Why does Irv Muchnick think Orton attempted suicide?
Boondocks Kernoodle replied to sek69's topic in Pro Wrestling
It was a TNA PPV. I believe it was the one with the first AJ/Joe/Daniels 3-way. I don't remember people posting any "rumors" so to speak, but there were worries and speculation from fans because nobody could get a hold of Waltman and IIRC he wasn't heard from for several days afterward. Anyway, Irv has posted the BENOIT WIKIPEDIA HACKER FAQ on the WO site: http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/7347/ -
This tape isn't considered rare nowadays, is it? http://www.amazon.com/All-Star-Wrestling-V...r/dp/6300984133 I got this at K-Mart when I was 8 because it listed "Tully Blanchard vs Brett Hart." That "Brett Hart" turned out to be a young Barry Horowitz. I guess if it was sold at K-Mart it can't be rare, right?

I think WCW's production values regressed quite a bit over the years. Look at the set for Starrcade '89 and then look at the set from Starrcade 2000. Which is more impressive? The answer may surprise you! However, by the end of their existence they had gotten away from "3/4 overhead crowd pan before every entrance," which was a step up, I suppose.

http://muchnick.net/babylon/ Irv's still at it. He just WILL NOT SHUT UP about the "Benoit Wikipedia Hacker." I'm starting to feel sorry for this kid. Sure, I don't approve of Wikipedia trolls, and I think his actions were kind of immature and tactless, especially considering the fact that she really DID turn out to be dead. But the guy got questioned by the cops, got raked over the coals by the media a little bit, and it's clear that he just made a dumb joke. Will Irv ever leave him the fuck alone? -
The Wrestlerock Rumble is up in the "Shorties" section now. Who would have thought Larry Zybysko would have the best flow of all the AWA wrestlers? Bockwinkle, even more shocking, is the second best, but he just can't compete with Larry's enthusiastic yell at the end of his verse. Hennig and Hall coming out of the pool in their tights speedos was pretty homoerotic, but I guess that was supposed to appeal to women. Right? I was also really disappointed that Brody didn't get to spit on the mic and let the sheik bust all the rhymes for the two of them.

That explains why Pearce jobbed the NWA title in Mexico this weekend.

Is there any truth to this rumor or is it DVDVR sleaze thread tomfoolery?

Some six years later, Hogan and Edge as tag champs is still too strange for me to get my head around.

I guess you're right. OK, move the scaffold match to Unforgiven then. At the very least, it would have spared us that awful promo on the Smackdown before where Matt talked about the "UNNNFORGIVVINGGG STEEEEEL CAGE." Except then it would have been a week after WCW's scaffold match with Douglas and Kidman. Ah, whatever. WWE's done well enough without scaffold matches.
-
On a side note, does anyone else think WWE could have gotten some mileage out of a scaffold match between Edge/Christian and the Hardys in 2000? I know those matches usually suck, but most of the fans watching in 2000 had probably never seen one before and I think WWF could have built up sufficient intrigue to get people interested in it as a PPV match. I'd think Edge and Christian would have to win, since the huge bumps were Matt and Jeff's domain. And while the scaffold bump is certainly dangerous, it would only be one bump compared to the many they would take in a TLC match. I'm thinking that should have been the tag title match at Summerslam 2000 instead of the three-way with the Dudleys.

We're talking about the Warlord here, bud. Things could go wrong.

Nobody owes their workplace a 20-foot drop onto a huge wooden plank with some thin padding on it, especially when you're close to 300 pounds of muscle. If they got out of the NWA because they didn't want to hurt themselves, good for them.

This piece of news invalidates everything Meltzer has ever written! Hooray! -
Lashley, I think.

I think I read that she never signed off on the pics. Or maybe I didn't read that. I'm sure Playboy has lots of nude pictorials they've never released.

He's right, you know. Of course if his company didn't make being a wrestler so damn expensive maybe they'd have more money to save! -

That was my favorite time period for Lex. I appreciate the fact that he wasn't afraid to make himself look like a complete idiot. For all the talk of him being a prima donna, he certainly wasn't afraid to job or look bad during that time. -

Chad, can you translate the Legalese to English for us? 1) http://malaysia.answers.yahoo.com/question...19103828AAonKM3 5) http://www.lectlaw.com/def/e077.htm I think those are the most confusing of the six. The others are kind of easy to figure out. But I'll defer to those who know law better than I.

They'd say it wasn't their fault.
