Loss
Not much to say about this. Pretty good match. Ozaki has moments of brilliance in every match she is part of during this time, and this is no exception. Either Ozaki or Kudo is the best Joshi wrestler in 1997, and Kudo retired 1/3 of the way into the year, so I'll give the nod to Ozaki. There's infighting between Kaoru and Yamada, which gives Oz and Sato an opening to take the advantage. Not sure I really think much of Yamada at this point, as she seems to be past her prime. She's still fine physically, but not as much charisma as she had in the early 90s. Post-match angle with Kaoru and Yamada infighting while Oz and Sato gloat. Good stuff. No one can pour salt on a wound like Mayumi Ozaki.
soup23
Good match but nothing I will be able to remember a week from now. Karou's spots and dives in this match were the highlight to me along with Ozaki being overall good. The brawl and skirmish after the match looked more heated. GAEA had some peaks and valleys in 1997 from stuff we saw.
PeteF3
Pretty good stuff here, though there were higher-end GAEA matches in '96. Even though we've only gotten bits and pieces of the promotion in '97 it's hard not to see Oz Academy as being overpushed to the same level of the NWO and DX against stupid and ineffective babyfaces. Zenjo
Sugar had forgotten her ring attire so Ozaki let her borrow a spare outfit. The exchanges between Oz and Yamada were the highlight as they built a rivalry. Except Yamada was also feuding with her tag partner. GAEA storylines could get complicated. Decent match without being standout. Some sloppy work from Kaoru was a problem. It was therefore apt that she fell to Satoh in an upset finish.
