Dump Matsumoto & it's not particularly close. Dump in 1986 is like Hokuto in 1993. She's so far ahead of everyone else it's not even fair. Dump has 3 matches from 1986 in my top 10 matches of all time. vs Chigusa (Hair match), vs Yukari Ohmori (the greatest match ever) and vs Itsuki Yamazaki (the greatest large villain vs smaller underdog match ever). Multiple other great matches. The highest anyone ever peaked.

Another wrestler worth noting: Ricky Morton. Has the feud with Flair and also the RnR's have their feud with Arn & Ole Anderson with multiple classic matches, they continue their feud with the Midnight Express with multiple classic matches & begin their feud with Rude & Fernandez with another classic match.

I can't say anything about Dump because I haven't watched the Chigusa match in about 15 years and I don't think I've even seen any of the other stuff, but last year I watched basically all the Fujiwara we have available for '86 and he was absolutely sensational the whole year. If I go through that AJW stuff and come out the other end of it thinking Dump is the clear #1 for the year then I guess I'd be in agreement with it being the highest peak of anyone ever, because Fujiwara's '86 is one of the absolute best years I've seen from a wrestler.

Morton is a good pick as well. Maybe not for the top spot, but top 3 in a great year for wrestling is hardly an insult.
