  1. Greg Gagne, Al Snow and Danny Davis are booking OVW.
  2. I think it was Rock. Hard as it may be to believe, from what I've heard, Foley was mad at Rock about their Rumble '99 match for a long time and throughout all that Rock & Sock stuff, they weren't friends. They made up afterwards, though.
  3. There was never a time when any of those three guys should have been WWF champion. They didn't do Russo-style quick title reigns to swerve the fans back then.
  4. Methinks the casual DVDVR mention on my part was a mistake. In an attempt to get this thread back on topic, I'll tell you that this week's Observer says that the breakup is due to the fact that Mercury is being sent to rehab. Since Melina and Nitro are so disliked, they're being taken off the road for now as well. The two of them will be on Raw when they come back.
  5. I'm conviced that there was no real reason for the Blonds breaking up, and that it was just a casual booking decision they made. "Hey, why don't we have Austin and Pillman break up and fight each other?" "Sounds good." Besides, WCW didn't nead the Blonds to carry the tag division anymore at that point. They had the Nasty Boys! Boondocks - Is willing to bet 4 out of 5 DVDVR posters think the Nastys were better workers than the Blonds
  6. It's because the 'net has finally come around to agreeing with the whole "cruiserweights don't know how to work" thing. I mean, DVDVR, these are the guys behind the whole "Mark Henry is a great worker" phenomenon, and along with the strange Meng & Barbarian worship that goes on at that board, who knows what goes on in their minds. P.S. For real blind TNA hate including ten "Joe is fat" jokes per thread please visit the wrestling section of http://www.shootproject.com/thepit
  7. I don't quite get this whole new DVDVR-led phenomenon of the "IWC" being marks for hosses and anyone who can throw a good punch. Not that I'm some big fan of spot-monkeys, but I swear one of these days we're going to see a thread on that board saying Giant Silva was a better worker than Shawn Michaels. Just wait.
  8. "Why don't you get your father to help you? Oh yeah, that's right, HE'S DEAD!" This line will no doubt be uttered by one of WWE's top heels towards Harry soon after he joins the main roster.
  9. I think the Joe/Sabu match will be good. I'm not a big fan of Sabu's style, but the cage will force him to actually work a match as he won't be able to do his springboard dives to the outside or other such overdone spots.
  10. Well, you know, Flair was a big Jesse Helms supporter.
  11. There wouldn't be any chaos. But HHH would get every bonus as Vince would always deem his match the best on the card.
  12. I always wondered about Kip Frey's bonuses: How exactly was it determined what the best match on the show was?
  13. In situations like this, you're really at WWE's mercy. You aren't going to find any other buyers willing to pay a million, you aren't going to make a million selling FCW DVDs to the internet wrestling fans, and it's not like WWE really needed that footage. If Graham tried to play hardball, they probably wouldn't have very many reservations about walking away from negotiations. Besides, wasn't WWE's first offer to Kevin von Erich for the WCCW library $50,000? I'd say Mike got a pretty good deal.
  14. Nash was supposed to main event Bound for Glory, TNA's version of Wrestlemania.
  15. I seriously doubt that. WWE's production is generally very good. The reason the production improved so much with the advent of SNME in the '80s is that WWF television generally looked like shit and Dick Ebersol knew that he couldn't put it, as it was, on NBC. Do you think NBC is even aware of the rare production errors WWE has had in the last few years?
  16. Along those lines, I don't consider the stuff with Mark Henry (the tranny and Mae angles, etc.) to be exposing a weakness. Just supremely bad writing.
  17. So what are some examples of WWE doing this? I think this would be a good place to compile all that anyone can think of. Here's the ones that I can think of off the top of my head: Making Henry's weight problems into an angle with D-Lo Having Lita tell Rey that he's the inspiration for the Smackdown midget division (sure, everyone knows he's small, but it's best not to point it out in that manner) Vince making fun of Orton's size during his injury Ummmmmm.......I'm kind of drawing a blank here, even though I know there are loads more examples. Keep in mind I'm referring to what I feel are examples of intentionally exposing weaknesses. Stuff like giving Matt Morgan a stuttering gimmick when he has good mic skills, I don't put that in the same category. I don't think that they intentionally sabotaged him, just that they didn't use him to his potential and they unintentionally ruined his chances for success by trying to be funny rather than trying to create a good wrestling show.
  18. Does Petey wrestle for that promotion? If not, there's no reason for those wrestlers not to use it. It's not like Teddy Hart when he did AJ's move on a TNA PPV.
  19. What's this stuff about Jannetty being let go for drugs? I thought he was released after he was arrested for a "domestic dispute" with his girlfriend after being on probation for DUI. And I, or someone at least, is going to have to e-mail Meltzer and ask about this Tatanka thing.
  20. Jesus, how much did you pay for that?
  21. Didn't the AWF used to pay fans to go to their shows?
  22. Yeah, he never had a chance to exploit his father's death!!
  23. Well, not only that, but ******************SPOILER*************************** Orton tells Rey that he's too small (echoing what I'm sure are Vince's sentiments), and then breaks out the big guns, saying that Rey should stop looking up to Eddie, because he's in Hell. And Orton's gonna win this feud!! ****************SPOILER END***************************
  24. When they actually start running in the red it'll wake them up. I hope. At the very least, the excuses Vince and Linda come up with will be interesting.
