Short match where the referee is clearly in Creative Control's Pocket so Piper comes out and takes the ref out, takes over the match and counts the fall to give Goldberg and Bret the tag titles. Bret wishes Goldberg the best at Starrcade and says the best man will win.

Ah the old WWE staple of having guys main eventing for the title win the tag titles. Funny to see Bret praise Goldberg given what happens.

Y'know, someone who actually knew something about wrestling and was interested in making this match as good as possible could possibly put together some *build* to Goldberg getting involved, considering how hot the crowd was for him on the apron waiting for the hot tag. But we don't really get that, as Goldberg plays second fiddle to some drama involving Roddy Piper and the NWO referee.
