I was at the PWF show talked about on this week's show, and I really liked it. At this time, I remember really preferring PWF to ROH, because I always felt like ROH booked matches, but PWF booked shows, if this makes sense. I think ROH got better about this as they went along, but it seemed like most of the ROH matches were very same-y around this time, but PWF had a greater variety. I went to as many of the PWF/World-1 shows I could from this time, and they were usually a ton of fun, and running the day after ROH shows let them use ROH fly in guys against guys they wouldn't necessarily have worked against in ROH.

Also, I think the Chi Chi Cruz described on this show is a different Chi Chi Cruz that worked in Winnipeg and Memphis. Almost positive about that.

It looks like you're right, but I recall that at the time, I thought he wasn't Corey Peloquin and then, at some point later, someone told me that he was. But I'm not sure how or when or why that happened and who told me it was Peloquin.

I take it Bix isn't a football fan by his butchering of the names Johan Cruyff and Gerd Muller! If anyone is interested in the North American Soccer League, I'd highly recommend both the book and documentary 'Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos'. Nice to hear a bit of talk on the Wedding Present too.

Add me as another who never knew Slugger was Harry Boatswain.

I was actually pretty disappointed in Fray as a guest. I am aware of him through twitter as he quite regularly gets re-tweeted onto my timeline, and was expecting lots of insight, interesting points, things I never knew etc. As it was he didn't add much and I lost count of the amount of times Kris would ask him about something (especially during the Philadelphia discussion) and he never knew about it, or he would ask Kris to explain something as he didn't know. Kris talks about the copious amounts of notes that he makes for these shows and I would've thought a guest would at least to a bit of research on the week, or some re-watching? Whilst some guests obviously do, it's a shame that some clearly don't. He clearly knows plenty about the present day scene (as evidenced by talking about it wherever possible) so maybe get him back when you do a BTS on 2016.

Fighting my way through the last part of the WWE section at 2x speed. I won't knock Fray. He's quicker at googling things than you are and that's a skill on the show I guess. Certainly Kris was getting a kick out of the gimmick, but never, ever have someone with a gimmick on again, guys.

Or if you really have to, at least just have it be Vandal Drummond as Lucky Pierre?

Good for him! Maybe if he had bothered to do a bit of research before they started taping the show then he wouldn't have needed to be googling about things as it was being recorded? When I listen to Between the Sheets it's for the insight of the hosts and the guests, it's for learning about things I never knew, it's about hearing things to go out and check, match recommendations etc. If the guest is having to google things (and I don't just mean the occasional thing here and there) as it's going on, what is the point of having them on? What insight can they add if they don't know what is being talked about? Anyway, as least I listened to all of this episode which automatically puts it above the dreadful episode where 'Les Moore' was a guest.

I may have been heaping false praise there (actually, Bix and Kris are very good at covering time when such things are being done). I don't necessarily mind someone, especially someone younger, being there to ask questions and for clarity. I agree that his biggest strength as a guest was to liken things back to 2016, of which a little goes a long way. All of that would have been okay to me if it wasn't for the gimmick and the fact that they were feeding it and getting way too much a kick out of it. I felt bad for Kris constantly giggling at it. Maybe they can have him back for an April Fools edition or something.
