Loss
These guys were still obviously green, but they worked a solidly structured match and showed their potential pretty well. I didn't think this was great, but I did think this was a ton of fun. Magnum Tokyo looked to be the best all around performer of all these guys. Suwa's team was good, but also seemed to be doing a second rate KDX act.
soup23
Neat to see these guys start out. There is some suspect spots mostly the result of Dragon Kid who remains my least favorite DG and Torymon performer. I thought the Crazy Max team really gelled and worked as good foils against Tokyo. Tokyo and Cima are allowed to take center stage at the end of this to set up their rivalry. Good stuff and a good intro to these guys. PeteF3
There was some good promising stuff here but most everyone seemed like a shallow imitation of somebody else. Crazy Max = Kaientai (and boy did the commentary do them no favors in that regard), Dragon Kid = Rey Jr., Magnum Tokyo = Alex Wright, Ryo Saito brings to mind the ruthless spot-blowing efficiency of Sin Cara, etc. The coolest parts of this were Magnum's funky roll-ups and some of CIMA's offense. As for the rest...it's the same problem I have with most of the Toryumon I've seen in that they failed to really make me care who wins or loses.
