Vince is still selling his embarrassment over what happened last week. He holds Austin responsible, but he also holds the WWF fans responsible for what happened. He claims that he has lost all faith in humanity and asks where the morals and values of WWF fans have gone. He recaps the events of last week, which gets a series of amazing pops. He chastises the stooges for not coming to his aid. He claims that despite re-injuring his ankle, his feelings are hurt more than anything. Tremendous. Austin placed a letter in Vince's pocket that didn't make sense at the time, but they followed up on it here, as it was a legal document. I presume further explanation is to come, but Austin is not fired. So anyone who bought Judgment Day got no champion decided and a bait-and-switch stipulation of Austin refereeing.

Does feel like a bait and switch from Judegment Day but this did bring more realism to me than the previous week which was welcome to see. Another great Vince promo as he has consistently been the best person on the mic this year.

Huge, huge heat for this--even by Vince's now-lofty standards. Vince is about to close out his monologue with a word of warning for Austin to take stock in something, but is interrupted by Steve on the TitanTron, who suggests Vince buy stock in Pamper's Diapers instead.
