Loss
--We don't have much more of an update on Kevin Nash's condition other than it was believed to have been a heart scare when he was rushed to the hospital on Saturday . He did not suffer a heart attack, but Nash did request that the hospital respect confidentiality as to what the exact ailment was. It is possible he has wrestled his last match. Whatever the problems, lets hope for a speedy recovery, and if his wrestling career is over, let's hope it's nothing that will adversely affect his acting career. --You knew it was going to happen and this is guaranteed to become a major issue. TV Week has an article today regarding WWE trying to get fans to skip the commercials on USA to watch continuing action on their web cast. "It devalues the position of the existing advertisers in the program, particularly since wrestling sells itself as having engaged fans," said Tim Spengler, director of national broadcast for Initiative. "Now you're talking about telling the most rabid of fans to switch to another platform when advertisers are wanting to talk to them. It sets a dangerous precedent." USA Network has said it has received no complaints from advertisers. Of course, it's doubtful most are aware yet of what is happening, and guaranteed they will be very soon. USA is defending the move, as marketing VP Chris McCumber said it could boost exposure to Raw because fans will tune to a computer in the same room during commercial breaks rather than go to the bathroom. I give them credit on that one for coming up with a viable explanation to tell advertisers, and trying to tell them it's a win-win for everyone. McCumber claimed WWE is not prompting people to go on-line during commercial breaks, which is up there with Muhammad Hassan being developed so people can understand the unfairness of being an Arab-American in the post 9/11 culture. He claimed what is happening is 60% of the people who would switch to other channels during the commercial breaks are not doing so now. The first point should be hilarious to anyone who knows about Meltzer's history of covering Kevin Nash's career. You can almost feel the smarm, if smarm can be felt. The second point is just creating more headaches to WWE because they don't think things through, which they deserve, as usual.
Guest TheShawshankRudotion
They thought it through, they just don't care about the consequences. And given WWE's history, they probably have good reason to believe that no one cares about what they are doing.

Strummer
The first point should be hilarious to anyone who knows about Meltzer's history of covering Kevin Nash's career. You can almost feel the smarm, if smarm can be felt. Could you elaborate on this. Is it something personal between the two or Meltzer just hates Nash's work? (ie with Hogan, Dusty, Backlund, etc.)
Guest teke184
Nash requesting the hospital not disclose his ailment has me wondering....drug related heart arrhythmia maybe? That's one thought. The other is that he went in with a "heart attack scare" like he did before Starrcade 1997 after he found out he was jobbing. I don't know either way but I'm certainly not taking whatever he says at face value.
sek69
My only comment on the WWF/USA thing: Do Vince's feet ever get sore from being shot so many times?
Mad Dog
It's probably Vince throwing a temper tantrum because he's not getting a piece of any of the ad revenue.

Marty
The live Raw tonight in Fresno features a three-way with Shawn Michaels vs. Big Show vs. Kane to help everyone make up "the right" choice for the Taboo Tuesday match This quote by Meltzer fit in nicely with the other two quotes as well.
