Jmare007
My problem with the finish remains the same thing I've been bitching about since Mox turned on him and did the bag gimmick at All Out. I'm gonna repeat myself for the nth time here (sorry about that, but I gotta vent). I do not believe it's worth the effort of putting him and the BCC over like this. To me this feels very similar to angles like "Who is the Devil" last year and "The Elite are taking over AEW" earlier this year. It may sound like worth a shot on paper but this company does not have the creativity to make them compelling in the long run, and they die a death pretty early. I'm never gonna get over my head that instead of killing Danielson, just let Darby beat him in a classic in front of a red hot Tacoma Dome. I do not believe Allin beating Mox will be as big a deal as him beating Dragon tonight would've been. Mox vs Danielson IV in 2025 (at All In if Bryan can get cleared that early?) is not something I wanna watch again either. The main event was good but it did not grab me like it did some of you. Anyways, Swerve/MVP and Hangman/White are the only two things worth a fuck about AEW right now so I'ma take a break from weekly watching until the Continental Classic happens again. Adam Cole being back in a prominent role is another "I do not need this right now" sign for me too.
Stiva
I dug the ending of the show but I can see why people would be tired of another Mox run. It’s always good when they get these crowds to react with some genuine emotion other than popping for victories and they’ve managed it quite a bit recently. I liked the positioning of Hook, Garcia, OC and Darby at the end and if those are the guys running opposite, I think it could be something exciting that lifts them all. Garcia especially could come out of this a huge babyface. What has to happen is that they have to stick the landing with whatever Moxley’s grander crusade is supposed to be about and that’s a bit more difficult. Are they after all the belts? Which means they cross paths with The Elite which…not for me.
Stiva
I also only just put together the idea of Darby being like his mentor and going after the stable full of rampaging heels
sek69
1 hour ago, Stiva said: Are they after all the belts? Well they still have the trios titles now that Yuta made his choice, so they don't have to add any more belts if they don't want to. I understand folks not feeling another Mox run, but we're also getting a Claudio heel run along with Pac back in his natural element. Who knows, maybe a heel turn will be the spark needed to send Yuta to the next level as well. Plus I expect in the short term its going to be some combo of OC/Garcia/Darby battling through the minions to get to Mox so that should help get some juice to the Mox matches when they eventually happen. Also the babyfaces are going to need a woman on their side to combat Shafir, which I would presume is Willow, so that'll be a good way to get her to the next level as well. MoS
Lest we forget, Mark Briscoe got a good match out of Jericho, God bless him
MoS
I think if the post-match leads to Darby finally getting properly elevated into the main event, after having hung at its precipice for so long, then it would have achieved its goal. Also, wrestlers' intent is a slippery slope, but this is exactly how that psycho freak GOAT would have wanted to go out.
EnviousStupid
Am very happy that I can view Moxley as in his Hollywood Hogan phase. Dude's had a lax way of carrying himself in moments of matches, would at times feel inclined to say he's just phoning it in, so this works for me extremely well alongside the NWO-lite takeover. strobogo
Takeshita just blasting mfs has to be one of my favorite things in wrestling today. Interesting that they're signifying both Darby and Orange finally going to the top belt, because it seems like it would be difficult to satisfyingly elevate both to that level at the same time without making fans have to choose. Perhaps OC winning the CC makes more sense for now. CC could be even better than last year with the possible available talent: Okada Ospreay Fletcher Orange Hangman Swerve Cesaro Pac Brody Garcia MJF Adam Cole Rush Switchblade Maybe Black and/or Buddy? Juice Shibata KOR Jay Briscoe a returning Hobbs Richochet Roddy Stong Joey Samoey? Perhaps a Bobby Lashley? Get Double J in there, TK. Big Bill as a darkhorse in the Archer role perhaps. Stiva
If we don’t get the awesome return of Joe to help Hook against the BCC on an episode of Dynamite then this angle is for naught.
