AEW Fyter Fest 2020 - Night one

They have been building this and next week for a long time now. Hopefully they deliver.

One thing I have realized about AEW.. They are reliable, and I have 100% faith that they will deliver. It's the "other company" that I have no faith in. I barely have that much interest in NXT anymore unless it's a Johnny Gargano match.

Jericho on commentary and MJF on the mic are gold.

I popped for Jericho channeling his inner Hugo Savinovich with the lucha commentary.

The set is pretty cool. Jericho has already made this match feel better than it actually is.

[Coffey]

Jericho name-dropping the band Anvil popped me.

MJF calling Jack Perry "Jungle Jabroni" got me too.

"You ever have pyro, you masked idiot!?" 

Match has been entertaining too. Good start.

Heel MJF v. Face Wardlow could be intriguing

I won't be able to watch the whole show as I have to leave for work in an hour but this is the first time I've turned on AEW in a few weeks. It's honestly been quite entertaining so far. I don't regret it.

The tone of the show was set strong by that match. ***3/4 for that one. A more epic ending would have been 4 Star for me. Time for Jurassic Express to hit the Tag Team ranks. MJF and Wardlow will split soon after hearing, "Can you do anything right!?". MJF looked like a star wearing pink, BTW.

Kip Sabian is so fucking bland

I had no feelings about Sabian, but that was some dumb shit when he blatantly threw the stick in the air when he got punched.

I feel I will end up liking this match more than most. It felt more like an actual knockdown dragout fight than most AEW matches feel, even though they inserted a couple of cute spots in it. Shida retained as she should.

**** for me. Hikaru Shida is an awesome champion. Penelope Ford has a bright future, and she needs to drop Kip The Drip.

Kip is to Penelope what Seth was to Becky. Thankfully WWE actually rectified that fairly soon.

Kip is Seth??? . One is a total loser, and the other has been a winner from day one. But I guess I kind of get it.

The biggest difference between NXT & AEW to me, from flipping back-and-forth tonight, is that in NXT, not very many people feel special or like stars. Like that opening women's four way is just a nothing match. Meanwhile, in AEW, so far each match has felt like the people in the match were stars. 

Io/Sasha on NXT I'm sure will be different but their card is not something that looks like they're too concerned with trying to "fight" against AEW on Wednesday.
