The roster are all in the ring, wearing their orange tracksuits. Baba says a few words. It's nice to see him smile.

 

I have never noticed before, but from a certain angle Giant Baba looks like a face-stretched Leonard Nimoy. (or maybe just a face-stretched Spock)

Always fun seeing the guys trot out there in their jumpsuits and Baba giving a welcome to the fans for another year of AJPW action. A Korakuen tradition.

its really cool to see this particular New Years introduction because its the start of a new decade. Thinking about all the changes the promotion will go through and all the matches well see adds another level of significance here.

Like Drew said, this is the start of a new decade. And boy, I am so looking forward to see all the '80's AJPW stuff. This is such a cool project!
