June 11, 2001 issue Minoru Tanaka beat Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata is an opening match guy. His father was a wrestler in the 70s and later a referee. He's 21 years old and has been wrestling about 18 months, and this was his highest profile singles match of his career. It was really good. Unless Tanaka is a miracle worker, and he may be, and barring a serious injury, Shibata has one hell of a future.
