Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Vince has a visitor. He was clear that he didn't want any visitors outside of his family, but Mankind has showed up! He brings him a box of chocolates and some female entertainment - Yirple the Clown! He also brought Mr. Socko, which unexpectedly got huge. Vince and Foley are both great here. Later in the show, Vince requests a different nurse and something for the pain. The doctor ends up being Steve Austin in disguise. In a classic moment, he hits him over the head with the bedpan. This is among the most memorable stuff of the era.
Zenjo
Would it be utterly pedantic to point out that it was Yurple the Clown? She would also guest star in the highest rated segment in the history of television, bar none, ever. This was comedy gold with Foley and McMahon. Then Austin shows up and that bedpan sound effect was fantastic.
soup23
Great stuff all around and shocking at how memorable a five minute segment can be. From Yurple wanting to cheer vince up to him yelling Leave Dammit. "Ill take it from here nurse!" I love the punches to Vinces cast and his acting when Austin gives him the shock blasts. Really toed the line between comedy and violent. Wonderful segment.
PeteF3
Among many, many things to love about this: how the heart rate monitor rapidly increases the speed of its beeping when Vince is told he has a visitor. The teases--both the nurse's telling Vince that a big guy threatened to beat up the orderlies if he wasn't let in, and Mankind talking about "some female entertainment, if you know what I mean"--are awesome. And of course, the historic debut of Mr. Socko. And then they top themselves. Clearly this was a night of backstage babyface attacks, but this is even better than some pretty good Nitro segments. They cram 3 or 4 super-memorable spots in the span of about 30 seconds.
