Even just climbing on top he did it in a way to upstage the other guys. Also notice he was doing the most celebrating despite having almost nothing to do with the finishing sequence.
Good to know that they have such faith in their current stars. This is like that night that Jeff Jarrett had to job to Tito Santana, Jimmy Snuka and George Steele in WCW.
3 title changes in 3 months isn't the way to make people believe your belt is important. Especially when it's well known that two of the guys were heading to the WWF and that RoH was doing it to jerk their fans around.
It's still not the greatest of choices. I don't think putting the belt on a guy that's considering retirement is a great idea but at least they've stopped with this WWF madness. Danielson has to hold the belt for at least 6 months to restore the belts credibility.
Someone had a post supposedly from Meltzer saying that HHH, Michaels and Hayes were all doing a burial job on him backstage after his first Heat match under contract.
Not many people.
It's why this move is so confusing to me. The booking team had really been getting it that other talent was the answer to TNA. Their summer was incredible and it makes me wonder where the booking team is going with this. Unfortunately I don't think we'll have a clue until 10/1 arrives. Part of me thinks that Jarrett got the belt back for the sole purpose of jobbing it to someone at Bound for Glory because it's supposed to be their "Wrestlemania." We could very easily see him job the belt right back to Raven to properly build him for the new audience or to an incoming guy they've secretly signed like Chris Jericho.
Of course this could lead to Jarrett having another year long run with the belt at which point they've blown their shot.
Here's another TNA note for you guys:
I'll definately be buying this. 3 PPVs for the price of what they currently go for online is an awesome deal.
I could view this as acceptable if he's getting the title to serve as job fodder for an incoming guy they want to give the title too. The booking team has been good so far so I have faith they know Jarrett doing anything past October as champ isn't going to fly. They'll probably prove me wrong though.
This could also be your typical house show deal with the title doing a quick back and forth or maybe they'll strip Jarrett on the first Spike Impact and have a tournament leading up to their big show or something like that.
TNA on Spike can't get here fast enough. I actually completely forgot that Raw was on last night. And for as boring as Miami/FSU was it probably blew Raw out of the water.
How bad is it for creative when they're eagerly lapping up a guy that just failed in another promotion not even 5 months ago. Dusty is not the answer to their problems. He could be doing so much more for them as a road agent.
Melvin sure did everything possible to lose that fight tonight. I've never seen someone completely back off the second they got the advantage so many times.
I think the first Spike Tv Impact ending with Jericho attacking the NWA Champion would be huge for TNA. TNA needs to do whatever it takes to get Jericho before October.
I think Matt Hardy already regrets not signing that TNA offer. I think Chris Jericho showing up on the first Spike Tv Impact could make TNA. Jericho could probably get close to what he makes in the WWF by working a few indies and doing some tours in Japan. I'm sure all three major Japanese promotions would be dying to land a gaijin of his calibur.
