JKWebb
"The Colossal Jostle" @ MSG King Kong Bundy had interfered in one of Andre's previous matches and delivered several splashes giving the big man a "broken sternum," so Andre is out for revenge here. They lock up and Andre gives him a huge chop, chokes him, and another humungous chop sends Bundy out to the floor to think about it. Bundy comes in and they start going back and forth. The MSG crowd is eating it up, and it feels like big moment. At one point, Andre delivers a big headbutt to Bundy, which sends Bundy over the ropes and to the floor! AWESOME bump from Bundy. If you like seeing two big dudes square off and punish each other some pretty big blows, then I think you'd enjoy this match. Of course, there are some good moments where Bundy is standing on the sternum and dropping knees in that area. This is a fun encounter without a clean finish. Kadaveri
This was pretty good. Thought the legvine submission Andre had Bundy in went on a bit too long although I'm aware it was part of the WWF style at the time. There's only so many minutes you can both lie on the floor before the crowd starts getting bored although Jimmy Hart on the outside does his best to keep people animated. Once Bundy's out of it though things kick up again, that headbutt sell when he goes flying out the ring was fantastic. Andre's selling of the sternum is good and the match seemed to just about get to another let when he counters Bundy with a big boot but then we get the interference. ***
Beast
The never-ending legvine kills the momentum of the match, quality-wise, but the crowd loved it so good for Andre. It's real fun watch two behemoths go at each other and I was impressed with a lot of what I saw. Andre is super fierce and legitimately feels dangerous, while Bundy gives some right back while also taking some impressive bumps. The highlight of the match and probably the entire MSG card is Bundy taking a header to the outside and slamming onto a table before falling to the ground. It's such an out of control bump, especially for a 450 lb guy to take and it's an amazing sight. Overall, this is an effective continuation of the Andre vs. Bundy/Studd/Heenan feud and it does it's job in cementing the heel tandem as this is right as Bobby trades for Bundy.
