concrete1992
I figure I'd post this question here over some other places I frequent since I feel as though I'll get more of a response I'm looking for. Simply looking for some of the best tag team matches that have happened in indy wrestling. Tried looking through my wrestling collection but I've grown tired of the DGUSA and most ROH style matches on them so maybe there are matches that have gone underneath my radar that I could be pointed to. Thanks in advance.
Nighthawk
Does Chikara count as indy? Because if it does, Gargano\Taylor vs Kotoge\Harada from Burlington, NC is fun. Quackensaw vs Ares\Claudio for the tag belts means a lot if you get the backstory, but the work is solid enough without it. I'm trying to narrow down my favorite PWG tag match and i think Tozawa\Steen vs the Bucks at one of the DDT's is also spectacular.
NintendoLogic
Hardys/Serial Thrillaz from OMEGA.
concrete1992
CHIKARA certainly counts in this sort of question. Watched Danielson/Castagnoli vs. QuackSaw and it may be one of my favorite indy tag matches of all time. Thank you very much for the suggestions both Nighthawk and NintendoLogic. Keep 'em coming. Nighthawk
Motor City Machine Guns vs American Wolves from 2CW is good if only to see how much more polished the Guns and the Wolves are out of their respective bad environments (TNA's under-reliance on tag team wrestliing and ROH's over-indulgence of the worst parts of Richards and Edwards.) Mando
Offhand some strong stuff I've seen: The SAT v. Divine Storm/Brian XL - CZW 06/08/01 Masato Yoshino/Pac v. Naruki Doi/Ricochet - Dragon Gate USA "United: Philly" Michigan Militia vs. Grits N Gravy - Ladder Match - IWA Mid-South February Fury 2/06/09 (Some great bumps w/ Sami Callihan & Michael Elgin)
concrete1992
Was actually at that 2CW show. At the time it was a dream match for me. Fun stuff for sure Mando I have seen zero of those suggestions but that last one sticks out like something I'd love because SAMI!
Nighthawk
Also, Team Toryumon vs Milano and Skayde from the Tag World Grand Prix 2006 is really fun if you like tricked-out matwork.
Jimmy Redman
Danielson and Rod Strong beating the crap out of the Young Bucks at a DDT (2009?) was pretty fun.
MikeCampbell
The Colony vs. Chuck Taylor and Icarus double mask vs. double hair match from 2009 is excellent.
tim
Roderick Strong & Jack Evans vs. Jimmy Jacobs & BJ Whitmer from Manhattan Mayhem is one of my favorite ROH matches.
concrete1992
I love tricked out matwork. Watching The Colony vs. FIST from '09 was part of my inspiration for the thread since I watched that recently. I loathed it sadly.
