soup23
This is billed like a mixed tag in a way but the seconds only came in to deliver weapon shots that ended up being backfired. Oriental and Pentagon did most of the other work and it was mostly solid with a few awkward spots here and there. Nothing terrible overall but nothing that felt really consequential either. I also guess this was a hair match which makes it feel worse in retrospect that the intensity wasn’t there. Rossy Moreno shaves their hair as they get interviewed. **1/
Loss
Good match that I liked more than anything we've seen out of AAA so far. The interference from the seconds was weird in that I don't really know what it added to the match, and it made for a few awkward moments. Otherwise, the wrestlers were perfectly fine. I don't know, a three-star match for this company feels like something worth celebrating. I agree that it was in no way what a hair match "should" be for those of us who formed that standard based on CMLL, but just as a match, it was well-worked. ***
Tim Evans
I thought this was real bad. Between the clipping, the crowd shots, the awkward weapons shots and Tirantes Jr.'s slow counts a lot went against this. Pentagon in Yellow gear is weird and I loved Oriental's finish. Just lacked the heat of a usual AAA hair match.
Moonsault Marvin
I was wondering how guys in masks were going to have a hair match, so it finally made sense when the woman accompanying Oriental had to shave her head. I kept waiting for them to ramp up the hate, but it never happened. Maybe if it wasn't clipped, it would have been better. Below Average. AstroBoy
This felt like a comedy match and had a real lack of flow/consequence. The clipping makes it jarring, sure, but we seem to mostly get a few big dives followed by some back and forth in the ring to lead to the interference from the seconds. Two accidental chairshots, including one that was very clunky in setup, lead to Octagon coming out on top in a pretty lackluster and strange match.
