Bunkhouse Buck went from someone I openly despised back when he was actually performing in WCW to a guy I now search out on occasion just to see if there is anything new available to find. The anti-moveset equation, Buck worked the untrained brawler gimmick exceptionally well with kicks, gouges and punches being his only form of offense. He also used a very awkward bumping style that in retrospect, worked with what he was trying to portray. Great facials and physical presence also and who didn't love how he would always shove down a camera man as part of his entrance?

I was NOT a Bunkhouse fan in my younger days. Thought he was one of the more boring guys in WCW and seeing him on Saturday Night or whatever the Sunday evening show was meant it was time to play with action figures.

I haven't revisited his Bunkhouse Buck days, but Jimmy Golden in Southeastern/Continental was an AWESOME heel. Very underrated promo guy:

(ignore the title, this starts with a great promo from Golden)

John Tenta/Earthquake seems like an obvious one. Grew up thinking fat wrestlers were dull. Watching him again he's clearly as entertaining as most of the circa 1990 roster.

Not a complete 180 but Roderick Strong has gone from someone I didn't want to see on my TV to somebody I think is having a solid year. This may be due to the fact he was working Cedric Alexander in ROH so much, who I am very high on.

I think Roddy is having a pretty solid year, also. I wouldn't call myself a fan, but he has simplified a lot of his ringwork, and the shithead bro heel work has been fun. And is really just an extension of his natural personality. Steen & Excalibur's dueling Roddy impressions on commentary at PWG are (were) always gold.
