LowBlowPodcast
WWF Wrestling Challenge Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby The Brain Heenan in studio Matches from Hamburg, PA – The Fieldhouse Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart defeated Johnny Rivera -A nice showcase for Valentine. We get an inset from Tito who says he is going to settle the score tonight with Valentine and win the King of the Ring!! *COMMERCIAL* KING OF THE RING EVENT CENTER Mean Gene: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the WWF Event Center, I am Gene Okerlund. Fans we are just hours away from the King of the Ring and it is going to be one of the most exciting WWF events of all time as we will see the top eight men in professional wrestling go after not only a crown and scepter but also the respect of everyone in the WWF. Before we get to the King of the Ring, I want to take a quick moment and talk about what happened last week on Superstars when we saw the debut of Blackjack Mulligan! Mulligan came to the aide of Sam Houston who was being beaten down and hurt by Ron Bass and Jack Lanza. Mulligan had these words for Bass… Blackjack Mulligan: Well lemme come right out and say it feels GOOD to be in the WWF and it feels even better to come out there and start a fight with a no good outlaw like Ron Bass. Bass you come out here and talk about being a true cowboy… well pal you must have fallen from your horse a couple times too many. Never before has a cowboy disrespected another like what you did last week. So now you walk out here with Jack Lanza, a man I know very very well and you act the way you act. You run down Sam Houston. Hell, I will take the courage of Sam Houston over anything the two of you have got combined! So Ron Bass… I am here… I am calling you out boy… one way or another… it is going to be time for us to take it out to the bunkhouse and see just who is the biggest and the baddest around! Mean Gene: I certainly wouldn’t want to be in Ron Bass’ shoes right now, but he does have a chance to show the world what he’s made of tonight in Los Angeles for the King of the Ring, but as we saw last week on Wrestling Challenge some people won’t get that chance. We saw the big battle royal for the final spot and in that battle royal; it was Larry Z who got shocked when Jay Youngblood dropkicked him over the top. Now, Larry Z has filed a full on complaint about the issue and says that it was David Sammartino, who did appear, that cost him the match and the spot… let’s hear from Larry… Larry Z: Now I know all you 9-5ers out there don’t know what it is like to live a life of luxury and be the best in the world at what you do, but you don’t understand what it feels like to have all of that taken away from you by a good for nothing punk who only has a job because of his daddy! David Sammartino, I am going to do to you what I did to your daddy a long time go and finish the job. You don’t belong in this sport. You don’t belong in the WWF. I came here for one thing and one thing only and that is the make sure that the Sammartino name goes down in disgrace as second best to Larry Z! Mean Gene: You have to say that Larry Z is definitely ready for a fight there. We will hear from Commissioner Sammartino next week and see what he has to say on the subject. Now we talked about Jay Youngblood getting his chance at the King of the Ring… however, his opponent, the Barbarian has been ruled out by his manager, Bobby Heenan. Heenan says that Barbarian is out, and he is about to tell us just who will take his place. Bobby Heenan: Let me tell all the humanoids out there something very quickly… as a man who prides himself on being the best, I always look for the best and the best is what I get. I spoke with the Barbarian the other day and even he has been dealing with some nagging injuries. This guy wrestles 7 days a week and twice on the weekends, it is bound to happen. Now I have my suspicions about who tried to hurt him… these masked guys… not sure who they are but I am going to figure it out… however… the real story is who is taking his place and I have found a man who epitomizes the sport of professional wrestling. He has been a champion everywhere he has wrestled. He is known throughout the world and he will be known here in the WWF as the King after tonight… ladies and gentlemen, and I use that term very loosely, HARLEY RACE!!! Harley Race: Don’t adjust your dial folks… what you see is reality. I spoke with Bobby Heenan and we have negotiated a contract that is fulfilling both of our needs. Number one… I am in the King of the Ring tonight and I will bet anything that I will win. Number two…. Once I win the King of the Ring, I am going to be the number one contender for that World’s Heavyweight Championship that Hulk Hogan carries around. You see right now Hogan it is just a belt, but when I get my hands on it, it becomes the real world title. I have beaten everyone in my path. I have destroyed careers. I have won titles. Tonight I win the King of the Ring and then… yes then Hulk Hogan… I am coming for you! Mean Gene: How about it fans, Harley Race has joined the WWF and he will be in the King of the Ring in Los Angeles tonight. This is going to be a historic evening and we will have all the outcomes right here on Superstars tomorrow fans! *COMMERCIAL* Bob Orton w/ Roddy Piper defeated Tony Zane -Heenan is just going nuts putting over Race but Gorilla wonders what will happen if Bundy wins tonight or even Piper down the line. Heenan says it doesn’t matter as long as the title isn’t around Hogan’s waist! Inside the ring, we see the Ace defeat Zane as Piper continues to run down Hogan to the fans. *COMMERCIAL* The British Bulldogs defeated Tony Falk & Terry Daniels -Tonight the Bulldogs get a real chance at glory when they face the Russians in a 2/3 Falls match. The crowd is one hundred percent behind them as they defeat Daniels and Falk today. What can they do against Ivan and Nikita tonight from Los Angeles? *COMMERCIAL* Tony Atlas vs Haku -A fun way to finish things off tonight as Heenan puts Haku over in the biggest way. We see a fun 8-minute match and the finish is great. Haku is looking to finish after he kicks Atlas in the throat. Atlas goes out of the ring and to the floor while Haku is talking to the referee. The referee then goes outside the ring to check on him while two masked men come out from under the ring and then hit a double clotheslines on Haku and a double suplex! Oblivious to all of this, the referee is able to help Tony Atlas to get back in the ring and make the cover for the victory. Heenan is going nuts about a conspiracy and wants to get to the bottom of this as we see Atlas try to recover and get a nice ovation from the fans. We finish the broadcast with a special hype video for tomorrows Superstars in which we will see the results of the King of the Ring!

Inside the ring, there is a 30-minute time limit and these guys go almost the full extent. We see the psychology of Roberts and the athleticism of Savage comes into play as these guys fight all over the ring and outside ring area. The finishing moments see Jake Roberts go for the DDT but Savage dumps him over his back. Savage goes to the top rope for the double axe handle smash but Roberts kicks him in the gut and then goes for a short arm clothesline but Savage ducks and pulls him over for a backslide and the 1…2…3!!! Savage is moving on! Savage is going to face Harley Race for the King of the Ring! Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan receives a BYE WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS The British Bulldogs vs The Russians © The FIRST FALL was decided when the Russians doubled up and hit Davey Boy Smith with the Russian chain outside the ring and he was not able to make the 10-count. Russians up 1-0 The SECOND FALL was decided when the Dynamite Kid hit a superplex on Ivan Koloff while Davey Boy held Nikita’s leg from outside the ring. Tied 1-1 The FINAL FALL was decided when Ivan Koloff was holding Dynamite, and Nikita Koloff went for a Russian Sickle but Dynamite ducked and we saw Nikita take Ivan’s head off! Dynamite then tackled Nikita outside to the ring as Ivan got up and then fell prey to a huge powerslam by Davey Boy for the 1…..2…..3!! WE HAVE NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!! FINALS Randy Savage w/ Elizabeth vs Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan -An instant classic here tonight with Savage and Race leaving it all on the line. Harley’s WWF debut has not gone unnoticed and he is primed for something but, but not so fast as Randy Savage is here and he shows Race that the crown isn’t his! This one has a 1-hour time limit and these guys go about 32-minutes and you can tell Race has seen better days in terms of endurance, but his mental abilities are something special. We see Bobby Heenan continuing to try and get involved and even tries to put his hands on Elizabeth. This is causing a distraction for Savage but the crowd pops when Jake Roberts comes down to the ring! He comes out and pushes away Heenan as the fight is outside the ring. Race goes back in the ring while Savage goes over to Heenan and then Roberts and him shake hands. Harley Race is talking to the referee and then Roberts turns Savage around and DDT! OMG! ROBERTS DDTS SAVAGE OUTSIDE THE RING! Roberts yells at Elizabeth and then puts Savage in the ring and walks off. Harley Race goes over and picks up Savage and PILEDRIVER! 1…..2….3!! HARLEY RACE HAS WON THE KING OF THE RING! Heenan is going nuts right now! He goes and grabs the crown and hands it to Race who holds it high in the air! WWF CHAMPIONSHIP Hulk Hogan © vs King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby Heenan -A great way to cap off the evening with Hogan and Bundy going toe-to-toe for 18 solid minutes. Bundy really works over the ribs and back of Hogan and softens him up in a big way. The biggest moment of the match happens when we see Roddy Piper and Bob Orton come down to the ring! They speak with Heenan as we see Bundy looking to finish. He even throws Hogan out to the wolves and Piper and Orton get their shots in. They toss Hogan back in and it is Bundy who is looking to put the final nail in the coffin if you will as he nails the AVALANCHE IN THE CORNER! Heenan is screaming FIVE COUNT! FIVE COUNT! FIVE COUNT! Bundy hits ANOTHER AVALANCHE IN THE CORNER and Hogan is out and goes down. Here comes a BIG SPLASH and that may just be all she wrote as Bundy covers and Heenan continues to scream FIVE COUNT as we see 1….2…..3…4….KICK OUT! KICK OUT! Hogan kicks out and he HULKS UP! We see Piper, Orton, and Heenan get involved before they get hammered and go to the floor. Hogan then with a big running double axe handle smash and he BODYSLAMS BUNDY! Hogan with the LEG DROP for the 1….2….3!! HOGAN HAS WON IT! Bundy is going nuts but now Heenan is complaining to the referee that Bundy had a 3 count! Pure insanity here at the King of the Ring as we see Hogan pose for the crowd to finish thngs off.

kevinmcfl
King of the Ring was perfect and your format is so easy to follow. I once saw that finish with King Kong Bundy and JYD where JYD kicked out a 4 and went on to win. It was great then and even better now as he can kind of claim that he is the champion and then Harley Race is sitting there next and then you still got Piper in the on deck circle. Hogan is going to have a tough spring. Great roster and everyone is in the right place.

Well let me tell you something right now… this man right here… huh…. This man is one of the toughest competitors in the sport of professional wrestling. He is 6 foot 2 and 255 pounds of pure mean man. He comes from Kansas City, Kansas. He doesn’t sit out on the beach like Hulk Hogan, he fights in bars and goes to the gym. Let me tell you something Hulk Hogan… I have got all the faith in the world that this guy… Bob Orton… he is gonna do you wrong man. He is going to put you down and then ol Bobby decided he was going to give me his prize. HAHA! Andre the Giant, you wanna be handcuffed to me… well lemme tell you something pal… you don’t throw rocks at a man with a machine gun pal and big boy, you just try me one time and see if you don’t have to PAY THE PIPER! The British Bulldogs of course think otherwise. Also on that card, the return on the Macho Man Randy Savage, he is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Greg Valentine. Let’s hear from them on that contest. Greg Valentine: I am not some guy off the street Savage… I was born into this business and that Intercontinental Title has got my name written all over it! Jimmy Hart: That’s right baby… Randy Savage thinks that woman Elizabeth is going to keep him whole, well here is the Hammer to break you apart baby! Greg Valentine: And Savage… I have been waiting a long time to get my hands on some gold in the WWF and even longer just to see what you are made of! Randy Savage: I guess when you get a title around your waist you become a hunted man… and a hunted man is what I have become. It was only a week ago at the King of the Ring that I was poised to capture the crown and become the Macho King but just like THAT! BOOM! DDT! LIGHTS OUT! Jake Roberts… don’t think for a second that I have forgotten about that brother, don’t think for a second that I don’t remember the pain that went through my body. But like a snake in the grass… when it comes to attacking something that may not be full strength, here comes Jimmy Hart and Greg Valentine. Well let me tell you something right now Jimmy Hart… I know your game… I know your ticks… Valentine… the only hammer that is going to happen is me putting this elbow right through your chest DIG IT! It doesn’t say VALENTINE and it never will… no no… IT NEVER WELL! *COMMERCIAL* Tito Santana defeated Jeff Gaylord -A fun showcase for Santana who hits the flying forearm on Gaylord. We hear from Ivan who says that Nikita is going to be unleashed and what we’ve seen thus far is nothing in comparison to what he will do to anyone in his path. That must be bad, because tonight he hits Ken Raper with a Russian Sickle that almost breaks his neck… leading to a stretcher job… The Russian Nightmare is about to be unleashed! What could the future hold for Dino Bravo? *COMMERCIAL* Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart defeated Omar Atlas -The Hammer looks fantastic tonight as he is primed and ready for his big title shot against the Macho Man next week in MSG! We hear from Jimmy Hart during the contest and he reminds us that the Macho Man is going to FEEL THE HAMMER! *COMMERCIAL* Blackjack Mulligan w/ Sam Houston defeated Johnny Rodz -Sam Houston is sporting his arm in a sling but that doesn’t stop him from cheering for Blackjack who looks good tonight. He handles Rodz with little to no problem. He finishes things off with a big claw hold and then a slam into the mat for the 3 count! We do get an inset from Ron Bass who says he would love to see Blackjack in the back lot for a brawl! *COMMERCIAL* EVENT CENTER Mean Gene: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the event center, I am Gene Okerlund. Fans in just one week we will see one of the biggest events the WWF has ever held inside of Madison Square Garden. Two title matches have been signed plus a big grudge match in which Hulk Hogan goes into a 15-foot high steel cage against King Kong Bundy. Bundy and his manager Bobby Heenan had this to say! Heenan: 1….2….3! That’s what happened Hogan. This man, King Kong Bundy defeated you 1…2….3! He should be the world champion, but no… you have got Bruno Sammartino in your pocket and it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Well the other thing that won’t surprise me, but may surprise all the humanoids out there is what will happen when Bundy steps inside that cage next week and tears you apart! Bundy: Hogan! You may have gotten lucky last time. I should be the champion right now. Next week it isn’t about the title… but it is about respect… the respect I am deserved… and the respect I am going to TAKE OUT OF YOU! Hulk Hogan: Humpty Bundy once Climbed on a Cage Wall and then Humpty Bundy took a fall. He took a fall and went right through the ring when Hulk Hogan picked him up over his head and then slammed him down through the mat all the way to the depths where he rose from. Bobby Heenan, you say that it is the Heenan Family… well I looked up the Heenan Family tree and it just kept going out than up brother. Humpty Bundy is a perfect example of a man who is writing a check that his weasel manager can’t cash. Well brother, inside Madison Square Garden, I am going to put you through that ring right into the Atlantic Ocean and climb out of the rubble, over top of the 15-foot high steel cage and then Bobby Heenan… I AM COMING FOR YOUUU!!! *COMMERCIAL* “King” Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan defeated Sonny King -The “King” is out here and he looks to be fresh. He handles Sonny King with no problem and we get to see all the premiere moves of Harley Race… the running high knee. The diving knee drop. The diving headbutt. He finishes thing off with a big PILEDRIVER for the 3 count. The King has his crown put on by Bobby Heenan and he looks as regal as can be! *COMMERCIAL* SD Jones vs Larry Z -A fun little main event with SD doing some good work. He puts Larry Z over as a legit threat but then we see Larry Z really turn it on. He is all over SD Jones and then looks to finish with the swinging neckbreaker. He looks to finish but out of the back here comes David Sammartino! Sammartino is trying to get Larry’s attention and when he does Larry is screaming at him. He then turns around and SD Jones is running with a big drop kick right in Larry Z’s mush! He covers him for the 1…2…..3!! SD JONES WITH THE VICTORY! The crowd is going nuts here as SD Jones comes out and celebrates with David as they work the crowd. Larry Z is going nuts kicking the ropes and screaming. Jesse and Vince put this over and wonder when Larry Z and David will settle their issue!
