Bryan Danielson retiring?

From Mike Johnson at 1Bob:

American Dragon Bryan Danielson is gone from Ring of Honor, as he is taking time off to evaluate his career options and may end up leaving professional wrestling. Danielson, a superb in-ring performer, is said to have become increasingly frustrated with the business and is going to travel in Europe for the summer. It's possible he may end up working some shows from Brian Dixon's All Star Wrestling, which runs small shows in the UK, but beyond that he has no real intentions of working.

Ring of Honor covered for Danielson's departure in their storylines with an announcement that he was upset he didn't win the ROH championship this past weekend in Illinois. The ROH announcement noted that Danielson may be leaving the business, which is true, but beyond that it was simply a storyline to address his abrupt departure. If he decides to come back in any form down the line, obviously the company would be ecstatic to have him.

It's already been speculated that it may just be a work to put over his current storyline, but that will be very sad if it is indeed true.

I am not surprised. With less money in wrestling, fewer spots, dying promotions, decreasing crowds... I can't imagine many men sticking it out for more than 5 years knowing they'll never get a contract worth a damn because they don't have the right look to match their skills, all the while having bills to pay that a couple of hundred every weekend won't cover.

I don't think he'll retire and I hope he doesn't because I enjoy his stuff in the ring. To this point, it's obvious he puts a lot of heart/effort in his work and for that reason I don't think he'll leave. He obviously cares about what he does. Just like everyone else nobody can leave once the bug has bitten you. The adrenaline you get from people cheering and booing what you do is just not something that is easily duplicated elsewhere.

Everyone gets burned out once in awhile, and I'm of the mind that until I see him retire, I'm considering him still wrestling. This sounds of a case where he's just been doing it for so long, he needs quite a few months off.
