TNA Re-Imagined

Grimmas

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to figure out what to do for fantasy booking. I've been mulling over a bunch of ideas from seeing what would happen if WCW or ECW didn't close to re-doing the brand split. What I have settled upon is taking the TNA concept and going with it.

TNA was really a great idea. Start a new national promotion to fill the gap of the dead WCW and ECW. The weekly ppvs was not a horrible idea. Memphis ran weekly shows at the Mid-South Coliseum and did well for decades. However, TNA started with a horrible name, lingerie battle royals and hardcore dwarf matches. It's easy to see why it barley survived.

What I am going to do is start TNA over with a new name, but with the same limitations. They will be running the same shows (weekly ppv from Alabama, then Nashville). I'll be doing this at a slow rate, so there will be no schedule. I do have some plans going forward though.

The Changes

First, the name. TNA is brutal and essentially limits them from the start. Go with "Impact Wrestling", that is perfectly acceptable. Keep the NWA alliance and the NWA World Title, NWA World Tag Titles and the NWA X Division Title. With keeping those titles you can add the tag line "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling. Of course the talent will be changed as I see fit, including using NWA affiliates like Zero1. That's probably enough blather, let's get to it.

Impact Wrestling #1 "Genesis"

June 19, 2002

Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama

An opening video package is played that shows some classic old-school NWA wrestling which then shows the phrase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show.

Don West is in the ring and introduces us to Impact Wrestling. He hypes the crowd before throwing it to the commentary team of Mike Tenay and Don Callis. They hype the main event "No Holds Barred" NWA World Title match between Champion Dan Severn and long time rival Ken Shamrock. We are going to start with the NWA X Division Title Tournament. The first round is this week and the semi-finals and finals will be all next week.

AJ Styles vs Super Crazy (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round)

This two have an athletic and exciting back and forth contest that Styles wins with the Styles Clash.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 11:15 to advance in the tournament

Backstage Jeremy Borash is with Masato Tanaka, Jeff Jarrett, and Scott Hall who were randomly drawn to be a team for a match later tonight. They are not happy to be teaming, but they will put their differences behind them to prove to the NWA championship committee that they each deserve World Title shots in the future.

Low Ki vs Dixie (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round)

A cat and mouse contest where Low Ki eventually gets the Ki Krusher for the win.

Winner: Low Ki @ 5:12 to advance in the tournament

Jeremy Borash is backstage with BG James and Ron Killings who are mad that they are not on the show. They demand respect going forward.

Christian York & Joey Matthews vs James Maritato & Tony Mamaluke (Top Contenders)

Callis & Tenay inform us the winners will get a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Champions The Sahne Twins, next week. A southern tag match with a lot of athletics. A miscommunication spot between Maritato and Mamaluke leads to Matthews pinning Mamaluke.

Winners: Christian York & Joey Matthews @ 8:06

Don West is backstage with a big bracket board for the X Division Title Tournament. He updates us that Low Ki and AJ Styles have advanced. The winner of the next match faces AJ next week and the winner of The Amazing Red and Homicide faces Low Ki.

Jerry Lynn vs Kid Kash (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round)

This match has more structure than the previous X Division matches with Kash playing the heel. Lynn makes a big comeback and wins with the Cradle Piledriver.

Winner: Jerry Lynn @ 12:46 to advance in the X Division Title Tournament

We go to a video package showing the weight ins for Shamrock and Severn from yesterday where some sparks flew.

Homicide vs The Amazing Red (NWA X Division Title Tournament - First Round)

Homicide was over confident and Red gets the surprise win with a hurrancanrana.

Winner; The Amazinged Red @ 11:01

Backstage Don West interviews Red and is really excited about the upset. Red wants to ride this momentum to take out Low Ki next week.

Steve Corino, CW Anderson, & Nelson Knight vs Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, & Masato Tanaka

After a nice shine sequence, Tanaka plays the face in peril. Jarrett and Hall show signs of good teamwork. In the end Jarrett gets The Stroke on Knight for the win. The three men celebrate together.

Winners: Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, & Masato Tanaka @ 12:02

Jeremy Borash brings out NWA legends Harley Race, Dory Funk Jr., Jackie Fargo, Bob Armstrong, Corsica Joe, Sarah Lee, Bill Behrens, and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Steamboat thanks all the fans for their years of support and can not wait to watch two legends like Severn and Shamrock go at it with "No Holds Barred".

NWA World Champion Dan Severn vs Ken Shamrock (No Holds Barred)

This is worked as a UFC super fight which is quick and aggressive. Severn gets caught in an Ankle Lock and taps out.

Winner: Ken Shamrock @ 6:12 to win the NWA World Heavyweight Title

As Shamrock celebrates as the new NWA World Champion, Tenay informs us that next week we will have our first over NWA X Division Champion as the tournament concludes. Plus York & Matthews challenge The Shane Twins for the NWA World Tag Team Champions. BG James & Ron Killings will also be in action.

Stupid Question Time: Dixie? As in Dixie Carter?

I honestly believe that TNA would have been fine if they just held a few things to be true:

1. Less is more.

2. The nobodies of today are the stars of tomorrow so book them like stars in order to see that tomorrow.

3. If an idea does not pass the WCW 2000 snuff test, do not (under any circumstance) execute that idea.

4. Keep Russo as an idea man and nothing more.

Dixie from japw and special k.

Your points I agree with and will be using.

Feels a little ECW-heavy to me for the opening show. Half of your performers (10 of 20) were ECW guys at the end. Maybe swap out Super Crazy for Psicosis (I know he had cameos in ECW but he's much more a WCW guy) and then perhaps Homicide for somebody like Elix Skipper or Kid Romeo (Homicide didn't have name value yet and the other two at least had national recognition) to really give Red a meaningful upset. Then instead of the FBI you go with Harris & Storm since they were to become such a big part of early TNA.

And as long as we're fantasy booking can we give Road Dogg a better name than BG James?

Love the idea. Curious where you take it.

The other guys are coming, Harris and Storm will get their push. Skipper & Romeo I had forgot about and if they didn't end up in WWE, they will be coming in too. Wanted FBI in that spot, because they were former champions.

I really should had done Psicosis on this show, instead of Crazy though.

As for Road Dog's name, I was just assuming he picked that name so we will go with that. I have some fun things planned for the Killings/James team going forward.

With Jarrett and Hall in there, I wanted the company to feel like a distinct something different than a crappy WCW clone. Maybe too much ECW on this show, but going forward the rest of the roster is not.

2002 was already the beginning of the era for exploiting ECW nostalgia. Just look at MLW.

I think that Japan leaves a lot of fun options. AJPW is full of free talent. And do we have any real reason to believe that Alexander Otsuka couldn't have been a globally transcendent star had he gotten some US bookings?

AJPW is fun... but I went with the Zero 1 connection instead.

Impact Wrestling #2 "Destination X"

June 26, 2002 (Taped June 19, 2002)

Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama

An opening video package is played that shows some classic old-school NWA wrestling which then shows the phrase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show.

A video highlighting the first round of the NWA X Division Tile Tournament is shown, which includes the brackets and shows an image of the title is aired.

Low Ki vs The Amazing Red (NWA X Division Title Tournament: Semi-Final)

The match is the same as the match from ROH Road to the Title match (recorded a few days before that).

Winner: Low Ki @ 11:16 to advance to the finals of the NWA X Division Title tournament

Mike Tenay and Don Callis are at the announce table and rave about the previous match. Jerry Lynn and AJ Styles will have quite the challenge in the finals to defeat Low Ki after that performance.

Jerry Lynn vs AJ Styles (NWA X Division Title Tournament: Semi-Final)

A more competitive match than the last one, but the Styles Clash gains the victory for Styles.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 14:53 to advance to the finals of the NWA X Division Title tournament.

Backstage Don West says that the championship committee will review who will be the #1 contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Title later tonight. BG James and Ron Killings approach and demand that one of them get the title shot. If anybody doubts them check out this next match.

BG James & Ron Killings vs Cassidy Riley & Chase Stevens

A surprisingly competitive match, but the cheating of James and Killings was too much.

Winners: BG James & Ron Killings @ 6:06

Jeremy Borash is backstage with "The King of Old School" Steve Corino and CW Anderson. Corino says the only reason they lost last week was, because he was teamed with that fat piece of shit Nelson Knight. Corino is a former NWA World Heavyweight and ECW World Heavyweight Champion and demands the title shot next week. If the Championship Committee does not rule in his favour, then all of Impact Wrestling will pay.

Doug Williams vs Norman Smiley

A match to help establish Doug Williams.

Winner: Doug Williams @ 6:23

NWA World Tag Team Champions The Shane Twins vs Christian York & Joey Matthews

The Shane Twins look dominate as Matthews plays face in peril. Of course there is a hot tag and York and Matthews grab the win and titles.

Winners: Christian York & Joey Matthews @ 12:42 to win the NWA World Tag Team Titles

Ricky Steamboat is backstage with Don West to make the announcement of who will get the NWA World Title shot next week on behalf of the Championship Committee. He mentions the six man tag last week and states that since Jarrett picked up the pinfall victory that he will face Ken Shamrock next week for the title. Jarrett comes up and thanks Scott Hall and Masato Tanaka for helping him to victory and that they will each receive shots once he wins the belt. He is then attacked by BG James and Ron Killings who take out his leg until security pulls them away.

Low Ki vs AJ Styles (NWA X Division Title Tournament: Final)

They go all out to have a great match and treat both men as equals here as this looked like the first match in a series to come.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 19:37 to win the NWA X Division Title

As Ricky Steamboat presents AJ Styles with the NWA X Division Title, Mike Tenay and Don Callis hype up next week's NWA World Title match between Ken Shamrock and Jeff Jarrett. That is, of course, if Jarrett can make the match. They have been informed that James Maritato will get a title shot against AJ Styles next week as well as Homicide looking for revenge against The Amazing Red where they both will bring in a tag team as partners in a six man tag match.

Impact Wrestling #3 "Jarrett vs Shamrock"

July 3, 2002

City Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee

An opening video package is played that shows some classic old-school NWA wrestling which then shows the phrase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show.

Don West is in the ring and introduces us to Impact Wrestling. He hypes the crowd talking about James Maritato challenging for the NWA X Division Champion AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett, with his injured leg, challenging the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ken Shamrock. He throws it to the new announce team of Maura Ranallo, Mike Tenay and Don Callis.

The announce crew talk about the World Title and X Division Title match, before turning to the upcoming opener. First up tonight is Homicide trying to avenge his loss to The Amazing Red. Each men will pick a tag team for this six-man tag opener. While talking Homicide's music hits and he comes to the ring and introduces his team that will commit the crime of rubbing out Red and his "friends". He brings out his friends from the hood in Da Hit Squad! The Amazing Red comes out with The SAT at his side. The announcers build up both teams.

Homicide & Da Hit Squad vs The Amazing Red & The SAT

The SAT and Red get in some amazing spots, while Homicide refuses to face Red one on one and only enters when Da Hit Squad gain the advantage. Red plays face in peril and finally tags SAT who go nuts with dives. Da Hit Squad are able to gain control and knock out Red. Instead of pinning him they tag in Homicide who nails a Cop Killa for the win.

Winners: Homcidie & Da Hit Squad @ 10:29

A video package is played with Kid Romeo and Elix Skipper walking around Nashville and being disgusted by the horses and food. The graphic says they are coming soon.

Kid Kash vs Shark Boy

Shark Boy is comedy, Kash crushes him.

Winner: Kid Kash @ 1:53

Before the match Jeremy Borash is with James Mitchell who informs us that The New Church is upon us and darkness will fall upon Impact Wrestling.

Slash & Cobain w/ James Mitchell vs Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick

A southern tag where both teams looked real good. Mitchell did help Slash and Cobain cheat to victory.

Winners: Slash & Cobain @ 9:44

Don West is backstage to announce the challenger for the NWA World Heavyweight Title next week and he brings out Scott Hall. Hall talks about winning so many titles in his past, but never the World Title. This will be his chance, whether it's against Shamrock or Jarrett. Either way they will be going down.

NWA X Division Champion AJ Styles vs James Maritato

Maritato tries to ground AJ and does a good job of it, until AJ's comeback. AJ hits the Styles Clash for the win.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 14:39 to retain the NWA X Division Title

Homicide & Da Hit Squad are with Jeremy Borash backstage and they say nobody is safe in Impact Wrestling and the X Division and Tag Titles are going home with them. Borash tries to bring up that Homicide only beat Red with lots of help, but Homicide points out that Red may never return after the beating he took tonight.

Steve Corino vs Vampire Warrior

Corino puts away Warrior quickly with the Old School Explosion.

Winner: Steve Corino @ 3:09

After the match Nelson Knight confronts Corino. The announcers pointed out that Corino blamed Knight for the six man tag lose on the debut show. As Knight gets in Corino's face, he is jumped by CW Anderson and Simon Diamond. As the beat down continues, security pulls them away. Corino, Anderson and Diamond hold up four fingers as the announcers speculate about what that all means.

On the way to the ring BG James and Ron Killings jump Jarrett again and take out his knee. Jarrett demands the match goes on anyway.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ken Shamrock vs Jeff Jarrett

Shamrock toys with Jarrett and really attacks the leg. Jarrett has a small comeback, but as he goes for the figure-four Shamrock turns that into the Ankle Lock submission and Jarrett has to tap out.

Winner: Ken Shamrock @ 11:40

The announcers hype up next week's Ken Shamrock title defense against Scott Hall. York & Matthews will also defend their NWA World Tag Team Titles against the incoming Dupp Brothers. What are the ramifications of Corino and his friends? What condition is Jarett and will he be able to stop James & Killings?

Impact Wrestling #4 "Outsider's Shot"

July 10, 2002

City Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee

An opening video package is played that shows some classic old-school NWA wrestling which then shows the phrase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show.

Don West is in the ring and welcomes everybody to Impact Wrestling. Tonight Scott Hall tries to fulfill his destiny by winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Ken Shamrock. Later tonight the match maker and the face of the Championship Committee will be introduced. As West is talking there is a disturbance in the crowd as Steve Corino, CW Anderson, and Simon Diamond make there way through it to the front row. West asks security to stop them, but Corino pulls three tickets as they sit down. West doesn't know what to say and he throws it to Maura Ranallo, Mike Tenay, and Don Callis.

Ranallo and Tenay are worried about these thugs at ringside, while Callis is pissed that Corino is not challenging for the World Title instead of sitting in the audience.

The Full Blooded Italians (James Maritato & Tony Mamaluke) vs Southern Comfort (Tracy Smothers & Chris Hamrick)

A normal southern tag with Hamrick playing the face in peril. Smothers gets the tag and the win over Mamaluke.

Winners: Southern Comfort @ 7:26

A video is played of Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo shopping for mantle's to put the NWA World Tag Team Titles they will eventually win on. However they are annoyed by all the southern accents in Tennessee.

Doug Williams vs Jimmy Yang

Williams gets the win with the Chaos Theory.

Winner: Doug Williams @ 5:33

Jeremy Borash is backstage and brings in James Mitchell. Mitchell proclaims The New Church is growing and this will mark the end of Impact Wrestling.

Low Ki, Dixie, & Kid Kash vs AJ Styles & The SAT

An epic match that isn't just a spot fest as AJ plays a long face in peril segment. Towards the finish Low Ki hit the Ki Krusher on Joel Maximo that looked to be for the win, but AJ nailed Ki with the Spinal Tap off the top knocking him out and Joel was put on top for the win.

Winners: AJ Styles & The SAT @ 20:01

The losing team is left in the ring as The New Church's music hits. Slash and Cobain come in the ring lead by James Mitchell to take out Dixie and Kid Kash. Low Ki composes himself after the lose and starts to turn the advantage back to his side, before Mitchell waves to the back and out comes Super Dragon. Dragon goes right after Low Ki and hits the Psycho Driver knocking him out. Mitchell celebrates as Slash, Cobain, and Super Dragon stand victorious.

Homicide w/ Da Hit Squad vs Psicosis

Homicide has quite the battle with Psicosis, but he has the help of the Da Hit Squad to gain the advantage.

Winner: Homicide @ 10:09

Don West is on the platform to introduce the new match maker for Impact Wrestling. He brings out the legendary wrestler "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. Armstrong says he is here to keep order in Impact Wrestling and give everybody a fair shot. That being said he warns Steve Corino and company to stay in their seats. He announces a deal he has made with Pro-Wrestling Zero1 that will bring in former NWA World Champion Shinya Hashimoto and former ECW World Champion Masato Tanaka to square off next week where the winner will get a title shot against whoever the champion is in two weeks.

NWA World Tag Team Champions Christian York & Joey Matthews vs Bo & Stan Dupp

The Dupps use every trick in the book, but York and Matthews pull out the win.

Winners: Christian York & Joey Matthews @ 10:02 to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles

As York and Matthews celebrate Kid Romeo and Elix Skipper appear at the entrance and take their time getting to the ring. During this time Shane Sewell and Brian Kendrick jump York and Matthews from ringside. They motion they want the titles as Skipper and Romeo get in the ring and in their face. They motion that they want the titles.

Don West is in the Event Centre and hypes up next week's show where Shinya Hashimoto and Masato Tanaka will determine who the number one contender is. Plus AJ Styles will defend the X Division Title against Dick Togo.

Backstage Jeremy Borash is with Scott Hall who has one shot tonight to become the World Champion. Borash asks if Hall was worried about Ron Killings and BG James interfering after what they did last week. Hall said that those two are Kliq rejects. Hall talked to Hunter last week and they said they were only kept around because they carried Hunter's bags. He doesn't sweat them.

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ken Shamrock vs Scott Hall

Hall looked to have the win wrapped up as he had Shamrock up for the Outsider's Edge, but BG James and Ron Killings came to ringside and took out Hall's knee. Shamrock put on the Ankle Lock for the tap out win.

Winner: Ken Shamrock @ 10:54 to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Title

As Shamrock celebrates the announcers notice that Corino, CW Anderson, and Simon Diamond are standing up and applauding. They raise four fingers and the announcers speculate if Shamrock is the fourth man they are alluding too.

Bold statement: Super Dragon is way more awesome than Brian Lee.

Love Styles-Togo coming up, too, of course. Dragon/Hash/Togo all on one show? This is a Black Terry-Bill Dundee match away from being Phil Schneider Promotions.

The FOURTH MAN is interesting, too, of course. It can't be anyone who clearly overshadows Corino but still someone credible. I wouldn't say who I'm guessing, but he'd make a good amount of sense in a Horseman-esque group and was around a lot in RL TNA.

Yeah, no idea why TNA did not bring in Dragon. The big thing on the undercard is going to revolve around Low Ki and Super Dragon, so that should be fun.

I'm curious who you thought the fourth man will be, but the reveal is coming.

Bischoff was big on Dragon, wasn't he? Of course, Bischoff's in McMahonistan at this point so he (plus Mike Modest, and Daniels to a lesser extent because he wasn't brought in full-time until early 2003) lost their advocate.

Who was picking talent for TNA? That early run seems so insane. Sure you bring in Wolfie D and Flash Flanagan, but you also bring in Ron Harris and Brian Lee. Also why wasn't Tracy Smothers on those shows in Nashville????

Lee and the Harris Brothers were Jarrett's guys. Then Prentice's crew (Flanagan & Wolfie, plus Chris Michaels, the Hot Shots and eventually AMW) and Behrens's Wildside guys (AJ, Rick Michaels, David Young, Killings) and I assume that he was behind most of the Northeast indie guys. Jorge Estrada & Sonny Siaki were Dusty's from TCW.

Looking stuff up, I had no clue that Monty Brown was a Sabu trainee.

Impact Wrestling #5 "Rising Suns"
July 17, 2002

Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee

An opening video package is played that show some classic NWA action then some current Impact Wrestling. It then shows each of the champions celebrating after winning their titles. What follows is the prhase "The Past, The Present, and The Future of Wrestling". The Impact Wrestling logo appears as we enter the arena and get a pyro show.

Don West is in the ring and welcomes everybody to Impact Wrestling. Tonight a new number one contender will be crowned as former ECW World Champion Masato Tanaka takes on former NWA World Champion Shinya Hashimoto. However first he would like to bring out Impact Wrestling match maker "Bullet" Bob Armstrong to address the Steve Corino and company situation. West first thanks Armstrong for making the great main event tonight as well as AJ Styles vs Dick Togo, but he is wondering what will be done about Steve Corino and company? Armstrong says they are not answering his calls, but he can't have talents like that sitting in the audience and not on the show. He has invited them here and would like them to come out. Steve Corino, CW Anderson, and Simon Diamond make there way to the ring holding up the four fingers. Armstrong asks what it is they want and Corino claims it may be too late. It's been 5 shows and Corino has not had a World Title shot. Armstrong says you have to earn it and if he wants to earn that spot, he can give him the opportunity. At this point Nelson Knight makes his return after the attacks weeks ago. Knight says he wants revenge, but he is not dumb enough to come out alone. Since Corino keeps raising the four fingers he has brought two men that know what that is all about. First, the stepbrother of former Horsemen member Carl Malekno and secondly one of the greatest Horesmen in history, Barry Windham. Knight, Malenko, and Windham approach the ring as Corino, Anderosn, and Diamond leave through the crowd. Armstrong books a six man tag next week between the two units.

The announcers talk about what a huge development that was. Tenay and Ranallo wonder if Corino and company are cowards, but Callis says they are just smart and picking their spots.

NWA X Division Champion AJ Styles vs Dick Togo

Togo pummels AJ a lot and hit a huge flying senton for what looked like the win, but AJ got his foot on the rope. AJ was then able to counter a power bomb into an inside cradle for the lucky victory.

Winner: AJ Styles @ 16:46

After the match Togo starred at AJ and the title as he left as Callis thinks AJ got lucky and Dick Togo is the future X Divisiion champion.

A video is played of former NFL player Monty Brown training for his debut next on Impact Wrestling.

Kid Romeo & Elix Skipper vs The SAT

An exciting match where in the end Romeo pulled the tights for the win. After the match Romeo and Skipper danced and made the motion that they are future tag team champions.

Winners: Kid Romeo & Elix Skipper @ 9:01

Jeremy Borash is backstage and brings in Homicide and Da Hit Squad for an interview. Borash asks if Homicide can get a win without the help of Da Hit Squad? Homicide and Da Hit Squad get pissed, pull the mic away and kick him out. They took Amazing Red out of Impact Wrestling. AJ Styles better watch his back, because the X Division title is coming to Homicide. York and Matthews better look out, because Da Hit Squad are the future tag team champions.

Super Dragon w/ James Mitchell vs Ace Steel

Super Dragon squashes Steel and looks like an unstoppable monster. The Pyscho Killer ends it.

Winner: Super Dragon @ 4:12

Jeremy Borash is backstage and he is with The Glamour Boys, Shane Sewell and Brian Kendrick. They heard that Impact Wrestling is where tag team wrestling is and they are here to win the belts. Last week they showed that York and Matthews do not compare to The Glamour Boys. Tonight Chris Harris and James Storm will see why they are the most glamorous team in all of wrestling.

The Glamour Boys vs Chris Harris & James Storm

A really good southern tag match that could had gone either way. Sliced Bread #2 by Brian on Harris gets the win.

Winners: The Glamour Boys @ 11:15

A video package shows Jeff Jarrett getting attacked by Ron Killings and BG James. Then him losing to NWA World Champion Ken Shamrock. It also shows Scott Hall getting taken out by Killings and James. The video ends with Jarrett and Hall returning to Impact Wrestling next week to make statements.

Jeremy Borash is backstage with Killings and James. Borash asks them what their reaction to Jarrett and Hall's return next week. They laugh it off, as their time is over. It is now time for The Krew to take off Impact Wrestling. Tonight Killings will take apart Devon Storm and then the NWA Title is coming their way.

Ron Killings w/ BG James vs Devon Storm

Storm puts up a good fight, but Killings gains the decisive victory.

Winner: Ron Killings @ 6:06

Don West is in the Event Centre and hypes up next week's massive show where the winner of the next match between Hashimoto and Tanaka will take on NWA World Champion Ken Shamrock. Plus former NFL star Monty Brown makes his in ring debut. There will also be a massive six man tag as Da Hit Squad and Homicide will face off against AJ Styles, Christian York, and Joey Matthews! Steve Corino, CW Anderson, and Simon Diamond into the ring to face the ragtag team of Nelson Knight, Carl Malenko, and Barry Windham! All this will be live next Wednesday evening!

Shinya Hashimoto vs Masato Tanaka (Top Contenders Match)

They go all out to have a great match here and to help establish Hashimoto as a bad ass.

Winner: Shinya Hashimoto @ 19:14

Hashimoto celebrates in the ring as Don Callis claims he is unstoppable and the next NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Tune in next week to find out.

Breaking news! Impact Wrestling's 10th episode will be a three hour special which will cost an additional $5. The rumour is "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson will debut on this show, and there will be an "Elimination Match" with Low Ki and others versus The New Church. This might be the show where Steve Corino gets his NWA World Title match and a big gimmick match between Jarrett & Hall vs James & Killings.

Honestly never heard of Carl Malenko until today. Interesting.

I like that you're using the likes of Ace Steel and Devon Storm as the jobbers they should be. One of the issues with actual TNA was their propensity to just randomly throw new guys out there with no build but then try to treat them as somehow legit. I get that they were throwing a ton of shit at the wall to see what might stick, but their inability (unwillingness?) to create a defined pecking order in the first 6 months was infuriating. I think that's one of the reasons ROH surged ahead of them in my eyes at the time, because in addition to consistently better matches, ROH developed a clearer booking philosophy right out of the shoot.

I'm reading with fingers crossed that The Krew remains just that and Konnan keeps his ass away from it, as he is my personal kryptonite when it comes to big-time pushed wrestlers.

The Sewell/Kendrick pairing is interesting. I like that you're making a few new tag teams rather than simply using established ones.

Looking forward to Dragon's debut.

The Sewell/Kendrick pairing is interesting. I like that you're making a few new tag teams rather than simply using established ones.

Looking forward to Dragon's debut.

Malenko was this really great wrestler in BattlARTS. Will fit right in with Danielson and Doug Williams.
