Vote for the wrestler that you think had the better career in WWE (whether you base that on impact or match quality is your decision), from 1985 to 2005. Voting will end tomorrow morning at the latest. Please give the wrestler's name first and any explanation thereafter. Thanks.

Bret Hart

Longer run on top with far better matches. Overall, he's probably drawn as much money as Piper did at his peak, especially when you include Bret's really high international numbers. As a worker, it's not even a contest.

I don't think Hart was quite the draw that Piper was during his peak (though, admittedly, I don't have the numbers), but Hart may have the strongest resume of matches out of anybody in this tournament. That, plus his longevity and multiple roles within the company (success as a heel & face, as tag competitor and singles) put him over one of the most recognizable stars from the Rock 'n Wrestling era.

Piper's drawing power in this timeframe is pretty limited, as he was only full-time from 1985 to 1987.

Bret, OTOH, carried the WWF from late 1992 to about 1997 along with Shawn Michaels. If not for Bret, the company would have been in serious trouble.

While Piper was a major star and a major talent he had Hulk Hogan leading the way. Bret had to carry the company by himself from mid-93 through 94, before they stupidly put the strap on Nash.
