies join them on commentary for this match. With Armstrong in control, the Bodies go down to ringside and into the ring to attack him, quickly followed by Cornette. The Bodies stretch him out and Cornette unloads with tennis racket shots to the mid-section. He gets in four shots before Bob and Scott Armstrong (again carrying the baseball bat) rush out and they all flee the ring. Another decent match but with a terrible, cheap finish. Similarly to the Steve Armstrong vs Jimmy Del Ray match this is just a feud builder leading up to the Rage in the Cage. INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong INT: Rock & Roll Express - the interview opens with clips of a recent title match between them and the Bruise Brothers in Knoxville, TN where one of the twins whacked Morton in the head with his boot behind the referee’s back leading to him getting pinned. Morton says that the Bruise Brothers are one of the toughest teams that he and Robert have ever faced, but everyone just saw how they beat the Rock & Roll Express. They are going to take a page out of their own book and he challenges them to a title match. If they are the champions that they say they are then they will put the titles on the line next week, just like they did. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 24, 1993 Council High School, Council, VA Rock & Roll Express vs Jimmy Jannetty & Jeff Daniels INT: Rock & Roll Express - Robert Gibson says that he heard Dutch Mantel refer to them as ‘former’ champions, but that will only be for a short time as they’ve got something called the double dropkick, and when they hit that to the side of someone’s face they will go down. Ricky Morton says that the Bruise Brothers might be bad, but bring it on any time, any place cause they want their belts back, the fans want the belts back and they are going to get them back. Tracey Smothers vs Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) (jip, from Johnson City, TN) - Lee charges at Smothers who moves and he goes crashing into referee Mark Curtis. Dropkick from Smothers who covers Lee, but he then spots Fytch climbing into the ring. She goes to spray him in the face with some hairspray, but he grabs her arm and in the process she throws her handbag towards Lee. He takes a glove from the bag and puts it on his hand. Smothers puts Fytch over his knee ready to spank her but Lee stops him. He takes a swing at Tracey who ducks, gives Lee an atomic drop and as he rebounds off the ropes he clocks Smothers with the glove. Fytch rolls Curtis back into the ring (he had been bumped to the floor) and we have a new Heavyweight champion. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - dressing room interview. The interviewer questions them about the black glove that they pulled out of the handbag, but Fytch denies this and says they beat Smothers fair and square. She says now that she has the Heavyweight championship, she is now the first Lady of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and will be making some changes round here. Lee and Fytch are both very proud of themselves here and in full on gloating mode. INT: Tracey Smothers, Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Mike Sampson & Robbie Eagle - the twins are DQ’d when Cornette nails Sampson hard in the back with his tennis racket. Bob Caudle says that they have heard again from Kevin Sullivan’s attorneys demanding that all promotions from around the world reinstate him and allow him to wrestle. Sullivan is pressuring Smoky Mountain Wrestling to show the tape of his match against Yukihiro Kanemura from Tokyo, but SMW are sticking to their guns and refusing to show it as they say it’s too bloody to air. INT: Tracey Smothers - he says how everyone knows he got Brian Lee started in this business and it’s a shame to see what he has turned into. Brian Lee maybe the champion, but when he hit him with that glove he says he has never been hit so hard. It is clear to him that it is loaded with something and therefore has a challenge for him, a Coal Miner’s Glove match. If Lee accepts this challenge then he will again be the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight champion. Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette vs Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong (edited, from Knoxville, TN) - Cornette immediately sprays Scott in the face with something as soon as the Armstrong’s get in the ring to take him out of the match. With the heels having a 3 on 1 advantage (Steve had been thrown over the top rope to the floor), Scott runs back to the ring wearing an eye patch and carrying a baseball bat. He chases the Bodies out and around the ring leaving Bob and Cornette to it. The Bullet is in clear control at this point. However with Cornette down and Bob kneeling over and slapping him, Tom Prichard enters back in the ring and nails Armstrong in the back with a chair. He then rolls Cornette on top of him and Mark Curtis counts the fall to give them the win. Armstrong attacks Cornette after the match, but the Bruise Brothers come out to help their manager and they double team the Bullet. The Rock & Rolls Express make the save and an almighty fight ensues until The Bullet clears the ring with the baseball bat. Good stuff. INT: Heavenly Bodies & Jim Cornette - dressing room interview. Cornette is blown up and his back hurts but he says he has never felt better. He’s now not only sent ‘Bullet’ Bob Armstrong to the hospital, but he’s also beaten him in a wrestling match. He’s a bad man and is ready to take on anyone. He doesn’t care if it’s even Hulk Hogan, he’ll beat them all! Armstrong was a Marine, a fireman, has been a wrestler for 25 years and he beat him in the Knoxville Coliseum, his second home. He’s the greatest of all time! Very funny interview. INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong - Bob says that he has been wrestling for over a quarter of a century and no-one has ever done to him what Jim Cornette did. He’s taken a lot of beatings and has always come back and is not letting this one stand. One way or another he is going to find a way to get to Cornette. INT: Ron Wright - he’s so happy at the moment! Not only is he almost out of his wheelchair, but it looks like Brian Lee is going to go out and take care of Tracey Smothers and collect the $20,000 bounty that is on his head, whilst the Dirty White Boy is TV champion once again. They’re ready to defend that belt and make themselves another $1,000 right now. Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) is in the ring ready to face Tim Horner in his ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title defense when Horner comes out but still in his street wear. He is ‘limping’ and says that although he doesn’t miss many opportunities to get his hands on the Dirty White Boy, he pulled a hamstring while lacing his boots up. Dutch Mantel on commentary is shouting “bogus, bogus” and doesn’t believe him one bit. Horner then says he has got a suitable replacement and introduces ‘Underdog’, who is clearly a masked Bobby Blaze. Tony Anthony (w/ Ron Wright) vs Underdog - Anthony takes almost all of the match, but towards the end when the Underdog finally has an advantage and looks like he may win the title, the ring bell starts ringing. The camera pans to the timekeeper’s table and it turns out it is Ron Wright ringing the bell. Dutch speculates that the time had obviously expired and the timekeeper had gone to sleep. The Dirty White Boy DDT’s the Underdog a couple of times leaving him laying as he makes his exit. INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch, Jim Cornette INT: Tim Horner - he is joined by Chris Candido who says he feels embarrassed for Horner as last week he pulled his trunks down on TV and a few weeks ago he beat him with a chain. Despite this he still got the win, but then they reversed the decision. He says he was ready to stay in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and beat him up “Jersey style”, but is getting sick of people calling him a crybaby so is taking his belt and going home. Candido makes out as though he is leaving but blindsides Horner in the back of the head with his belt. He then pulls out a baby bottle and tries to put it in Horner’s mouth. Horner says it was all a joke at first but now it’s serious. You don’t come out and humiliate him in front of all his fans. He tells Candido he should’ve left because after this, when he gets through with him, he’ll wish he had. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 17, 1993 Council High School, Council, VA Brian Lee (w/ Tammy Fytch) vs Jimmy Jannetty Recap of Tracey Smothers and Brian Lee from last week’s Down & Dirty INT: Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch - Lee tells Tracey Smothers that he is nothing but a redneck and was jealous of him ever since his second week in the industry. He states that with Fytch by his side he’s going straight to the top. He was the first SMW Heavyweight champion and when he had it stolen from him everyone overlooked it, but now he is going to get back what is his. Fytch tells Lee that if he wins that title, he’ll get the biggest prize yet. INT: Tracey Smothers - he has been in the sport a long time and has never had a woman slap him like Tammy Fytch did last week. He tells her that if she lays her hands on him again she better be ready to face the consequences, as although he’s never touched a woman in all his time in the sport, he make an exception for her. He tells Lee if he wants the bounty and the SMW title he’s going to have to come through him to get them. Recap of Rock & Roll Express vs Bruise Brothers from last week INT: Rock & Roll Express - Ricky Morton says that it is like a reoccurring nightmare with Jim Cornette as now he’s got the Bruise Brothers to stand behind while he talks all big and bad. Morton tells him that the Armstrong family have created an army. The Armstrong boys are going to take care of the Heavenly Bodies, it’s up to them to take care of the Bruise Brothers, whilst they are going to save Cornette for the Bullet himself and it’ll happen sooner rather than later. INT: Rock & Roll Express, Bob Armstrong Bobby Blaze is in the ring scheduled to face Dutch Mantel in his ‘Beat the Champ’ TV title defense, when Dutch comes out and claimed he pulled a muscle in the back when putting his boots on. He went to find his good friend Ron Wright and told him about the predicament he is in and Wright told him that he could get him a replacement. He then introduces his replacement, The Mighty Yankee (a masked Tony Anthony). Bobby Blaze vs The Mighty Yankee (w/ Ron Wright) - Wright puts a foreign object in the Yankee’s mask, he then headbutts Blaze and gets the pin to be the new TV champion. INT: Bobby Blaze - he knows that it was the Dirty White Boy in there behind the mask and while he knew being TV champion wouldn’t last forever, he didn’t like being cheated out of the title. He tells the White Boy that he may have beaten him, but he didn’t break his spirit and he can’t make him quit. Down & Dirty w/ Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies & Bruise Brothers & Killer Kyle - Mantel says how his leg is killing him and Cornette appreciates him coming out there and interviewing them whilst he has an injury. Dutch claims that what we all saw Bob Armstrong do last week was attempted murder when he went after Cornette’s men with a baseball bat. They air the clip and Cornette says how Armstrong bought that deadly weapon, that baseball bat into the ring and cleaned house with it. He may think he’s going to beat up the Bruise Brothers, the Heavenly Bodies and Killer Kyle before getting to him, but that’s not going to happen. He calls them ‘Cornette’s Criminals’, but Cornette says Bob Armstrong ought to know all about criminals as he has it on good authority that his entire family has been getting arrested in the states of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee for the past 150 years. He’s a descendant of garbage and that makes him garbage and tells him not to band the word ‘criminal’ about just look at the odds he is facing. He has a rag tag army of his pencil necked sons and those has beens the Rock & Roll Express and he is going to put them up against the awesome power of the Bruise Brothers, the Heavenly Bodies, who have gone round the world defeating all comers, and Killer Kyle, a man who’s past will make you shudder. Armstrong’s Army will not be on the march, they will be on the retreat. The only thing Cornette is upset about is that Smoky Mountain Wrestling wouldn’t let the Bruise Brothers give the tag team belts to the Heavenly Bodies, but that still means that the Rock & Roll Express will have to beat the Bruise Brothers to get the belts back and that isn’t going to happen. Bob Caudle says how last week they announced Kevin Sullivan had been suspended worldwide due to his vicious attack on Yukihiro Kanemura. The tape is so gory that Caudle says they can’t show it on TV, however Sullivan’s attorneys have contacted them and are saying that Smoky Mountain Wrestling and promoters round the world are depriving him of making a living and are demanding the tape be shown to prove that he was provoked. Caudle says that they are standing by their decision, the tape won’t be shown and Kevin Sullivan remains suspended. Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong vs Mike Sampson & Robbie Eagle & Jeff Daniels - at various points throughout the match Ron & Don Harris, Jimmy Del Ray, Tom Prichard and Killer Kyle all come out to surround the ring. Just as the Armstrong’s get the win, Jim Cornette makes his way out, gives the signal and all his men jump in the ring and attack the Armstrong’s with Cornette himself taking out referee Flash Morris. Cornette then starts to hit Bob Armstrong in the sternum repeatedly again with his tennis racket, until the Rock & Roll Express (who have with them a baseball bat) make the save. Chris Candido vs Tim Horner - Horner gets the pin and Candido throws a temper tantrum in the ring afterwards. INT: Jim Cornette INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong & Rock & Roll Express - Bob says that Cornette’s Criminals failed again. They tried to take him out but his ribs have healed and hardened up and they didn’t get the job done. He is carrying the baseball with him which he refers to as the ‘Louisville Slugger’ and tells Cornette that when he brings his racket up against the ‘Slugger’, he’ll come out on the short end. Armstrong family tradition is to pay what you owe and they owe Cornette plenty and are going to pay in full. Bold matches are PWO recommended

Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 10, 1993 Council High School, Council, VA Bobby Blaze vs Mike Samson - Tony Anthony joins them on commentary for this match INT: Bobby Blaze - says he couldn’t be happier being the TV champion and collecting these winners cheques. He says that him defeating the Dirty White Boy may have been a fluke, the White Boy can beat him and beat him, but he’ll never make him quit. INT: Tracey Smothers, Bob Armstrong Recap of Tammy Fytch’s press conference from last week where she revealed Brian Lee as the first man that she will be managing in SMW Tracey Smothers vs Tim Horner (jip, from Morristown, TN) - Horner atomic drops Smothers and he collides with referee Mark Curtis knocking him down, however this knocks Smothers backwards and he clashed heads with Horner knocking both of them down too. Brian Lee and Tammy Fytch come down to ringside, and when Horner starts to get to his feet Lee clocks him with a black glove. When Smothers regains his senses he covers Horner, but at the count of two sees the crowd gesturing to something at ringside. He climbs out of the ring and sees Lee and Fytch hid on the floor. He and Lee get it on and Smothers has the advantage until Lee eventually nails him with the black glove and then puts the boots to him. Down & Dirty w/ Tracey Smothers - Dutch says that Tracey has had his fair share of trials and tribulations in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, but questions what caused this latest run in he had with Brian Lee? Smothers says that Tammy Fytch has swayed Lee’s thinking and has turned him against his friends and family with the cars, the swimming pools and the houses. He tells Lee that he helped him get started in the sport and when Kevin Sullivan busted his head open and half killed him, he went to the hospital with him. Now though he is going to try and put him in the hospital. They are then joined by Lee and Fytch and Lee tells him he is going to collect that $20,000 bounty that is on his head and take get the Heavyweight title he has too. Fytch says that Smothers had his chance to sign with her but she is glad he didn’t as she would be embarrassed if she had to bring a manure shovelling, country bumpkin like him around with her. Smothers then asks Lee if Fytch is his manager and did she buy him that car and the house? When he confirms she is and that she did, he says that makes a change as from what he has heard, people used to pay her for her services (Smothers butchers this line though). Fytch slaps Smothers and he and Lee start fighting. With Smothers on top Fytch grabs his hair and then sprays him in the face with hairspray temporary blinding him. Lee clotheslines Smothers and puts a beating on him until Steve & Scott Armstrong make the save. Bob Caudle announces that Kevin Sullivan faced Yukihiro Kanemura in Japan last week and again butchered and nearly blinded him. As a result, the Japanese promoters have suspended him, Smoky Mountain Wrestling has followed suit and their match at Summerblast has been cancelled. Rock & Roll Express vs Robbie Eagle & Jimmy Jannetty - before the match gets underway, the Bruise Brothers and Jim Cornette come out and the Brothers throw the jobbers out of the ring. Cornette gets on the mic and says how the jobbers didn’t look good enough to take on a team of the Rock & Roll Express’ calibre. He tells them they can put the tag titles on the line right now against the Bruise Brothers or they can turn round and admit to these rednecks that they’re a pair of yellow, stinking cowards. The Rock & Rolls hand the belts to Mark Curtis and accept the challenge. Rock & Roll Express vs Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) - double dropkick to one of the Bruise Brothers and as Mark Curtis tries to get Ricky Morton out of the ring the twins do a switcheroo. Robert Gibson picks up the twin that believes was the recipient of the dropkick but gets nailed with a clothesline. Gibson kicks out on two and Morton gets back in the ring to fight with the other twin. Curtis is distracted by them fighting, and when the legal Bruise Brother whips Gibson into the ropes Cornette cracks him in the back with his tennis racket. The twin covers him and we have new tag team champions. Fairly dull match, slow paced and the Bruise Brothers are pretty bad when they try to do a straight wrestling match and are not allowed to brawl or use weapons. INT: Jim Cornette & Bruise Brothers - Bob Caudle says what a miscarriage of justice that was, but Cornette says it was justice finally prevailing. He tells the Rock & Roll Express that they are finished, done, demoralized and next on their list is the dysfunctional Armstrong family. Bullet Bob maybe the General, but he’s the boss around Smoky Mountain Wrestling. He’s taken him out once and can do it again. With the Bruise Brothers, the Heavenly Bodies and Killer Kyle all behind him, there is no way that Armstrong’s Army can stop him. He says that they are going to give the belts to the Heavenly Bodies just as he promised and he’s going to give the Bruise Brothers the biggest one-day pay off they’ve ever made in their career. At this point the Rock & Roll Express storm the interview segment and go after the Bruise Brothers. They fight around ringside until eventually making their way into the ring. The Bodies rush out to help the twins with Steve & Scott Armstrong making the save and evening things up. Killer Kyle is out to give his side the advantage again and then Cornette gets up on the ring apron ready to get involved. At this point Bob Armstrong wielding a baseball bat comes out. He gets a few shots in on Kyle and the Bodies until the heels flee and clear the ring. INT: Bob & Steve & Scott Armstrong & Rock & Roll Express - Bob says that Armstrong’s Army are here to take care of Cornette’s Criminals. Jim Cornette started a war but they’re here to finish it. The General is back and The Bullet and his boys are here to stay! INT: Jim Cornette INT: Chris Candido - he’s in tears. He came to Smoky Mountain Wrestling to try and give it some credibility, defeated Tim Horner fair and square last week, but they said he cheated and reversed the decision. Horner comes out and tells him not to cry about it, but if he wants to straighten things out they can have a match next week. Candido says that he already beat him once but accepts anyway. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Aired July 3, 1993 Dutch Mantel says that due to the beating Bobby Blaze took last week, the interim Board of Commissioners have decided to grant him an extension to let him recover from his injuries. Bruise Brothers (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Robbie Eagle & Jeff Daniels - the Bruise Brothers are DQ’d for throwing down Mark Curtis and then beat on the jobbers after the match INT: Jim Cornette & Heavenly Bodies & Bruise Brothers & Killer Kyle - Cornette says that Summerblast begins this weekend; the Rock & Roll Express will come to an end at the hands of the Bruise Brothers and then Scott, Steve and old man Armstrong will face the Bodies and himself in a six-man tag match. Cornette has no doubt that Bullet Bob could break his neck with two fingers, but Armstrong has been hurt before and can be hurt again. The Heavenly Bodies will take care of his boys and Killer Kyle will always be around to protect him. One way or another, Bob Armstrong is not going to get the revenge that he’s sought for and while he will be in the ring, it will be to stand over his body once again as it is carted off to the hospital. Good interview. Tammy Fytch Press Conference - Tommy Noe is outside an apartment in the affluent part of Knoxville as this is where Tammy Fytch is residing during her stay in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and she has called a press conference to announce who she will be managing. Noe knocks on the door and is greeted by Fytch who is in her gown and she tells him to go round the back as this is where she will be holding the conference. They’re poolside and Fytch tells Noe that her man has some topics that he wants to discuss, so don’t ask him any questions as he won’t answer them. Fytch says how these hillbillies round here have been saying some bad things about her, knocking her a bit and whilst it got to her at first, she then realised that Hilary Clinton’s first 100 days were just like that too. Everyone knocked her, but now she is settled in the White House and ready to govern the country. Fytch says she is now ready to become the first lady of Smoky Mountain Wrestling and introduces her first charge and next SMW Heavyweight champion, Brian Lee. Noe can’t believe it, but Lee says that he is tired of being a big man living in a little man’s shadow. He says that Tracey Smothers gets everything handed to him, while Brian Lee never has anything handed to him. When Tracey Smothers was cheated for the title, Smoky Mountain Wrestling held the belt up, yet when he was cheated for the belt they didn’t even recognise it happened! When the bounty was put on Tracey Smothers, the Rock & Roll Express, Tim Horner and the Armstrong’s were all out to watch his back. Where were they when Kevin Sullivan put the bounty on him? Nowhere. He was put in hospital and laid up for two months and no-one watched his back, well now he will be watching his own back. He then plays footage of him defeating the Dirty White Boy for the ‘Beat the Champ’ title, but claims Smothers was only out there to try and steal his thunder and hog the limelight. He talks about how Smothers interrupted his interview time when he had become the first undefeated TV champion and he did that because he was jealous of him. Lee says that he is the top dog in Smoky Mountain Wrestling and got tired of that glory hound Smothers and gets them to show the video of his attack (the heel turn) on him. He tells Smothers that he is a pushover, is going to get the $20,000 bounty, the Heavyweight title and he’s going to regret the day that he crossed Tammy Fytch. Fytch says that you do a few favours for a man and they will do anything for you! When Noe questions her about how will she be able to control a man like Brian Lee, she says that she has no problem controlling any man before stripping down to her bikini. INT: Tracey Smothers, Steve & Scott Armstrong Killer Kyle vs Tracey Smothers Recap of Bobby Blaze vs Dirty White Boy from last week INT: Bobby Blaze - he’s all bruised and bandaged following the post-match attack. He says that last week when the Dirty White Boy looked across the ring and saw him, he saw a joke, so fooled around and made one mistake which cost him. People have been saying that it’s a fluke and they’re right. If they wrestled 100 times the Dirty White Boy would probably win 99 of them, but Bobby Blaze will never give up and will wait for that one time you make a mistake. INT: Ron Wright & Tony Anthony - Wright says that they’ve added an extra match to Summerblast ’93, the Dirty White Boy will face Bobby Blaze. He’s going to enjoy it so much with all the rules and regulations that it may end up restoring his health! INT: Chris Candido - he claims that his promotion, the WWA, is putting on a PPV event (“something that Smoky Mountain Wrestling never does”) with Arnold Schwarzenegger vs Sylvester Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme vs Mike Tyson and in the main event he will be defending his real World Heavyweight title. He is interrupted by Tim Horner who says that he has heard enough from Candido and most of the wrestlers and fans feel the same. He tells him that if you want to be somebody, to be a champion here, you go for the Heavyweight title, the TV title, or you get a partner and go for the tag team title. You don’t bring some souped up car tag and call yourself a champion. Candido says he’s the World champion and Horner can’t speak that way to him. He’s not scared of him and will wrestle him any time, any place. Horner says that there is a ring right here and they can get it on now. Candido appears to have second thoughts (he hasn’t warmed up!) and isn’t so cocky now, but reluctantly agrees and says that he’ll put the title on the line. Chris Candido vs Tim Horner - Candido gets the pin after nailing Horner with a chain and putting his feet on the ropes. Referee Mark Curtis spots the chain after counting but Candido quickly runs to the back with Horner and Curtis in pursuit. INT: Kevin Sullivan - he’s still in ‘Tokyo’ looking for Yukihiro Kanemura and is looking forward to their match at Summerblast. INT: Bob Armstrong - he tells Jim Cornette that the war starts this Thursday July 8, Armstrong’s Army will be taking no prisoners and he’s going to learn a lesson he should’ve learned a long time ago. He says that he’s been cleared, feels good, feels strong and payback is going to be slow and painful. This Summerblast tour is going to be Cornette’s farewell as it will be the end for him as Armstrong’s Army are heading his way. INT: Steve & Scott Armstrong & Rock & Roll Express INT: Jim Cornette Jimmy Del Ray (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Steve Armstrong - Armstrong hits a cross body off the top to Del Ray and as Mark Curtis is counting the pin, Cornette gets in the ring and hits him with his racket for the DQ. Tom Prichard comes out and they triple team Steve until Scott runs down for the save. Cornette beckons out the Bruise Brothers which again gives his team the advantage, only to see the Rock & Roll Express come out and they all brawl in the ring until the show goes off the air. Good match up until the terrible, cheap finish. I suppose it was a way to build to Summerblast but it was seriously groan worthy. Bold matches are PWO recommended
