We’ve had this argument countless times since the brawl last year and the only thing I learned is that there still isn’t a fucking adult in the room and firing Punk in response to whatever happened with Perry was hilarious given how Punk was treated when he came back. Playing both sides doesn’t work. Coming to a resolution does, and this wasn’t a resolution. It was a cop out. Tony doesn’t want his company to become WCW, but it’s happening because he can’t step up and tell everyone to park the fucking pride and just do business together. You lose your biggest draw because you couldn’t figure out how to deal with him, and you dealt with him in ways that played right into his wheelhouse of being a curmudgeon and asshole. Having your cake and eating it too might as well be the damn AEW motto at this point.

I don’t think it’s about overexposure so much as it is that they don’t want to just move folks up without a plan nowadays. I think NXT used to be, “Nothing more you can do here, need to move you up.” Now it’s more about if there’s a spot at the main roster level.

The OC/Penta match was really dumb, but dug OC deciding to speak up knowing he has to with Mox.

I know we give Tony shit but at the same time he knows how to push some of the right buttons, man.

I used to think of Punk as a bit of a canary in AEW’s coal mine but dude is more parrot than anything else

Haus is Punk’s mouthpiece, so I’m not surprised this is highlighted, but the pettiness on display with all this would have been nipped in the bud with any type of grownup in the room. The Bucks and their buddies might be children but Punk ain’t an adult.

The Kingdom, Roddy Strong, and Adam Cole were in the final segment of a show with 80k people, amazing. Also, a better show of friendship than anything done by The Elite ever.

Love that the 50 and 60 year olds are some of the best on the show.

This match has been good for me, Jericho doing his best stuff well, Ospreay not doing his worst.

Sting is probably per capita the wrestler of the year, Orange has him on volume but Sting has absolutely delivered to a capacity like few others when given the opportunity. Incredible stuff.

Uncontrolled vs. controlled chaos. One for the crowd. One for the folks at home. Both worked for me.
