Stiva Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago We’re in Canada and Jericho matches have been all over the AEW YouTube in recent days so I’d maybe prepare for that. More importantly, we have Eddie Kingston! Including the Tailgate Brawl, you’re looking at one hell of a long show
Coffey Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago I was super excited for this show because the card looks good. I have HBO Max & I knew that the show started early, so I went to the app to see what time the show starts & see that it's $40 on top of the HBO Max subscription? Completely deflated me. Maybe it has always been like that, maybe I was spoiled by WWE Network, but I'm not paying for a streaming service & then paying a premium on top of that to watch the damn show. That's ridiculous. I might still watch it online on the high seas but that definitely hurt my excitement. I was planning on trying to get my wife to watch it with me but that's definitely a no-go now. Should still be a great show.
MoS Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago This quarter has been brutal for me work-wise, this is the first wrestling show I am watching in ages. Beth Phoenix is here?!
MoS Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago I hope we never ever find out whether Eddie still hates Claudio for real or not
sek69 Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Eddie looking like he hasnt't missed a beat, he's like the passion of wresting in human form.
Stiva Posted 13 hours ago Author Report Posted 13 hours ago I liked that post-match angle in theory but not sure it worked for me in practice. Felt a bit too WWE-esque when this entire year has been so much better when AEW has moved away from it
Stiva Posted 13 hours ago Author Report Posted 13 hours ago Kingston being back and teaming with HOOK is awesome though. Get Homicide in as their manager while we’re at it. It also means we’re probably getting Eddie vs Joe at some point
The Thread Killer Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago I felt that FTR vs Copeland & Christian match was kind of underwhelming and didn’t really deliver the way I was hoping it would. I felt it was just starting to build some steam when the whole Stokely/Beth stuff happened and kind of wrecked the flow of the match. It was also shorter than I was expecting. I assume based on what happened afterwards that there is going to be a continuation, but I didn’t much enjoy that.
The Thread Killer Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Did not expect that finish in the MJF/Briscoe match.
sek69 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago So the rumor mill is stating New Japan is planning on strapping up Takeshita soon. and that's why AEW is speeding up the potential match with Okada now before it becomes more of a headache politically.
sek69 Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Mox vs Darby is going to be some insane bullshit and I can't wait.
sek69 Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago PAC on that WWE style "get injured, come back massive" diet.
Stiva Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago PAC and Gabe Kidd is the bad-tempered tag team I didn’t know I needed. Make it happen, TK
MoS Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago Also, I get the haters, I really do, but Jon Moxley is awesome
sek69 Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago Death Riders vs Darby/Bryan/??? in the next Anarchy in the Arena perhaps?
MoS Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago This Toni Storm video is priceless. Worth the PPV by itself
MoS Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago 2 minutes ago, sek69 said: Death Riders vs Darby/Bryan/??? in the next Anarchy in the Arena perhaps? Briscoe or Kingston would be my choice
Stiva Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Orange Cassidy, PAC and Eddie Kingston isn’t a bad set of guys to make their return when you have some injuries
Stiva Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Also, I’ve had an inkling that the Mark Briscoe stuff is leading up to him finally having a deep run in the CC. The first one they made an effort to say he was finding his footing as a solo wrestler, he did better again in the second and now he’s finally won some big matches and has just beaten a bona-fide main eventer. I’m not sure he’ll win but I’d be willing to bet he’s in the Semis at World’s End
Stiva Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Stat winning feels like it’s something TK has wanted to do for a long time so let’s see how it goes. She joins the Death Riders from here?
