Vote for the wrestler that you think had the better career in WWE (whether you base that on impact or match quality is your decision), from 1985 to 2005. Voting will end tomorrow morning at the latest. Please give the wrestler's name first and any explanation thereafter. Thanks.

Guest Some Guy

Benoit.

Taker has had roughly 10 good matches in the 13 1/2 years he's been in WWE and they were against guys like Bret Hart, HBK, and Brock Lesnar. Benoit was having good-great matches right out of the shoot with HHH, Rock, and Jericho in 2000 and then turned in some classics with Austin in 2001. As far as impact Taker gets it (although that might be questionable which I'll get to), charisma I'd call a wash (I think the gimmick made the man in Taker's case), Mic skills would go to Taker, I suppose, drawing power is probably Taker but not by much and really only die to longevity.

I think Benoit had a bigger impact than a lot of people think. First off he brought wrestling back into the company after a pretty long absence. I don't think it's any coincedence that Rock worked with Benoit for a couple months in 2000 and all of the sudden his workrate shot way up. The chops, which can be annoying were also a big thing. Look at the amount of guys who worked with Benoit and then started using chops: Jericho, Austin, Rock, HHH, HBK, Angle, etc... It is an easy pop and Austin and others at that time needed all they could get. When Benoit came in all the ME guys started stealing one another's moves Rock's Spinebuster, HHH's Sleeper (YAY!), Benoit's Chops and German Suplexes (Angle owes half his moveset to Benoit, too bad he doesn't execute them as well), etc...

He's managed to get over and stay over despite not having a sustained push or really being treated very well at all, that can not be said for Taker.

Benoit

Benoit is a far superior worker and is a superior promo guy.

Taker has longevity but he's got an ugly history of using his seniority to get out of stuff that would be good for the company.

Undertaker.

The guy reinvented himself many times while still staying somewhat true to his original cartoonish gimmick. Not only that, but he also became one of the most popular wrestlers in history.
