Mad Dog
Reading the Final Battle 2005 results got me thinking of chants that annoy me. Here's a list: "5 star match" "MOTY" "this is awesome" "ECW" - actually any chant that requires you chanting the companies name "holy shit" "can't see shit" "boring" "USA" towards foreigners, still acceptable for Duggan matches
Marty
"You fucked up!" This is making me think of Cactus Jack's second famous ECW promo.
Loss
Mad Dog, you stole all the good ones. The "TWO!" from the WWE crowd is sort of annoying as well, but not as bad as others.
Mad Dog
I think "you fucked up" is still funny when used properly. It's just fans are too quick to jump in with the chant. EDIT: Dueling chants need to die as well.
Guest Some Guy
The only chant that I don't want to die is "She's got Herpes!" USA chants should be reserved for matches between two non-Americans only. Like Bret vs. Yoko.
MyOwnSummer
I don't mind any chants aside from "You Fucked Up". I like hearing the crowd get into a match, wether or not I think the chants are clever.
Guest EastCoastJ
1) "You Sold Out" (almost never makes sense in the context of the situation fans chant it in) 2) Any song that is spontaneously performed by the crowd, including but not limited to "Ole" for Samoa Joe and the Star Spangled Banner by the Impact Zone. 3) "Abyss------ WHOOOOOOOAA-OHHHHHHHHH". A silly chant directed lovingly at a heel. 4) "Lucha Li----bre", as chanted by ECW fans or other smarmy fans during a match between two masked Mexican wrestlers. sek69
I thought the Ole song for Joe was funny when I first heard it, but I'm sure it gets annoying on a constant basis. The ROH fans chanting "Arigato" at Kobashi just struck me as pretentious for some reason, even Kenta had a sort of "wtf?" look on his face. "You fucked up" chants always pissed me off, since it's always the kind of fans Rick Rude would rip on (fat, out of shape...) who seem to start it. Plus it's disrespectful to the workers, when you fuck up at your job people don't gather around your desk and yell "YOU FUCKED UP, YOU FUCKED UP!" Guest SweetMama Scaat
Depends on where you work at, Sek. The "TWO!" from the WWE crowd is sort of annoying as well, but not as bad as others. I agree, but isnt this mainly in Canada, Thats the only time Ive seen a crowd do it. 3) "Abyss------ WHOOOOOOOAA-OHHHHHHHHH". A silly chant directed lovingly at a heel. We have a concurence. Whats that even mean? Is there some inside joke Im missing? "Boring" and "This match sucks" when the performers are trying really hard. "Eat a pizza! *clapclap clapclapclap*"- Directed towards the FBI "This is awesome!" before the match even starts "HOYT~!" repeatedly Chants I dont mind : The dueling chants in proper context; Styles and Williams for 30 minutes sure, Bently and Shelly and the match jus got started, no. Wait a lil while and be patient My current favorite "Joes gonna Kill You"
Coffey
"Eat a pizza! *clapclap clapclapclap*"- Directed towards the FBI It's actually "make my pizza" from the times I've heard it. The only chant I currently don't mind is "please don't tap" when a submission move is applied and the crowd doesn't want the match to end yet. Guest SweetMama Scaat
You havent been to house shows with me, Coffey. Id also like to mention that "go get tacos!" directed at the mexicools isnt as funny as it is stupid.
Guest TheShawshankRudotion
Dueling chants when the fans *take turns* chanting are retarded. The whole point is to rally more support than the other guys, so drown those fuckers out.
Guest SweetMama Scaat
What? Thats what makes them great and why sometimes crowd involment can be interesting to people analzying whats going on and yknow FUN for those in attendance. So if youre at a "real" Sporting event, you shouldnt cheer louder for your team than the other? Competition within a competition. It makes perfect sense. Guest Kilgore Trout
Ain't a damn thing wrong with the Ole chant. American fans need more of that sort of stuff instead of their dun-dun-dundun over and over again.

Yeah, I think that's my problem with it too. However, I still hate it because fans themselves are not workers (to an extent) and only *wish* they could have the skill level to work a match that the average worker has, let alone a good one. Mad Dog
I would like to see less chanting and more side taking on the indy scene. A lot of indy chanting can really work against what the wrestlers are trying to do in the ring. But I guess that's the point since a lot of indy fans are obsessed with getting themselves over. I'd like to see smarks cheering heels to go away as well.

I read reports of what sounded like a really good Charlie Haas match recently in Jersey All Pro, where the fans basically derailed the entire match chanting about Haas' new mustache, with chants like "Porno Mustache" that didn't die down from start to finish. I defer to Jim Cornette's comment about buying a ticket not making you part of the show.

So if youre at a "real" Sporting event, you shouldnt cheer louder for your team than the other? Competition within a competition. It makes perfect sense. I think you misread. Fans cheering for their respective favourites is fine. When two sets of fans are cheering for their respective favourites at the same time, is fine. When fans *take turns* ("Let's go AJ!" "Let's go Low Ki!" "Let's go AJ!" "Let's go Low Ki"), it's retarded. A good example of fans cheering over other fans is something like Randy Couture vs. Tito Ortiz, where you'd have people cheering for Tito initially, but then you have the Couture fans overwhelming their chant so it goes from "TITO! TITO! TITO!" to "RANDY! RANDY! RANDY!").
