thebrainfollower
Imagine if the WWF was just New England based and this was your whole roster. Good luck!
Ricky Jackson
Apparently there was another show in LA the same day with Backlund, Snuka and some of the better workers, hence this motley crew
thebrainfollower
Darn it. He posted the June 77 show but WWE took it down within an hour. That had an Andre-Strongbow vs. Patera/Volkoff match on it I have been looking for for years. No idea why just like the strange pairings. Mad Dog
You know you're in for a treat with those jobber vs. jobber matches.

I remember being entertained by that match and the whole card in general
Matt D
Do I need to watch that Blackwell vs Bobo singles match?
thebrainfollower
If it's for Blackwell's spot in the GOAT, no you don't.
thebrainfollower
The tag match wasn't on the network IIRC.

thebrainfollower
Woot! He's put up the late August and Sept 77 MSG shows. One looks to be near complete at 2 hours long, the other about 90 minutes.
Matt D
I need to check out the Stasiak matches there. I absolutely love him in Portland but he his WWWF work has such a bad rap.
MikeF
The Graham/Putski match shows what a difference crowd heat can make. On paper, it sounds like a disaster, but that was a surprisingly fun match to watch. Awful finish, but surprisingly good nonetheless. A little disappointed with Bruno/Patera, thought it would've been a little better. Am I crazy or was the referee in the Fuji/Strongbow match a young(er) Percy Pringle/Paul Bearer? The Scicluna/Steele vs Garea/Zbyszko match was an absolute trainwreck.
Ricky Jackson
Graham vs Putski is actually a perfect example of the epic atmosphere I mentioned and how enjoyable it can make a match
MikeF
September '77 MSG - "I came a long way to kick your ass" lol. I've seen the October bullrope match several times, don't recall seeing the prelude before. Even when I was a little kid (which I was in the 70's), I never understood why fans didn't realize a count out meant no title change. Apparently, Dusty didn't realize it either. Backlund/Sharpe was interesting. You can see the seeds being sown for Backlund. Sharpe plays the classic arrogant for no particular reason heel role well, imo. Thank goodness for the curfew in the last match. 3 out of 5 falls? No thanks.
MikeF
March '79 MSG - Great back to back matches. Backlund/Valentine followed by Bruno/Koloff. Backlund/Valentine was really terrific. The crowd reaction to Backlund putting the figure four on Valentine was epic. Not crazy about the finish in the Bruno/Koloff match, but enjoyed it regardless. The six man tag felt like a wasted Dusty appearance. I don't remember Tony Garea being that bad when I was a kid, lol. Maivia/Putski was predictably dull, save for catching Maivia cussing out the referee and random people in the crowd. Some of the decisions given by the referee in curfew limit matches seemed puzzling, like this one for instance.
